I'm ready to give up on this slow draft. It's a slow draft, but it's definitely not live. Sorry if that offends anyone and it's not meant to any one in particular, just my opinion. Slowest draft I have ever seen. We will not even come close to finishing on time.

Those at the bottom of the draft order will get first crack at the WW. That may be a real advantage in a couple of weeks.

I'd rather keep my queue filled and use autopick than to have Sandbox draft everyone from the master list.
My schedules flexible, I can work with any time frame we establish (almost). My only issue is if there are any complication with my mom's eye surgery this Thursday, I won't be around for a couple of days.

Sandbox might not keep them, but out of boredom I have been keeping up with the emails when someone picks. Two people from the same town and almost 83 hours combined time for picks for four picks from one and three picks from the other? That might just be a coincidence but that's just up to now, Jesus Christ how slow did you think slow live draft meant? This is beyond ridiculous.

Let’s recap this draft so far. In the first round we started with about three weeks, six days to finish the draft before Sandbox told us what players we would have instead of us picking them (9/3?).
Round 1 This round was finished at the hypnotic pace of 55 hours and 24 minutes.
Round 2 The picks were so fast that we actually finished in record time, a furious action paced 46 hours and 8 minutes where I’m positive all of us were on pins and needles waiting for our next selection (fastest round up to this point). I know personally, it was all I could do to catch my breath from all the excitement, but my blood pressure is finally back down now again, thank God!
Round 3 Ahh!!! The pace slowed up for us old folks and we could sigh with relief from all the pressure. A leisurely 47 hours and 52 minutes.
For those who don’t care, some of us would like to pick our own players, if you didn’t have semi-regular access to a computer, why did you join this draft in the first place? Give the rest of us a break and check in more than once a day.
For all the good this will do, this is end of my half weekly rant and rave.
I hate it when I drink and get like this, but I can’t help myself.
The opinions expressed herein would be exactly the same without alcohol, just more coherent, thank you all and God bless.

I don't expect this type on conduct from a gurupie league. This is the type of poor participation is what you get when you join a public Sandbox league.
I'm embarrased to say this, but this is plain old crap. I am so pissed right now I can hardly express my anger.
I don't know who you are ATM "F to F", but I'll find out eventually and I'll never play in a fantasy league with you again.
You have no consideration for your fellow league members and that's not acceptable. That dog won't hunt.
I apologize to those gurupies who joined this league in the spirit of good and fair competition. This is not my idea of how the game is played.
I also apologize for not "screening" the people who asked to play, but I've never had to do that in the past 3 years and never thought I would.
I'm going to post emails tonight to everyone that I sent out league invitations to and I'd ask each of you to reply with your gurupie name and team name in this league. I know several of you, but I ask for your responses anyway.
There is no way to get out of a league once it's formed, the only good thing I can come up with is that it isn't a keeper league so we won't have to go through this in subsequent seasons.

pogo - yeah, but we'd have to toss the IDs. That's Ok, but I'm not giving "F to F" the satisfaction.
His actions to slow down the draft are deliberate and intentional. Waiting until he timed out and was switched to autodraft and then taking it back off auto is nothing but BS.
I'll beat his ass with a team sandbox gives me before I pack it in. I doubt if he was smart enough to prerank his players anyway so it won't do him that much good to slow everything down.
I just want to determine who's it is so I won't repeat the same mistake again in another league.
BTW - We're about to be passed by the Boardies draft that started yesterday.

I don't think White Tiger was able to get into the league. I'd sent him the email on Sunday the 12th after Purple Pimp didn't sign in by 6PM. White Tiger make a comment in a later league formation thread that he's missed out at the last minute on joining a couple of gurupie leagues.
I have my suspicions who Ron Green , but I could always be wrong and that's where further investigation is needed.
I haven't actually logged into the league in several days since I've been on autopick. I create a shortcut to the draft page and then can check the draft's status from any other sandbox ID that way. I don't believe these 2 have email addresses on the league page, but if anyone actually logs in, please confirm this it true.

I believe I've got it figured out. Our "Mike" aka "Joe" posted on the football board last year under the same ID: 38451121 and email addy: plante39@hotmail.com. He even played in a CNNSI league last season. Didn't show up for the fast live draft, but he got in the league. Species made a comment in the messague forum that he could have preranked. His team must have sucked something terrible. Gurupies vs the computer. Hahahaha :-)
He appears to have slipped a collusive team into the league. The 2 are "Favre to Freeman" and "Wow is every team name chosen". A real rocket scientist this one. The Sandbox IDs are listed as both "coaches" living in the same town in MN.
I posted this in the Rumor Mill also:
I can promise you one thing Mike aka Joe, you'll never get a trade approved between you and your buddy "Wow" since it only takes 4 votes to kill it. I PROMISE you that will happen. Your attempts at delaying the draft may work, but you'll never benefit from it.
What hacked you off, philflyboy not letting you play in his 10 team league this year or did we so soundly kick your ass in CNNSI last year you thought cheating would help you win. IT WON'T! Jerk.
I'm going to continue to follow the draft and take players as long as I can. This troll has ruined the draft experience for me, but I'm not going to give him the satisfaction of winning anything. I'll trade all my best players and create a super team before I do that. This jerk has no chance of winning anything. BTW, if anyone has their email ID listed in the league info page, I recommend not displaying it.
On to better things.
If any of you are interested in "trying it again", there are only 2 dates remaining for a slow live draft and the earliest one is next Tues Aug 28.
If there is enough interest, we'll either create a 10 or 12 team league. I'm sure species and or a couple of more trusted gurupies would join us if there is enough interest in doing it.
We'd have to average 2+ rounds a day to get through most of the draft, but it's do-able. We finished a 10 team draft earlier in 8 days (philflyboy's) and we weren't trying to hurry.
It would mean creating another ID, but if you use Yahoo, it has a free service which forward to any POP account which is pretty cool. You don't have to login to Yahoo to check it, the inbox forwards it to the email addy of your choice (not another Yahoo though).
The sad thing for me is this is the only team my wife is going to draft. She's not interested in another one, at least ATM anyway. I just wish one of the "color" guys would have spoke up that they didn't get in so I'd have know something was awry a little sooner. I've actually lost sleep over this one. Stupid me.

Roy, Don't lose sleep over a moron, this isn't your fault. I'd be interested in trying another draft with those in the league that would like to and I'm sure Fadenwalker would also, so count us in. I suppose we need to get it started quickly, though, cause it'd have to be full in four days to begin on the 28th.
Also, if your wife is planning on playing this league and this league only I'd be happy to make her a trade or two. Eddie George and Rod Smith for her 19th and 20th picks maybe?

Roy, Count me in for a "real" draft. Unless they've changed things at work since I've been off, I can access the draft there as well as home. Shouldn't be a problem getting in the rounds.
I think I've already screwed this draft up anyway when I was deciding how many players to draft at each position. Maybe not screwed up but definitely overloaded at a couple of positions.

Based on what I've read, I wouldn't have excluded him from playing anyway. I just wish Purple Pimp or White Tiger had spoke up and said they couldn't get into the league. We'd at least know there was something fishy a little sooner. Purple Pimp surprises me. He raised holy heck when he didn't get in a league last year due to access problems he had at school.

DS, I had thought about joining your league when you posted way back when. I didn't think I would be able to be around for the draft so I held off and got in on QB's.
If you are in a pinch and need another person I would like to join. I am on vacation until 29th so I can hover by acomputer until then. Well except for 16 hrs on Sun when we will be driving back from D/FW to Chicago.
If you are trying to screen the last few players my ID# changes as I am bouncing around from Parents, Inlaws, and Aunts houses.

I'm sure the Joe in the registry forum at least isn't the plante39 email person. I found his email and name on a site about Owatonna High School (some student had a site and a link showing names and emails). Seems he was a senior there last year and a hockey goalie. Don't know why someone who is a sports fan would behave like this.

I'm in for a new draft, if we don't have enough time, we could do a live draft or something. I think it only takes 5 days to complete a slow live draft. The other draft me and deepsnapper are in only took 1 day and half to complete 5 rounds.

Roy, If you haven't already opened the new division, how about playing it in cnnsi's Sandbox version. I have an id there that I haven't used yet. Also, just confirmed that Fadenwalker will play in the new one.

Sorry ksoze, I inadvertantly chopped the "M" off your "com". (oops!) I just sent it.
I'll check on CNNSI, as of Tuesday, they didn't have their game up and the "preregistration" link didn't work.
From the responses I've gotten, we'll have enough for a "real" 12 team league. I'll get the thing built tonight and the email sent.
I'm finishing 2 Exit42 drafts ATM and I may "steal" a great pick with my last pick on one coming up. Muhuhaaaaaaa. ;-)
I'm going to check out the other "Joe" links this afternoon too. The ones I'd found didn't indicate the kind of louse that'd do this to a draft, just a poor draft strategist.

If you are still around Joe, I proposed a trade to you. You don't have a starting QB and I won't have a back-up QB if you accept trade.
I only tossed in your bench kicker because you will be having to dump at least two more players if you accept trade. I suggest Jeffers be the first to go. He is out for the season. That still leaves you with one more to dump.
That's the same experience I had. "Joe" never once touched his team all year.

I do remember that AKSS. He was a dead team. My bad for having too much faith in people. I'm one of those "half full" glass guys. Maybe I should check the roundball & baseball forums. He may be Promise Stars/Cabanna Dan too. ;-)

Hey guys, I didn't find this thread until Roy's last e-mail - today. I was wondering why no one was posting in Sandbox's rumor mill. It's unfortunate that I'm stuck on the wrong side of 'Captain Vicoden to Troy Aikman Jr.', as I was really looking forward to this league. When he's up, I'll go auto from here on out. I think everyone in that league should change their name to something like "We Quit, F 2 F is playing by himself" to get the point across that the draft is basically a wash.

It's going to rip off a round when he does. If you haven't checked the 2nd email I sent yesterday, please do so. Otherwise, make sure you're queue's full as it'll empty fast.
LANman - I'm going to setup a CNNSI fast live when they get their system up. I'm shooting for the Saturday before the season starts (Sept 8). I'd be happy to do it during the week, but I'm not sure how many could participate.

I wandered into this thread from the reference in the Baseball forum, and have read all the links.
In case you guys did not notice, this bozo, in last year's league that he signed up for (which thread was linked to this one), VOLUNTEERED to bring in another team owner if you wanted.
Sounds like he might have been trying to set up this stunt LAST year, doncha think? And maybe he more-or-less abandoned his team therein when he was unable to pull off such shenanigans then?
This is not my issue or venue, but I sympathize with you guys and wish you well in dealing with such a prick. Maybe the info I offered will add some insight, if it was not noticed before.

F Gump - you're undoubtedly right. I've never been a big fan of "background checks", but that may change in the future. At least as much as is possible.
I try to accomodate anyone who asks to join in a Sandbox league on a first come - first in basis. Less animosity that way in the long run, and you get to meet some great new gurupies that way. Because I wasn't familiar with a few of the guys who signed up for this league, I didn't make the NFL league a "keeper". That's one anyway. ;-)
The only time I'll search by ID# is when someone's being a troll or the like. Then usually to find out how long they've posted in the forums. We didn't start questioning what was going on for a week after the draft started.
Heck, we've had a couple of guys time out once or twice in our keeper from last year. We're practically spread out all over the world, so that's no big deal. Stuff happens, but this jerk had a plan to begin with.
I just hope he likes the teams he drafts because he's not trading players between the 2 teams if I can help it.

Joe is a jerk.
Last year was my first experience in a sandbox league and it wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been had everyone stayed active. I might try again sometime, but I wouldn't join a league unless everyone was a regular contributor in the forum.
