This is for the ECC and the JBC. "myfantasyleague" will send out updates and so will those who are trying to expedite things. Round a day is the goal at a bare minimum. Thanks

The old JBC link is no longer valid. The league is still there, but that is for 2004. Make sure you go to the new JBC and set up your draft cards there.

JHHH will not know about the change and is in Aviano playing Softball, I know he picks 4th in the ECC, so you boys may have a wait? He set his projections before he left...I'd hate to see him get skipped! Contingency Plan, If we can get a hold of him! I logged in to the knew JBC and I see no team with player projections set?

JHHH picks 17th in the JBC. I can see it now, a few owners preselected just like I asked and I appreciate it. Now we have a last minute change that will more than likely set us back at least a day. Hope I'm wrong.

On a side note I holed out a lob wedge from about 40 yards away for Eagle yesterday on a short par 4. Jimbo I thought you might like that.

HHH will be ok, certainly he'll check in daily. I've been on that trip to Aviano, he'll find time during the day to go by the library at least once. I'm about to leave in 30 minutes, will be back after noon to make my pick. Tempted to do it now and get things rolling.......

Your probably right, is the library open on a Sunday. He's really into this, so I'm sure he'll be looking for a way to check daily. We are talking about JHHH, A guy who leaves a case of beer or bottle of Jack in the Car during MOT's as a bribe!!!

I've ridden in his vans, probably need a CASE of JACK to get them to pass :-)

On a side note I bribed a guy in Okinawa to do the same thing, used a case of Budweiser, only in Japan it is the JCI. Do they have that crap in the States? Haven't lived there in over 10 years so I do not recall?

JBC is underway! ECC is underway!

Roll on.

Neither of these drafts get interesting until pick #6 IMO. The top 5 guys in both leagues will be the same, but who goes 6th?

STB and GCCobb both are in Alaska and both are OTC.

I don't see how to make picks. I do see how to add players to a draft card. Is that how they get picked? You add the player to your draft card and it just takes it? I hope we make through the first round before Monday.

Maybe a breakdown of how you make preselections is in order. I would detail it, but the little ones just got up, so my internet time has just ended for awhile. Post it here and send it in an e-mail in case people aren't looking here even though they should:o)

I just picked in the ECC and am a little surprised at Brady being picked so early and STB getting a steal with McGahee at #10. Interesting. Had to take a Packer. Great pick at 12 with Jamal. Jail should have hardened him up and with no passing game, it is all good.

I have to cut out here in a few hours to take my dog to the airport to ship her. Shouldn't be gone too long and will be checking in all around the clock.

No wife, no kids, no dog, no job = NO PROBLEM!

I think Dillon may have gone 17 last year also.

McGahee at #10 seems to jump out slightly to me as a real good value pick. So far only the Brady picks surprised me.

Reports, league, draft.

Chuck your picking in my old spot at 17 and 20. I was hoping for the two Jones's (K and J) or another player that has yet to be drafted so I'll with hold his name for now. I would have missed the boat but the players available to you to pair with Dillon look good IMO.

Who screws up first with two top picks with the same bye week? It will happen even with me sending out this warning.

Here is the 2005 draft order:
1. TrashHaulers 2. Texas FNAS 3. Barstow Bombers 4. CanOpeners 5. BigKatz 6. RBP 7. Spokane Supermen 8. Sixpacks 9. FUBAR 10. Alconbury HaVoC

I figure HaVoc keeps 2 (C-Pep and Portis). FUBAR keeps 1, maybe two if he keeps Holt. Sixpacks keeps 2 (Lewis McGahee). Super keeps 2 of Deuce, Tiki and Harrison.

That leaves me with A. Green, S. Jackson, and Mike Vick to more than likely choose from. I'm hoping that FUBAR keeps Holt and that could net me A. Green. Green and Alexander is a nice start, IMO.

Not sure how many owners kept players last year? Giving up my second rounder seems worth it, worst case I just draft Jackson again and press on. Going to take a 3 hour nap, I'll be back.

Didn't really want the same #1 in both league's, but that's how it works when you set pre-selections from 15 picks out. Portis's number were pretty decent last year and the concenus was he had a bad year because he didn't score TD's..agreed, but If he adds 5-6 more of those then he's a steal @15 and a decent draft @#10. Eggs in one basket was not my tradegy, but I got nine other guys to compliment him. We'll see, could be huge or a bust.

Brady Pick? I'm not sold on McGahee, so that was a decent pick STB, but value for money no doubt.

Going rather slowly?

Now the question is giving up the #1 pick LT for Portis and moving from 72 to 46 was that worth it...a question not probablt answered until the smoke clears!!

Ed,,

I see your point. Damn tough to pass at 15 but I honestly think its a crap shoot with about 4 other players at 10. None of the 5 would have been a bad pick. I watched Washinton Friday night. I don't even know if they played friday night. The NFL network runs games all day and night no matter when they played. Anyway, the O line looked pretty good with their run packages. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to be a pocket passer behind the same line. You would be very sore come Monday morning.

I picked Portis last year at #1 in a league I was invited into. Didn't watch much preseason and saw the first game Washington played. 1st play from scrimmage was a 60+ yard run from Portis. It was impressive. The line gave him a hole and he darted through it like greased lightning. That was the last of that for the season. Until the line in Washington improves and can prove it, Portis won't put up the numbers he did in Denver.

How can TB make one pick and then wait another 20+ minutes so far for the next? It does look like he predrafted the first pick, but why not do the second as well in back to back picks? Frustrating!! Not trying to piss anyone off here, but this is the first draft I have been in this year so far and I am Jones-ing for a pick!! I will just sit back and watch TV for awhile waiting for the draft to continue.

The Talent is there. Gibbs will change things around eventually. All I ask is a few more TD's and a few more catches. The O-Line has improved. I was not big On J. Lewis, Rudi, or Dillon, just not enough recieving yards to counter the games were they don't rush for much against a tough def. Some like him, some think he's overrated. We will see.

Everyone else happy with the first round picks? Any other complaints or cheers.

Sure, Gibbs can turn it around, but in time? Who knows?

I actually got to just watch a segment of SC with Skip Bayless. This guy is a major loser. I think that the producers actually take the subject they are going to discuss, find out which angle is going to offend the most people and run with it. In the short time watching this, he managed to piss me off about 3 times in the 5 subjects he discussed, but I agreed with him the other two. He is very vocal and opinionated and actually would watch him again to see the other side and scream at the TV that he is an idiot!! There is no middle ground with him. For or idiot!!

We are on JHHH pick now in the JBC and it doesn't look like he has access in Aviano. I don't think it's fair If we let him pass the 12 hour-time limit just because of an error he had no control over. Not sure what to do, but we can't let 2-3 rounds pass bye before he gets to select his players?

Suggestions? I think if someone is going to be gone for a few days, they should at least give the keys to their franchise to a trusted agent. Just my 2 cents. I suppose we could pause the draft for a few days.

I vote we pause. Jon did what he was supposed to do and that is why he isn't checking the board. If I preselected, it wouldn't be in my first interest to see who I got if I were away. I say we wait.

In fact Sc, it was you that suggested I try to back door the firewall "FNAS, try sending the link directly to this webpage to your e-mail and see if Big Brother will let you in that way. We had the same problem just typing in rotoguru, but by cut and pasting the direct link we are able to bypass BB. One of the few things I have managed to get past BB. It is only a matter of time before they catch on to this one." Rules are rules. Lets press.

JBC is moving along nicely now. RBs are flying off the board! 16 in first round and now 2 out of first 3. If they keep going off at this pace, I may have to go with best available -- WR and hope for a RB in round 4. I may regret taking Manning at #1.

You were right Shak, but I do think Owens had a lot to do with that, scaring folks away from himself and McNabb.

I had a few picks preselected for the 2nd round, but I wasn't going to take the chance and make a big list and then get stuck with my first two picks being qb's or something.

Owens may have had some effect on the 1st round, but 16 RBs in the first? And 19 out of the first 22 picks. That's a definite statement. I'm a little concerned that Brady has gone early in both drafts by two different owners. Am I missing something here?

GCobb had his password in time to make his first pick. He should be making his pick shortly.

Despite the fact that I had to reset the JBC, it is actually four picks ahead of the ECC. I think the ECC will soon be pretty far ahead of the JBC once the draft picks are reached.

I'd like to say I saw it coming, I thought one decent back would be left at 26. You may be right about the trade if I get these picks 36,37,46 correct. You never know I only had Westbrook last year and survived a long time, you just need to get one RB that produces and you be back in business.

I thought you were "Jones-ing" to make some picks, Superclydes? Riddle me this Batman, what is more frustrating; 1) One owner holding up one draft while he was sleeping, deciding to not pre-select 14 players because he wanted to make sure he didn't grab 2 players with the same bye week with his first 2 picks or 2) one owner holding up both drafts?

Not trying to piss in your wheaties either, but I wanted to make sure you understood my reservations about pre-selecting both picks. If there was trading or FA pick-ups allowed after the draft, I might have pre-selected both rounds. I think I can guarantee I won't hold up the JB draft drafting in the middle, but I can't say the same drafting on the corner in the EC. It's a long time in between picks from the 18th spot.

I just woke up myself. Two comments.

The draft is flying along, really. Last year we started late and it lasted forever, so it seemed. Were making good time. If you have no access at work make sure you get the auto update emails so you will know who has been taken and when your up. You can email out your pick to me or Shak and we can post it.

Next, Jimbo you are screwed my friend. Well not totally, but likely. I was "thisclose" to taking Carnell Williams right in front of you but couldn't pass up a first tier WR like Holt or Harrison. I figured I had time to wait for a RB with question marks. Their are plent of backs that may fall to you and you'll have to gamble and get lucky. If Fragile Freddy falls to you in round 4 you better be happy because I don't see any way any RB with a sniff of a chance to start will be there for you. Maybe you get a guy like Mike Andersen who starts and gets 1,400 yards and 14 TD's. If that happens you win. The RB run on starters with no question marks seemed to have happened with the S. Jackson pick, just a few in front of you. You'll be ok, you'll think of something.

It was 13 picks away before I got to pick when I went to bed. I had Jamal Lewis, Portis, Dom Davis, and Kevin Jones on my list who all have week 4 byes. Tiki Barber and Lamont Jordan on my list who have week 5 byes. I had Westbrook, and Ahman Green on my list who all have week 6 byes. I wanted any two of those running backs (or some of the others that were drafted), but not two that have the same bye week. If you had drafted Tiki Barber instead of Ahman Green, then my two top rated backs when it got to my turn would have been Westbrook and Green. If I had both rounds pre-selected I would have drafted two RB with week 6 byes.

You, on the other hand, drafted Green and left no pre-draft set. There were only ten picks before you got to go again and with one choice you could insure you didn't draft someone with a week 6 bye, if that is part of your strategy.

Oh well, I hope what I just explained helps you understand why I wasn't leaving a two round queue and probably won't the entire draft. Truthfully, another reason I didn't get up earlier and check was because I didn't expect the draft to get to me before Monday. Doh!

STB will be here soon, it's early Sunday evening in Alaska. Funny that this is already the 3rd time where we are waiting on the same owner in both leagues. I'll pre-select 1 round at a time when away, that makes sense. Two in a row leaves you open for a double bye week or teammates, which you wouldn't do drafting live. Or maybe you would :-)

I just noticed he took Walker. We obviously have a different philosophy on drafting players with the same bye weeks so I can understand how it would seem easy to just have my top 14 players ranked instead of waiting to see who was picked.

Gonzo off the board, GREAT PICK! Gonzo gets forgotten about but at 1 pt per catch the TE that catches 100 balls is golden.

Not sold on Tatum Bell yet, I think he may either share with Mike Andersen or be his backup, risky high risk/high reward type of pick.

Well, I got spanked again this week from Buddy. My batting is going down the tubes!! I hope this isn't the start of my downfall like last year. First all of the way and then lose it in the final weeks. Worst of all, I play a hot STB this week with a TON of starts.

I do like my Walker pick. He seems to be a favorite of Favre, so teamed up with James, it should be good combo.

In the other league, starting off with A. Green is good, but I may have put myself into a snafu with bye weeks on my preselection. I hope not, but I think it might not get to there before I can get home to check it.

Joe,

I know what u are saying about the bye weeks but I am hoping to beat one guy in week 1 and then I should be okay with Gates. He should (hoping) be back for week 2, he did sign his contract.

Scotty, Maybe I will take another TE with my next pick, the JBC league is turning into my gamble league.

Scott,
I hope you collected from everyone. There may be a few regrets after this draft.

I'm screwed. 3rd and goal at the 3 yd line. Who am I going to pull for. Collins to throw or Jordan to run. Hey maybe Collins will throw to Jordan. No, not a chance.

You are not very good at reading minds. I said it was no bother. As I said yesterday, you don't "lesson" to good, that it was my mistake that I misunderstood how fast some wanted to get this done. If you detected sarcasm in that, well that's your problem. That's not what I meant. I don't depend on sarcasm to get a message across. I guess if you have a problem with that then go back to 178 and we’ll call it a day. If not then we’re cool. Life is too short to get worked up over little stuff like this.

You made me sweat it out for quite a while. I was hoping you'd go QB, but I just knew you'd take a RB. Suggs should be back for the opener, but he is injury prone, just like all the other RBs still left (including Bennett). They'll probably both get hurt this year and it'll be all for naught anyway.

Going to be hard to win either league, no Freebee's like last year, unless you count the Brady's picks. You can say something nice about all the teams so far.

How's Cobb's taking of two QB's early changed the ECC draft, I think it affected it, Not sure how much, a little run on QB's happened.

I don't like it. Sounded like the rationale was that he got screwed last year with a bad QB. With Favre all you need is a bye week filler, with Green and Favre he's set for a good QB week in and week out but at what cost to the other positions? I'm sure if he wins we'll all copy him in 2006 by drafting QB's in rounds 1, 2 and 3...

Excuse me while I ramble on for a few momemts of your time.....

Anybody else out there have a son?

A few of you know me personally so you know how I am.

On August 23rd, 2005 my son will sign up for Pony League football. On August 24th, 2005 they will conduct a draft to see which team he is on. He wants to be on the "Colts", as a Browns fan I guess I can live with that, as long as he isn't a Steeler.

Amazing for me as a sports nut and an absolute football maniac to finally see my son strap on a chin strap and get it done. None of this flag football crap but real life tackle football. When I played as a kid we had the AmVet Patriots (my team and I was the QB if you can believe that), the Big Macs, The Interns, the Green Backs, and the list goes on. Now I didn't get to this point by making my son do grass drills in the back yard or make him run wind sprints to get to this occasion. He wants to play football because he loves the game. He loves the game of football. He wants to be A.J. Hawk and Teddy Ginn like I wanted to be Chris Speilman back when I was young buck, I think that's cool. I think he'll be a WR or a LB, not sure but he's slow like his Dad with good hands so I'm hoping they'll find a spot for him where he can bang some heads.

Fortunately for me I'll be home for 45 days of his season and maybe I'll be able to help coach his team, not sure but that sure would be nice.

Not sure about you and I don't mean to ramble on but I can still remember the first day that they gave me a mouth piece and I had my Mom boil the water so I could get it to mold just right. I remember getting my helmet, the old garbage type with 2 bars. I remember getting my shoulder pads, pants and my jersey. Man those were the days.

I know some of you guys and some of you have young sons. So just thought I'd pass along that today is a landmark day in the McCoy household.

Now get back to the draft slackers.

www time very limited here. Only 2 computers on this side of the base...we don't have a car. And only 30 minutes per session, but with 6 people always waiting you don't want to hog it for the whole time. Mildy is done, 2 & Q in the double elim. Lost to Lakenheath (6 - 7) in 5 innings (rained out). Lost to Aviano at 0100 in the morning by 12 runs. We had a good time though. The usual suspects will take the men's title (either Spang or Ramstein, Aviano has an outside shot). Gotta run....Jon

Which NFL team will have the worst offense this year? It's tough to decide between SF, Chic, Clev, and Miami.

I think it'll be Chicago -- and I had the stupidity to draft two Bear RBs. I'm toast! I'll just go ahead and draft Hutchison and Orton to make it official.

You know how it is when you plan on cutting out early. I went in around 0500 and planned to be out by 1200. You would think after all this time I would know better.

I know we wan to get this done ASAP, but I really have no problem waiting, just a little frustrating when your next and itching to pick.

If you look at the bottom of the draft list it shows you the average draft times and the leader is ShakDaddy with 1 min..and Joe last, taking just over 2 hours!!

All apologizes Edneck.....But being here in Kosovo I cant stay up till two am waiting for my picks. I try to preselect when I can...but what is the use when there are 15 picks ahead of me?? Just about anyone I would take ends up being grabbed ahead of me.....hey what happened to Brady? So early!

I'm appalled and I'm shocked! I'm appalled that Ed thinks I'm a smarta$$ and I'm shocked that he wants to be like me.

I just knew that McNair pick was going to hurt Scotty. He had to grab a QB and the pickings were slim. McNair was far better than the rest.

You can't let these boys take four Rb's and hope to get left with a decent QB. Especially RBP, we might as well go home and play some golf, cuz it's all over if he lands a better then Average QB.

27 QBs off the board in ECC. That leaves five starting QBs and three of those are uncertain (SF, Mia, and Chi).

Now that we've practically picked the QB bone clean, when does the run on PKs start?

Who takes Ricky Williams? Anybody? I think he gets skipped.

Looked over rosters in both leagues. Some odd choices have been made and even worse some of those same teams have bye week issues with star players. Keep it rolling fellas. Can't wait to break down the rosters after were done. Clyde took Moose in round 7 last season who carried him to the title so each and every pick still looms large.

I think Faulk was a great pick in that spot. I was hoping to get J. Smith and Faulk in those two spots. I knew I should have come on here and asked if it was okay to draft 4 QB's before you picked.

You know what with all the waiting we've had the drafts are very close. One is at 6.09 and the other is 6.05.

I also wonder what player has the biggest gap between when they were selected. Might be Carnell Williams, I'll have to look.
