I'll compile teh picks into 1 post. I'm also going to ask Ed Nelson to pick for AJaye because he looks like a no show and I know not what to do.

Just to clarify... WRs are treated as TEs for purposes of filling roster slots but the points they acquire are different? This is the point system that was posted:
Rules for RB, WR Event Range (Low-High) Points Rushing Yards 10-999 1 point for every 10 Rushing Yards 100-999 3 Receiving Yards 10-999 1 point for every 10 Receiving Yards 100-999 3 Receptions 1-99 0.5 points each
Rules for TE Event Range (Low-High) Points Rushing Yards 10-999 1 point for every 10 Rushing Yards 100-999 3 Receiving Yards 10-999 1 point for every 10 Receiving Yards 75-999 3 Receptions 1-99 1.0 point each

Sorry, I should have been more specific. In the games Scott and I have played before, a TE got bonus points for less yards and receptions.

Don't listen to Superclyde, he still doesn't know the scoring system after three years. Yes the TE gets 3 bonus points @75 yards and he gets 1 point for each reception. Go back to the hash pipe and be quiet SC...

Ok, so I didn't read my own posts close enough. My mistake. Maybe that is why I am terrible at this?!?!
***News flash***
After week one of the Survivor Football League, a violent earthquake hit the rock. Only minor damage was reported, however there was one startling discovery once the dust settled. One owner was discovered missing. Ed Leonhart was gone. The other owners didn't seem surprised when the news reached their camps. Team Trouble remarked "Ed could always talk the talk, but it looks like he took a walk." Team Superclydes, this year's favorite to win, was a bit surprised though. "I was surpised he even made to week one! After the terrible draft he had, I was sure he wasn't going to show. His team didn't even want to play for him. Culpepper was threatening to quit football saying that even D. Green knew more about football than him!!"
I guess it isn't too surprising then that Edneck's team was eliminated in week one. With a TOTAL score of 33 points for his entire team, it will surely go down in history as the lowest score.
In a comment mentioned earlier, Ed was quoted as saying he was "living large on the rocks with dancing girls and free drinks". Since the disappearance, it has come to our attention that he must have been a little dilusional in his statement. He had been seen before the start of the game dancing with women, large women and drinking the drinks out of his mini bar. Now Ed is off the island with 11 fiances in distress and a $400.00 minibar tab that has gone unpaid. The Survivor league commissioner has been unable to be reached for comment about the situation, but we have been told that he is actively pursuing the wearabouts of Ed Leonhart. More to come on this breaking story.

That's funny, you can't get rid of the Edneck that easy!! I've already been brought back from the dead once, so Earthquakes, Tornados, even drunken Fantasy owners can't harm the Biged.
Your cracking me up with this campaign to get rid of the main competition. Good try!!

Mr. AC Hammers it is my advice that you not sellect another player that is off on week #3 :-(
Good for us, bad for you. I had to double check to make sure I didn't do teh same thing before I posted this message. A few years ago in this format we had a guy completely forget about bye weeks and he ended up with 5 players that were off in either week 2 or 3. It wasn't pretty and predictably he was eliminated quickly. I strongly considered drafting a player in round #3 till I reallized that he shared a bye week with teh other guys I drafted, not good. B2 Still not that worth of a 4th round pick IMO. This format is different, but I picked him up in the 10th round in another league and Scotty picked him up in the 12th. Not a starter yet, but he has looked good in preseason, but he looked good at Wisconsin also. That was 5 years ago. Not a sleeper in the 4th round.

Putting away the Giant lover in me...I say not necessarily. You guys munched up most of the prime Rbs that don't have bye conflict with my guys so far. So I figured I'd try to grab a back door guy & hope for 2 decent RBs that can put up relatively respectable numbers.

B2 It's a reach, but you never know. I still say you have to take the sure thing in this format. RBBC running backs are what's left and a sure fire #1 WR is the wiser choice.
A Gamble is just that, a calculated risk. your $20 bucks to spent as you wish. The Eddie George and Vanderjagt picks were worse.
Enjoy that Giant, he may have found a little more speed and ability over the winter?

Ed your right and I'm right. I'm not talking about take a dude thats 10 spots lower on teh cheetsheet because he has a better bye week but within a "few" players on the cheetsheet I'm definately looking at the schedule. I wanted to take D. Jackson but passed to avoid 2 Seahawks in my top 4 picks.

I would think the Dawgs are on the clock since jaye's pick. Mike was skipped and the dawgs are on the clock once Ajaye made his pick.
I'm thinking we need to change the timeframe on picks to get this done. I'm suggesting we lower the time down to 8 hours?
It will be Scotty's decision..If you can't make the pick in 8 hours then make plans....Am I talking nonsense?

The only problem with 8hrs is that because of the vast time differences that exist between different guys in this league it is possible to make a run right as someone goes to bed and then they don't get back to it right away and they get skipped. I personnally think we have to stick with 12 for now and after this next week if we are not doing better shorten it then. Besides it will be later in the draft so if a guy gets skipped it should be slightly less impacting as well.

Hey this is just getting stupid now. I picked like 10 picks ago on Friday morning at 0745 and this is as far as we have gotten. We need a new plan here. Either lower the lower the amount of hours to 8, which was suggested before, or change the format to 2 picks a round. At this rate the Jets will be 6-0 in the regular season before the draft is over. And all you guys complaining that we need 12 hours because of the time zone, email your picks to someone you can trust (which was said before as well!!!!).

Joe M, as long as the draft is completed before opening day, it doesn't matter. We cannot make any trades once the draft is complete, we don't have to set any lineups, so what is the big deal. I know you probably don't want to keep checking here a couple of times a day, but those are the breaks. I agree that everyone needs to send a list to someone if it looks like their pick is going to come up. Even if it is a remote chance.

Vick Benched?!?! Apparently you are a little close to the peace pipe. I don't care how good Schaub is looking in preseason, it is still preseason. If you think that they are going to sit Vick in the regular season, you are crazy. Here is what I clipped from CBS.
Michael's hamstring was tight during warmups and we decided as a staff not to play him tonight," said Falcons coach Jim Mora. "We feel having a healthy Michael Vick going into the regular season is the way to go."
I don't think they want to hold him out keep him healthy to ride the bench.
We still have plenty of time before the season starts. We are halfway there now. Once we get closer, we may have to speed things up, but right now we are still on course.

No doubt covering the bye weeks is critical but the running game is a critical link in almost any fantasy football format. I guess my buy week coverage will be a bit weak.

The whole point of this format is to survive. You defintely have a leg-up on the others if you have a QB for the duration, I know nothing is for certain, but the smart money say's cover your QB bye week.
I mean not all QB's are going to score 20 points a game, but any holes in your lineup could be critical...A little skill, but a whole lot of luck is going to be needed to win this.
That is the first time I've ever seen that many QB's taken in row in any draft...beautiful man!!!

Cause nobdy wants Stoney Case as their backup. I've left myself with the AJ Feely types of the world at QB which I hate to take but what can you do? I could draft a backup and hope he gets extended PT but my QB is off in week 4, too early in the season for a rookie or probably even a seasoned backup to be named the starter.

Man, what a run. It's tough watching them fly off the board and you still have teams ahead of you. This Survivor concept is really freaking fun - great idea. I'm trying get enjoy the draft as much as possible in case week 1 sucks.

I also started another league a few years ago that was interesting. Not trying to side track anybody but it was called "Team Based Drafting League". Basically we broke each NFL team down into 2 units, Offense and defense and they were drafted seperately. When you drafted an offense you got all of the players in that offense. Obviously the Rams, Colts and Chiefs are great picks. We had trouble giving the defenses enough points to make them valuable but I think we got close (Ravens were taken 4th overall). Max teams offensive teams you could have was 3 (10 team league) and with the right rules in place maybe I'll put something together for 2005. I love fantasy football but cookie cutter leagues are starting to bore me and I look for different ways to play the same game.

If you have the time (I don't right now) their is a league at the huddle.com that is still running the original survivor league. It is called HEFFA and you can see how their draft went and see what they are talking about. It is the exact same format except we have immunity for the first 8 weeks. I played 2 years, came in 3rd year 1 and was eliminated in week 1 the next. The second season I held the weekly high score record for most of the season but eventually got knocked out by a 5 TD Jimmy Smith game, anybody remember that? I remember debating to death whether you should draft 2 or 3 QB's and 1 or 2 kickers. I like 2 QB's and 1 Kicker but that leaves you really thin with an injury. 3 QB's and 2 kickers only leaves you with 5 position players which is also bad juju (play 1RB, 1Wr and 3 flex!). If I took 3 QB's then I'd only take 1 K. This is the only league you'll play in where backup QB's (NFL backups) are selected before the 10th round.

The survivor aspect of this league is a ton of fun, however, it is absolute PAINFUL to take someone like Grossman when there's still really nice talent on the board at other positions.
I had to close my eyes and plug my nose when I made that pick.
In the end, I agree with the Ednecks and nearly everyone who took a QB this round...smart money says to get that bye week covered with someone.

I really didn't want a QB this round either, but the run was coming. I know that hurt gary, the master draftsman having to settle for Grossman..I could tell you hated to make that pick.
Scotty nice pick with Foster, a few backup RB's could make a few teams strong later in the season.
My QB bye weeks are early 3 and 4, so If I get past those my chances are increased, barring any major injuries..which is the case with most teams.
I leave week 1, the SuperClydes will have a field day busting my chops....never happen...I hope..the pain would unbearable.

Teams picking 16-17-18 have excellant teams IMO. I didn't like the Gannon pick by JHHH but now I do. Kicker run? 2 kickers for anybody? It's steady points rolling in and will anybody venture out for 3 QB's? I doubt it but you never know with this crew..........

I thought the teams picking 16-17-18 sucked big time. He He He. 1 Kicker is enough and if you drafted a kicker before the 8th round you got "little tiny baby nuts". Only half serious!!!

"Anyone not get a second QB?"
(Show me with my hand raised very sheepishly)
I do have a plan though, I just need to correctly predict which QB is most likely to lose his job/get hurt and draft his backup. My only other hope is that a QB suffers a season or long term injury while it's my pick and I draft his replacement (and I don't hope for an injury to anybody but if it does I'd like it to happen when it's my pick). Not a good strategy but passing on Rattay for Foster has left me in that position. I wanted Harrington in the earlier rounds but he has the same bye week as Hass. Their is much more to consider in this format than your regualr leagues because once were done drafting that's it and you must plan it out in September and hope it goes right through December/January.
