Ok here we go. The purpose of the roll is to determine the pecking order that draft positions will be selected. Exact instructions are below, as your roll them bones I'll verify it was done right and post it here. An incorrect roll will not be counted. I'll repeat, an incorrect roll will not count. If you do it right you will get something that looks like this...

"scott.mccoy@andersen.af.mil requested that 2 rolls of a 100-sided die be rolled.

Roll them bones ... your dice are

Roll 1: 27.
Roll 2: 69.

Mail was sent to you at scott.mccoy@andersen.af.mil."

Roll #1 is your number. Roll #2 is the tiebreaker. The higher the number the better, 100 is the highest and 1 is the lowest. I copyed and pasted the page and posted your answer to each question below. You can request that someone else roll for you because it is impossible to cheat. If you would like someone to roll for you just post your email here and send the roll to me and you and it will be official.

Describe this roll:
How many dice would you like to roll? 1
How many sides are on each die? 100
Should anything be added or subtracted from the total roll? No
You can drop either the highest or lowest die roll (or both.) Don't drop anything

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The entire roll can be repeated; how many times? 2

93 for Ed is confirmed.

1) 93 Edneck
2) 75 RBP

And for the last time just to make sure you understand this roll is to determine the order for draft positions. If Edneck's 93 holds up he'll have first choice for draft position. He may decide to pick 5th, 10th, 12th, 1st whatever he wants. Then down to the next highest roll all the way down to 18. Then the order reverses for league #2 and Ed will be last to pick.

I think the odds of a stud getting hurt in preseason are dwarfed by the odds of being arrested, shot, or failing a drug test.

Ed -- I figure they'll want to wait and see if Ricky can get back to his playing weight before making that top 5 selection.

Chuck -- True. The odds of being busted on a drug test have gone way up now that the NFL knows of the whizzenator...no telling how many other clowns had that "tool" in their plans.

True, Most of last year we had to do without a player at some point during last year's Survivor,

Drafting early is a risk, but someone will lose anyway because of unseen circumstances during the season....I say lets get this over with, because most of have baseball and two or three football leagues we are either running or playing in.

Does anyone need time or have other issues that would stop you drafting for the next month? We already know about you Clyde...any real problems besides I need to study for two weeks and make lists!!!

Do like we did in my baseball league, start now and do away with the time limit until 1 Aug...make a pick as you wish or until you feel your getting abused for taking so long....No foul if it takes you a few days...from experience most people will make a pick in decent enough time.

I think the 93 and the 2 will hold up. I doubt Ed picks #1 (long wait to pick again (34 players go off the board) and I know I could not refrain from picking 1 and taking LT. I'll be happy though as I look back at the 2004 draft and feel comfortable in the 6-12 range in both. HHH picked 18th last season and I bet he doesn't do that again.

Another thing I dislike is when the QB run starts right after you pick and you know you won't pick for 26 picks. The fear of only having 1 QB will cause owners to pull the trigger earlier than they normally would.
54 GCobb

If you have the choice I think you have to take the #1 and go with LT. Having back-to-back picks is a luxury as well.

Knowing when the run will start is really the key to this whole thing. I guessed on the QB run and missed last year--wasn't competitive from the outset...it's painful watching the train wreck coming and being powerless to do anything about it.

And even worse, having to hear about it from the likes of Ajaye...where is he anyway?

AJAYE was transferred from Pristina to Bondsteel Kosovo to polish up his skillz in the FF game. OR he was transferred for disciplinary reasons because our CO commander was abusing her prescription medication, you decide which one is true. Sanders could figure it out I’m sure, if he ever shows up and rolls dem bones.

I doubt I'l be picking first someone will roll higher. IF I do, I just can't decide on a position. IT will be either 1-3 or 6-8. Getting the stud RB is important, but like I said it's a RB deep draft and is LT, Holmes, Alexander worth getting or do you drop and hope for the Jones brothers or a top notch WR or QB. I do like me some back-to-back action, it gives you a little freedom, just not sure about waiting 36 picks for my next two. The least amount someone has to wait for a pick is #9, which is 18 picks between selections...That could make a difference in the long run...I just don't think I can afford to pick #9 and then pick probably 14-17 in the next draft because I get last shot.

Hey It will be fun no matter what!! Supa is the Greengoblin!!!

HHH picked 17th last year. I picked 18th and lucked my way into the final week. I was lucky that Corey Dillon and Dominick Davis were still available. I could have also had T.O. Luckily, I backed off T.O., as his late season injury would have doomed me. Point being that there are still quality players at 18 and you can generally count on having two good players rather than one great and one mediocre if you were picking at the top.

You see Edneck.....your pick is easy just do what Ajaye would do and pick the obvious LT. Mine on the other hand....as of now I have three or four different RB's to choose from all just as good as the other one and will be scrutinized for whoever I pick. I would rather be 6-10th pick then second as I am now. Then I could pick westbrook and not be the laughing stock of this forum.

A little help in understanding the draft please... First,, Happy 4th to all especially those deployed!

Let me see if I have this right. The draft order is not set by the numbers we chose. Since BigEd, so far, has the highest number, he can pick which position he wants?? OK, so far I have the worst number and am going to get what ever is left 1-18. Now here's where I'm a little foggy. The second draft? If I end up with the lowest number, do I get to pick where I draft in the 2nd draft or do I just go to the oposite end of the 1-18. Example, if I'm 16 in the 1st, I would be 3rd in the second????

Terrell Owens, WR PHI

News: According to WPVI, a TV station in Philadelphia, Terrell Owens' name has been linked to a trade between the Eagles and Raiders. Oakland would give Philadelphia Jerry Porter in exchange for T.O.

Huge news for me and most Porter holders in keeper leagues. Imagine what Porter could do with a decent QB!! If I can just get Henry to a team he will be the featured back and Barlow can come out of his funk of last year, the dynasty contract league is mine!!

I am not worried about this league, it is just something to fill the time...yeah right. BTW Ed, I already HAVE my books and have been studying!! I hear this guy Case is pretty good!!

Not quite sure about Porter. I think some WRs are better number 2s than number 1s. Price is a perfect example. I would be surprised if this trade went through. Moss and Owens??? I think they would end up killing each other or planting whizinators in each others luggage.

TO and Moss -- which one do you double cover? I think if you had to pick, you'd have to double cover Moss. He has more speed and is absolutely lethal on the deep balls. Can you imagine if they were on the same team and TO starts seeing a lot more passes than Moss? I don't see how the Raiders can pull this trade even though Moss for Porter sounds like a steal.

btw FNAS, GCobb is right in that if you have the last choice in the first draft (lowest number rolled), you will have your choice of draft positions in the 2nd draft. Question is, do you want a similar draft position in both leagues or completely opposite. Will you try to draft the same players (especially sleepers) or do you want no common players?

I can't imagine who would be the bigger idiot in the huddle. It is a shame these two are so talented that they think that they can just do what they want at anytime. I do have a solution though. Have Miami trade Oakland R. Williams and he can use his "healing" powers that he learned in guru school to help keep the calm. Although there would be a serious run on Cheetos on the sidelines!!

Help?? Me?? NEVER, even if I need it. I have room to talk, you don't. At least here anyway. I drafted an all around solid team last year and just had a few go off and was pretty lucky with injuries.

Draft position is going to be crucial. So do you take 1-3 and put all of your eggs in one basket? Or do you take 7-10 and try to draft a decent side on both drafts?? Decisions, decisions. Nice twist on things Scotty, you made it that much more difficult to prepare for this thing!!

Ed, first off the rock!!

I guess now would be a good time to give my bio. Originally from Hawaii, I now live in beautiful Sierra Vista, Arizona, where I work for Northrop Grumman. I'm a big fan of the University of Arizona, especially the basketball and girls softball teams (can you say Jennie Finch!). My hobbies are my family and sports (not necessarily always in that order). Four school aged kids keep me pretty busy. My two biggest kicks, aside from ffl, are playing golf and poker and, luckily, I can do both year round in Arizona.

I retired last year from the Force after 22 years as a linguist. I served at Osan, DM, Clark, Hurlburt, and Kadena twice. Needless to say, my favorite tour was Clark -- shortest two years of my life! It was at Kadena that I met Scotty, Tim, and Kris (Grim Reaper).

I have been playing ffl for quite a few years. I can still remember my first year, when my first pick was Red Grange. Boy, was he tough! I used to play in as many as nine ffls each season, but have had to cut back to four or five. I will only play in money leagues now. My favorite ones are this one, the contract league (with Scott and Clyde), and the keeper leagues on Antsports.

If anyone is ever in my area, please look me up.

Mike, lets say I get the first pick for position in the first draft. I select position #6. I still get the last choice in the second draft...say the only thing left is slot #17. Your making it sound like if I select position #18 in the first draft I automatically get position #1 in the second draft..doesn't work that way. At least that's the way your making it sound?

That T.O. trade will never happen..not possible to make each ego happy. Plus where do they get the cash to pay those contracts? Mike I was glad you won last year, I've never seen you win anything, so I was rooting for you...we bash on each other, but you know I still think your a Cool guy no matter how heated it gets....

I did finsh in fourth last year from position #13, so it's not like I left early, I had a chance to win it all with a little luck. beleive me luck plays a major factor in this league..I can name at least five other teams that were better then me, you and Shak last year..You can tell the ones that finish high in every league and most of all the competitions..In all my leagues you see the same faces every year at the top or in the playoffs...Tribe, RBP, Trashman, HHH, GCobb, Shak and I would like to include myself...You see those same faces for a reason....Your making a push to get your face in that crowd...I may be talking nonsense, but we all know its very true...If I left you out it's either because you stink, or I havn't played with you yet!!!

The two drafts are independant of each other. I know it may sound confusing, but I'll try again.

Draft #1
We have two draft orders for draft #1. We roll bones to determine who gets to pick "Draft slots" first (highest to lowest). Meaning if Ed's 93 holds up he can pick any position he wants from 1-18. After he picks the guy with the second highest roll picks his draft position and so forth and so on down to FNAS who gets the scraps. This concludes this process for now.

Draft #2
We have two draft orders for draft #2. We roll bones to determine who gets to pick "Draft slots" first (lowest to highest). Meaning if FNAS's 2 holds up he can pick any position he wants from 1-18. After he picks the guy with the second lowest roll picks his draft position and so forth and so on down to Edneck who gets the scraps. This concludes this process for now.

Once both orders are set then we will start both drafts on August 10th. Yes it will keep you busy for 10-14 days but we seem to have a very active group as usual. The problem we run into is guys all over the world, so send a short list to someone you trust when you go to bed. We'll discuss that more later.

Shak,,

I've been pretty successful in FFL. The one thing that does that for me is to never have a set plan. Do as much research as you can, never listen to the magazines and trust your own research. I know you questions are rhetorical but they are good ones. That's what makes the draft fun. With a little luck, I would like to think that I can win from either end of the draft. I think the best phrase I've seen was from an earlier post, its always better to start the run. What better place to do that than at 18? You have more aggressive and have to take more chances. I can't wait!!

Chuck you will not end up with 18 IMO. Somebody will take that slot before it gets to you. I do however think you'll be in the 14-17 range without a doubt. Now when you get to pick first teh tables are turned and you can get the premium spot, whatever you may determine that to be (1? 5? 9? 12?).

Ed, I wasn't saying it was a guarantee you would be picking 18th in the second draft, but the probability is there. I can't imagine you getting s slot above 16 though, if that is the case then there were some oddball choices made in front of you.

Research in this league is different than in a regular FFL. In this league you have to first look at the player and his abilities and then look how durable he is. If you are in the #4 spot, do you take Holmes who has a huge payout when he isn't injured or do you take A. Green who will play all season but won't have nearly the points. I almost tend to believe that safer is the way to go here. You don't need to be the highest scoring team each week, just not the lowest. Seems easier than it is. There were a great many games last year decided on Monday night between 4-5 teams.

That's the beauty of this format. You just can't read a Magazine or web site and pick the next best player(s) on a list you have to factor in, Durability, Bye weeks, Consistency ( a guy like say Porter or Chambers who are up and down all year long may not be as good as WR's ranked way below them who get you 50-60 yards most every week). This format is great because you have to have a gameplan going into the draft...If you don't I can guarantee you will struggle. I definetely learned from last year..Gambling on rookies to give you points early in the season is a bad plan in this format. I have to admit I enjoyed this more then any FFL I have played before in the past....Great concept by Scotty and Whomever!!!!

It is a close one in baseball, at least you aren't winning going into Sunday's games and lose, even though I am up less than one point, I am still winning. Two starts left to your one. I have Clemens and Burhle. I hope the bullpen can hold up for the Rocket this time. He is getting royally screwed this year for wins!!

Just to catch up on some previous posts:
I vote for option # 1, Scottie's payout system.

To introduce myself, I'm Buddy Gerhardt, 12 years in the USAF, been stationed at Dyess, TX on C-130's and Mildenhall, England on KC-135's, C-130's, and H-53's. Headed to Little Rock (back to the Herks!) in August.
I'm a fantasy nut, having played baseball, football, hockey, hoops, and Nascar. I know about 8 of our owners, and have played FF or baseball with a handful of the others. Looks to be a fun year.

FYI, I'll leave Mildenhall on 30 July, and arrive Little Rock the end of August. I'll be on leave in between, but should be near a computer. I'l send lists or be on-line, no worries.

Ah, Ed, nice to see you so peaceful again!! If the draft were to start, I would have to do something!! The reason I wanted the draft to wait last time was that I was in the middle of PCS'ing back here, so I needed that time to get my affairs in order to be at peace at the draft!! That worked?!?! NOT!!

I won't be playing the Pain Game this year. I have too many leagues already and I will be in the desert for most of FF season, so playing in leagues is going to be tough for me this year. R. Jeffcoat is supposed to be down there with me at the same time, so he maybe able to hook us up. I just won't have time to commish a league, play in 3 others and baseball. Feel free to take over though.

Oh, Ed this is going to be a wing-ding of a season isn't it? You are already shooting off your mouth and we haven't even determined draft order yet!! You won't scare off most of us with your garbage spewing, but you might intimidate a few. Your tough talk doesn't cut it with most. We all know you are just a pussycat hiding behind the monitor in your computer room with posters of Samantha Fox and Rollie Fingers and Earl Cambell. Fantasy magazines spread everywhere. Cheat sheets scribbled on tacked to the wall. Your printer constantly printing the latest updates from 100 different websites you subscribe to so you can figure out who to draft or start. WOW a monitored Big Brother?!?! That sounds like some computer wienies without a job!! Well if you get hassled about going there, just explain that there is a DOUBLE draft taking place and your strict attention is needed:o)

If you are getting blocked or called out, we will have to try and set it up on e-mail. Whomever picks in front and behind you might be able to paste the entire draft to you so you can get a heads up. If they are unwilling or forget to, we will have a mass e-mail going out to let people know it is their turn, just respond and someone will cut and paste it for you. No worries, we will figure something out.

I was the LAN Manager at GK and there is a number of way's and programs to monitor or block sites. They can use the Firewall or System Routers to block anything they feel is deemed a No go site!! I would get a list of the top 50 sites visited on a monthly basis, My Boss would say weather to block a site or not..The rules say Government Computer can only be used for Official reason's only...blah blah!! The good LAN guys will block both URL and IP addresses. So it just depends on how servere your LAN guys are, I havn't been around for 5 years but I'm sure Ramstein govern's the Whole of Europe and set's down what procedures they want implemented as far as blocking sites. You may use the Paypal option to pay me. I'll also pay you if you win in teh same manner. Register at paypal and send me at..........

Very easy to use and it's an outstanding tool considering we all literally all over the world.

$40 is the total, 100% of the entry fees go back to the winners, can't beat that.

Uh oh, when you send me 40 I actually get $38.54. $1.46 x 18 = $26

So what do we do? Either send me $41.50 or the payouts will be tweaked slightly. I say pay $41.50 to make it easier.
