Today's a travel day for me, but my wingman (... cuz that's the way we've always done it) has my back.

I noticed that Grim reaper still has the Bears in the Bill Walsh. Does he want to sub out for a player?

Grim Reaper picked a bad time to bust his time limit as I wasn't able to swap out players until now -- 11 picks later. I gave him Devery Henderson -- the highest average draft position according to antsports mock drafts. Probably a lot better player than he deserved.

Great, the top rated guy in my queue. He just made his own pick and you'd think he would notice he needed to fix that. Next year I think the guys that guy an auto player need to come in here and announce who they want. No more freebees.

I agree. There is no option for me to tell the site that we don't use defenses. I think it could easily be a conflict of interest for me or anyone else to sub out a pick.

I'd love to have just the dedicated and active owners play, but some guys for whatever reason just don't care about if they draft on time or make arrangements...I know you got to work/sleep/play with the kids..just find a friend/buddy to make your pick..If you have no friends then JHHH is a buddy to everyone..he'll adopt you until the seasons over.

I agree all Shak can do is let him have the highest ranked player...sucks, if that's your guy, but I don't see it as a big deal, nobody should bust the time limit...make it a $5 dollar fine and you won't get any.

On a side note now that we're winding down their are a few players that I really wanted...some I got, and some I didn't. And don't get me wrong, I could have had some of these guys but waited a round too late. I expect all of these players to outperform their draft positions.

V. Jackson--Watch out, I was high on this kid before he scored 2 TD's this weekend.
J. Witten--Look at his numbers last year with Bledsoe as the starter and Romo as the starter...no comparison.
L. Betts--I'm convinced that Portis is garbage from here on out and Joe Gibbs loves to run the rock.
T. Bell--I think he keeps the RB job when K. Jones (PUP) gets healthy and in Mike Martz offense he'll get plenty of opportunities.
B. Marshall--"Little T.O." is a great value pick late, just have a good feeling on this one.
S. Holmes--This is my homer pick...this year he surpasses H. Ward (who I'm also a big fan of) as teh #1 WR in Pitt, and he'll be regarded as a #1 type WR going into 2008.
M. Lynch--I know everybody knows who he is but I think the piss poor pre-season is a mirage...I'm not 100% sold on him by no means, I just think that his stock is dropping in the pre-season which will increase him as a value pick in upcoming drafts.
Rex Grossman--Wanted this dude in every draft if I could, it didn't work out in either Survivor draft for me but he fell to me late in others.

I agree on Jackson, Witten, Holmes and Betts..not convinced on the others..it always depends where in the draft your willing to pull the trigger...I think everyone in this draft has a gut feeling or two about a player..The only things about JAckson is, LT and Gates will get the first look, still he has had a exceptional pre-season..the key word is pre-season..I never put any stock into any of the games

I have a small queue in the Bill Walsh. If it gets to me before noon tomorrow and doesn't autopick, then the queue is empty and I probably won't pick until around 5 PM CST when I get home from work. My queue in Iron Mike will make my next pick.

ok, guys, make fun of me for taking 2 TE's, but my 3rd RB choice would have been Turner from SD, behind LT. I figured I would get more points out of Dallas Clark than any of the remaining RB's. I only have to hope that Lamont Jordan gets points for me this year. Maybe it was a good strategy, we'll see.

Sorry Shak, but I am going to have to wish bad things on Leftwich since I picked up Garrard, hehe Seriously though, if memory serves me right Leftwich has a history of injuries, and since Quinn kept getting taken right in front of me in both leagues, I figured Garrard next best.

So cute Mario, trying to get approval for your picks. Thank god the draft is almost over so you can stop calling me in the middle of the night asking who to pick! I would rather have a couple good TE's rather then WR's for the most part, so nothing to be ashamed of, of course that did not pan out this year for me. Speaking of TE's, I have two regrets so far regarding this draft. The first is drafting Jones over Cooley in Bill Walsh. Such a mistake, I thought I was predrafting, I put jones in there and next thing you know I drafted him. I found put the hard way that if you are trying to predraft, and while you are on the predraft page it becomes your turn to draft, who ever you select wil be drafted. I already complained about that once and tried to make a change since no one drafted yet, but you know we cant do that. Take that back, that was the Cotchery pick. Ok, Im confused now, to many players and leagues. Either way, on two different occasions I tried to get Witten and Cooley, and predraft (and myself) screwed it up somehow. The second regret is passing up the second round pick in Walsh...what an idiot. Thought I was playing it safe, not seeing a huge difference between Jackson and LJ (figured Id let the #2 guy pick first so I cant blame myself for picking the one that does worse), forgot he was holding out, scared I picked up Alexander, and what happens the next day, LJ signs. And also I might want to throw in it really sucks drafting so high or so low, besides the long wait between picks, you also dont have alot of time to make your picks (if you dont want people to wait) if your predraft gets raped ahead of time and screws up your selection. Next time, unless I get a first pick (depending on the talent) I am def going to try to select between 5-12.

Aww how cute Joey trying to get sympathy from the fellas due to your erroneous picking. I wasn't trying to get approval, just letting everyone know I was ready for a good roast (hence Tom Brady in the first round a couple years ago?) My picking of two TE's was calculated based on what's left, and BTW I don't have your "middle of the night" phone number, just you gay hotline you sent me the other day to your phone, which I can't seem to throw away.....I mean....

I have an idea, rather then giving somebody a pick they didnt draft why dont you just give him someone who wont play taht no one but Mario would draft like vick or alstott, then he can make a change when/if he comes around? Its not fair to the other managers who may pay attention and had either rackers or Droughns lined up to pick. Just my thoughts man, why award someone for something they def dont deserve. (not trying to be a smart arse, just thought this was discussed before and if memory serves me right, thats how we did it the first year of the league)

What's wrong with leaving the defense in there as a space holder. They can get with the Commish through the board or the draft website for their pick when they return. No offense, but it seems there are only a couple of people holding up the draft, they know who they are...and like Joe said "that's how we did it before."
37Shak
      ID: 526391622
      Tue, Aug 28, 2007, 23:49
The problem with that is that I would have to be available 24/7 for them to tell me who they want. If I'm not around, several more picks could be made after they have submitted their pick to the commish.

Maybe we should just give everyone the commish password and let them make their own picks. Believe me, I don't like making picks for someone else and it's happened four times this year now.

There is another place we can draft at called kafenatid. It doesn't do auto picks, you just get skipped when you exceed your clock and can make your pick at any time. You can also set up queues, designate pickers (which the commish can always do picks for you too), it has a nice draft grid for each team, and sends you notice when you are up. It's the site used to draft by most leagues at rotoguru and the owner is always available if there are problems.

It costs 10 bucks and I am willing to pay this if we can agree to use it and shorten the clock to 8 hours. 12 hours is absurd, especially when people aren't logging in for a couple days at a time. We wouldn't have to start the draft so far in advance if we weren't planning on the few people who can't pick on time or set up queues. Take a look at the average draft time in the completed Iron Mike and multiple each by 10. Half the draft time was used by five teams.

What I really like about this site is that you can set the clock for individual players. So maybe we set it at 8 hours, but if you bust the clock once you go to 4 hours. Bust it again and you go to 2 hours. Either log in and check or set up queues.

Not like Cobb to disappear for this amount of time..hope everythings fine, I sent him a email, but nothing? I think the boys are right, if you bust the time limit, skip that player until he contacts someone with a player he wants, if that's 2 rounds later then so be it...I know Shak is trying to do the right thing, but giving the highest ranked player available is a copout..but I can see why the Shakmaster is using that option. The bottom line is we need dedicated owners who really give a shit, not this I can't be bothered to make a effort for whatever reason....not many legit excuses anymore...I'm in favor of weeding out the can't be bothered owners next year...

I know unplanned things happen that are out of your control, but I made plans with Cobb and JHHH that if I'm missing for more then 8 hours make my pick for me...I gave them them my password and ID to the site so thay could perform this...That's all you have to do, nobody should bust the time limit...Yeah you Cobb.

It is done! I have to hope to hell Trent Green doesn't hit his head or something, but I went with a 3rd RB Adrian Peterson, just because if Benson doesn't perform it looks as if Peterson will take more of those duties. I still think Leftwich is going down so I should have gotten Garrard in this league as well, but we'll see what happens. Good luck to everyone, and I am eagerly awaiting (Ednecks?) analysis on all the teams.

TB, I need commish responsibilities for the old Reggie White division, or if you want it, you need to load the rosters.

Everyone needs to look over your rosters on Flea Flicker and erase the Eliminated from your team name if it's there.
