Confidence is high in Shakland. I've been in the upper half pretty consistently lately despite having four players out with injuries. I've been riding the back of my two RBs -- Dillon and DD -- and now I'm starting to get healthy. I should get Pennington and Kasay back this week. All this good news has me worried.

Here's my preview for the week.

Favorites:
SuperClyde -- Vick has been scoring consistently lately, but how long can that last? He has to go to TB this week. I don't believe he'll get 30 this week. Got a little scare with Bruce getting banged up, but he should be fine and he's facing a very weak SF defense. Was able to cruise by even with Alexander having an off week. Has enough depth to be considered safe for a few more weeks.

Ednecks -- Getting points from every player on the team except for Nedney. Coles is a bit banged up but everyone else is playing well. Culpepper has Moss back, but faces a good test at Chicago. Westbrook should fare well vs. GB at home. Should also have no problems advancing again.

Underdogs
SSS -- The 3rd highest scoring team still alive has some concerns. T Green is banged up, but should play. Wheatley on the other hand looks to be out for a while. On the bright side, Heap may return this week and Martin should score well vs. Houston. SSS should be safe for another week.

Shak -- Dillon and D Davis have been playing well lately. Dillon could have a very big game vs. Cleveland, but DD and Carr could struggle against a good Jets D. Having a healthy Pennington throwing to Santana Moss could really help me out. I may need points from Kasay this week to survive.

LHC -- LHC is living on borrowed time. How far can he go without QB points? Rudi saved his bacon by scoring 31.5. The rest of the team only scored 14.5. Cinci at Balto could spell big trouble for Rudi and LHC. If Rudi struggles, then he will need big numbers from Holt (@SF) and Fargas, who should be the man in Oakland.

C5 -- The lowest scoring team stil alive is making do with only the underperforming Barlow at RB. The Plummer/Palmer duo continue to put up good numbers as does Mason. With Plummer at SD and Palmer at Balto getting 20 points at QB would be a bonus this week. If Barlow continues his poor play at the Rams, C5 will need a huge game from Mason at Indy, which is a good possibility.

My prediction is ...
My heart says please let SC or Ed bite the big one!
My head says it has to be C5 or LHC.
My gut says LHC will be unlucky #13.

I think it's an omen -- Ken Jennings lost on Jeopardy. The time has come for SC to go swim with the fishes.

Ken Jennings has nothing on me!! I will continue to dominate. I would have to agree with Jim. LHC without QB points will not make it past this week. Rudi won't score like that this week against the Ravens. I don't count on Vick to make 30 every week, but low 20's isn't out of the question with his running ability. I also don't expect 3 out of Alexander. I should see an increase this week out of him. Jim getting healthy isn't what I was wanting this late in the season. I have been putting the jinx on Ed all season, so I am going to stop it and lets see what happens.

I'm still not recieving the spreadsheet? leonhart@btopenworld.com. is my email address.

I would have to agree that LHC days are numbered without a QB. I've lived without Nedney from week one, so that isn't a factor. Coles banged up may hurt a little, but I should survive with enough points this week.

I do like the way Cory and DD are playing, they will carry the Shak a little farther then expected. I said to watch him earlier, because once he got healthy he would start to score more consistently..so he is a threat.

Shak has ranked them as I would have. He knows his stuff and I would think without something strange happening, this survivor league should be between SC, myself and Shak. I do like SSS and he is the wildcard in the last five. C5 days are numbered, you still never know, losing one of the top 3 three teams would make the other two major favorites.

SC you keep predicting the EDneck off the rock!!!!

No worries, Shak already sent me one. Also jus tto scare you a little more, he forgot to add 2pts to Horns score and he left off Crumpler 23 point all together. So add 20 more points to the Edneck score.....I'm coming to get you SC.

You have never heard the smooth soulful voice of the Neck. It will be tough to gain 120 points over the next 4 weeks...somehow those totals must be wrong.

I don't want you to be scared, just respectful when you get that Edneck beating!!!

I am always respectful to my much elders!! However the skills and knowledge seem to dwindle as the years increase. Catching the high score is quite a challenge. Four weeks of beating me by 30 points will do it, but my team is still scoring well. I am not even sure Scotty's score is untouchable. My entire team has the potential to put up huge numbers. I just need them to do it all in one week. My new goal. A clean sweep of the prizes. Survivor, high overall and weekly score. Get your pen ready Scotty!!

I'm like a fine wine Mike, I've only gotten better with age!! Your feeling pretty good about your chances, I wouldn't get too confident in this format. You do look like you got the total points wrapped up. Forget about the high score, that won't happen, 160 is out of reach.

TB will be Vick head hunting this week, so you better hope he lives to play another game. You are the favorite and I would be feeling good too....Enjoy the fame and I'd rub in into Scotty's face a little harder If I was you.

Good Luck everyone.....I've got a overnite in the Hospital on Friday to have some tests run on my bad Heart...I hope to see you fellows on Sunday!!

C'mon Ed, put yourself in my shoes. I have a team that is constantly scoring well. High overall score is pretty much wrapped up except if half my team gets injured.

Vick may have an tough week, but I think he will still be in the 20+ range and I DO expect more out of Alexander than 3 points this week.

You do pose a good point, Scotty seems a bit quiet. He scored under 50 this week, so his team he drafted must not be up to his usual standars. Oh wait, in this league you can't trade, so this must be the only format he has at least one of the same players he drafted on his team after week 2!! Kind of interesting that Scotty is out in this format. This must be the format that the silver tongued "trade authority" isn't as productive in.

Drafting has to be the biggest strategy of this game, duh, the only!! But luck and injuries are the next biggest factor. Lets all hope mine holds up!!!

Hey I resemble that remark.......... :-)

I love the Survivor format and would be knee deep in predictions if I was still alive. That's why it's nice to be in a league like this as an extra to all of the other leagues because once you get the boot it isn't quite the same.

Draft strategy? I guess I'd sum up by saying that you have to find the perfect balance between drafting safe realiable scorers and the streaky injury prone types. Dumb luck doesn't hurt either. I'm looking forward to teh 2005 edition and I PROMISE you that he scoring system will mirror a CBS league scoring system that I am in so it will be easy to cut and paste the points without doing ANY MATH. We'll work out the kinks.

I would also like to add to my best picks of the draft series. Getting Vick in the second round on pick 30 something was a steal.

This guy is killing me! I have to laugh everytime I read something on him!! I think R. Williams needs to have his head examined. He turned down an offer from the NFL to return this season to serve the 4 game suspension for smoking dope. He declined the offer and will be most likely be forced to pay back the 8.6 million he owes the Dolphins. Here is the reason he isn't going to take the offer.

He is now enrolled in a 17-month course at the California College of Ayurveda in Grass Valley, Calif., studying holistic medicine.

I actually had to look this one up. But it was what I thought it was.

Holistic medicine is a system of health care which fosters a cooperative relationship among all those involved, leading towards optimal attainment of the physical, mental emotional, social and spiritual aspects of health.

It looks like we are going to start seeing infomercials with Ricky in them at 0200!!

Come pray with me, Ricky Williams, Spiritual Guru. I will teach you that you also can be healed with what mother nature supplies us with. If it is put here on earth, why not smoke it?!?! It will take you to a place of great enlightenment!! Please send your donations to the Ricky Williams research fund. Our researchers (me) use these funds to develop new techniques (smoke dope) to help you. Send me a dime bag, I mean $40 to me now and help enlighten yourself and me!!!!!!!

Ricky and Artest are the same type of weridness!! You can see the fruitcake in their eyes. Tremendous talents, but flakey as hell, you could never trust them to do the right thing!!

I'm back they let me go around 2300 tonight, Looking forward to Sunday and seeing the Vicksters leg fold at a werid angle!!!! Ouch that hurt, sorry mike, The great white buffalo appeared in my dreams and foresaw a left handed man stepping in gopher hole and snapping leg...All I can determine from that is the Vick man going down.....

I guess it could have been Kenny the Snake Stabler. Vick is starting to understand that offense and that is scary. He knows when to run and when to slide like a women now!!

Just trying to get rid of the top competition. LHC may have Garcia back and that makes it more interesting this week.

Who Knows a injury at this point to one of your studs may mean the exit?

I didn't get them either. Vick didn't have a good game at all, but Muhammed and Chambers, scored and Dunn had his usual 7.5. I just hope that Alexander does something good so I don't lose my overall lead.

I had another good week with 130 scored. That should eat into the SC lead a little. I thought LHC would fall, not having a QB at this junction of the league is suicide.

Bledsoe finally outscored Culpepper...35-22..nice.
Westbrook had some serious recieving yards. Was hoping a SC fall after Vick was sad this week, but I guess he needs a little luck.

Just hoping to get to the finals.....Goodluck fellows

Hopefully too little too late. I need a big week out of Alexander to make up what Vick lost me!! I think I got 70 with Alexander left. If he stinks it up, I will need to be strong the whole way out. Oh well, I will be strong anyway. Gets REAL interesting from now on.

Mike your sounding a little nervous? I would too with the Ednecks breathing down my neck and my QB getting ready to go have surgery!! He He

I'm suddenly more afraid of the Shak Daddy?

Who goes this week, not a weak link left, unless you count C5's running backs.

I would gamble and say it will be one of the top three teams gone this week!!!

Man what a game!! I really didn't think Scotty's score was untouchable. We are basically playing with a regular lineup except for a defense. 175 will be tough to beat.

Not scared, nervous. My first week in awhile under 100. Vick will be fine. Anyone would be a little shaken up after the way he played Sunday. I don't think I concerned about Jim. Sorry Shak. He managed 76 points this week with 20 from his kicker. He WR's aren't the greatest and I don't think his RB's can pull him through any longer. He still maybe safe for another week. C5 looks to be the weakest link. We'll see.
