This is it with my predictions....

ECC: Picking Edneck to win, Mario to place and Joe to show.

JBC: Picking STB to win, HHH to place, and LR to show.

Where is the love Joe? I'm just a humble person so I know that RBP picking me to win is the biggest Jinx of all time.

Harrison out for the year?

We going to play the special playoff games, 20 buck thingy that Joe won last year? IF your interested lets get this rolling a little earlier then last year...raise the stakes? Any other NFL playoff game we could play?

We can play two games that I know of. One is the game where everybody submits there own lineup weekly only using a player once during the playoffs. This format can include as many teams as you can find people to pay. $20 is the normal fee.

The other is a weekly draft.
I cannot remember how many teams we used for the weekly draft (HHH will know)? I think we started with 8, reversed the draft order for round 2 of the playoffs. Reduced to 4 for the Conference Championship and reduced to 2 teams for the SB. Ed help me out.

what do you guys think about the colts future this year......a couple big stars are limping and the coaches sons death does not help. You think he is going to coach again this year. I really hope it was not suicide. That would be extra hard on the coach. I guess it happened a few miles from my condo here, not much new news here about it though.

I think teams have a tendency to rally together when faced with a tragedy like this. Here in Tucson, when Lute Olson's wife passed away during the 2000-2001 season, the team came together and played with passion all the way to the championship game vs. Duke. Unfortunately, they fell one game short.

Now that Indy has lost a game, I think they will focus all their efforts on the playoffs and will likely lose both remaining games. Whether or not Tony coaches them in the playoffs (I think he will absolutely be there), I think they will be fired up and have extra motivation for winning it all.

I don't think I could run with turd toe either, hahaha

Dec 24 Jordan has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Denver Broncos because of turf toe. The running back injured the big toe on his right foot during last week's loss to the Cleveland Browns, but remained in the contest and ended up running for a career-high 132 yards. A MRI earlier this week revelaed the turd toe injury and Jordan had his foot placed in a walking boot. He did not practice at all this week.

#1 pick next year....

Shaun Alexander?
L. Tomlinson?
Larry Johnson?

Alexander is a stud, but after seeing Johnson run over everyone he's played I'll take my chances with him over LT...like I said before the draft, LT is nice, but is very average without the TD's, and will hurt you in this format with some very bad games!!

Holmes days are numbered in KC, L. Johnson if he stays healthy will be reguarded as the best RB ever in the NFL...I think he's that good.

Just wish I faith in him before the draft.

Ed I don't know if LJ will be regarded as the #1 back of all time but he seems poised to have an "All-Time" type of season next year. He just seems unstoppable in that offense.

Imagine a new keeper league. Would be nice to pick in the top 4. Alexander/Johnson/Bush/Tomlinson! Can't go wrong.

We going to get some results this week? Just curious how many points is between us.

Interesting mock draft, biggest suprise on there is T.O. at 12 and Samkon Gado listed in round two....huh. Even with LJ's numbers this year, it would be hard to choose him ahead of Shaun Alexander or my nizzle LT...can he carry the position himself in the NFL a whole season?...has not shown he can yet. Did not see Brady on there either Mario, this guy must not know what he is talking about. Gotta get some sleep, so what is with the keeper league?

Oregon must win a few extra games while blinding the opposition with those ugly lime green uniforms? Was Shak really serious when he said the Pac-10 was better then the SEC. I've figured Shak out,he's the follower of lost causes :). I still wouldn't bet against USC!!!

Once Oregon lost their QB, Kellen Clemons, they were never the same team again. I never championed their cause to play in the BCS because I knew they weren't nearly as good without Clemons. How about Ryan Leaf's brother playing in a bowl game in SD, of all places. Talk about being set up for failure.

Jon, you feeling pretty good about taking the Longhorns, are you? We can up the bet, if that's the case.

I guess we'll find out how tough the Pac-10 is with their last two bowl games. They're 2-1 so far.

I'll stick with our original bet. I've probably got more bets than I can handle already. I've got league dues on the line with 3 people. And I'm going to owe lunches for 6 months if Texas doesn't pull this off.

#17 UCLA (9-2) wins ugly against unranked NW (7-4) and AZ State beats ?Rutgers?...I guess they do count as wins....

Everyone said the Big 12 had nothing and here comes Oklahoma beating #6 Oregon and Nebraska beating #20 Michigan. I have no conference loyalties though....bring back the Southwest Conf.

Jonny, you forgot to ridicule Cal's victory over BYU. How can you say UCLA's victory was ugly -- that one game had more highlights than the SEC's had all season. UCLA spots NW 22 points, withstands 70 pass attempts by NW, rushes for 310 yards and returns two onside kicks for touchdowns. That's college football at it's best.

Jon, are you trying to emulate Ed? The Pac-10 has a successful postseason and you make a snide remark after their only loss??!! Have you not noticed that the Big-10 is oh for three -- including an "ugly" loss to a Pac-10 team?? I guess when you have no loyalties, it's easy to be selective with your observations. Observations which you don't need to back up.

ESPN sure has done a nice job of providing Texas with all the bulletin board material they need by making a big production of comparing USC with the greatest college teams of all time -- before this USC team has even won a national championship. Quite a slap in the face to Texas.

From Shak Week 13: "...the Longhorns (from the Big 1 Little 11)"

The Little 11 are doing pretty well for themselves!!!

From Shak Week 13: "As far as the conferences go, the Pac 10 is clearly better than the Big 12 and I would venture to say that it's better than the SEC and at worst, it's the equivalent of the Big 10."

Do you care to rescind your comment?

Northwestern (4th best record in the Big 10 w/Iowa and Michigan) and Rutgers (3rd best record in the Big East) are now opponents to be mocked? Where was the outrage when the SEC was racking up their victories against Appalachian State and Middle Tennessee State?

The ACC and Big 10 are the two conferences who should be embarrassed so far. Why is a barely bowl eligible Mountain West team beating up on Georgia Tech? LSU 40 Miami 3...ouch
Michigan, Northwestern, Minnesota...has the Big 10 won a bowl yet?

The whole Bowl season is a joke and an insult to half these teams playing in them. The only one that counts is the Rose Bowl because it has the two top teams playing for the championship. We all know the Bowls are a commercial venture sponsered by huge corperations. So take any victory with a grain of salt in any Bowl game except the Rose bowl, just my opinion.

Shak you big baby, JHHH is a strong willed man and will always make up his own mind. Unlike you he will not argue for the sake of it, If you havn't noticed he only pipes in when he has a problem with absurd statements...know for me I like a good argument!!!

Jon, I give in -- I retract my statement. The Pac-10 is not the equivalent of the Big 10 -- it's clearly head and shoulders better.

Ed, another SC?? Ouch, that's hitting below the belt!

Was that a Big 12 team falling to a Mountain West team today? Hmmm. And how about the North division champ, Colorado? Any team that finishes the season with three straight blowout losses (outscored 120-22) shouldn't go to a bowl game. How did they ever win the North and how did the North get five teams into bowls?? That's got to be a joke, right.

I may be wrong but in the ECC the scores are from week 1
Joe 96
EDneck 96
Mario 88.5

Week2
Joe 57.5 + 96 = 153.5 finished
Edneck 60.5 + 96 = 156.5 + Witten
Mario 76 + 88.5 = 164.5 finished

Ednecks need 8.5 from Witten to win or Mario wins...This is what I have it will have to be verified by shak! Very close finish

No word from CPS so I'm going to be $40 short on payouts. It doesn't sound like he'll be reached anytime soon either as he hasn't replied to my emails. Short term fix is to knock off $40 evenly across the board and then when he pays apply the change either towards 2006 season or sent it to you, doesn't really matter to me. Any suggestions? Next year I'll have to get money up front so this doesn't happen again. Scott

Jim help me out...from page 3 this is what I found for payouts, subject "Survivor 2005!"

"2005 payouts are as follows
Survivor in each league gets $210
Runner up in each league gets $75
Highest total score for all 17 weeks gets $50 in each league.
Owner who survives the most weeks combined between two leagues gets $50.

That adds up to $720 which is the entry fee in full, no site to payout, you get IT ALL BACK!"

Just want to confirm that these were the final numbers because I seem to recall that they were "tweaked" from this original post. Still looking.

Speed kills, I'll give you an "Amen" on that Jim. Wait 2 years when Charles has his boys in South Bend, I fear a sleeping giant is about to awake. I like to bust on CW because I think he's arrogant. I also see why ND fans love him, probably for the same reasons I dislike him.

JT a big game Coach? OSU fans already know that. He won 5 NC's in his coaching career (4 on lower levels) by doing it his way which is not flashy. I would not trade JT for any coach in America. He could run for Govenor in Ohio and win in a landslide.

Playoff pool.

Let's do it. Let's say $10 limited to Survivor owners and anybody that YOU will vouche for. If they don't pay I expect it from YOU.

Standard lineup from 2005 was 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Def (is that right?). I'll somebody to post the LMSCL defensive scoring and actually if somebody can post all of the scoring rules that would be great. I know JHHH has a spreadsheet and Jimbo probably has it too (send it to scott.mccoy@osan.af.mil). I'll track all of the money and the scoring (Shak deserves a break). All I need is a post here saying your in (somebody send out an email with this message attached to all of teh Survivor owners) and what email address you want updates sent to. You may only use each player once so make sure you choose wisely. Lineups are due prior to kickoff before Saturdays games, the sooner the better. Thanks Scott

From Dec 7, 2005.

>>>Jimmy (Shak) The Greek,

"Scotty, I think you're going to lose our Rose Bowl bet as the Trojans (from the Wac10) are 7 point favorites over the Longhorns (from the Big 1 Little 11). To show you that I am a sport, I'll let you win your money back. I'll take the underdog Irish vs. your Buckeyes. We on?"

Absolutely, I would love the opportunity to "double dip" the Shak Daddy!

I'm going to toss in predictions just for the fun of it. They are my opinions and if you feel the need to bash go for it (but you must post your prediction too).

UT 45
University of Spoiled Children 35

tOSU 35
Neutered Dame 21<<<

Couple things. I just reallized that Shak predicted an OSU win by saying that he'd let me win my money back, good call. I also came eerily close to predicting the final score (although I changed my prediction to 38-13 just prior to kick off). I think this bodes well for Texas, or at least I hope it does :-)

I'd also like to bring up a point. I've been pretty critical of Weiss, ND and USC lately on this board and in email traffic. At the end of the day what I seem to be unhappy with is all of the media love for CW, ND and USC--it's just at ridiculous levels IMO.

I have a better story for you, and it's true. IMO this game (Fiesta) should have been more about ND trying to slay the Dragon as an undermanned team. Did they have a nice season? Yes. But they only played 5 teams with winning records (OSU, MSU?, UM, Navy and USC) and only won 2 of those games. ND was cleary outmanned. They were outmanned on O and D. OSU has better athletes across the board and ND was exposed today. In two years ND will catch up and get better athletes (sp?), when they do watch out.

P.S. I love college football.

"Yes. But they only played 5 teams with winning records (OSU, MSU?, UM, Navy and USC) and only won 2 of those games."

Wrong ND played 4 teams with winning records, losing 50% of them. OSU/USC losses UM/Navy wins. Sorry I had that info wrong. Scott

If paypal won't charge me to recieve $50, then paypal it to: gerhardt@cebridge.net

if they do, i'll refuse the payment and you can just hold it for now. Sooner or later RBP I'll have to send you cash or vice versa, so if paypal don't work for free then no big deal, hold it if i refuse the payment.
