0 Subject: Survivor Week IV

What a struggle and we have only gone 3 weeks. That's what makes this format so fun -- every week is do or die. Here's my prognosis for this week.

In JBC it's very simple -- Harmon's foursome vs. Shak's RB-less team.

Harmon -- this team leads the league in injuries. Warner, Shelton, Curry, and probably Franks. He also has Henry on suspension and Ward on a bye. That leaves him with no QBs and only four healthy players -- Rudi, LJ, Moss, and Vinatieri. And Herm Edwards thought he had it bad.

Shak -- Unfortunately, I'm going to give Harmon a run for his money. While Harmon has no QB, I will be going with the empty backfield. The Bear tandem is on bye and M Bennett is MIA (I'd love to see him get traded to Ariz!). I will also be missing McMichael, who has been money so far. I'll need Payton to put up some points and my WRs to keep producing.

Head says Harmon's MASH unit gets recalled.
Heart says anyone but me.
Gut says Harmon.

ECC is a little tougher to call.
Harmon: the injury bug has hit his team here too. His only QB, Pennington is probably done for the year. Shelton is on the IR and Bruce may sit this week. He also has Droughns on a bye. He needs big points from Deuce and Gonzo to move on.

LR: if McNabb ends up sitting, LR will also have a donut for QB points. With Chambers and Bettis on a bye, LR will need those McNabb points.

Head says Harmon pulls the second double play in a row.
Heart says LR must go.
Gut says sorry Harmon, there's always next year.

Sounds good to me. It's always a good thing to not have your name mentioned as a probable to leave the island.

I have been following you guys this year and i hate to break it to Harmon that Rudy is also on the injury report. So he has 3 noninjured players?? EH...

Wow, we have a gallery. Isn't that how we added TB?

Luckily for Harmon, it looks like Rudi will be good to go on Sunday.

What scares me is that this year has been pretty weird and the teams that you think are in danger find a way to slide by and some what out of the blue gets sent packing. Who will be that surprise this week?

Ed, is it still too early to worry about McNabb's health?

McNabb? getting a little worried about a sports hernia, that can lead to a few major problems if not fixed? I can live with bumps and strains but I havn't heard if the hernia is for real yet, he may miss quite a few games.

I have McNabb in a few leagues, with so-so backups so yeah I'm a little worried.

I'll try and rate the teams with a post later before week 4 kicks off...I kind of miss the banter!! I might have to stir the pot a little!!

Sorry,

I've been studying for finals. 2 more damn classes and I'm done!! I think the only reason Scott brought me in to this league was for converation. He and I are head to head this week for the Division lead, in a CBS league. The thing I hate about playing in more than a couple leagues is you sometimes end up starting players you play against. Sure enough Scott's starting 2 RBs are the same as mine in another league.

Anywho, it seems for the last 3 years, I've been saying at the beginning of each season, that it is the craziest season I've seen. This is by far got them all beat. In one of my leagues, I have Hasselback, Alexander, (R. Johnson, F. Taylor or J. Lewis), McCardell, M. Clayton, Crumpler, Venteiri, and NE def as my starters and am getting my ass kicked. 0-3. I would have never bet on that.

Reaper is giving Harmon a run for his money in the JBC. One of them will be leaving. In the ECC, it looks like Harmon, although FNAS and 2Cool are hanging around.

Harmon will hit the second daily double in a row unless he gets big games from Franks (JBC) and Davenport (ECC). Not likely.

I'm shocked my crappy teams are still alive.

Wow, being on leave is sucking the life out of me. The joke around here is that I can't wait to get to Korea so I can get some rest.

Sons football team is now partially coached by me. After they lost 38-0 with 6 yards of offense I had had enough. I drew up a whole new playbook, new formations, a passing attack, simplified play calls etc. We lose last week 10-6 in a heart breaker. Lose 12-6 yesterday, once again heartbreaker. My son has been the QB for the last 2 weeks and has both TD's on sneaks. Wife is calling for me, I'll finish the story later...........

How ironic that the RBP's son is a QB that steals TDs by sneaking them over himself. The RBs probably led the team all the way down the field. Next you'll be having your fattest kid lining up at FB and scoring, ala the Fridge in Super Bowl XX.

Here's a great line that seems awfully appropriate for this league:

"The dead know only one thing: it's better to be alive."

Shak--FMJ is one of my all time favorite movies!

Shak Part II--My son is by no means the star of our team. He manages the offense very well, an offense I designed so he has some advantages. You must remember the team was HORRIBLE!!!!! Fumbled 6 snaps in the first game and lost them all. We have a RB who is really really good. We pound him every chance we get but he isn't an inside runner, he weighs 83 pounds. My son just happens to be our "biggest" back at 97 pounds. Our coach (who calls the plays but takes my advice when I give it to him) LOVES the sneak on short yardage. He ran it on 1st and goal from the 5 last week and my son miraculously went in untouched. This week in a 0-0 game our "star" back took it down to the 6 on a long gainer on a reverse. Coach runs teh sneak on 1st down--gain of 3. Sneak on 2nd down--gain of 2 down to the 1. He looks at me and says "Scott you have any ideas for 3rd down"? Scott says, "RUN IT AGAIN!" TD. The bad news is that my boy threw an INT that was returned for a TD in the second half and that was the difference in the game. It just kills me that we moved it up and down the field and lost. The other team scored a TD on 4th and 11 from the 35 on the second to last play of the half and the INT return. Beyond that we dominated, but lost and that's all that matters. I'm knee deep trying to coach this team without pissing off the whole staff. We play the only 3-0 team this week and beating them would be awesome.

That is all. Scott

Consecutive immunities in the JB league for me. Yippy! This is definitely a lot better then last year when I was axed in week three. Every week is different and you never know what’s going to happen. But one thing is for sure, I am guaranteed to be around till week six now. I was willing to trade in my immunity for an Eagles victory, fortunately that wasn’t necessary. Hopefully my EC league will survive without Moss this week, maybe Martin will finally show up. Williams being sore will help my Pittman numbers progress. (And hurt my nemesis Super Mario, cause that’s what this is all about right, wishing harm to others so you survive…right…. right?) Anyway, I would like to say Super Mario next off the rock in EC (I have to outlast the Brady Bunch), but it looks like this is 2COOLS week. No QB, unless someone starts Feeley on a madden video game, and down to one WR Gotta talk some trash. Is it just me or is this year’s message board a lot quieter then last year. Maybe we should bring back AJAYE next year? Gotta get back to work. Go Phillies…………………………next year!

Very quiet and it's my fault. Last year we had much more discussion based off of my projections, this year I've been as quiet as a Church mouse due to the PCS. Skiba is deployed to the sand, he posts more than anybody so that doesn't help. Shak/JHHH have done a great job with the stats again, good work fellas. Scott
