About damn time. When I asked TB to make a new thread with the tables in it, I was expecting to have the discussion move there as well. We are all sitting on Travis at the moment, so no earlier than 0800 GMT for him I expect. I will predraft when I get home.

ECC team by team, initial thought so far.
Shak--1 RB? Needs to find another.
RBP--Don't like talking about my team, needed a better QB.
HHH--1 RB? Not good.
Clyde--2 off in week 6, 2 off in week 9.
STB--C. Johnson is under rated IMO.
Tribe--If all healthy and playing a great start.
2Cool--No clear cut #1 back, needs Arrington to be HUGE.
Edneck--Nice balance, bye weeks managed well.
FNAS--Only thing I would have done different is a position player instead of Warner.
LR--Needs DM and JJ to carry team.
TB--Good start, I like the 3 potential starting RB's.
Grim--Is this a keeper league? He wishes.
CPS--Worried about those backs.
Joe--Another team with 1 RB.
GCobb--Still shocked by the back to back QB picks in round 2 and 3.
Trash--Good start, needs WR help but they are a dime a dozen at this point.
Mario--Baffled by the Brady pick but what do I know, he's not bad, just expected him in round 2.
Harmon--1 QB and 1 starting RB, needs help at those positions.

Just my initial thoughts when I look at the rosters.

I will chip in my two cents on the ECC draft so far.

FNAS--Solid. Although I did like a couple other options for his 2nd QB over Warner, I think Warner will have some big weeks in him.

CPS--I concur with RBP. I am a huge Raider fan, but Fargas? Hopefully Fragile-Fred gets/stays healthy.

GCobb--Love all the players and the strategy, but weeks 5 and 6 are going to be semi-stressful for him. Jones will be better than most sites are projecting. Benson doesn't get his job this year.

HHH--Maybe only one running back, but hasn't reached for talent. Every player is a threat to go large weekly. Love the potential for Harrington this year. Hope he doesn't screw it up.

Trash--Agree with RBP. Ronnie Brown is a high-risk/high-reward player who can make or break this team.

2Cool--Agree again, but I do think Arrington will be HUGE. Is Henry going to vulture Brown's TD's? CPep can carry this team by himself some weeks.

Tribe--I am a little concerned with Suggs staying healthy and the team getting playing time for all their backs. Owens-Huge talent, huge headache. Solid start.

Harmon--First 5 players make a solid core. If Suggs can't stay healthy, Droughns will fit in nicely.

Mario--Nice WR/TE and QB, but at what cost? Bell is going to have to step it up soon if you want to get starter numbers from him.

STB--Solid team. IMO, Mcgahee, Johnson, and Leftwich are a very solid core. Boller only completes about 15 passes a game, though, so have to hope Mason and Heap catch them all. =)

Grim--Like I said about Brown, I think Jackson is the make or break player. Too many people discounting Faulk. Jones, Horn, and Williams are a solid trio. Bensen needs to sign a contract.

Shak--Maybe the best trio of WR in the league. Could be hurting week three without another solid RB, but has a lot of solid scorers.

Clyde--Delhomme, Green, and both WR solid start. Mixed feelings on Barlow. He screwed two of my teams last year so I think I hate him.

LR--Solid team. Needs The Bus to not run out of gas. Having a healthy Staley around will probably help him more than hurt him.

Edneck--IMO, the best team so far. No weaknesses. Doesn't mean anything until the games are played, but if I had to swap teams that would be the one I want. McNair is looking pretty good this preseason and was a steal at 5.15.

Joe--Solid WR but only one RB. I have a feeling this won't be Palmer's year.

RBP--Dunn isn't a sexy pick, but he finds a way to be a top 20 back every year regardless of the scoring system. Add in LT, Foster, and Faulk and you have a very solid group of RB. You suck at QB. You are so going to be mad at yourself for pre-setting Foster at 4.02 if you go out early because of Bledsoe.

TB--Don't wanna talk about my own team, but need Henry to be the main ball carrier to justify the pick.

JBC first glance....
RBP--Needs fragile backs to stay healthy.
Shak--Bennett pick bailed him out.
JHHH--Great start, if he finishes strong he's a contender.
Clyde--Good start if Taylor is healthy.
STB--Needs another back and they are all gone.
Tribe--If Andersen is the starter he is outstanding shape.
2Cool--Not sure about Bell and Barlow, needs Bell to win the job in Denver.
Ednecks--Needs another back in the worst way, other than that solid.
FNAS--Great balance thru the lineup. Can draft best available from here on out.
LR--You know what, he's in good shape if Brown plays a majority of the snaps in Tenn.
Mario--Another well balanced roster, needs a backup QB to fill all of the holes.
TB--Needs another WR but has the RB and QB position covered.
Reaper--Squad has upside, if Vick plays to his potential , watch out!
CPS--3 potential back up RB's? If 2 of those guys start he's in better shape.
Joe--Nice trio in LT, T. Green and A. Johnson.
GCobb--Balanced squad, if Faulk gets some starts he's golden!
Trash--Buddy drafted a team (so far) that the RBP loves!
Harmon--With some breaks and a healthy QB this team could be explosive.

Just my 2 cents, take it for whats it's worth. The next few rounds are critical.

2300 and I'm off to bed. Stuck for going on 5 hrs in both leagues.

Pre-selected the 6th in the ECC, but not the 7th. I need to ensure I don't cause myself bye week issues. 18 picks until I'm up in the JBC...shouldn't be an issue there.

Very nice projections from TB and RBP, especially TB your my new best friend. Sorry for the wait in the JBC, checked at 0900 and then had a few appointments to go too.

I might do mine a little later, I thought A. Green was going to be huge last year, so projections are for pre-season, becomes a little more solid after the first 5 weeks. Still keep it up I enjoy the commentary either way and glad to see the enthusiasm.

Thanks Joe. I only have one RB, so I was really hoping M Moore would fall to me, but STB would have none of that. Tiki is incredibly durable, so the most I can hope for with Jacobs is that he vultures a few goalline TDs.

I'd like to thank everyone for making these drafts go by so smoothly. It's easy for guys like me, Ed, Scott and TB that have constant access, but I think the Kosovo boys and JHHH, in particular, have really done an incredible job of checking in every so often and predrafting. Outstanding job, guys.

The easiest thing bye week wise is to to trade curtis (9) for burelson (5)...but that is slanted way to much in my favor. Then trade duckett (8) for staley (4). That should favor you IF staley is healthy. At this point we are out of bye week trouble. Except for my TE shockey (5) who should not be on my list in the first place?????

A Burelson for Johnson (3) trade would be better talent wize except it will screw up you bye weeks once again with your stud RB Portis (3). But then again it is still early at that point, would missing them two hurt you that early in the season. Then I would be minus a QB and WR in week 9...this is hurting my head. Figure something out

Good trade. I like both the players Joe got better than the ones you got, Ed, but not by a whole bunch. My SOS chart says Philly isn't a great match-up for Bledsoe on week 5 but it better than having no match-up in week 9.

Good accessment TB. Spot on. In my defense, I looked at Bledsoe's bye week and I thought I read Bye week 8, no sure why I didn't but I normally do a double check. Still a school-boy error and it deserved to be punished...Bledsoe in week 5 against Philly will be lucky if he get's more then 10 points.

I know what you mean. I have him as my BU QB in another league, so am trying to remain optimistic. The biggest concern is the offensive line protecting him. I thought I read something today saying their starting center was banged up. Warner needs to get his confidence/pocket poise back. He has looked shell-shocked the last couple of seasons.

My comp leaves tomorrow, after that I'll be at the library/friends house/work to make my picks. I picked in kind of a "frenzy" this morning, didn't manage bye weeks very well. And no transactions after the draft, you get what you draft to last you all 17 weeks! You can trade during the draft but the max # of players you can have is 10. All trades must be for even number players or picks ie 1 for 1, 2 for 2, 3 for 3 etc.

I copied that from the original thread. Does that mean that once 10.18 is selected, the draft is over and no more trades? It reads that way, but I just want to make sure there isn't a grace period.

As stated in the constitution:

"There are no trades allowed except during the draft and no free agent pickups so it really is a test of consistency and perseverance for the players you draft to form your team."

I really dont care about trades one way or the other. It is allowed, so I did it. I know this will end up back firing on me in the long run when Bulger goes down with a strained picka.

No longer standing by, have to much crap to do before the movers come in the AM. I will make contact either first thing in the AM or in the early afternoon. Sent my JBC sheet to STB and Clyde. Sent further instructions to STB if the list is exhausted. Would be nice to know how far away my pick is. Thanks Scott

TB -- I think Shak has the privs to make the pick for RBP on the site.

Trades -- I don't have a problem with 'em, just didn't realize it was something we could do. Glad it was clarified that once the draft is over that's it. No worries here.

TB -- RBP is up. I took B. Jacobs.

Sorry for the delay. The rhythm of this draft has not been kind to me. I hit the sack 8-10 picks away and seemingly always get put on the clock at 0300. I get up at 0500 just so I don't delay things further. That's the price I pay for not pre-selecting...just not comfortable in this league pre-selecting from 8-10 spots out.

I've noticed quite a few backup Rb's being taken and I can see why. Now if the gamble pays off and your backup Rb get the start through injury or just because he's better then OK it was worth the pick whenever.

Now if he sits on your bench all season long then you've wasted a valuable pick. Should you have taken that 5-15 point scoring WR who scores every game over the gamble, a very fine line in this league. You need all your guys scoring, If you end up having say one injury and a guy riding the pine then your in trouble. I think the lure of going large may have a few of you boys in trouble...

Edneck makes a solid point. I would just say that very few WRs score 5-15 every week. Almost all of them, even the superstars, are inconsistent and the further you go into the draft the more inconsistent they get.

Rolling the dice on a backup RB, especially if you're trying to acquire your 3rd RB, makes some sense if you already have 3 pretty solid WR/TEs.

I'd be more concerned about not having a 2nd QB or low rent backup at QB. One injury and it's all over but the crying.

I would also have to disagree with Ed. Most of your backups won't be in the scoring picture anyway, so why not take a chance on a backup RB or QB that could outscore yours at one point? I had Sammy Morris as a backup last year and he scored more points than Dunn did in the last few weeks of the season. Dunn was benched because the season was already won for Atlanta. Finding the backup who becomes the starter is just as valuable as the 5 point WR IMO.

Clyde disagreeing with me, now that's a change and highly surprising.!. I never said it was a bad ploy or the wrong gameplan, so again Clyde wants to disagree so bad that he reads into the question. I took Givens with my #8 pick and he will score 5-15 points almost every week and could help you out that week your main studs score low, and yes your main guys will score low from time to time. If those Backups get on the field your fine, If not your hurting. I'm just saying it's a fine line to walk, I know with Givens he will be on the field.

I said last year and it's still true, If you get three players to score 20+ points every week then your safe. I'm not stupid and know that a RB has more ways to score then any other position and understand the ploy, get as many as you can, especially those that could become starters.

I don't think either way is right or wrong. You have to have a balance of both I think. You've gotta have guys on the field and you also have to get a little lucky with some late rounds guys that outperform their draft slot.

The real killer for me in this league is the bye week considerations. I hate having to take a lower rated guy because his bye week works. Just makes me cringe.

Read your own post Ed.

I've noticed quite a few backup Rb's being taken and I can see why. Now if the gamble pays off and your backup Rb get the start through injury or just because he's better then OK it was worth the pick whenever.

You need to have your starters scoring every week. Taking a chance on a backup RB is worth it in my opinion. It's all about finding someone who is not projected to get points who really does. If you go with the for sure 5-15 points (not certain by any means), WR or taking a chance on a backup RB it is all good. Having a tight set of core players is essential, but taking a gamble could be what makes or breaks you. Mushin is proof of that. Not a RB, but finding that player who makes the grade every week who wasn't projected to. If they aren't your solid core starters, why not take the chance? Risks are all part of this game.

I read it again and I say nothing about it was the wrong ploy or gameplan. Gary/Mike are correct about balance. I was just asking should you take the sure bet WR or gamble on Davenport?

Clyde won it last year, so he must be right...

Gary, Taking a guy over a better player just because of bye weeks does hurt and make you cringe. That's what makes this drafting so different/hard and appealing at the same time.

Ed, I am not saying I am right, just pointing out that a backup RB could become the starter due to injury, lack of production, etc. Taking a chance has huge upside and not too much downside. Taking the solid WR who will not likely count in the weekly scoring is ok, but having a pick or two to gamble on is good as well. You know I love to argue, but not doing that here.

I know what you mean about having to pick the worse player because of bye weeks. I had to pass on Stokely because of this. Hated doing that, but bye weeks are what they are and you have to have a good balance or as Shak has done it, get them all over with at once.

Gents,

Got an issue in another league I play in and I'm interested in a sanity check.

If you start a guy like D. Hall at WR and he returns a punt/kick for a TD, should he also get credit for the TD or should it only be awarded to the KC D/ST.

I'm saying both should get the points for the same reason both the QB & WR get the points on a TD pass. Others feel it's doubling up on the points.

Thoughts?

GC,,

That kind of scoring started a couple years back when it seemed like all the starting WR were getting knocked off each week. I hated the idea at 1st but after watching it, I learned to like it. In my eyes, if you have to start Hall because a lack of WR, you should get the points for his TD and who ever has to start the D/ST should get the points as well. ONLY IF YOU START HALL.

SC -- Not sure I understand your response. I'm talking about a situation where a player is started as a WR and then scores on a kick/punt return. Some of the owners feel if they started him that week and he scored it shoudn't matter how. Others feel it should only be the D/ST points because he's acting on the D/STs behalf rather than his own.

I think you're leaning toward the latter, but I didn't follow the "Unless the player is playing WR" part.

I disagree, I think they should both get the points. It's not like there's a WR Hall and a ST Hall -- they're the same person. If a QB can get points for a TD reception a WR can get a TD on ST IMO.

Hall vs Chiefs ST. Depends on what your rules say, if it says all TD's are 6 points then Hall gets the points. Usually when you have a Def/ST you only get points for the return unit, not the individual player. I'd have to see the rules, both ways could be right.

GC, Scott's league and mine in the past have been that when the player is playing WR, he only gets points for being a WR. As far as defenses go, you don't have individual players you have a team, so I don't think you should get individual points.

Quick observations......

Draft has gone better than expected! Thanks!

ECC, random thoughts.......
RBP - 1 QB, 3 players off week 7.
Clyde - 2 RB's and both have same bye week
STB - Locked up Minny ground game
The Neck - looks like an ECC favorite in my book.
2 Cool - Nevermind the 1 QB, 4 players off week 5!
FNAS - Staggered the bye weeks about as well as you can.
Reaper - 3 off week 4
CPS - 3 off week 4
Joe - 8 players, 8 different bye weeks so far.
Trash - Another serious contender
Harmon - Gonzo is elite in this scoring system, I hope he repeats numbers from 2004.

Didn't hit every team, just took a glance.

I agree that Edneck/Trash are solid teams and I would throw in Shak's team as long as Vick can bounce back from a subpar season. He is loaded at WR and that criminal Lewis will have a monster year.

I'll make it easy on you. I have two many players off week #7. I'll take Akers, give you Vinatieri and we'll swap our next draft picks. You get 9.17 and I get 9.10? What you say?

Scotty, sorry it took me so long but my DSL is messing up so I had to switch to dial-up. As for the trade offer, I will have to pass, it just isn't worth it because Mr. Clutch's (vinatieri) bye week is the same as my ONLY QB's. I really thought u had something a little more exciting, than exchanging kickers, in mind.

Kickers kick arse!! Made my pick. I was at work and didn't have time to make one. Jeez they actually want to fly airplanes when there are FF drafts going on. If I had known this, I would have chosen a different base!!

What is your COLA over there right now? Just curious, when I left I was getting 1200+ and in Alaska(where it is more expensive) I am getting 600+... Let me know

the big reason it is more expensive here is that one has a tendency to do so much more off base.

n e way, u want to trade with me in the LMSCL? I need help everywhere so pick a position. I am willing to trade Winslow Jr,, interested? I think i am playing this year for the reggie bush sweepstakes. I made the championship last year and I expect to finish last this year. wow, what a difference a year makes, i actually have 2 players on my team that have never played a down for me.

Yeah, I used to post as TBRaiders, but shortened my handle a couple years ago.

I copied the league rosters from the site we drafted at and posted them to excel as well. Email me the ones you did and if they are better than the ones straight from the site, I will delete mine. If I like mine better, I will email them to you tonight or tomorrow, or whenever the drafts are final.
