I suggest we give Wolfer 2 players we see fit for his team if we get to round 13 before he makes selections. Missing out on some picks is expected from timing out, but I think it's better for the league overall if we don't allow his team to get completely gimped. Timing out on the turn is pretty bad.

Good suggestion, BoNka. I agree with the idea of selecting picks for him. Timing out, actually, timing out on the turn shouldn't be that bad, because he should have 12:00 (IMO).
Who knows what has happened to him. I had to go out unexpectedly today and might have timed out in another league, except the manager before me hadn't picked either.
If we have to do it, we can take one of any number of top 200 lists and adjust for position scarcity.

He left a message yesterday at 10:49 am that we wasn't going to
work, but would be checking in. Hopefully, he'll get to work and
check in soon today.
How do we give him a player? I would not like to give him a
player someone else cherishes. The CBS Top 200 list does not
have any IDP's on it, just DEF. He has picked a DEF. In looking
at his list of players, he seems to be starting to pick IDP's...
If he does not pick by my next turn, I'll just stop and give him
time at my turn, unless someone else wants to do that.
I'll take email or thread suggestions for whom to give him at that
point. Maybe some more thread readers can make suggestions
too.
I'll be back around 10 - 11 am.

As a future suggestion, now that wolfer has made his picks, we could have a non-league player (like mjd or GURU) make those picks. Say if an entire round continues after a missed pick, we ask someone to review the applicable roster, and tell Judy by email who to select. In fact if everyone has a non-league friend to contact, it might be fairer. I am really sweating this next weekend when I will be in Oregon and probably computer free all weekend. Just a thought....

Or everyone knew coming in that there would be missed picks and we let them pick when they can. Anybody can have a computer problem, or a family emergency, or a sudden health problem, but that is the breaks.
Personally, I want everyone to have the very best roster they can draft. For my team I would want to use a substitute.
Did those people who have had missed picks so far, get people they wanted with those picks??

It's a bit tough for unplanned emergencies, but there are a couple of options if you know you'll be gone and may have spotty or no access.
A.Exchange cell #'s with a designated picker or two in your own league. I once did about 2/3s of a draft over the cell. I'm usually around and would be happy to excange #s and make your pick.
B. Get a friend or one of the "regulars" ( I'd trust virtually anyone in any of the RIFC leagues to run my draft for a couple of days) here on the forum to take your log on info and pick for you. I've done both and I sweated the other guy's picks way more than I ever have mine :-)
The way we're going tho we may be nearly done by this weekend and you could just load a buch of "sleepers" and hope for the best!

Davepyro -- do a refresh before you post (from #2 thread)
We are moving so well that we might be all but finished by the
weekend. I like Slowhand's ideas, but I think we can wait until
Thursday night to panic. AAA#2 got a really late start and what
they are doing is making everyone a DP and trying to leave Q's,
as well as texting each other and some phone calls -- but they
were in panic mode and we are not there yet.
Also, I agree that basically rounds 20-24 are fillers, who
probably won't play much except for the FG kicker. Davepyro
(or anyone else) could give a list to me (or anyone else) or set up
a big Q with instructions via email and we'll just go through it. If
it deadends, he can list positions to draft...

Judy, I should not have to refresh if I go in brand new - which I did. I think it was a glitch and not usual, but it surprised me. I did not want to appear tardy or living in past, but I am somehow. I also am glad I did not miss any directions from someone.

As I understand it, ANYONE who returns punts, kicks etc gets
yardage, but on a fumble recovery with/without TD, it is just the
points for the recovery and/or TD. No points for how far they ran.
Anyone else want to confirm?

GURU a scoring question:
I am trying to make sure that IDP can get these points (Under
Team Defense):
Here are the rules as Copy /Pasted off one of our threads:
Individual Players get the following points:
Award 6.00 points for kickoff return touchdowns in the range of
0 to 110.
- Punt Return Touchdowns
Individual Players get the following points:
Award 6.00 points for punt return touchdowns in the range of 0
to 110.
- Kickoff Return Yards
Individual Players get the following points:
Award 0.04 points for each 1 kickoff return yard.
- Punt Return Yards
Individual Players get the following points:
Award 0.10 points for each 1 punt return yard.
AOL only gives three choices:
1) Offensive player
2) Team Defense
3) Offensive Player and Team Defense.
I chose 1) offensive player, but the C/P above says "individual
player." Can you help here? Is there a difference?

I think you have the scoring set correctly. Essentially, when a
player is returning a kickoff or a punt, he is considered an
"offensive player" for that play, regardless of his position
eligibility.

Just wanted to note about my handle...the only reason I have caps in it is because it was made years ago (quite a few years ago) and that's what I did at the time. If I post without them, I won't get my nifty little donor tag. While I'd rather it just be Bonka, the system won't let me. Feel free to use lowercase though. I'm actually surprised people throw some caps in there to begin with!

sure that Davepyro's Q has what he wants in it for round #14.

I would wait until 11 pm ET. That is 3 hours past his projected
timeline for resetting his #17 pick. I have not had any contact with
him since this afternoon about special instructions (and you as DP
did not get any), so I would assume he changed the Q for #17. If I
were not here, you would have picked for him -- so go for it -- at
11:00.
Also, it is a "good pick".

until ~1:00. As it gets closer to my pick ( and guys on my Q get
picked off -- for sure), I'll send you an email with instructions
for rounds 18 and 19.
Let me know here if this is OK, otherwise I'll get another DP for
these rounds (I only want one person to do it -- less confusing.)

redid my Q and made a bunch of you my DP. Just take whatever
name appears for rounds 18 and 19, although I expect to be back
in time for 19.
there are lots of available Q's set up which is good.

Sucks, Gonzalez was my top guy there and was swooped up by my DP! Also managed to take my third guy (Spikes). Guess we must be thinking along the same lines :D
I thought for sure some more kickers would have gone by now, which is why I took Gould. Looks like I should have taken Gonzalez and then Gould.

I lost Spikes this round. Couple other IDP's of mine got picked off
too!
Some of these IDP guys I need to Google to find out what positions
they play - never heard of them!

Judy: There is a way you can enter this trade into the system so that what was Pops' 20th round pick will show up as mine instead. Don't know how easy it is to work out.

I can only go backwards one pick at a time.
what I would do is send Pops an email telling him who to pick
for you in round 20.
For playing purposes, it does not matter at all as you will add
the correct player to yoru AOL roster.

No..seriously though, i'd like to wait to see who is available at that time.
I wouldn't have drafted J. Jones yesterday had Driver not gone down. I'd like to see if anything actually breaks (maybe literally) when that pick is up.
I can let you know within minutes of my selection being up whether I would like to use the pick.
I know those aren't very favorable terms for you, so if you don't want to do the deal I understand.
Also, the guy I was going to take originally was Jacoby Jones. Footwedge, i'm in Houston, and you may have a possible STEAL on your hands.
