0 Subject: Survivor Week 16

All the stars were aligned for me last week and I scored my highest point total. I don't believe I can count on that again this week.

Here's a newsworthy item:
Michael Vick injured his shoulder in the Falcons' overtime victory Saturday night against the Panthers. Since Week 16's game has no bearing on the Falcons’ playoff status, the team could decide to play it safe with Vick and go with Matt Schaub. Coach Jim Mora said he would determine Vick's status later this week. Stay tuned.

Wouldn't that make things interesting??

Preview for week 16:

SuperClyde has all but wrapped up the high point total for the year -- he has 103 point lead on BigEd.
Vick & Dunn at NO -- Very good matchup, but Atlanta has little to play for. Vick and Dunn could be pulled early.
Alexander vs. Arizona -- Good matchup in a big game for both teams. Alexander at home should put up big numbers.
Muhammad at TB -- Tough matchup for MM. Points might be hard to come by.
Has Chambers going Sunday night and Bruce Monday night (vs Phil). May need points from both with uncertainty with V&D and tough MM matchup.

SSS has been the highest scoring survivor the past 3 weeks. Odds on favorite?
Green vs. Oak -- Super matchup. Should score big.
CMart vs. NE -- tough matchup especially since NE is coming off a loss and badly needs this win.
Heap at Pitt -- tough matchup in what should be low scoring game.
J Smith vs. Hous -- good matchup. Should get in the endzone.
SSS has a couple of tough matchups and may need Green to have a good game to advance.

Shak
Pennington & Moss vs. NE -- tough matchup. Points will be hard to come by. Moss coming off his best game of the year.
Carr & DD at Jax -- tough matchup. Houston passing offense has gone into the toilet.
Dillon at NYJ -- Dillon is on a roll and should be able to score.
Of the three teams, I have the toughest matchups.

Heart says SSS must go because he's on a roll.
Head says if Atlanta plays it safe and Vick sits, SC is in trouble.
Gut says the magic carpet ride is over. I had fun and can't wait for next year.

If Vick sits that would make it real tough for Clyde to survive IMO.

The whole Atlanta situation with Vick and company is the talk of the fantasy world and may hurt SC before it's all over? I hope not, it would be a shame, but when it goes to the seventeenth week it's a gamble and a certainity that a few studs will be rested for the playoffs. That's when the luck factor show's it's ugly head.

Shak nice take on the final three and I said you looked destined.....a little luck now and Momma's going to get a new pair of shoes!!!!

Good luck fellows and Merry Christmas...

Ednecks out and I'll take a look on Sunday night to see who the lucky SOB is.

Player Updates:
QB Michael Vick (Atl) did not practice on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for this weekend with his injured throwing shoulder. Early word is that it's not a serious injury but it might keep him out of this week's game.
Regardless of Vick's status, Mora envisions seeing plenty of backup QB Matt Schaub over the next two weeks. The Falcons end the regular season Jan. 2 at Seattle.

TE Todd Heap (Bal) did not practice on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for this weekend with his injured ankle.

WR Robert Ferguson (GB) will not play this weekend due to his injured neck and head. Ferguson was temporarily paralyzed by the hit from Donovin Darius but regained movement in all extremities last night.

It should be interesting. Mike, where are you? Don't you have a take for this week?

More bad news for Mike:
Coach Jim Mora indicated that rookie Jason Wright, signed last week off the practice squad, could see a lot of snaps against the Saints on Sunday so that Atlanta can preserve Dunn, the Associated Press reports. With the Falcons' playoff fate sealed, Dunn becomes one of those tricky players who could see less than his normal workload on Sunday.

VERY BUSY!! I am at home with the family, so it is their time. I can see my chances are slim this week, so unless the rest of my team can step up, I am SOL. I just hope I can hold off Ed for the top score. One can hope.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a Happy New Year.

Cheers!!

Am I correct in reading Jim's email that I made it to the final 2?!?!!

I will have to check up on the scores to see what exactly went on. I saw Muhammed had a great game, so I know he did well, but I will have to check the rest of the players!!

I haven't heard from anyone, so I'm assuming the stats are good. Should be a toss up this week, but at least we are guaranteed $100.

Congrats to the two finalists. SC did very well without a QB and he was the favorite from about week 12. Shak has validated his comments that he would be tough to beat if he got through his bye weeks, you can't argue with the Daddy and I did say he looked destined to win?

Shak I got your fees for next year, Enjoy being in the final and SC does look good if Vick plays?

SSS you should feel good being the best of the Kosovo group.

Later and Let me know about the playoff games?

Good luck Shak. You are a finalist here and in the contract league. Too bad we all don't get together and have a few beers and discuss the season. Boy, would that be a hoot. Ed would have to come with a suit of armor to protect himself from flying objects once people knew who he was. Just kidding. Good luck. I HOPE Vick plays. Scotty you 160 score would have been in trouble had Vick played. 175 IS untouchable.

Mike I'm loved all over the world! I'm better in person then over the internet. You know If I was a bad person the JHHH would have kicked me to the curb and then Moose (Craig) would have tried to save my soul? I've even tried buying the boys from Mildenhall lunch just too say no hard feelings...I'm a pussycat!!!

Good Luck boys....I'm ready now to win the playoff cash again for the second year in a row.

I won last year with that 70+ bomb to Muhammad in the final game...only way I could have won was a big night from him as nobody else was using him....now that's the luck of the Shak....If he wins this week, then drafting from the 18th slot is the place to draft...

I say next year the first pick gets to choose his draft position..maybe he likes slot #5 better then #1?

Next year we'll see who comes back but historically we have allowed the first team eliminated to pick his draft slot and so forth and so on.

Since the draft order has not been addressed, I don't think it's right to now say it will be based on a worse to first preference. I think it should be dem bones again and if you want to make rules like that, you need to draft up bylaws. Since you intend to keep this league going, I think you need bylaws anyway.

I also think it's unfortunate that the championship will be determined in week 17, when so many key players will be pulled early. My suggestion is to either end this one week earlier (with one less team), or let the final three go to a 2 week playoff in weeks 16 & 17. The total points of these two weeks will determine the champion, runnerup, and also-ran. I like that option better because it really sucks to finish third. At least this way, you have two weeks to garner enough points to get in the money.

Good luck, Mike. You really deserve to win it all. I'm just happy to be here.

I think that's fair. Rolling them bones is as random as anything, lets make sure we pick high or low before the rolls start coming in, that way it's definetely not any cheating after the fact ( not that Scotty would do such a thing). I don't like the idea that just because a guy finished last he gets a better shot the next year, maybe in a keeper league draft, but not in this format.

Finishing in week 16 is the best option and probably best to go down to seventeen teams and finish it then.

I'm game either way you decide.....it will be fun!!!

I agree with rolling the bones. It isn't fair that I automatically get the last pick, I am sure I would, just because I won. If it were some type of keeper league, I would say yes like Jim said. By laws are a must in any league I found out this year, painfully I might add. I did have help in getting frustrated though, right Ed!!
