Subject: Pain Game Draft Discussion ONLY!!

Put all of your trash-talking garbage in this post. I encourage the ridiculing of other owners, but keep it neat and light. Keep it football or draft related. No straying from those subjects. It can get out of hand real quick and turn ugly, right Ed and Tim?? I know this year we all will have a good time. |

I'm always light-hearted. No need to worry about the Edneck, he's a pussycat this year.
Good luck and I do enjoy playing with everyone even Lorin...SC's a pain in the A$$, but you all know that.

Ed, C'mon you almost hurt my feelings there!! Haven't seen any picks so far and at least we know Buddy can tell the difference between the trash talk page and the picks page. Lorin you are up!! Let's get this thing started so I can start to make fun of everyone's picks because you know my picks are the winning ones!!

Sorry about the post on the wrong page. It's puff, puff, pass... right? Too many puffs I guess, ha! I think Ed and Tim are lovers, and that Lorin isn't picking because he's too busy having Tracy explain to him how to do his job. We all know Tracy runs the shop while you and Friske play golf all day Lorin! Mike and Scottie will back me up on that fact. I'll give Lorin a call tommorow and tell him to quit playing the skin flute and post his pick (William Perry!).

Sorry for not making a pick yesterday wasn't really thinking it would start until tomorrow. I am taking a Engl Comp class and was at Lakenheath doing some research and did not check my home email at all until this morning. I have Travis' picks also so when it gets to him I have directions on what to do. Yeah Buddy is right Trav does run the shop, but me and Friske play golf I don't think you want to see that. I know Jim is going to pick LT so should I post it for him or what? Oh by the way you all will be dominated this year so get ready for your A#$ whoopings.

I hope Green's Knee is fine? I didn't think Lorin or Friske would leave me LT or PH. Portis and McAllister were close, but I like the GB offense a little better.
Let keep this moving as fast a possible...I was a little late, but I do have to sleep sometime.

You would need a buddy there Ed. After the beating you are taking in the Survivor draft, I am still surprised you are active in this league. I guess you think you have to do well in at least one league!! Just kidding. That is the main reason I joined so many this year.

Survivor draft I'm kicking major ass. Culpepper,Westbrook,Duckett,Horn and Coles...that's a mighty fine lineup for picking 13th.
You know I'll be around to collect the money. I always take home more then I pay. I wasn't going to send my fee, because it's just coming back home to Biged anyway...he he

I thought that they were in the website, but they weren't. Now they are.
LINEUPS
QB,RB,WR,WR,WR,WR,K,D QB,RB,WR,WR,WR,TE,K,D QB,RB,RB,WR,WR,TE,K,D QB,RB,RB,RB,WR,TE,K,D
AS A WORD OF WARNING!!!
These are the only combinations that we will use. The lineups will work if you if you set an illegal lineup at the site. CBS doesn't recognize the combinations we use, so as long as you have the positions filled, the site will say it is good to go. The biggest problems I have found in the past is when someone tries to start 2 RB's and 3 WR's without a TE. The only combination you can use without a TE is the 1 RB and 4 WR's. I will usually be online an hour or so before the games start to check everyone's lineups are legal. I will send you an e-mail or message to correct it. If you do not change it, I will substitute someone who I think will do their best to make the lineup legal. PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK THIS!! The other option is that if you set an illegal lineup, you will receive ZERO points for that week and automatically lose (unless Lorin is going to try and get negative points this year!!).

I just sent him another e-mail. His last statement to me was that now he could get into rotoguru, he would be ok. I also asked him to send me a list so that if there were problems, we could pick for him. That was about two weeks ago. I really hate to skip him this early in the draft. That bad part is that if Jeff has to dropout ( I will kill him), that is really screwing the new owner.
What do all of you think? If we don't have anything from him by 1200 tomorrow, I say we are going to have to dump him and try and find a new owner. I don't want to have to find another owner and having to make up picks that were missed. Tim, keep Corky in the loop and see if he would like to join or not. I really hope he responds.
Also, when forwarding e-mails, put the time in there so we can all make it easier to know when the timeout is.
Thanks,

I know Jon was a little disappointed, but he e-mailed me and said that he was going to be a little busy this season. I know he is in the Survivor league, but I am not sure if he is willing to join a weekly "hands-on" league. I will have to say we go with Eric for right now as the fill in for Jeff if we don't hear from him. Is noon too long to wait? I know he is two hours ahead of England time there in Turkey,so he should at least have checked his e-mail in the AM. All of my messages go to both of his address' so he should be getting them. He said he was, so he must be too busy. 1000 England time? Let me know.
Buddy give Eric a call and ask him if he will be a backup if Jeff doesn't show

Now about that pummelling. Weren't you the person who scored 26 points in one week with your entire team?? Maybe you and Ed could get both of your teams together and come up with a score of at least 50 or so. Too bad George isn't in this league, you two might have had a chance to get a win this year!!

Mike, I don't know if you recall, but the baseball draft took 2+ weeks. It seems to me some people just don't have their priorities straight. March and April Baseball draft August Football draft any questions. I don't have any heartache either way just wish that when all parties involved agree the draft will start on the 30th of August that they will be ready to do so. It is true I scored the lowest ever FF total, but seems to me an old pro like you ought to be scoring more than 60's weekly, which might even be over your average.

Hey, we aren't talking about me here!! Please don't. I know what you mean about the draft. I don't think that most of us will take this long once we get going. I would like to apologize to everyone. The way Jeff made it sound, it was like there wasn't going to be a problem. A few of you know Jeff pretty well, like I do, and I know he normally wouldn't let us down like that. C'mon Jeff, get in the game!!
And by the way Lorin, 58.6 for the past two years is pretty good!!

I hate to cut Jeff out, but if Eric starts to draft, and Jeff wants back in, we need to go in one direction. I say if we have no word from Jeff by 10 am, we replace him. Again, I hate to do it, but I'm not asking Eric to get in, and then step out in a few days when Jeff shows up. He knew about the 30 Aug start date. I'm sure something legit came up, but we have to move on. There's plenty of chances to get in other leagues both this season and in the future.

I just talked to Lee... again. He had some user difficulties. He was under the impression that rotoguru was like sportsline, with fancy drop down menu's to pick from. He didn't realize you actually have to have a list, do some homework, etc. It's going to be a pain with him during duty hours for the rest of the draft. Basically I'll be calling him on his cell phone while he is at work, so there may or may not be delays. He's working on the flightline, and he's a rookie expiditer, and so no computer access during work for him. I'll do my best to stay ahead and keep things lined up... but no promises. Uggghhh!!

I did say we would quit at 2200, so John will have to start tomorrow morning. I don't know what to say about Lee. I hope this isn't going to hinder the rest of the draft. I appreciate this Buddy. You should really ask him for a list though. Shouldn't take long to compile one. Gee maybe someone should have sent out the website for the picks earlier and have people check in to see what the site was all about. Oh wait, I did!! I guess maybe Travis will be able to draft the rest of his team as I know now that I won't be drafting tonight. This Sucks Major!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hold us all up, I was getting the kiddies to bed. Trust me, I am very FF minded at the moment...I will be visiting Jim (Morrison) in my dreams and ask him who to pick--it worked in Wayne's World!!! I will post my pick pretty close to 7am on the dot so whoever is next in line be ready and we can speed this thing along.
Any inside tips on who I should pick??? I am very new at this!!

Well at least I get to wake up to some humor! Ed, you had me laughing.
John... making us wait... c'mon man, help a brother out! I went to bed at midnight after working on character letters for a guy that has a bullsh*t medical board, and I'm back up at 4am to head in early. You gotta get HARD CORE bro... your in the soft porn category of FF owners... dig deep in that competative heart of yours!

C'mon John. We cannot afford to keep this stuff waiting like this. Just because the deadline is 2200, that doesn't mean we HAVE to stop!! We all need to keep this thing moving.

I think that pick was pretty good especially since I was in class from 6-9pm on Mildenhall and live 15 minutes from base and got gas after class any questions.

Only a little over a week until 04 kickoff will I have a team drafted? I don't know looks kind of iffy right now with a pick every 6 hours in the first couple rounds. I thought you all would've done some research by now, guess not. I could have done this forever and a couple days ago, but it looks like we have hit another snag in the draft line. If we don't get to me real soon I will be gone for class until 1230 so some more idle time.

I'm sorry I went to bed without making my pick last night guys!! I was like 2 guys away at 2000 and didn't look back on until I was shutting down for the night. I will try to make sure I show more dedication...I'm a huge competitor myself and I know how stressful this part is.

Something I didn't explain yet is the divisions. There will be two divisions based upon draft order. 1 - 5 will be the North and 6 - 10 will be the South. I haven't set the order yet, but will tonight. I don't get much of a chance to get into the site, everytime I go into it, Buddy has already placed the players on teams!! Not that I am complaining. Thanks Buddy.
Lets see...I say I am going to put the players on the owners teams....Buddy does it. I say I am going to make the divisions up tonight....Buddy does it?? Tomorrow I make a post that Buddy sends me $10,000 in the mail!!

Mike, just my 2 cents, but I don't like 1-5 and 6-10 for divisions. How about we all roll the dice, and every other # is in 1 division, and every other # is in the other. Or I can get a few of us locals together (Me, Eric, JD, Friske, Lorin, Fry, Lee) and pull them out of a hat. 1-5 and 6-10 ain't fair, because we can already see who has what on those teams thus far.

We have always played it that way because the earlier teams get the advantage of the true superstars on their teams. The rear teams are picking up the second tier, but the best of them and two of them at that. The middle players are all getting the middle.
As far as seeing who has what on what team, it shouldn't matter. Before we get down to the point that there is a possiblity of blocking another owner of a player, each of us should have a weekly starting lineup. If you are going to take players to block earlier than that, you are going to hurt yourself more than anyone.
Opinions???
I made my pick you are on the clock Eric.

You are right Clyde about always doing it that way and that is still good with me. However, doing it differently would be kind of refreshing and I really don't think it matters where we draft coz we all know guys that have picked later in the round and still have managed to win the league. It comes down to a mixture of drafting well and getting some luck... That is my opinion

Disregard my thoughts on the divisions. I agree with Mike's plan, let's just keep it simple, 1-5 and 6-10.
