This sux! I just moved and am without my new internet set-up stuff -- or a dialtone to connect it to. Using extraordinary means I have just got access to set my starting lineup. Wouldn't want to wiss Devery Henderson's 2 TDs tonight!

My draft recap is going to be very very late!

UH, What about Colston's 3 TD's?

Gotta share a little. (I had both last year.. and Copper at the end.)

Just checked my crystal ball and all it showed was a lot of tackles by Brackett. Maybe even a forced fumble or pick on passes intended for Henderson or Colston.
OK. I'm not buying it either.

I'm just glad to be off the injured list. Had surgery in Indianapolis last Thursday. Unfortunately my attempts to schedule followup to concide with the game tonight failed. Between four trips to Indy surely I can get one to work as combo game trip.

Hey judy hopefully we can get this changed but our league scoring is messed up. We are not getting decimal place scoring.

Our rules "Passing Yards
Award 1.00 point for each 25 passing yards. "

RIFC "Passing Yards
Award 0.04 point for each 1 passing yards."

Same for rushing, receiving, etc.

DH,

I know -- I just doubled checked it. I checked the correct box
for 2 place decimal scoring. I do not know why it is not doing it.
The 2 decimal places are there ready for data... I don't know why
there is no data in it yet. It should show the decimal points.

I emailed TD in the AAA league to see what it is doing over
there. Haven't heard back yet.

Our scoring is correctly set up!

As commish, I can override eny errors, but I would like to know
why it is not working.

1/25 is mathematically the same as 0.04/1, but maybe I need to
do 0.04 for 1 instead. I will fix the scoring tomorrow and do a
manual override for tonight's game. Good thing there is only
one game tonight! Phew!

Sorry about that!

Yeah most likely you need to set .04 per 1 yard otherwise it won't give points until the 25th yard. Enabling decimal probably only allows you to do things like 1.25 points per 25 yards and such.

Got a note from mjd - their AAA scoring is whole numbers also...
so it must be an AOL problem. Numbers for Colston in EITHER
system (1/25 or 0.04/1) do not match up to what AOL gave him
tonight!

Will be curious to see what it is by tomorrow am.

I fixed the passing and rushing yardage figures to 0.04/1 and
0.10/1.

I checked a few IDP's for points and they seem to be correct.

If you notice any errors in non offensive categories. let me know
ASAP by email and here too so others can see what's up.

Can you believe how BAD Brees and Co looked tonight?

OK fixed passing yards to 0.04/yard

fixed rushing and receiving to 0.10/yard.

These match RIFC Fanball league rules.

Am checking offensive player stats to find errors. Will keep you
posted... late night (good thing I am retired...)

May ask you to confirm errors tomorrow after AOL gets fixed...
watch this thread or your email -- will use both places for memos.

OK here's what I found (First # is AOL score, 2nd # is what it
should be)

Manning 23.72 23.72 (Correct!)
Wayne 22.00 22.00 (Correct!)

All the rest are incorrect and don't match up to EITHER the
correct scoring or the one I had set up incorrectly...???

Brees 2.04 2.24
Colston 4.0 4.7
Addai 19.6 20.1
Harrison 14.3 14.0
Deuce 3.8 4.5
Reggie B 3.8 4.7
Clark 5.40 6.2
Henderson 3.50 3.90

I will keep you posted!

I just looked up the scoring and the AOL scores seem to correspond to what you have in the right column in post 10. They all look correct to me. Some seem to be off by a yard or so but I am sure that is attrubuted to stats not being official yet. The problem seems to be fixed now.
13judy

I doubled checked all the scoring and it is accurate now except
for the punt return yardage for Bush. It is listed in his stats, but
not reflected in his points. He should have 0.2 more points.
The scoring is not final until Tuesday am and hopefully AOL will
fix this by then. If not, I can override.

The return yardage scoring is correct in our AOL set up. We
shall see how other returners get credited. I have Hester, so you
KNOW I am invested in the correct scoring (KOR = 0.04/yd; PR =
0.1/yd)!

Am I glad this game happened and there was only a small
number of players to check up on...Also, it did get fixed, but it
was a bit worrisome.

I do like the new live scoring "look". It is so much easier to flip
among games now.

FYI --

I have been sending reminders to POPS to pick up a DL and set his
lineup for Sunday. If he has not done so by Saturday at ~10 pm, I
will pick up (the AOL top ranked) DL for him (Vick is currently the
placeholder) and set a lineup so that you will have an opponent.
He has a pretty strong team.

Hopefully, POPS will check into AOL and set it himself.

E'ville -- go to the rules section. But basically you can claim a
FA beginning Tuesday at noon until Weds at noon. Claims are
automatically awarded by Weds at 1:00 and after that you can
just pick off free agents. Dropped players go to the waiver wire
for 48 hours and you can lay waiver claim to them after 1:00
Weds. The order is worst to first and if you get a player you go
to the bottom.

I think the claim option is under transactions and activates
Tuesday at noon. Study it carefully, it is a little tricky...

have points.

This game is soooooo boring. Too many long and bad ads and not
enough Eagles excitement. TO was a pain in the a**, but at least
the games were exciting... Are D's receivers covered, slow, fallling
down, not in the game or what?

Avant and Reggie at 0.8 each. The others need to step up BIG time.

Psychos and JackHammer -- you guys are close! We'll see what
the final stats bring!

Toral and Swing are close, but Toral still has one guy for
Monday.

Weykool, I am hoping for a good game from Brees -- I've got
Colston. The Saints need to snap out of it soon -- maybe like
the Eagles did?? That WAS a FUN game to watch - but those
retro uniforms were just plain awfully ugly.

Amost everyone else is finished.

I still have two guys for Monday, so I think I am OK. Might have
the highest score too -- a dethrone of Pops! My two guys
(Colston and Bullock) shouldn't interact/meet on the field too
often so I can root for each one for their points.

Didn't Chicago look awful tonight (Offense and defense and
Hester)?

I'll bet SD is rueing the loss of Schottemheimer...they look lost.

67 judy The radio guys are saying the feeling is like that of the 2-14 year. Anybody want to play cornerback? The Bills are right out of them. And what did you do to Ron Brown?

I made a dumb mistake this week -- picking up Tampa Bay D to avoid having the Seahawks facing Seattle. That would have netted me a few points --but apparently I never put them in my starting lineup. (Though I did) I would have gained 7 points on the exchange but it looks like it won't matter.

weykool re #41

Donovan and Westbrook got me 70.04 this week. Too bad they
stank it up last week! That total from those two woulda won me
both games!

What will the future hold for them? Being the Iggles, no one
knows... but I do think they are on the right track now. Their
bye is week 5, so they should be able to rest up Westbrook. I
expect him to play this week -- no broken ribs, just sore ones.
We need him desperately. Dawk and Lito should be back by
week 6 as well.

Now attention turns FULL TIME to the PHILLIES. Last week of the
season -- best bet is a wild card -- they are 1/2 out, with a rest
today which they really need. They have 3 w/ ATL and 3 v WASH
and CB PARK will be ROCKING!

Tied with SD for wins, one down in the loss column. SD plays
tonight @ SF. SD has 3 @ SF and 4 @ MIL.

Colorado one back of Phils. Rockies have 3 @ LAD, 3 v AZ. The
west is really tight.

D'backs (up 3 in wins) have 3 @ PIT and 3 @ COL.

I'll bet it comes down to the last Sunday to decide it all --unless,

If anyone is thinking of a trade possibility, here are the GURU
rules on in season trading:

After the draft, trades will be subject to a review period. For the
first 24 hours following a trade, managers may protest a trade
by posting a message at the RotoGuru forum (ie., this thread) ,
or by sending an email to the Commissioner. If at least 3
managers protest a trade within 24 hours of its announcement,
then all managers will be polled within the next 24 hours. If
seven or more managers vote to veto a trade, then it will not be
approved. If a proposed trade is announced less than 24 hours
before the earliest freeze for any player involved, then the entire
trade will not be processed until the following week.

If a trade does not receive at least 3 protests, then it will be
effective 24 hours after it is announced. If a trade receives at
least 3 protests but the protests are not upheld in a full league
vote, then the trade will be processed 48 hours after it is
announced.

Managers should directly contact the other manager to "discuss"
the trade via (private) email. When they agree, it gets posted
here. although I will also send an email to everyone, as I cannot
tell if everyone is looking at the thread on a regular basis.

I would be interested in any trades. This league is totally different than anything I have ever played. It will take all season to fix my team. I have no depth and need to replace Ahman Green.
Does anyone know why Kevin Williams had no defensive stats this week?? I got 1 win this week but only by 0.60 points with 6 minutes left on MNF. I do not like live scoring.

Davepyro -- I hope your 0.60 holds up. Final scoring is official on
Tuesday am. Who is Kevin Williams? Maybe he was injured??

I understand where you are coming from with your team. I had to
rebuild mine each week last year! I just took a look at your team --
it is not that bad -- you have some good guys who just had a bad
day and you still won! Your bench had 60+ points. You'll be fine
-- you just gotta pick the right guys to play!

I LOVE live scoring!

Williams does not show up in injury lists or Roto wire at all. They have made no lineup or depth changes. He gets on my team and lays a zero. Thank-you very much. Did anyone watch the Minn game??
So far it seems like I am playing one of the top scorers every week. Yes Judy I need to work on my starting lineup, but some of us have other committments like fishing. No I have been skunked. I noticed you did not say my team was that good either. I thought I drafted very well, but reality really hurts. Oh well you guys can enjoy at least one easy win every week. I will still be here sinking deeper and deeper and bye now.

davepyro No need to despair. When I read your post I thought you must be in last place with every one of your skill players injured.

You're 2-4. You have indeed had either bad luck or a rotten schedule (I haven't checked which); way more points have been scored against you than against any other team.

Under RIFC rules IIRC the top 6 teams by the usual win calculation method make it to the playoffs, plus the 2 teams with the next highest number of points. You're all of 36 points out of the playoffs as of the moment. That's nothing.

Alex Smith has been a disappointment but may get better. Lee Evans has been a disaster, but there's a good chance that Losman will be back and that the Bills will find a way to get the ball to him later in the year. Maybe even in weeks 14-16, when it would be useful.

Git yourself a TE for this week; you're still in the game.

Thanks Toral and BoNkA, but does my Points against of 921 get me any prizes?? I did not intend to sound like sour grapes and this trip has really been a kick so far. I really did not know I was that close in points. I suppose if you are gonna play the high scorers, you might as well get that over with early in season. It is obvious to me that not only are there some superior managers in this league, but also some very high quality people. Thanks for the kind words, and GOOD LUCK unless I am playing you. Then you will not need it.

Hi to all,

Lots of claims this week as we remake our rosters for better
results. Only Team 13, Fightin Joe and Slow did not do claims.
A bunch of us did a bunch. And there are still FA pick ups
ongoing! Lots of crucial and devastating injuries this season
and it is still early.

I managed to get the two guys I really wanted (Claims A and B),
but you guys took ALL the others I had hoped would be available
in free agency. We must be reading the same cheat sheets!

Dave, Dave Dave, I meant no harm with my comments and I see
that others have come to your rescue as well. It is a long
season, there is a heck of a lot of luck involved and, well, it's not
for money -- just pride!

That said, if any of you guys are the praying type, my 92 year
old Dad goes in Friday for colon cancer surgery, so if you have
any leanings that way, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Judy Judy Judy; (that sounds familiar) I did not take any harm from your comments. I was agreeing with the sorry state of my team.

I am not really sure as TE are lousy point getters anyway, so why
would you want to start two of them (and 2 WR) instead of 3 WR
and 1 TE?

It does give some flexibility to the bye week, but so few carry the
extra TE that I cannot see it really coming into play that often.

Hmm, the flex IDP's were there last year as well.

Also, Dad seems to be doing well -- they are getting him
breathing on his own -- hopefully today.

My big question is for Westbrook -- will he or won't he and he
has the 8 pm game so they might not decide until then and my
other RB options all play at 1:00. With the bye week coming up
and the Giants fairly beatable, they might want to rest him -- or
with the bye week coming up they might use him knowing he
has two weeks to get better...

Decisions, decisions, decsions...

85 judy Indeed an impressive number of claims this week. Not even counting any multiple claims of players not allowed!

I wonder how our # of claims could compare against those in the 'superior' leagues. I suspect we would do very well in terms of league interest.

Maybe you could ask Guru about this. It wouldn't surprise me if he, or someone else, started to record # of claims per league per week in RIFC Major/AAA/AA as an indicator of general interest of activity and interest.

Course I could ask Guru myself.

But you're the Commish. That's why we pay you the big bucks. :)

I think Westbrook will start and see what he can do, the later
start might help with recovery, although muscles take a long
time to cooperate in their healing process. My FFBall
scoring dilemma is that I started Toomer in one matchup and I
HATE it when one of my RustyStone players plays the EAGLES.
However, FFBall aside, I always prefer an EAGLES win!

Today, however, my heart and soul are with the PHILLIES. I lived
through 1964 and remember it vividly... I also still have the
scoring sheets -- on yellow legal paper -- for every at bat for
the 1980 LCS and World Series, as well as the poster of the 1980
team... I'll be watching the game with my Dad who is doing
really well.

I am rooting for a 4 way tie so I guess that means I am rooting the Phillies win. In more important baseball news today is the last Braves game being broadcast on TBS. 30 years ago they became "America's team" when they became the first team to be broadcast nationally on tv. Nowadays with 4 to 5 national broadcasts a week on other channels and the ability to order almost every game in the league on Satellite, extra inning package, and the internet, TBS decided they didn't need the Braves anymore. It's a sad day for all us baseball fans that grew up with Skip, Pete, Ernie, etc.

Psychoes has a tough team with Romo, Addai, Plax and Roy Williams, but it looks like I will be abe to pull it off and go to 6-2... if anyone is having trouble at RB I have Julius Jones and Landel White for sell... they are both getting regular carries on good teams and are fine RB2 options... I think I saw that they batted .178 for the series. Howard took 3

It's lovely how you can start off strong at 4-0 then all of a sudden the wheels fall off between bad performances and unlucky matchups and you end up 4-6.

Figures, looks like I'm #3 or 4 in points this week and I play the top 2 teams. I need a few strong weeks here to pull it back together.

Shouldn't all players dropped before Sunday's games be included in the claim period the following week? There were players dropped before the games on Sunday who are not appearing on the site available for a claim. Rather they are listed on the waiver wire where you cannot currently set a claim.
