Younmgroman defeated Frick for oour inaugural championship title!!

Congrats to youngroman and frick for making it to the big show.

A hearty thanks to the 9 of our 12 starting managers who stuck it out for our first year. Had some troubles, but nothing too extreme. Mostly site issues early in the season.

Look forward to league wide discussions so we can modify things for next year. (Amonngst whiwch, is finding a new host site.)

Thanks sarge for putting this league together. Thanks to all other active managers for particapting in this league - it was a real challange.

this was my first experience in a roto-auction-league and the 2nd roto-league total. Instead of playing in lots of leagues every year I reduce the leagues I am playing to only a few. in my 2nd roto-year I participated in 2 leagues: auction + RIFC-AAA. I won this league and ended up 2nd in the RIFC-AAA. not too bad for a newbie from Austria.

the start of this year was tough. I lost the first 4 games in a row and was thinking a lot what I did wrong. I never tried too much, I didn't thought about trading because I believed in my team. my plus at this time was the huge amount of cap-space available compared to most of the other managers. this helped me getting some depth when I needed it. I had not to think about my salary all year. I may change this a bit next year but overall it is a huge benefit of having 20+ $ left after the draft.

after my 0-4 start I won every other game up to the championship. special thanks for this feet go to: Jake Plummer, Larry Johnson, Joey Galloway and the Carolina Defense for carrying my team during that span. for me Larry Johnson is this years MVP.

I hope to see the most of you next year when I try to defend my title.

now to proposed changes for next year:
- reduce the points scored of D/ST because their scoring was a bit unbalanced (high) compared to other roster slots. I would reduce the return-points a bit

already mentioned changes:
- switch the league from ESPN to a different site (if AOL stays free, I'd prefer them)
- review the free agent claiming process

Congrats YR on the win - nicely done.

I'd prefer we find a site that is tailored to auctions that we can use, as the manual stuff to keep $$$ in line on claims/trades/WW/etc. cuts down on the enjoyment. It'd be great if it included some sort of eBay-style bidding tool for the auctions as I think the slow auction is the way to go for this league. I'm not opposed to paying to play if it automates this stuff and lets everyone focus on playing the game.

I'll be sending out a league email in the next couple of days, so that we can address any number of things.

WW, Scoring, Roster size adjustments, etc etc etc.

In the meantime, I'd like all who are inclined to, to post your suggestions here, and then I can incorporate those into a singular email to everyone.

Congrats YR, that was an impressive streak to close out the season.

I knew I was in trouble as I was watching the Colts-Seahawks game and Edge went out in the first quarter. My team was built around my 3 running backs, and having 1 of them basically sit for the week hurt.

I really enjoyed the league and can't wait to do it again next year.

I agree that team D's scoring needs to be brought back down. I would lean toward taking away the kick and punt return yards and giving it to individual players.

I would recommend AOL as a site if it is free next year. The site if very flexible and has the ability to do the salary tracking and has a very flexible waivers system.

Congrats to YR and Frick also.
Losing Brooks to being benched at the end hurt.
Will try to do a write up over the weekend that covers my strategy for both the draft and the season.

The biggest issue I have with doing an auction type draft over the internet, is that you don't have the opportunity to read others and get a feeling for who they really want to draft.

I paid the max I was willing to pay for LT, but had no issues at all with that.

What threw my entire draft into a tizzy, was winning the Bid on Ronnie Brown.
A player I did not want to draft.
The problem was that his price was about 35% of what I had him rated as and I wasn't willing to let him go that cheap.
Would have never bid on him though if I'd have had a better feel that he was going to be dropped on me.

But, C'est La Vie.
The nature of Auctions.

I felt fairly comfortable going into the season without the ability to pick anybodyy up off of waiver.

Was probably my demise in the end, but could live with it.

Overall, really enjoyed the season.

Looking forward to next year.

gwtting things ready for this year, and while reviewing last years draft actiovity, I ran across this:

note posts 37 and 38, then note the time stamp.

and look above to see who won the league. Now, if only I could draft my team as well as I apparently rated YR's draft. :)
