1.01 LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, SD

First, I took the number one pick because I felt like the starting running back pool was deep enough that I could still get two solid backs. And having simultaneous picks is always nice.

Tomlinson was a no brainer. How many guys can have an off season and still be among the top players in the league? There are a few who can, but Tomlinson is still young and (hopefully) far from any physical breakdowns. I think those factors put him in a league of his own right now.

1.02 Shaun Alexander

Took the two spot because I REALLY wanted SA. Given the pool of good-yet-ball-dropping receivers Seattle has, I am pretty confident that they will still rely heavily on their running game, which means SA gets a bunch of carries every game.

1.03 Willis McGahee

I like McGahee. He was the best "full year" back left. By that I mean that yeah Priest may score more points in the weeks they both play but I think he'll miss time and I'll have my number one back still scoring for me.

Now of course Priest will play all 16 games after I've said this...

I took 3rd because I work midnights and sleep during the day so something close to wrap around is good for me and the draft (don't have to worry too much since my picks aren't spread out much and don't hold things up)

1.06 Edgerrin James

I selected the #5 spot with the intention of taking Manning. But when James slipped to me I didn't know what to do.

I followed conventional wisdom and took the RB. This is a contract year for James and he will be looking to prove that he is worth some serious cash this offseason.

On a side note I would not be suprised if he resigns with the Colts, after a new collective bargining agreement is signed that significantly raises the salary cap.

We'll see.

1.04 Priest Holmes

If healthy, Holmes is probably the best back in the league. However, of course, his health is the key. Right now he says he's only between 75 and 80% healthy, but hopefully that will increase by 20% by the start of the season.

1.08 Corey Dillon

I was here to take a RB and had a choice between Martin, Dillon, Portis. Portis would have been the obvious choice but I was worried about the team around him. I dont see a start improvement there and I didnt think he would get enough scoring chances. Martin continues to be productive but age is a concern. Dillon is on a great team and still has a chip on his shoulder. He's had little injury problems and still has some legs left. So I went with him.

1.09 Rudy Johnson, RB, Cin
This was between Rudy and the Jones-es. I really liked Julius and Kevin, but they are still young and I am not a huge fan of young RBs. I have had some expierence, and success with Rudy in the past and I can say that even if i didn't draft him, I'd root for him anyway. The 9th pick was given to me, but my strategy for the first 3 rounds towards the middle of the draft order is get a Top 10 RB and a Top 5 QB then get a second tier RB. I feel as if I stole the bank with my second rounder. We'll see...

1.10 Kevin Jones, RB, Det

I was hoping someone would slip, but my top 8 were gone by the first 8 picks. After that, there were several running backs ranked similarly. I picked the young back in K. Jones with hope that he sustains the strong end to his rookie season.

1.11 Clinton Portis, RB, Was

With the offensive line looking substantially better (Jon Jansen's healthy), I believe that Portis will be a top ten back. Drafting at 1.11, I drafted the highest player available on my cheatsheet.

1.12 Jamal Lewis, RB, BAL

Sitting in the twelve spot, my plan was to get the best available RB. In Jamal Lewis, I have a back that can put up huge numbers when defenses are keying in on him. Now with an improved passing game in Baltimore, defenses can no longer stack eight in the box, which should help his numbers. I’m hoping the Jamal’s off field issues are behind him, and that he returns to his form of two years ago.

1.13 Randy Moss, WR, Oak

Althought it may not appear to be the case, I was not smoking anything with Randy when I chose the 13th spot. I thought this would give me 2 solid players, and I felt there was a drop in quality midway through Rd 2. What I failed to realize was the even larger drop in quality RBs midway through Rd 3.

I considered Barber and Davis here, but thought one of them might slip to me at 2.02. I think Randy is by far the top WR and warrants a Rd 1 selection - 1400 yds and 15 TDs seems realistic.

2.09 Torry Holt

The 3 players that I really wanted here were taken in the 4 prior draft spots. I will gladly take Holt as my #1 receiver. Hopefully the St. Louis offense regains some spark and Holt catches the majority of the balls.

1.07 Peyton Manning, QB, IND
One of the reasons I chose the 7th spot I ran through my draft analyis formula data system figuring one of my 3 RB would still be on the board. I was wrong as normal. Spending hundreds of hours reading draft techiques all of them saying to draft a RB in the 1st round. So I draft a QB! Who most likely isnt the Top QB but as a true PACKER FAN. I could never have a Viking on my team. I didnt feel the remaining RB's were as enticing as Manning. My expectations are that he WONT come close to 49 TD's but 30's with 4000 yards is just fine. My 3 RB's were McGahee, James, and McAllister.

2.07 Brian Westbrook

I was actually considering him for my first round pick but I thought he might be available as a second rounder. He is very underrated, gains as many total yards as most backs, and is a key to Philly's offense. I am very happy with getting him at this spot.

3.06 J.J. Arrington

RBs have normally done well in Dennis Green's systems and Arrington was a very productive back in college. Arrington should be the starter in Arizona and with the passing game in Arizona hopefully that will open up the run.

This could be one of the picks that defines my season. I either have a weekly starter, or I am going to be digging on the waiver wire each week.

Sorry for falling behind:

2.02 Julius Jones, RB, Dal

With the 13th pick, I was happy knowing that I would get 2 out of 4 good players (Moss, D. Davis, Tiki, J Jones). Since SR took Davis and Tiki, the Jones pick was somewhat automatic. While Green and Martin have both posted great numbers in previous years, I think there are a lot of questions about their prospects for this year, and with Jones's upside (I've seen him go 1st round in a number of drafts) I am glad to have him as my RB1.

3.13 Darrell Jackson, WR, Sea

In hindsight, this may have been a bit of a reach, but Jackson always seems to quietly put up solid numbers, and if he learns to squeeze the ball, he can easily put up comparable stats to the top tier guys - I'll hope for 1,100 yds and 10 TDs from my WR2.

2.3 Ahman Green, RB, GB

My strategy for the first two rounds was to get two RB's. I was hoping Julius Jones or Dominick Davis would fall to me here, but am happy with Ahman. There are more question marks surrounding Green, especially with change in the O-Line, but still feel he was better then the rest of the RB's out there.

3.12 Nate Burleson, WR, MIN

With Moss out of Minnesota, Culpepper's gonna need someone to throw to. Enter Nate Burleson. Nate should post up good yardage numbers, while I'm also hoping that he finds the endzone a couple more times.

4.02 Chris Brown, RB, Ten

By taking Moss in the first round and not getting a 2nd running back until the 44th overall pick, I knew I wouldn't get anything spectacular, and I ended up with a crap shoot. Although Brown is a substantial injury risk, he also has a lot of upside while he is (relatively) healthy. The Titans have said they want him to be involved in the passing attack, which should be an added bonus for a guy who had almost 100 yds per game last year. I considered Warrick Dunn and Kevan Barlow here too, but I liked Brown's upside more.

2.05 Marvin Harrison, WR, Ind

The top tier RB were gone at this point, and I thought I'd get more for my money with Marvin. Plus, this was a homer pick, as a Hoosier and Colts fan I'll be watching all their games anyways, so I might as well have extra incentive to root for them...

3.10 Reggie Wayne, WR, Ind

See above... I was trying to be strategic here. There were two running backs that I was debating. But of the 4 teams picking before my next pick, only 1 didn't have 2 backs already. So, I figured I'd pick who I saw as the top WR available (plus another Colt), and then get my RB next pick. Unfortunately, both Dunn and Brown were picked right before my next pick.

4.05 Kevan Barlow, RB, SF

Forced to pick between second-rate starters (after Dunn and Brown were snatched from my grasp) and promising backups to fill my second RB position, I opted for Barlow. Not expected anything great here, but it would be nice if he puts up some good games and stays healthy.

3.08 Tony Gonzalez

There's no doubt he is the best TE of this era, and possibly the best of all time when it is all said and done. His numbers stack up to any WR available here so this was a no-brainer in my opinion.

4.07 Tom Brady

I was targeting QB in ths round figuring a top-5 would still be available. I had my eye on Trent Green, but being gone, I opted for Tom Brady, who always finds a way to put up good numbers game in and game out. I'm happy to have him here.

4.09 Hines Ward, WR, PIT

Last year Ward was a top 5 WR pick. I don't know why he has slipped so much this year, but he will still be the goto guy for Rothelisajalkjf. He isn't flashy, but he gets the job done.

4.03 Trent Green, QB, KC

My short list for this pick was Trent, Bulger, and Gates. s_R obviously made this pick rather easy for me. Trent is the field general of the Cheifs offense. He’s seen an increase in his numbers in each of the last three seasons. And the Cheifs defense is still subpar, at best; meaning Trent should be airing it out quite often. Overall this is a safe pick, that gets stabilizes my QB situation

2.11 LaMont Jordan, RB, Oak
Was pleased to nab Jordan at this spot. He showed flashes carrying the ball as a backup for the Jets last season, and he finally gets to be the go to guy in Oakland. The air attack with Collins, Moss, and Porter should open up the field for Jordan, and I expect a very solid season from him.

3.04 Javon Walker, WR, GB

After going RB-RB, I aimed at getting a WR (although I did consider Carnell a little but felt a possible stud WR was more valuable than depth at RB). Many don't expect Walker to repeat his brilliant campaign from last year, but I'm hoping for him to come close being my WR1.

4.11 DeShaun Foster, RB, Car

I looked at getting another WR here, and although there were some impressive options available, I didn't feel comfortable picking one of the many WRs clumped together and hoping he could turn out to be the best of the bunch. So, I went with depth at RB with who is probably one of the last non RBBC backs. He may be the Marcus Camby and JD Drew of the NFL, but hopefully he stays somewhat healthy this year. I also considered Michael Bennett here but then realized he would have the same bye week as my two main RBs.

5.04 Jake Plummer, QB, Den

The third QB taken in a row (after Vick and Collins), and if I had my choice between all 3, I may still go with Plummer. Plummer had a breakout year in 04 throwing for 4000 yards and 27 TDs and adding 200 on the ground plus a score which made him the 5th highest scoring QB under this scoring system (and was taken 10th in this draft). For this pick to be justified, Plummer will have to near repeat his numbers from last year, and I don't think there will be much preventing him from doing so.

5.06 Matt Hasselbeck, QB, SEA

I was hoping to grab Hasselbeck in a lower round, but after the team picking twice before it got back to me I wasn't willing to take that risk. Hasselbeck knows the WC offense and with his new receivers and the loss of the alcoholic he should put up numbers similar to 03 and not 04. If he does this will be a great pick.

3500 yards and 20 TDs are a minumum, but 4000 yards and 25 would be pretty nice.

1.05 Deuce McAllister

Going in with the 5th pick I told myself I would draft a RB in the first round no matter what and Deuce was 5th on my board. He had an injury riddled year last year, but I look for him to bounce back and perform like he can and should.

2.10 Chad Johnson

Post solid numbers and im sure that the more time with Palmer is only going to increase those. I considered taking a RB here, but decided to wait till my next pick

3.05 Cadillac Williams

Was hoping that Jordan would fall to me here, but knew it was a stretch as Da Bomb pick him up. Decided to go with the Rookie here. Its a high risk high reward pick.

4.10 Brett Favre

I was very happy to land Favre in this spot. The man just continues to posts top 5 qb numbers year in and year out. Im looking for 3300 yards and 30 tds from him this year.

5.05 Brian Urlacher

This was my toughest pick of the draft. Going in a thought I was going to take a TE, but talked myself out of it. After sitting there staring at my list for about 20 minutes I took Urlacher, partly because hes a beast and partly because im a bears fan. The way I look at it is with the Bears offense so enimic he will spend a lot of time on the field. More time = more tackles, int, sacks, etc. Heres to Brian being Defensive player of the year :)

5.13 Cedric Benson, RB, Chi

Another risk/reward guy joins my RB group, as I take one of the last remaining holdouts. Given his potential upside, I think he is a good value here. My hope is that he will be coming into form by the time Brown inevitably gets hurt. If there a gap there, I will be relegated to surfing the waiver wire.

5.08 Drew Bennett

My first WR came later than most but I think I still got quality here. Bennett will be the #1 WR in TEN and even though he's more of speed guy he should still do really well. The risk is that he was a flash in the pan and because he is a speed guy, may not get enough balls consistently.

6.02 Carson Palmer, QB, Cin

I think I got a little caught up in the hype of Palmer now that I see Aaron Brooks, who is probably pretty equal, go in the 8th round. I figured with the number of teams that had not drafted a QB at this point, that everyone in this tier would be gone by the time it got back to me. But, it is hard to figure out what is going to happen over 24 picks, and I guessed wrong. Palmer does have some good WR talent and a strong running game, so there definitely is some upside. I need at least 3500yds / 25TD for this pick to pay off.

6.09 Duce Staley, RB, PIT

I made this pick as Duce is a steady producing in yards, but Bettis got most of the TDs last year. Hopefully this year Duce will be able to punch it into the endzone on occasion. I don't plan on using Duce as a regular starter, but is a more than capable back-up if something happens to my other two backs. He was also one of the non-RBBC backs left.

6.11 Todd Heap, TE, Bal

I wanted an upper echelon TE going into the draft, and I feel the top six TEs compose that. After I made my 5th round pick, I hoped that at least one of Crumpler, Heap, and Shockey would make it all the way back to me for this pick, and fortunately enough, one survived. I'm a little worried about Heap's health, but if he stays healthy, he should put up big numbers and could possibly finish the year as the second best TE.

7.06 Pittsburg, DEF

I don't normally go for a top DEF, but in a 14 team league I realize that the waiver wire is going to be a huge gamble and I feel that I can play Pittsburg most weeks without a fear of getting a negative for the week.

7.08 Rodney Harrison

While looking at defensive stats, I noticed a very funny thing: A DB right there with all the top LB's in tackles. This was an easy choice for my first DEF player in the draft as he's head and shoulders above the other DB's. Having Harrison is like having 3 LB's starting, so I'm very pleased to have gotten him here. His age is a concern, but with the way he's used he won't need the legs he once had.

8.09 Terrence McGee, DB, BUF

McGee is a the starting CB for the Bills and also the PR/KR for the team. Last year the Bills were the top ranked special teams team and I hope the trend continues. While DBs don't normally rank as high as safeties, the added points from returns moved him up my rankings.

8.07 Marshall Faulk, RB

I figured I needed a backup RB of some quality and Marshall was the only one I could see getting enough playtime. He doesnt run like he used to, but he can still catch a pass or two, so I think he will make a decent sub if he can stay healthy. I can't believe it's only been 3 years since this man was a concensus #1 pick.

Word in Indianapolis is that Stokley, might miss the first game of the season, but could play. I needed a 3rd receiver and Stokley is the 3rd receiver for one of the highest scoring teams in the league. While I doubt that he will get 1000 yards and 10 TDs this year, 700+ yards a TD every other week or so seems reasonable.

2.06 Daunte Culpepper QB MIN
The #2 Quarterback, I was surprised to see he was still on the board. I probably should have gone RB in retrospect but what can you do now?
3.09 Lee Suggs RB CLE
I was hoping he'd have a really good preseason and convince Romeo (and Juliet) Crennel that he'd be a legit #1. If not i see plenty of red zone oppertunities.?
4.06 Steve Smith WR CAR
Always a favorite of Delhomme, now he's the #1 with Mushin going to Death Valley for WR. Hopefully he can put up numbers close to Mushin's.
5.09 Donald Driver WR GB
A #2 WR for one of the greatest QBs of all time, this should be another 1000 yd 10 TD season
6.06 Plaxico Burress WR NYG
Just what Eli needs, a big time WR. Plaxico should get 1200 with about 13 TDs
7.09 Dallas Clark TE IND
I am a big Colts fan and Dallas is the best. 'nuff said.
8.06 Julius Peppers DL CAR
This man is a beast. He can catch any player in the NFL from behind and tackle them. He will have 16 sacks and at least 4 Forced Fumbles.
9.09 Carolina Defense DEF CAR
A top 5 defence with extreme passrushing and a great secondary. They don't allow points and force plenty of TO's.

7.13 Rod Smith, WR, DEN

At this point I felt there were a few WRs left before a significant dropoff, so I went with the aging, but still productive, Smith. For a WR3, he should do nicely. 900 yds and 7 TDs, hopefully.

8.02 Deion Branch, WR, NE

With the WR position being so unpredictable, I decided to take 4 solid WRs. If Branch is healthy, he could have a breakout year, and I figure the 8th round is a good place to gamble on a player like that. He will make a solid WR3 when my other receivers have byes or are injured. Plus, Jim Nantz really likes this guy, so who am I to argue with him.

9.13 Drew Brees, QB, SDG

A dumb pick here - I failed to recognize that Brees and Carson Palmer have the same bye week (10). I like SDG's playoff week matchups and I wanted some insurance in case Palmer is a bust. Plus, Palmer plays PIT/BAL 2x each, and Brees plays OAK/KAN 2x each, so they should be a good tandem. I am afraid of Rivers in the wings, but in the 9th round, who cares.

10.02 London Fletcher, LB, BUF

I confess I could not have named 5 LBs without looking at an IDP cheatsheet, so I have little to offer in terms of a rationale here. His stats looked pretty solid from from the past few years, and I've seen predictions for 140 tackles, so I'll give him a whirl.
