Who’s in trouble (part 1)

Bill Walsh

Midget Mauler (6th) – J Campbell and S Moss on byes. Rhodes out, Westbrook questionable. As for the players that will be playing, Leinart and Boldin have a tough match up with the Steelers. Leinart must also fight off Warner. Lynch should do well vs. the Jets, but to be safe, MM needs some AZ love.

TrashHaulers (9th) – Only Vince is on a bye. The Trashman has serious injury concerns with Chad, Rudi, and DJ. Marvin faces a tough matchup against Champ. Should get points from Marion and Joey, but Trashman may need points from part time scorers Hester and Jurevicius to stay alive.

Tribe (15th) – The lowest ranked team still alive has some serious concerns this week. Portis is on a bye, Delhomme, Williamson, and Calvin Johnson are probably out. That leaves behind Hasselbeck and Thomas Jones to carry this team.

Steve (9th) – I’ll list Steve here just because that’s the way we’ve always done it. Steve has the proverbial one-man team. This team will go as far as Brady can carry them. Bush, who could turn out to be a monster now that Deuce is done, is on a bye. He’ll have to scare up some RB points between the infamous GB RB duo of Jackson and Morency. The WR points will come from Chambers and maybe Battle. Since Brady faces Cinci, Steve should live to see another day.

Head – Tribe, he low man on totem poll.
Heart – MM, 6th ranked team is reeling a bit.
Gut – Tribe, I have a feeling it’s time for the Tribe to pull pitch.

Part II
Iron Mike Ditka

STB (3rd) – the third ranked team is making an appearance here based primarily on injuries. Portis is on a bye, but the injury concerns are with Westbrook, Hines Ward, and Kennison. I think Ahman and Isaac are also a little banged up. We’ll see how good STB’s medical staff is this week.

GCobb (9th) – Gcobb is another victim of the injury bug. He has four players that could miss the week due to injuries: Calvin, Andre, Vernon, and Scobee. Add on a Bush bye and this team is in trouble. That leaves a few goose eggs and Favre and TO to do all the heavy lifting this week.

Spiderpig (10th) – Steve is our first repeat customer and it’s not just because he takes my money on the golf course. He does have some issues. His injuries include the very expensive #2 pick in the draft (SJ) and Losman. Fragile Freddy and Bironas are taking the week off and Rhodes is half way thru his vacation. That leaves Leinart (vs. Steelers) and the formidable TE duo of Gates and Witten to take this team to the promise land of week 5.

Head – Should be a (lame) dog fight between GCobb and Spiderpig.
Heart – STB, the heart always sides with the highest ranking team not named Shak.
Gut – Spiderpig will be cheering for Sammy Morris to save this team on MNF – don’t think so.

Here's a different take on the Okla St coach's tirade last Saturday.

Mike Gundy Outburst

Yes, it's been a slow week at work.

Evidently a slow week on the board too. Is the excitement starting to wane? Must be the MLB playoff hunt or women's soccer thing.

Just got back from Tampa wednesday, and yes the phils have taken my mind off this for a couple days, been to the last two games and they were victories I Might add! To make you feel better, I Had a nightmare/dream that BSB protested his lost and pointed out that I actually had the lowest score in week 2 and said I should get the boot. Bitter Loser huh! Not sure how that was relevent since he was booted in week 3, but thats how dreams works. I then stated that you have up until the following saturday, or day before the next weeks first game starts to protest a mistakes in scoring...that is how the rules are, correct? So in closing, I havent forgot about you guys, survivor is in my dreams!

First of all, I took them down to a Kentucky Farm house and they were named Mary Loo and Peggy Sue..Joe your scaring me Bud...You better keep them dreams to yourself!!

A lot of big names out this week, Rudi, Jackson, Boldin?, Delhomme, Grossman, MCallister. Not sure of any others but with byes and numerous people out this should be a scary and unperdictable week for quite a few teams.

Scotty, I'm always worried until I get a couple 20 point performances that week and then I can relax a little, until then it's a "Please don't let me go before Joe praying session".

You and me both Scotty. I need to get through this week and i think i can survive a couple more at least after that. But who knows with this season.
On another note, whats up wth uset Saturday. Yesterday was a bear for college football. We are about to see teams in the top 15 that you would never think.

Good luck this weekend boys.

It's definitely a crazy College football season so far. My Kentucky Wildcats in the top Ten, now that is just stupid. I think LSU and USC will be the teams to beat in the end. A few more surprises are in store that's for sure. Texas, OKla and Florida lose, i guess K-state has the Longhorns number, but Colorado beating a high powered Sooners team, it goes to show that the quality of players joining the smaller not so highly rated programs is getting better and better...

This was some of my predictions right at the end of the draft, and how those predictions look a 1/4 of the way into the season.

On a side note now that we're winding down their are a few players that I really wanted...some I got, and some I didn't. And don't get me wrong, I could have had some of these guys but waited a round too late. I expect all of these players to outperform their draft positions.

V. Jackson--Watch out, I was high on this kid before he scored 2 TD's this weekend.
**Further review shows that he has outperformed the position he was drafted in.
J. Witten--Look at his numbers last year with Bledsoe as the starter and Romo as the starter...no comparison.
**Witten has been very good, I still wish I had him.
L. Betts--I'm convinced that Portis is garbage from here on out and Joe Gibbs loves to run the rock.
**Portis HAS NOT been garbage, missed on this one thus far.
T. Bell--I think he keeps the RB job when K. Jones (PUP) gets healthy and in Mike Martz offense he'll get plenty of opportunities.
***K. Jones was not put on the PUP list, Bell has been "ok", nothing like I expected.
B. Marshall--"Little T.O." is a great value pick late, just have a good feeling on this one.
**Still love this dude, he just caught another TD. Way outperforming position drafted.
S. Holmes--This is my homer pick...this year he surpasses H. Ward (who I'm also a big fan of) as teh #1 WR in Pitt, and he'll be regarded as a #1 type WR going into 2008.
**Another TD today, I still like him and he's doing good.
M. Lynch--I know everybody knows who he is but I think the piss poor pre-season is a mirage...I'm not 100% sold on him by no means, I just think that his stock is dropping in the pre-season which will increase him as a value pick in upcoming drafts.
**Not a disaster, playing better than most thought but the Bills stink.
Rex Grossman--Wanted this dude in every draft if I could, it didn't work out in either Survivor draft for me but he fell to me late in others.
**Oopsie, swing and a miss! Rexie is horrendous.

5 Players out for this week too much to overcome. Westbrook inactive for the day ends my run in the Iron Mike league. Although with Westbrook being ruled out I may have a chance to win in Last Man Standing.

I hate fantasy sports... lol

Yes it was Scotty

I guess it isn't so bad when people say "you can't win em all". Right now I am hearing "you can't win any"... 0-3 in reality, out of 1 league in survivor and probably 0-4 in my weekly/keeper leagues!

I hope next week is better, one thing for certain it can't get any worse.

Little off topic but just got back from the Phillies game a couple hours ago along with BSB. Greatest game I have ever been attended. We also went to the 10,000 loss game, two opposite sides of the spectrum huh?

Havent checked fleaflicker yet today, going to now, maybe I will find something football related to write about...

anyone there? Ok, well, I am against the whole TE slot thing and

I see couch has been suspended for steroid use. For 6 games. Wasnt Shawne Merriman suspended four games for the same offense. Does that make sense to anyone else, star treatment since couch is garbage, or is there something I am missing?

Cubs and Philly's better get their S^%t straight Joe, otherwise we won't be able to slam each other in the next round of the playoffs

Yeah, I was just happy that you guys are 0-2 as well. I think we will be ok, they are just doing what the phils do this year. What do you think about your manager yanking your ace? This is now a baseball board! No one else is using it...

Its being a pretty slow week on here. I was waiting for the new board to pop up but guess nobody started it.
My Yanks are struggling and looks like AROD will have to wait a little longer for that week. I dont think he will ever get that ring. NO matter where he goes they always choke it up.

I'm here Joey, just nothing interesting to talk about except the Bugs ruining the Yankees night...Havn't seen something that bad in a ballgame before. AROD, great during the season and really chokes it up in the playoffs, he must feel the pressure.

Yeah, pulling Big Z was uncharacteristic for big Lou, he only had 85 pitches, and could have gone another inning at least. Looks like tonight will be the last game for my beloved Cubbies, but it was a good run, what do we say? "Wait till next year!"
