Hey all..
Kafentid is all set. Draft order is set. Stupid program gave me the last pick.
DRAFT ORDER:
wiggs 1.01 GolfFreak GoatLocker jtserb dwfffan promize Stuck60 electroman sarge33rd Frick russelldl barilko6
Clock will be paused until 8:00 tomorrow, but picking may start at anytime.
Remember, the first year this is a snake draft, next year, and every year after will be a standard 1-12, 1-12, etc, draft.
5 Keepers kept.

Kafenatid will automatically email you when you are on the clock.
We are using a 6 hour time clock per pick. We can change that if we feel we need to.
You can set designated pickers that allow others to make picks for you should you need to leave a queue.

One last point...
When making a pick on Kafenatid, make sure you enter the player's name, spelled exactly as Kafenatid has it, that way the player will be eliminated from the available player list and won't be picked twice.

First three ran the way they probably should have.
Barilko, The grid does not show a kicker, and the drop down doesn't either.

For some reason I can't add a kicker slot. Kickers are still able to be drafted, and they are still listed in the player database, but the site won't let me add the position to our league settings.
A small detail that I will work on, it only affects our league in the fact that the position isn't shown, but the players can still be drafted to the bench.
We can't finish the 3rd round until my payment goes through to Fred!

Normally I wouldn't mind being in the 12 spot for drafting, but with this being a keeper league, I kind of wish I was higher...especially seeing those top guys go off the board. I was hoping one of them would drop down to me...hehe

Guess I should take a few minutes to talk to On The Clock.
Fred has really done a great job here. When you do a queue, your designated pickers and the commissioner will see the name on the top of the queue and be able to make the pick for you. During the Beta Testing, we had Fred add the ability to turn the Queue on and off.
So, when you see the Queue Status: Unavailable, it means the designated pickers and commissioner can't see your queue.
What this does is allows you to set up a queue and Designated pickers and make the queue available for when you are away, but when you get back, you can disable the queue.
If I am a designated picker for you and you make the queue available, I will make the pick for you as soon as you are up.
The baseball drafts I was commissioner for, I worked the same way. If you are up and have the queue available, I'm making the pick.
Was not uncommon for me to make 5 or 6 picks in a row.
Really keeps the draft going.
Any questions, please ask.

Because of the keepers. I've only ever been in 2 keeper leagues, and both leagues ran a straight draft because of the keepers. I thought maybe that was standard...

I guess the straight draft assumes the League Champion would have 5 solid keepers, and the last place team might not have as good of players.
Also it creates a league wide NFL-like parity that enables all teams to rise to the championship only one year removed from a bad year.
And finally, its just a way to make bad teams like mine more competitive after a bad year. :)

All of my keeper leagues use a straight draft after the first year.
I think it helps try to make it harder for a dynasty to form.
Out 24 team league does that and we have had 3 different champs in the first 4 years.

I drafted Manning with the same theory that SITS has. With a 2 QB starting league I don’t want to be stuck with Grossman and Pennington as my starting QB's. I feel there is more RB depth than QB.
Also I have a 16 man queue set up. It will be sufficient for my pick tomorrow. I will check in at lunch time tomorrow to see where the draft has progressed to.
I set GL, Sarge, and commish as Designated pickers. Will you guys be around tomorrow?

re 40: The clock is paused until our "official" start time of 8:00 AM EST tomorrow. These picks are all just extra!
When the clock starts tomorrow, it will go from 8:00 AM - Midnight each day. Then shut down again on weekends. When the clock is paused, picks can still be made, but there will be no 6 hour time limit.
A big chance there on Carson...but at least you have the assurance of knowing its a keeper league!

OK, this should do a pretty good job of explaining Queues. From the baseball threads.
On The Clock Notes and Hints
QUEUE MANAGEMENT Queue Management now serves a dual purpose. It gives you a way to line up players you want, but this can be done both for your own purposes (a cheat sheet) and for your Designated Pickers. All you have to do to add players to your queue is go to Queue Management, find the player in the list of names, and add them. After you have added players, you can arrange them using the "Move Up" and "Move Down" links for each player.
There are NO more emails sent out for queues! Everything is handled through the On the Clock system now.
DESIGNATED PICKERS Designated Pickers will no longer receive email queues. A manager's queue will now be stored in the On the Clock system and displayed as a list drop-down instead of the "Player Name" search box for their Designated Pickers and the draft admin.
However, Designated Pickers will only have access to a manager's queue if the manager makes the queue "Available." You could very well be set up as a Designated Picker for someone and if they do not have a queue or do not make it "Available," you won't have the list of players to work from. If a manager's queue is "Unavailable," it is the equivalent of them storing a cheat sheet in the system. The list will be available to them, but not to their Designated Pickers, nor the draft admin.
AVAILABLE/UNAVAILABLE As I said above, if your queue is "Available," then your designated pickers and the draft admin will see your queue list instead of the player search box when it's your turn to pick.
If your queue is "Unavailable," your designated pickers and the draft admin WILL NOT be able to see your queue.
Because of the Queue management, it is possible to designate somebody and then when it is your choice they get the email and can see your queue.
Also, if the queue is available, I can see it as the admin.
If you do not want somebody to use your queue, make it unavailable.
You can still leave them as a designated picker though.
Say I just walked in the door and saw I was next up. I could change my queue to unavailable to give me a chance to look at what has happened and make sure what I want to do.

From the Designated Picker interface:
A Designated Picker will be allowed to make picks, both missed and current, for you. When it is your turn to pick, they will see the same draft interface that you do. Use the form below to add or remove a Designated Picker. You can also see who has added you as a Designated Picker.
You can also refuse, which will email the person and tell them you refused.

I can't say that I'm that suprised. In the Serious Biz league we went to 2 QBs last year and if I recall the first 3 picks were:
1. LT 2. Manning 3. Culpepper
It bears mentioning that LT was the consensus #1 last year and after that it was muddled. Adding the 2nd QB really creates some demand for QBs and helps make the draft more strategic, at least in my opinion. It should also do the same in keeper selections.
I made my first pick without my cheatsheet, I didn't have it ready when I left work and went off of memory. After I got to work and got it done, I had Brady as my next pick and hoped he would make it back to me. I doubt if I would have gotten Ronnie Brown after the turn either, so I can't complain.

3 of the top 5 are QBs 12 of the top 15 are QBs 18 of the top 29 are QBs
When you set up a point system that penalizes all positions other than QB, that is the way the draft has to run.
With 4 points for a passing TD vice 6, the below numbers are true:
2 of the top 5 are QBs 7 of the top 15 are QBs 14 of the top 29 are QBs
So, as I said, not surprised

Damn Cliff was hoping Jordan would come back around to me, but im happy with Smith in that position. Got the best 2 receivers in the draft in smith and fitz imho. Only bad thing is they have bye week same week.

Edgerrin, Rudi, and Lamont dropped a lot in my opinion.
I actually had all 3 ranked higher in a single season league than the two backs I got.

besides, it isnt strictly personal. Gotta figure the jacka$$ for 2-3 games of suspension for telling coach where to go and what to do with himself when he gets there. Problem for TO in Dallas, Tuna will pack him into a tin sardine can and ship the damn thing off to Newfoundland. TO wake up, cold, lonely and alone. (Which would just utterly break my heart.)

If you all mind posting, I "possibly" highly possibly might be able to peek on at work to try and make a pick.. But with security at my company I doubt it.

Any thoughts on my pick of Reggie Bush with the first pick of the second round? Did I go wayyy to high? Would he have been there for my round 3 pick?

I'm not sure I'd have taken Bush that early, either. There's no guarantee he'll even start. However, and it's a big however, if he pans out, you'll be well on your way to dominating the league in future years.

For the most part, I'm thinking anything before rd4 is abit of a reach. Of course, this is a keeper league, and waiting until rd4 probably means he'd have been on someone elses squad. So..if you waned him...you got him.

Cept Deuce is no slouch himself. (depending on the extent of his recovery.) I see a RBBC there and not much way around it. They recently delt away Bennett, so they cant really afford to trade Deuce anymore. Maybe next year they couold, but for now, this year..I see it being split carries for Bush's rookie season.

everything I have heard says bush will be used very much like at USC. He'll split time in the backfield and also be moved around the formation more as a receiver. The issue I would have from a fantasy perspective is goal line situations. Even if Bush is the everydown back, why wouldn't you use McAllister at the goal line. He seems better suited, he'll be fresh, and you don't risk getting Bush injured with all that pounding. And losing red zone carries is tough. Then again, Bush has the potential to be one of the all time great backs in this league, so I dont think its a bad pick.

Oh I'd be hesitant to call it a "bad" pick. In a non-keeper league, I'd not be so hesitant. I dont see it as helping much this year, but it certainly helps for the next and the 2-5 after that.
Speaking of which....is there any limit to how long (how many consecutive years) a manager can call the same player as a "keeper" on their squad?

I agree Deuce would be a good choice for short and goal...but, I don't expect the Saints to have too many red zone situations.
Especially after Bush takes it 60 yards every time the Saints get the ball at scrimmage.

BI guess you can send me a quick email to ignore your queues and just leave them to the designated picker, or if you are changing your mind like what just happened, email me as well so I don't make a pick you don't want.

I'm going to be unavailable on and off all evening. I've got two picks coming up and I really don't want to use the same queue for both. I want to set one queue for the first pick. And then two different queues for the second pick. Which of those two queues get used for the second pick will depend on who I get in the first pick. Would anyone be willing to take instructions like that for me? (This may be moot considering my first pick could come around before I leave around 4:30EST) Thanks russelldl

Russell...if your pick gets to you before 4:30, I will still be around at that point, so I can pick immediately after you, putting you right back on the clock.
Since your picks sandwich mine, I recommend you don't send me your queue, even though I have my 8 guys lined up already for my 2 picks.

Getting ready to go to my 3rd meeting for today. As I said before, Thurs is my killer day. Not sure what my evening looks like, so don't want to volunteer to take Russells directions.

So I was out playing golf this morning when I got a phone call on my cell. My wife and I have been working on adopting a child and we were finally approved today. We went up to pick him up directly from the golf course, I didnt even finish my round. so therefore, my fantasy draft was not the 1st thing on my mind.
We adopted a little boy, 6 years old. great little kid. My wife and I are totally psyched. We just got him to sleep, and that was not easy, but nothing worth having ever is.

Thanks for the call last night! Sorry I didn't call you back, but by the time I got it, the game was over and I was heading home. I wasn't too much later then when you called. Plus...it was late, wasn't sure if I was going to wake you up!
However in my haste to get online, sign in to Kafenatid, and make my picks, somehow I managed to end up with Tatum Bell and David Carr....
Haha...no, i am actually happy with both picks. I think Tatum would have went in the second round if it weren't for Shanahan's stupid "Mike Bell is going to start" comment.

I'll probably set one today as well, as I will probably be on the golf course again. Seems we doing pretty good on picks and time. Half way through the draft and still about 2+ weeks till opening day.
Some of the slowness can definitely be blamed on me cause of work etc.

I will be here most of the day...I can check queues.
Will be gone for baseball again later tonight, but will get that all straighted out again so my picks get entered fast.
This draft is definitely different. It will be interesting to see who managers grab from the remaining pool of available players to fill roster spots, and then reserve bench spots. I have to admit I am surprised by some strategies so far...

Next week would be really tough for me. I'm travelling for a training class.
Sarge, My #2 pick was the Bears D, so if you had pick Rod Smith, russeldl would have been out of luck.
I originally had the Bears above Smith, but when I looked at russldl's and barilko's rosters they had a grand total of 2 WR's, so I thought I could grab Da Bears after the turn.
Woops, I just saw that promize grabbed Carolina 6 picks prior. If I had known that I might have changed the order, probably not though.
My queue is currently empty, I can't access my spreadsheet here at the in-laws, if it makes it back to me I'll pick around 8AM tomorrow morning.

Indeed. Caught me on the wrong foot. Then I didnt help myself when I took Green vs Plummer back in rd 4. Was ready to take Bledsoe when I saw Green still on the board. Lept at him w/o looking first. oh-noooooooooooo mr bill! Green had same bye week as Bledsoe. Means I needed 2 more starters or take a POOR showing in week 3.

|
316 | sarge33rd
ID: 575352217 Tue, Aug 15, 2006, 15:19

lol yep...5. Why?
Johnson is 37 years old. T Jackson. if he isnt inept, will be taking over those reins in the near future. SInce this is a keeper league, he has potential.(Though atm its a long-shot.) His trade value however, skyrockets with a Johnson injury.
Frye, has definitive potential to develop into a keeper. With Green and Bledsoe aging, I dont know that I'll be high on naming either/both as keepers come end of the year. I might, but I wanted other options due to their respective ages.
Holcomb...was a needed acquisition, when I screwed up and took Green in addition to Bledsoe when I should have taken Plummer.
Holding 5 though, with 4 as starters, gives me trade options come later in the year.
I think at RB, I'm holding 2 definite keepres (league limit for any one position) though I also hold 2 who could turn into such. (Potentially necessary, if Westbrook gets hurt yet again.)
WR...thin, but 2 who could turn into keepers and one guy whose not a "stud" but is a very solid WR. (Driver)

There was a bit of a problem with my pick in rd 16. I put a queue with three players to make a pick in 15. One obviously got left over, and was picked for me, 10 minutes before I was getting in touch with my wife to make my pick. I didn't want Wilkins. What can we do to rectify this.

When leaving a queue, you should always send a little note if you have specific directions for the picks. Either here, or via email.
My thoughts: I can delete the pick and insert someone else, but I don't think it would be fair to back up the draft and insert someone who has already been taken.
Any other thoughts from managers?

Wow! That was fast.
So, in order of selection, here's my take:
Wiggs: Strengths: WR - with T.O., Chad Johnson and Roy Williams, Wiggs has the best 3-man combo in our league. Weaknesses: QB with McNair and Pennington. McNair will go on the DL by Week 7 while Pennington doesn't have the OL he'd need, even if he were capable of producing decent numbers.
GF: Strengths: RB - with Rudi, Droughns and LT, this is the class of the league at the position Weaknesses: WR: With Koren Robinson probably spending the next few weeks in jail, and possibly a lot longer, GF needs more depth than he has.
GL: I like this team a lot. Cliff has assembled a strong crop of WR in Housh, Coles and Chambers, while anchoring his RBs with the league's leading rusher. Weaknesses: Leftwich will be a problem. His numbers are always suspect and he's an injury risk. Even Jag fans were yelping for Garrard last season.
JTSerb: Strengths: Peyton can conceivably win the QB contest all by himself. And if Warner gets hurt, Leinart could step in and give JTS the clear edge at the position. And then there's a potentially dominating group of WRs in Fitzgerals, Smith and Moss. The acquisition of Keyshawn Johnson might make Smith's TD numbers go up, even if his yardage decreases a bit. Bucs D could surprise. Weaknesses: Shockey will succumb to injury before the season's half over and, even if he doesn't, his strong dislike for Coughlin will create problems of its own.
Dwiffan:One of the most balanced teams we have. No one category is overwhelming but, with the exception of QB (Warner,Delhomme)each is strong. Maroney could be the rookie of the year if Dillon goes down on schedule and Brandon Lloyd could have a better year than Santana Moss - yup, you heard it here first!
For me, the team that shows a lot of Promize is: well, Promize. I love the combination of James, Barber and Fred Taylor. The QBs seem a bit weak, especially Brooks, but with Gates and the Carolina D, this is a strong team. Even the bench (with Bruce, Barlow and Young) is impressive.
Stuck60: Strengths: QB. If Palmer comes back by the second or third week and combines with Hasselbeck for the rest of the season, these two could challenge Peyton. Weaknesses: WR. Mediocre group, especially compared to the competition. At RB, Julius Jones has yet to be named the starter. Even if he does start, Barber is sure to steal minutes.
Electroman: Strengths: Phillip Rivers spent quite a while learning Marty's system while Brees was the starter. Now, he should be able to finesse most of the problems typically encountered by first-year starters. If Culpepper's knee holds up, these two, in addition to Brees, could be competitive. Weaknesses: If Addai plays behind Dominic Rhodes, putting up numbers from the RB position could be tough.
Sarge: Another team that won't dominate at any position, but is incredibly strong overall. If Westbrook manages to stay off IR, then the RBs will lead the way. Weaknesses: Jets D could be a bottom dweller most of the season.
Frick: Strengths: With Brown, Foster and Gore (who seems primed for a breakout year) Frick could have the best 1-2-3 punch in the league at RB. Chris Simms could move into the starting lineup if Vick disappoints. Weaknesses; WR crop, none of whom figure to put up big numbers.
Russell: Strengths: Bears D will lead the stats race most of the season. Weaknesses: RB. Among Dillon, Kevin Jones and the Deuce, we're talking about two that may not even start!
Barilko: Strengths: This team is a potential powerhouse. McGahee, Bush and Davis presents enough balance to score well each week while Kitna may be the QB sleeper of the year. Weaknesses: TE and Colts D, which I think is overrated.
I make Promize and Barilko the joint preseason favorites.

Wiggs: Pulled one of the 3 lottery spots and ended up with Larry. Nothing like waking up Football Morn with the Number 1 pick! Then Wiggs decided to pull a Microsoft and monopolize almost every good WR on the board! Great Receivers and Defense combos, RB's will be solid. Weak at QB. Sleeper of the team: Roy Williams
GolfFreak: LT would have been my number one pick. Somehow most of the rest of us fell asleep and allowed Rudi to fall all the way down to him with the second last pick of the second round. Nice score there. Also looking good with a sleeper Seattle defense. Weaknesses here are QB. Sleeper of the Team: Seattle Defense.
Goatlocker: Got the 3rd #1 option choice in Alexander. That is like going to a Maxim Hot Chicks Party and ending up getting "stuck" with the 3rd best looking girl there. Also picked up some solid support with Jordan, Holt, and Bulger. Very solid team all around with a great crew at RB. Sleeper of the Team: Drew Bennett
JTSerb: Pushing RB back to the 7th round is risky, but picked up a top 4 WR crew that would make Mike Martz giggle like a schoolgirl. And of course nabbed Peyton, the top QB of all time that was cursed with a girls name. (Didn't his dad learn anything while hanging around a football locker room?) Did manage to get some potential at RB with Jones, Williams, and White, and now is hoping for some injuries and/or some of those guys to step up and claim the jobs. Sleeper of the Team: LenDale White.
Dwfffan: Set himself up with an all around solid team. Managed to get a great player at all 3 key positions with Portis, Harrison, and Delhomme. Hopefully Clinton can manage a Whitehouse Bill turnaround and be ready for the start of the season. I know some questioned Delhomme in the 2nd round, but given his WR's, I think he will pass more than a fat guy after Taco Bell. Added some value with Maroney and Warner. Sleeper of the Team: Would love to pick Delhomme and Warner, but they were pretty high picks, so I will go with Micheal Jenkins.
Promize: Great crew at RB with Tiki, Edge, and Fred---if Fred manages to stay healthy. Also picked up the top TE and the top Defense. If Oakland can get their heads on straight, Brooks can become a top QB, something that Saints fans will curse at until they realize Brooks enabled them to get Reggie. Solid all around, especially if Vince Young gets time at the QB spot. Sleeper of the Team: Aaron Brooks
Stuck60: Great 1-2 at the QB spot, which is important in a 2 QB league. Also picked up some solid RB's and WR's. I like Joe Horn to bounce back big. Caused me to go "Who the heck is that guy?" for the first time of this draft with his pick of Jerious Norwood. Sleeper of the Team: Joe Horn. (Hopefully not Mike Bell, as I have the other two Denver RB's.)
Electroman: A good solid all around team. I like the Cadillac and Anquan to become elite at their positions this year. Culpepper, if he can be 100% could have a great year in Miami with Chambers, McMicheal, and Brown helping him out. Also like the other two QB's on the roster. If Addai can win the starting gig in Indy, watch out! Sleeper of the draft: Lots of candidates in Brees, Moulds, Burleson, Addai, and Greg Jones, but I am going with Philip Rivers.
Sarge: Steven Jackson will be a top 4/5 pick for years to come after this year. Bledsoe should enjoy using his gun to find TO, so long as they get along. I can see it now, TO getting in Drew's face and Drew introducing TO to all five of his left knuckles. As a seasoned vetern, Drew knows that you never use your throwing hand to punch a teammate. Great pickups with Green, Benson, Driver, and Clayton. A bit of a reach in my eyes with Matt Jones in the 5th, but a real great keeper option. Sleeper of the team: Cedric Benson in the 8th
Frick: A solid all around team with many key players: If the QB's live up to expectiations, and the RB's stay healthy, definitely a playoff team here. Ronnie Brown, having got rid of his marijuana problem, will now get more carries, which will give him great numbers, Gore should win the SF job, and Simms will have a good year in the Bay. Sleeper of the team: I like Simms, Gore, and Chris Cooley.
Russell: Probably the best 1-2 QB pair, at least up there with Stuck. Also managed to get a great sleeper RB with Kevin Jones. If Martz can get Kjones to be somewhat Faulkish, then Russell has a great find. If the Bears can repeat their last year's performance, and Parker and Dillon can stay their team's #1 RB, then Russell will have a good year. Sleeper of the Team: Kevin Jones and Antonio Bryant.
Barilko: Went for a little keeper potential with my first two picks of McGahee and Bush. Added some nice chips with Davis, Big Ben, Kitna, Carr, and Andre. Definitely missed out on some of the guys I had hoped for, and really relying on some of my RB's to win their jobs. Weak at TE, but will address that during the year. Sleeper of the team: Domanick Davis in the 3rd round, if he can stay healthy. Jerry Porter in the 9th round if he plays.

FWIW, here's my "take":
QB: JTSERB leads the pack here with SITS nipping right at his heels. I just really like JTs combo of Manning/Johnson early in the year. Once Warner smacks his hand again and Leinart gets some play time, how can you not like a guy whose 2 WRs are named Fitzgerald and Boldin? (Remind anyone of Clayton/Duper for Miami many years ago?) SITS: with C Palmer and Hasselbeck has a solid 1-2 right there. His 3-4 arent upto snuff with JTs, and that why JT gets the nod to top picks at this position.
RB: The problem with not having a 1st 3 pick, is that the top tier 3 RBs (we all know it too), will be gone before oyu get your selection. The problem with a top 3 pick, is that everyone else has a chance to hit the RB pool twice, before you get your second shot. If Fred Taylor stays healthy (hey, odder things happen. Afterall, someone wins the lottery every now and then), then I really like Promize squad of RBs. Afterall, whats not to like about Barber, Edge and Taylor with Barlow/T Taylor in deep reserve? I have to put my own set, Jackson/Westbrook/C Benson/C Houston/Moats into 2nd here. If Taylor goes down, then I put my set ahead of his. Electro is the wildcard here. Cadillac, Addai and if Taylor goes down G Jones along with C Brown and Blaylock....could easily find itself in the thick of things as well.
WR: JTSERB again, with GL right smack on his heels. Fitz, Smith, R Moss, H Ward...how can you not get giddy looking at that lineup? Only real concern for me there, is that A Brooks has NOT looked good in preseason and that could quickly diminish Moss's contributions.
TE/K/D...To be honest...who cares? lol These are the "odd points" here and there. The TE with a 2 TD game, the K with the 5 FG performance or the D with the 6 sack day are what carries the day for these positions. I'm not terribly concerend one way or the other with any of these.
Overall: I've been in a couple of leagues over a few years now with Goatlocaker, and he ALWAYS drafts very solidly. I would project he and JT playing for the league championship. I like my chances of making the playoffs, but beyond that, it really depends on injury status and my history in that regard does not bode well for me.

Welp, I like it so far this year, it has helped. Culdeus last year turned me onto it after having a dismal draft in another league. :)
It isn't free, well you can download a demo version, but doesn't give you up-to-date stats, ranks, etc...
It is pretty nice, cause it gives you a bit of a forecast of upcoming picks based on other team needs.
Go google it and read about it, so far I've liked it this year and running it on the 3 current drafts im in.

My rantings about teams QB,RB and WR's
Wiggs
QB Mcnair and Pennington is possibly the worst combo in the leauge in my opinion. I dont see either of them doing much this year. Cutler was a good pick for a keeper league though.
RB Very solid at this position. Johnson will probally be # 1 back. Dunn puts up numbers every year, but never gets credit. I dont think Green will do much that injury ended his career pretty much IMHO. Nice gamble on Priest in the 16th round
WR Johnson and Owens will be 2 of the top 5 WR probally. Galloway and Williams could be number ones on some teams in this league
Best Value Pick: TO with the 25th pick Biggest Reach: Vinatieri with the 120th pick
GF
QB Favre is on his last legs and Alex Smith still isnt ready. Griese could be a huge pickup though as we all no Grossmans history though
RB Tomlinson is a stud as we all know and Rudi just makes his RB starters that much better. Best starting combo in the league. Droughns would start on several teams in this league. Duckett, Moore, and Gado are there just in case of injuries, but could do something if put in the right situation.
WR Holt should be a top 10 WR, Burress I like alot and another year with Eli will only make him better. Evans im really not sure what to think I suppose he will be OK. Koren is a drunk slob that I wouldnt want on my team. Will Edwards be ok after the injury?
Best Value Pick: Rudi with the 23rd pick Biggest Reach: Tony G with the 71st pick.. I think he is on the tail end of his career and will have a tough time being a top 7 TE
Goatlocker
QB Bulger is solid.. how will the Rams offense run without Martz though? I think Brunell will be starting over Leftwich for GL though even though he was drafted later. Just not sold on Leftwich.
RB Alexander (see Johnson or LT).. Lamont Jordan shouldnt have fell this far. I think we will all be regretting this when him an Alexander run all over our teams. Chester is a very nice backup and Drew could be a stud in the future.
WR I see alot of 60 yard TD for Chambers this year from Culpepper. He has a chance to be a top 5 WR. T.J. was solid last year and as long as Johnson stays healthy he will always be singled covered. Bennett was a great pick. Volek loves him.
Best Value Pick: Jordan with the 27th pick.. how did he fall so far?
Biggest Reach: Leftwich. He could have solified the WR situation better early and had Brunell and Bulger as the starters
JTSERB
QB: Honestly the pick I most didnt want in the draft was 4 because I knew I would take Manning due to starting 2 QBS. Would be sweet if he could put up same numbers as 2 years ago. Johnson should be solid enough to make a great combo with Manning. Leinart will see some time this year as we know Warner will get hurt. Garrard seems like the fan favorite in JAX. If Leftwich gets hurt I will promptly put Garrard in the starting lineup.
RB Im very week here. I took a chance on taking later RB and that could be my doom. Thomas Jones should start in Chicago (whats wrong with the best rushing season for a CHI Rb since Walter Payton?), but Benson will start at first because of the Money. Deangelo should start by week 3. Suggs would have been a nice pick if he didnt fail physical and get sent back to Cleveland. Lendale and Duce are picks hoping for injuries to there starters ahead of them.
WR Best starting WR in the league bar-none. Fitz will lead my team for years to come. Steve Smith will be even better (is that possible?) with Johnson there. Moss who knows really... He will be good enough, but can he be great again? Ward is a solid play week in and week out.
Best Value Pick: Jones with 88th pick if he starts.
Biggest Reach: Lee Suggs because he got traded back :(
DWF
QB: Delhomme and Warner is a solid starting combo even if I think Delhomme went to high.
RB Portis should still be a stud even with injury. Washington will run, run and run some more. Not really a second starter here.. I believe all of them are behind someone on there respective team
WR Harrison is primed for another great year and Jackson is the top WR in a high octane offense. So I like that combo. Terry Glenn was a reach in my opinion. Moss could be a great sleeper if he gets some PT.
Best Value Pick I really dont see anyone. Was a solid draft though
Biggest Reach Delhomme with the 20th pick. I had Bulger, Plummer and Warner ahead of him.
Promize
QB Plummer I have always liked and he will have another solid year in Denver's offense. Brooks is hot or miss I suppose. You know he will throw alot, but he was a big bust last year. Young will start sometime this year, but will it be to late in the season to matter? Neverthenless a nice keeper pick.
RB Tiki is getting older, but he is still a top 5 back. Edgerrin Im kinda on the fance this year. I know he will be solid, but not the same numbers as in INDY. Taylor will get hurt and Im predicting will retire this year.
WR Walker will be a good combo with Plummer. Ill put Gates here since he is pretty much a WR anyway, but might see decreased numbers with Brees gone. Moose is a bust with Chicago, Bruce is washed up. Clayton was a nice pick in the 13th round though.
Best Value Pick Plummer with the 55th pick Biggest Reach Moose with the 127th pick
Stuck60
QB Palmer was a suprise, but even if he doesnt start will week 3 will have a solid season and he should be right behind Peyton for years to come. Hasselback completes the best QB combo in the league.
RB Does Parcel like Jones? Everyone seems to think Barber will steal carries from him, but If Jones keeps the ball off the ground he should be just fine. Jamal Lewis had a horrible year last year as all though 400+ carries caught up to him. Will Mike Bell really start? If he does great pick here.
WR Santana had a horrible year last year if you take away all those 50 60 yard TD receptions LOL.. Mason is back with Mcnair and thats speaks well for him. Joe Horn was another bust last year, but he has no where to go but up right? Like the Keyshawn pick in round 14
Best Value Pick Keyshawn with the 162nd pick
Biggest Reach Palmer if he doesnt come back healthy or reinjures himself.
Electro
QB Culpepper I dont think will be as good as he was in Minesotta as Miami will run alot more. Brees should be fine with Deuce and Bush in the backfield to take the pressure off and Horn and Stallworth out there. Everyone says Rivers has stepped right in just fine in SD.
RB Cadillac tailed off last year after starting fast due to injuries, but I like this pick. Im not sure if Addai is starting, but he went were he should have. Hopefully Chris Brown gets hurt so Lendale starts :)..
WR Anquan is a stud and will be for years to come, Branch still hasent played I believe so that could be wa question mark.
Best Value Pick Rivers with 101st pick Biggest Reach 2 DEF and 2 PK.. kinda hurts the depth there.
Sarge
QB The 2 old verterans here with Bledsoe and Green, but both are top 15 QBs. Bledsoe should be better with TO there.
RB Sarge took the safe route with Jackson and Westbrook as his first 2 picks, but usually the safe route is the smart route. A great starting combo here. Benson has a possibilty to be a great pick if his shoulder is ok.
WR Jones was a reach IMHO, but keeper league warrants the pick a little more I suppose. Driver is the #1 in GB and was a nice pick. Overall I think his WR crew is pretty week.
Best Value Pick I really dont see one
BIggest Reach Matt Jones with the 66th pick.
Frick
QB Donovan and Vick could be great, but also could be very bad due to injury risks. If they stay healthy he should be just fine there. Simms is a nice pick in the 8th round.
RB I love Ronnie Brown and with Ricky gone I think he is primed for possibly a rushing title. Foster is and inury rish and Deangelo should be starting soon. Gore is the starter, but with SF being behind alot he wont do as good as he could.
WR Wayne is a nice pick and should put solid numbers up. Rod Smith just keeps getting older, but still keep performing. Overally a pretty week core though.
Best Value Pick Brown with 10th pick in the draft.
Biggest reach John Brown in 11th round. Kickers should never go this high EVER!
Russell
QB Brady and Manning is a great combo here. Brady will throw throw and throw some more this year again. Eli can only get better this year and has alot of weapons with Barber, Burress and Shockey.
RB Jones is a injury risk, but could be a great pick. Willie Parker will have some carries taken away from him from Deuce this year, but fell down the board a bit so it was good pick. Deuce really nobody knows. He is a great back, but how many carries will Bush steal?
WR Really nothing that stands out here. I suppose Stallworth could be a solid player.
Best Value Pick Parker with 38th pick.
Biggest Reach Grossman with in the 12th round. He hasent shown anything except he cant stay on field.
Barilko
QB Big Ben look likes he should be just fine. Kitna has a possiblity of putitng up huge numbers in detroit if they can put it all together. Carr still has the chance to be good, but this is his last chance in Houston I think. Schaub is a great pick if Vick does down.
RB McGahhee is a top 10 back. I didnt like the Bush pick. I think he went to high even if he will be great. can Davis get healthy? If he does its a nice pick in the 4th round. Tatum and Bell are hoping Denver is really going to start M Bell.
WR Andre Johnson has a chance to be great. If i remember correctly he had a solid year 2 years ago. Porter is a cry baby and he wont do much in Oakland.
Best Value Pick: Davis if he is healthy
Biggest Reach: Bush with the 13th pick. There are alot of players that should have went ahead of him. I had Bush pegged for 3rd round.

I've got to defend that 12th round pick of grossman. he was the last starting QB left on the board and I had no backup yet. So yes, he was a reach, but he was the only option.

I love the write-ups and team disections!
And Bush, for me...
Knowing its a keeper league, I think Bush has the chance to be a stud RB in the very near future. Seeing Addai go in the 4th round backs up my thoughts that Bush had added value with his keeper potential. I've seen Bush go anywhere from 2nd-4th round in non-keeper leagues.
I am happy with where I got him, 2nd round.

I will drop in my 2 cents on the draft:
Wiggs
Been mentioned, but great WR corps. Unfortunatly, the QB's are injury prone and one is a back up, but a solid in a keeper draft. LJ is solid, and Dunn is good also. A friend made a few picks that weren't wanted apparently, would have liked to have seen the team without the mess up.
GolfFreak
Great trio of RB's. Like the WR bunch also. But like Wiggs, there could be a problem at QB. Gonzalez adds to the air attack.
Goatlocker
Nice solid team. No glaring problems jump out when you look over the team. Should be a tough team through out the year.
JtSerb
Peyton is a stud at QB. Garrard could be a steal if Leftwich gets hurt. Great WR's. RB position is weak IMO.
dwfffan
Like all owners of Portis, hoping that he gets back for the opener. Warner has a nice offense that he fits in to. Harrison is great. Should be a contender.
Promize
Nice group at RB. Gates is a monster, should help with a group of WR that I am not sure about. Two nice Young QB's. IMO, went early with the def. pick.
Stuck60
Must be reading everything about Palmer. If healthy, makes a nice trio of QB's. If Lewis can stay healthy, and return to form, and M. Bell is indeed the starter, nice group at that position.
Electroman
Overall, I am happy with my team. RB is my biggest ?. Could go both ways. Hope my QB's are fully recovered. Like my WR group w/Heap at TE.
Sarge33
Westbrook and Moats go hand in hand IMO. Has other nice options at that position also. As mentioned before, maybe streched with Matt Jones. QB's are old, but reliable.
Frick
This is a solid team. Very good draft. This is going to be a tough team to play through out the year also. Maybe picked a K early, but it didn't hurt him.
Russelldl
Has Brady and the other Manning, very solid. Think Parker is a little overrated, but has good RB depth. Couple of good young WR's too.
Barilko6
The commish. First off, thanks for all the work, and for the idea of the league. Great RB's. Good WR corps. Carr could be great this year with a new coach. Nice team.

I'll try to post some comments about the teams after I have a chance to look over them and compare them. I'm barely aware of who I took in the last several rounds. (Note, don't travel on business and then leave your laptop at the conference when trying to conduct multiple drafts. At one point I was updating my queues in the hotel lobby from memory)
One quick comment, I took the kicker when I did because he was rated significantly higher than any other player. I knew that I was going to be traveling and wanted to lock up a decent kicker. I already had the rest of my roster set, and other than stealing someone's handcuff no other pick was an obvious need for my team. (Other than WR, but at that point I don't think there was anyone that would have improved my corps of mediocore WRs)
I only wanted to draft 1 D when I took my first one, but since I didn't post specific instructions I got 2. I haven't compared their schedules yet, but if they don't work out at least they should be tradable.

Working on my comments. Will take quite a bit of time though.
So, while I am doing that, a couple of trivia questions for all.
And I'll answer them in the morning.
Question 1 What was the biggest Change that was made by the NFL this year that had a huge impact on Fantasy Drafts?????????
Question 2 How many knew of this change?
Question 3 How many planned their drafts around this change?

re 362:
I think its the end zone celebration rule! (Although I am just getting in from a night of beer and more beer)
I purposefully didn't take Chad Johnson or T Owens because of this rule, because the NFL is cracking down hard on dances, celebrations, etc...and guys like Johnson and Owens just won't have the same motivation to find the endzone like they have had in the past.
I mean I can see it going through Johnson's head now..."Why bother scoring a touchdown if I can't do my celebration?!?"
For that reason I took Willis McGahee.

OK, While I'm on a roll, I'm going to answer my questions, with questions.
As a reminder, here are the Questions: Question 1 What was the biggest Change that was made by the NFL this year that had a huge impact on Fantasy Drafts????????? How many BYE weeks this Year 7 How many BYE weeks last Year 9 How many BYE weeks with 6 teams off 2
Question 2 How many knew of this change? Looking at the drafts, I'm guessing 1 or 2 Question 3 How many planned their drafts around this change? Looking at the drafts I would say 1 or 2, but 3 or 4 might have lucked out.
Not done with my analysis yet, but you can guess what the slant is.
By the way, anybody willing to let me schedule who I play when :)

I was aware of the change in byes, week 6 is a killer for most fantasy teams.
Although week 3 is a killer for the RBs, LT and LJ both on bye, something I used for my strategy in the Rotoguru Auction league.
When you are leaving queues all of the time it is hard to take all of the bye week considerations into effect. My thought was take the best available player and hope to trade or get a WW player to fill in the holes.

OK, comments to follow. Please do not take anything I have to say personal. None of it was meant that way. Just an old fart having fun with the way he saw the draft.

Let me get started and see if I can get my thoughts down into some coherent format that will mean something for everybody else.
First, I think everybody knew going in I didn’t care for 6 points for passing TDs for a 2 QB league.
Really shifted the power and put a lot of other positions further out of the loop than normal.
General comments before I start. I believe there are 7-9 critical slots for every team and those are the only ones I’m going to talk to. QB, QB, RB, RB, WR/RB, BN, BN, BN, BN And you can guess what the 4 bench slots better be.
Some data first that will tell you why I am saying the above. The below is quoted from TalentedMrRoto website:
” Wide receivers are way too unpredictable. Those who took Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison or Terrell Owens with an early round pick… how’d that work out for you? TD receptions are unpredictable. I offer Jurevicious, Joe and his 10 TD as exhibit A. So I like to go by yardage. And do you know how many WR had five or more 100 yard games last year? I mean, five is not that many, right? Basically once every three games, right? How many, do you think? I’ll give you a second.
The answer is… 8. That’s right. 31 teams, 3 main WR each…. Only 8 WR had 5 or more 100 yard games. Okay, now can you guess who they were?
Steve Smith with 9 jumps to mind, I am sure. The Arizona studs – Boldin with 8 and Fitzgerald with 7 – are next. Then two guys who went way before them in drafts – Torry Holt and Marvin Harrison with 6 each. The final three to have five 100 yard games? Well, I don’t where they went in your draft but I am pretty sure that it was a while before Santana Moss, Eddie Kennison and Donald Driver were drafted. And do you know how many on this list made last year’s “At least 5 games over 100 yards or more?” Two. Torry Holt and… wait for it… Eddie Kennison of all people.
Now, we’ll go back to 2004. Know who is on the list from 2004 that is on 2006’s list? Two guys: Torry Holt and Anquan Boldin. Three years and only one guy is on all three lists. Only two others – Boldin and Kennison – make the list more than once in three years.”
OK, that said, I’m just going through the teams in draft order. Comments do not take injuries or players losing their starting role into account:
Wiggs: Both starting QBs might or might not have jobs for long. Only backup is a backup At least week 7 and 9 with only one starting QB. Could be OK from the RB Side, but will depend on his bench. Lots of risk there, so could have no RB in week 3 or 5. Flex spot will have to be a WR.
Golf Freak Both starting QBs are questionable. Only Backup is a Backup. Might have 2 QB in week 6. Only 1 QB in week 7. Could be OK from the RB side. Backup RBS have byes in week 5 and 6
GoatLocker Will always have 2 Starting QB Should always have 3 starting RB Team was drafted 100% based on Bye weeks and best available.
JTSerb Both starting QBs and one backup who is a backup have a Bye in week 6. Other Backup is also a backup. A Little dicey at RB, but should be OK
Dwfffan Both starting QBs have a bye in week 9. Only backup is a backup RB is a little tricky depending on PT for some of them, but could work out okay
Promize Unless his backup who is a backup wins the starting job right away (bye weeks are 3 and 4), he will have two early weeks with only one starting QB Another case where the RBs might work out. Would end up having to go WR at flex
Stuck Both starting QBs have a bye week 5. IF JP beats out Holcomb, he will have both weeks covered. As long as Mike Bell really is the starter, he will be okay at RB other than needing to cover the flex with a WR for his bye weeks.
Electroman High Risk high reward Starters with different bye weeks. Backup is a starter, should be okay. Should be okay at RB depending on how much PT Addai gets.
Sarge Both starting QBs have a Bye in week 3. But, two backups who are both starters, and one who is a backup. RB issues will be driven by PT for Benson, Houston, and Moats.
Frick Should be OK at QB with a backup who is a starter. RB will be completely at the mercy of Deshaun staying healthy.
Russelldl Starting QBs have different bye weeks. One backup who is a starter and one backup who is a backup. RBs should be okay depending on Deuce.
Barilko Starting QBs have different Bye weeks. Backup QB is a starter with a good Bye week and another backup. RBs should be just fine and could be a strength.
That’s it from the Peanut Gallery. Please don’t take anything I said Personal. Just what one old fart saw of the draft.

Oh I know. lol What bothers me, is that apparently the front office for the Jets, feels hes at least as good if not better than, their existing options. Else, why get him? IOW...the coaching staff must figure Houstons no better than Barlow, and THAT bothers me. :(

I think we had agreed upon the following:
$20 per team.
Winner gets: 150 Second gets: 60 Third gets : 20 Kafenatid Fee: 10
Everyone agreed to this when they signed up for the yahoo. Frick, if you would be willing to take the money, I say a deadline of payment should be instituted, and anyone not paying by that date forfeits their team. Maybe 2nd Sunday of the season?
Thoughts?

A long awaited, much needed, glimmer of hope for Da Bears:
"The AP reports Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan has not decided yet on his starting running back due to the improved play of Tatum Bell.
Tatum has reportedly responded since Mike Bell was named the starter in early August. It may be what the "Mastermind" was hoping for all along."
And in related news I read someone very reputable calling David Carr as the number 1 must start QB for week 1. (My friend Kevin is very reputable)

Well then I better back up the team I have assembled.
Tale of the Bells Tatum>>>Mike
John Madden was in Denver to announce a football game one weekend when he noticed a special phone near the Broncos' bench. He asked Coach Shanahan what it was for and was told it was a hotline to God. John asked the coach if he could use it, and the coach said: "Sure, but it will cost you $100."
Madden scratched his head, then said: "What the heck, I need some help picking some games." He pulled out his wallet and paid the $100. Madden was perfect that week.
The next weekend, Madden was in Philadelphia when he noticed the same kind of phone near the Eagles' bench. He asked Coach Reid what the phone was for, and Andy said: " It's a hotline to God, and if you want to use it, it will cost you $100."
Recalling the previous week, Madden pulled out his wallet and gladly paid the $100. Once again, Madden was perfect.
The next weekend, Madden was in Dallas at Texas Stadium when he noticed the same phone near the Cowboy's bench. He asked Coach Parcells if it was a hotline to God. Tuna said, "Yes it is. Do you want to use it? It'll cost you 35 cents."
Madden looked at Coach Parcells and said, "Wait a minute! I just paid $100 in Denver and $100 in Green Bay to use the same phone! Why in Dallas do they only charge 35 cents?"
Parcells looked at Madden and replied very matter-of-factly, "In Texas, it's a local call."
The moral of that story? I hope Tatum Bell plays more than Mike Bell.

re 413: But our league is a 12 team league, with 2 starting QBs!!! So that means I have a top 12 QB with Carr!

Bledsoe tried to score a -23. 3 picks and looked bad enough to prolly start a QB controversy in Dallas. He doesnt pick it up HUGE next week, I'd not be surprised to see Romo get some reps with the first team in the following week.
That shot Green took was u-g-l-y. Picture a guy going into the QB slide, and just as he starts to lay out at about knee height, picture an NFL defender on the fly, shoulder slamming directly into the QBs helmet. Head snaps back and slams into the ground. Thats pretty much how it went. Green lay on the field forprobably 10 minutes before they carted him off. I doubt he'll be playing next week, or the following. I'd keep him out for at least that long if I were the coach. If we need him later, I'd prefer his bell not be ringing at the time.
Such is the woeful tale of my 2 QB's in this 2 QB league. I already went in and dumped a backup WR to pickup Huard. Just in case. And if Bledsoe loses his job this week, my starters next week would be Huard and Charlie Frye. Why does that potentiality not make me feel very "happy"?

In a league starting 2 QBs and granting 6 pts per Pa TD, its sad to see the saga of sarge and injuries continue so devastatngly:
Trent Green, QB KC
News: The Kansas City Star reports that Chiefs QB Trent Green took neurological tests for his concussion Tuesday and has not been given a timetable to return to action. Lingering effects remain for Green, who cannot drive a car or even throw a football right now. "We're confident he's coming back," coach Herm Edwards said. "When he's coming back ... nobody knows. I haven't even asked. Because I don't want to know. I told him, 'It's on your schedule.'"
Analysis: The Chiefs have begun expanding the playbook for backup Damon Huard and have given some first-team reps to rookie Brodie Croyle. Owners are advised to keep Green reserved as much as possible, but if you have to dump him to get a QB to start this week, go for it. Don't drop him unless you have to. The Chiefs are on bye in Week 3.

Just reviewing the additions to rosters last week, and was surprised to notice only 2 players were actually added to rosters on last Monday, a kicker and a TE.
Do we need to look at the current way we add players to teams, if not for this year, for next?

Using Yahoo for our auction league too. Every week, I lock all the managers out of add/drops 15 minutes before kick-off. Then come noon Tue, I unlock the four at the bottom ofour standings. They have first shot at the wire, for one deal each if they want it. Then come Wed morning, I unlock the next 4 and Wed evening, I unlock the last 4.

I love football, but I don't want to have to sit at the computer all day Sunday, sunday night, etc etc ... Just so I can grab a player that I need.
Most leagues have a priority method like Sarge said and it usually based on the league record.. This helps with balancing the league and stopping folks for hording players etc.
I don't think we have anything like that in our league, my main problem is, I don't have time to research players, see who is hurt etc, till I get home from work (security reasons we are very limited on computer access).
Each night when I get home, there is about 10 moves already been made leaving me with just about nothing to choose from to fix a need in my team.
Just seems it would be fair for all next year of course, to set it up with a Wednesday/Thursday order system and then you can make it free for all after the waiver rounds go through.

Your points make a lot of sense Promize. The pools I have been a part of in the past always went with the first come-first serve premise.
The waiver system would allow for a much fairer procedure for those that want to think over their moves.
Of course, this season would be too late to implement it, but what do other people think of revising our waiver claim system for next year?

Crap...I knew Damon Huard was going to do well this week against SF, but I still didn't start him. I even offered him to about half the teams in the league for WR help...
I hope Kitna and Carr put up huge days to help the team...

I have some extra QB's available to trade for a WR or RB.
Anyone needing a QB make me an offer, at this point David Carr would cost you the most...

I was wondering. The teams that make the playoffs make it with points or win loss record.

Won lost record. Points are only to break a tie, at least I am pretty sure how it goes with H2H.

I just wanted to post a quick update because you all were so great about my info about adopting our son. As of Thursday night we are no longer only foster parents we are now available to officially adopt. We are definately going to do this, with his acceptance of course, but we wanted to let him have some time with us. Alittle brag here, when we got him he was compared to a 3 year old and they didnt want him in a regular ed classroom. My wife and I fought with the school and the school board on a daily basis and finally they allowed him in a mainstream classroom with a 1 on 1 aid at all times. Well we had our parent teacher conference today and the teacher is recommending that he no longer needs a full time aid, just to have a classroom aide there to help when needed and she said he is just barely below grade level. We are very proud of him and we thank you all for your support. Some of you that emailed me about this your emails mean alot to us when we are having a hard time.

kudos wiggs to you and your wife!! It takes a special kind of person to open their hearts and homes to a "stranger" and then to turn that stranger into family.

Wiggs, I love kids, and when they are in situations were they can't thrive like other children, it pains me very much. It also amazes me all the time how bright and smart all children are. Your situation proves that, and that there aren't any lost causes. Love can do so much. Hang your head high, you have done, nd are doing a great thing.

Congrats Wiggs.
I can't imagine the work that you and your wife have done to help your soon to be child. You should feel free to brag on street corners for the work that you have accomplished.
I wish you the best of luck going forward.

My bench actually outscored my entire starting lineup with players like Willis, Booker, Carr, and the Bengals D all having career point earning days.
Where were these guys all year???
Sarge...I am still playing for pride and plan to take you down on Sunday.

Had I benched Frye and gone with 1 QB, I'd have won last week. :( All of which means....I'm gonna whoop a$$ against the one team in the league, as bad as my own...YOURS!

Sarge, Sarge, Sarge...
Here is the thing. If my team wins, wait, WHEN, my team wins, I think you should have to change your team name to the "I lost to Da Bears" for the rest of the year...

Well, a three way tie for the last playoff spot. My first round pick is looking like a bust. Figured he would be a keeper, now I don't know.

First off...
Congrats to The Fighting Seabees who took out GolfFreak's PackAttack to win the league.
A couple of things that came up during the year:
1. Waiver claims. It was noted that we should have prioritized waiver claims, and I agree with this.
2. Roster Freeze during the playoffs. I could go either way with this decision, its not huge to me. I wouldn't object to a manager replacing someone who got injured late in the year. I also would just side with the majority on this.
3. Keepers. We decided on 5 keepers, no more than 2 at any position. Someone emailed me and asked if there was going to be any restrictions on trades, with the thought being that Manager A trades a QB to Manager B for a RB before the keeper declaration. Then after a short time, they trade the 2 players back for the purpose of staying within the keeper designation. (Thought being that one team has extra QB's that they want to keep and the other has extra RB's) The thought is that there should be a one year restriction on managers reacquiring players traded prior to keeper designation. I also would just go with the majority on that.
Anyways, congrats SeaBees...and I look forward to thoughts from all managers on the above, or any other matters to enhance the league.

Re trading players....if Manager "A" trades with Manager "B", then those two managers should IMHO, be barred from trading those same players back to each other. Period. (Besides, if we saw that happening, those arent the kinds of managers I want to be in the same league with anyway, so I'd just drop out of the league entirely.)
FWIW, the Free Agency so screwed things up this past year, I'd be a favor of a total redraft along with setting the F/A rules beforehand. To see players being acquired during games, during the playoffs etc...IMHO is just plain wrong.

Replacing an injured player during the playoffs seems ok, but other than that, rosters should be frozen IMO.
I agree with # 1.
#3, I have never played in a keeper before, so I really don't have any opinion on it.

Although I agree with waivers being totally screwed up this year... I'm not sure I want to redraft considering I picked up a couple good QB's... humm... will have to think about this one.

I will be looking to trade a WR for a RB if anyone is interested. I have Roy williams, TO and Chad Johnson, I would expect a RB of the caliber of the wr you would want, meaning i would expect a better rb for TO or CJ then i would for RW.
