Draft Recap
Thought I'd better repost this over here:
If anyone is interested in doing a fast live draft, Peter N and I are in a CBS Commish.com draft on Sat. Sept 8. It's a private league of 12 that redrafts each year. There are 2-3 openings for this season and if anyone's interested, I'll pass your email addy along to the commish.
The Commish, Kevin Gordon, runs a pretty slick league. He publishes a newsletter each week and you can talk smack to each other (and maybe back it up). Just let me know pretty soon as he's offered the open slots to our Exit42 league members and they may get taken fairly quickly.

Well I fugured I had better try and get the best possible for TE an K.... Sharpe was a no brainer but the Kickers is really hard to choose... But thanks to my bro I have Jani (I was waffling and he said pick him now!! lol)
Every Sandbox draft I have been in (Slow Live) I rack up the long distance charges, it is fun going through it with him and then going over the picks and teams in the league.
For having the 11th pick I think I am doing better than I thought I would... by the way it is good to see us so diligent, as I was on the phone we made 6 picks and now we are almost half way through the 6th round... Have we passed your other league yet deepsnapper?

J - Have you bookmarked the draft page? It allows you to check in from any sandbox ID.
You need to right click on the draft page link from the Home page and click the "open in new window", then bookmark it. The URL has a lot of numbers (league info and such). Works great.
You can do the same thing to the transaction log or any sandbox page for that matter.

I've been gone all day (hence 2 kickers ;) and am about to get some sleep before an early departure for 10 days with my toes in this side of the Atlantic with wife & small ones.
Am about to stock up my queue but after that I'm in the lap of my master list which I think I filleted of those who were at very least deceased (otherwise watch out for the return of Y.A. Tittle!)
This draft has been hugely enjoyable despite my appalling ignorance of football and I'm really looking forward to the competition ahead.
So until I'm back, good luck to all and wish me at least reasonable weather - an Irish summer, there's a contradiction in terms!

J - it's a "view" only unless you're logged in on that ID, then you can do anything, you just lose the left frame.
I use it to "peek" at the status of the draft in progress from another ID. It won't display the other ID's draft queue, which is cool for sharing the draft process with someone else. You can even click the links and "view" the Rumor Mill, Master or Sorted player list (who's available) and draft by round, team, etc.
I bookmark my "team" page that way and can do a quick check of them all w/o logging in. (Pitcher rotations and if bye week changes RM are needed).

Mine are running about 4-6 hours behind the actual draft selection. I've quit looking at them and just "peek" at the queue. Probably a large load on their mail server right now. ;-)
We've now doubled in 4 days the number of picks that the NFL draft's made in 11. It's stuck on the cheater at selection 5.10

Question about the draft queue. If I am drafting for a position of need and have say 3 players from the same position at the top will the computer take the top three if they are there? Example I need a DB, I have 3 at the top of my queue but only preranked 1 DB for my team. Will the computer take 1 or 3 DB's? Or will the computer take the next player on my queue that I need to fill a slot for from the open spots on my team?
Does this make any sense? Thanks for any help.

Bags, the computer takes your predraft team slots and your que into consideration.. In your example, you would get a DB the first pick, but next time around if a DB is still at the top of the que you would get the next person below him that falls under your predraft slot choices.

Bags - Always make sure you've got the athlete you want to select in the "Draft" position at the top of the queue. That's the first one which will be selected if you've got an open draft card slot. Sandbox (Autodraft) fills the open draft card slots from your queue before using the master list. No open slots, then it picks an athlete for a RP that has one (checking your draft queue first of course).
Also, there's an open spot in the 12 team slow live starting Monday. If you're still interested, I'll email you the details.
You'll have to create a new Sandbox ID using a different email address or "pay" the money for a 2nd team. I'm a cheapscate, and prefer to use Yahoo email for a 2nd addy instead of the pay option (it forward incoming mail to a POP box for free).
The thing to remember when having multiple IDs is you have to kill all open windows of the browser and launch a new copy in order to switch between Sandbox IDs. If you already knew all this, I apologize for rambling.

Bags, you can also open up a copy of another browser to access the other team. For example, most of my teams I access through Netscape (my everyday browser). In order to get to my other Sandbox team, I open up Internet Explorer and log in with the second team ID.
