CRussell-You should go to a 3 hour clock, but even that will not help unless queues are left to prevent timing out.

-In some of the other leagues in which I have participated the rationales also never progressed very far. At the conclusion of the draft the managers posted an evaluation of their draft including their overall strategy, evaluation by position, prediction of their team's chances, which teams teams looked the strongest, and some other categories which escape me at this time.
Would the league have any interest in this? Participation would be at each manager's discretion. opied from the first thread:

5.11 Derrick Mason, WR, BAL

I really wanted Joe Horn here as I think he will have a much better season with a better QB. Mason dropped a bit and I'm not sure why. With McNair, not the incompetents that BAL has thrown out there the last few years, he should get to 1000 yds and 8+ TD's. Not bad for the 5th round. With no WR yet, this was a must pick.

skipping through the rationales now!

My 4 and 5:

4.08 Donovan McNabb, QB PHI

I like to get a top tier QB in round 4 but I was surprised to see so many go in round 3. McNabb was good even through his injury until he just couldnt go anymore, and I'm confident he will be back to full speed this season. He is arguably the best QB in the NFC with an offense that likes to pass the football. He also likes to spread the ball around so the loss of TO should not be as big as some people would like to think.

5.07 Tony Gonzalez TE KC

I think I have had Tony G on every fantasy team Ive had in the last 5 years. He has been surpassed last year by Gates but still managed to put up 900+ yards and is the prime target for Green in the KC passing attack. I expect good numbers here.

Here's my 5th round pick since I'm here:
5.10, Joe Horn, WR, NO

Horn was a slight gamble here but he was high on my list. I think he will rebound from the injury hampered season he had last year. Before that he was always a solid option. Hopefully he comes back and he and drew brees build some nice chemistry.

I appologize for the time out. I have 5 classes today. This is my only break during the day, and I should have left a queue, but since I had 5 classes I had 5 classes worth of homework this weekend. GAH I HATE MONDAYS. I'll try to do better for Wednesday.

I now see i am due for a rational. to be copied over.
5.14 and 6.1 Joey Galloway and Terry Glenn
I wanted to get all #1 WR for the teams that they played on, but Glenn seemed too tempting. I believe Galloway will have another 1000 yd. 8TD season and I am hoping Glenn will have similar numbers. If Parcells ODs on TO antics then Glenn will be thier #1. Also this alligns my WR bye weeks so that i have 1 on Week 3, 4, and 5. That way I only need one good backup, unless someone goes down before then. If they all stay healthy, I feel my WR position is pretty solid. We'll see...

4.09 Frank Gore, RB, SF and 5,06 Nate Burleson, WR Seattle

The Niners look to be improved in every way offensively, and that should help open some lanes for Gore. This pick was prior to the Barlow trade.

I might have been a bit early with this pick, but I predict a big year for Burleson. Jackson's health concerns could even elevate him to #1 receiver in Seattle, a pass friendly team with an accurate QB

4.03 Thomas Jones, RB, CHI
I wanted to have 2 RBs by the end of the 4th round and therefore chose Thomas thinking that he would win the starting position. Chicago should rely on the running game with Grossman as its QB.

5.02 Drew Bledsoe, QB, DAL
I thought that TO would be on his best behavior in his 1st season with a new team and that Parcells can handle any difficult player. With TO added to Dallas' receiving corp, Bledsoe, if he can stay healthy, should have a fine season. I did not factor in TO's hammy.

6.13 London Fletcher, LB, BUF
The new roster requirements place a greater emphasis on defense than in previous years necessitating an early round choice of a LB. Fletcher was at the top of my list.

7.02 Zach Thomas, LB, MIA
Same as 6.13.

6.09 Michael Vick, QB, Atl and 7.06 Chris Cooley, TE, Wash

This will be the first time Michael Vick has ever graced one of my fantasy teams. He needs a healthy Crumpler and improvement from Roddy White in order to put up decent fantasy numbers, but late in the 6th round looked like a good value pick.

Chris Cooley is just below the Gates, Heaps, Gonzos and Shockleys of the world. Very happy to see him in the 7th round.

4.14 T.J. Houshmandzadeh, WR, Cin

5.1 Jeremy Shockey, TE, NYG

With us needing 3 WR in the lineup each week, I wanted to get another top one. Had targeted Driver or Andre Johnson, but they went a few picks earlier. But I'm not dissapointed with Houshawatzit as it looks like Palmer is back and he should put up some serious numbers.

I thought Shockey was decent value here as well. With a steep dropoff after the top several TE, I thought I'd get one with only Gates off of the board. With the maturation of Manning, I expect Shockey to be targetted quite a bit in the red zone.

My 6 and 7:

6.08 Laveranues Coles, WR NYJ

A quality WR who is a prime target in an otherwise weak offense. He might not get alot of scores but he should still make alot of receptions, and I see him as a value pick here especially if Pennington is healthy.

7.07 Jeremiah Trotter, LB PHI

I wanted Zach Thomas here and thought I would get him, but when that didnt happen I went with Trotter, who should do just as well as the #1 IDP on my team.

I can tell that you did not adjust your projections for return yards based on Fricks WR #'s and Yokels DB #'s (just counting Hall and McGee). I am sure there are others who drafted returners as well. DD is a nice tool and a fun predicator, but only as accurate as the projections inputted into it. Some of the data has changed quite a bit from just a couple weeks ago as well if you haven't clicked on File/Get latest projections.

I'd certainly like to see us do the draft recaps, but I'd like to think we could finish the individual rationales for the first 5 rounds. There are a few of those still remaining.

I got a decent report from my retinologist yesterday. No diabetic retinopathy, just a few burst blood vessels in my left eye. I've certainly had worse reports. ;)

You can go in go in and modify their projection. McGee scored 164 points last year. I went in and adjusted his tackles until I got his score to roughly the same amount of points. Did the same with receiving yards for Hall to get his points around 150. He scored 154.7 last year. You don't have to adjust them at all and each time you update projections it erases your manual projections. Just something to keep in mind, though, when you start to believe those rankings.

3.05 Hines Ward, WR, PIT
I took Hines here because I thought he had the most to offer out of the remaining WR, despite his injury. I know he's a tough player and should come and perform without a problem.

4.10 Donald Driver, WR, GNB
Taking Driver in this position was a steal. He's Favre's #1 target and can put up some numbers (look at last year). While Green Bay's offense may be a piece of work this year, he should still get a good amount of catches to rack up the yards and touchdowns to make him such a steal.

5.05 Mike Bell, RB, DEN
This year I strayed from my normal RB RB strategy due to the WR available at my slots compared to the RB available. Drafting a Denver RB is usually a problem as you never know who is going to play. I'm not sure what I'm going to get out of him, but he should at least get a decent amount of touches and be the starting RB if Tatum happened to get hurt.

6.10 Ahman Green, RB, GNB
I was thin at RB and decided to go with Green to try to bolster that position. While he is hurt and getting old, I think he should be able to play for at least a good part of the year and provide me with some decent games. Hopefully I don't need him to be my #2 back, but it looks like it may be like that.

Is AOL the only option we have?
Last 3-4 times i've gone to that site it takes me about 5 minutes just for the page to load. I don't see how it will be possible come Sundays to be able to adjust lineups if the website is this bad.

Is it to late to look for a more stable, better site? I believe last year it was bad also.

I'm now on my like 6th minute just waiting for the player database to display.

Hey Bags, thanks for the tip on fleaflicker. I just set up two 18-team survivor leagues and it is the first free site that I could find that allowed me to use all of our scoring rules. Maybe I am being dense, but I have a couple of issues.

1. Claiming my 24 players through the waivers process seems exceedingly time consuming. I have never commished this software but thw add feature needs ot be on.

2. Until we have all rosters filled, we shouldnt run any waivers. Frankly, I don't know who is and is not available.

I would like to know all the times for when we need to get/have our rosters entered and when the first waivers will be run.

Thanks Russ.

I also would like to thank Russell for entering the teams.

Are lineups finalized by the first game of the week or can we change starters up until each individual game start time? I'm pretty sure they were changable last year, but that was on a different site.

Russell I sent you an email for waiver claims. I sent one by mistake to your email that is listed on the AOL FFB league. Sorry.

Ok, here are your waiver claims in order of priority:
Kyle: dropped J. McCareins
added D. Gabriel

Bags: dropped B. Berry
added G. Jennings

Slackjawed yokels:
dropped G. Jones
added B. Lloyd

All players are now free agents until 5 minutes before thursday's game. I believe players then go into the waiver process for next week. I'm not 100% certain if you can pick up free agents between thursday and sunday. I'll check with guru on that.
After this weekend the waiver priority resets based on standings and will do so every week until the 6th week when it will become static and anyone using the waiver moves to the back of the priority list.
let me know if any of that is unclear.

ok, just got info from Guru:
players who are currently free agents and DO NOT play on Thursday are available as free agents until the start of games on sunday.
You can't drop a guy who plays thursday after thursday either.

Sorry for all the posts.
The AOL site should be complete now. If you see any problems with the rules, scoring, etc. Please let me know asap.
Also, remember to get your lineups set. There is a thursday night game and you need to set your lineup for BOTH games of your double header.
Good Luck!!!!
