I'm sure we can at least get the ball rolling on the draft..I don't see a timer at the draft site?

JHHH up in DG
STB up in AM

Make those pre-drafts if at all possible...

Shak did we have a start time today. I must have missed something?

If you don't have a invite to the draft site (Myfantasyleague.com)then you better get with the program and Shak will sent another one to you.

You can follow the draft my clicking:
Reports-league-draft, this will show you the draft picks and who has predrafted.

To Draft select: For Owners-draft and make your pick..

That was just for you clowns who have short-term memory..

Jim I know JHHH and me finished 1 and 2 in one league last year, made jons year I'm sure, can't remember the other one. Jim we've been doing this for 4 years or so and I think the only repeat winner was STB...I've won one of the leagues, Superclyde, Trash, Shak were others can't remember the rest. Joe will spout some shite about combined winner, but ignore that please, he's never finished 1st in any league:-)!

I think Gary has had some good teams, but lacks that finishing quality.Good luck it's a tough one to win

Thanks. I expect to be in for a rough time this year. Drafting in an 18 team league is going to be rough.

Yep, the 18 team aspect makes it really tough. Plus, only having 10 players adds to the challenge. This is BY FAR the toughest league I've ever played in and it's very hard to know if you've drafted well. I've had teams I thought were really good that got bounced in the first week and teams I thought were really bad that lasted awhile.

One thing I know for sure...you're gonna love it!

Hey fellas,

Was without power last night because of Tropical storm. Anyhow, I have the #1 pick in Art Monk, anyone interested in acquiring the #1 pick? Make me an offer. I will give it a few minutes to see and then make the pick if nobody makes me a decent offer.

Shak must have put them in wrong. Shak you put SC at#15 instead of joe in the DG. SC is 17 and Chitown is 16. I don't have commish rights, it's on Shak to make that change.

Jimbo goes against form and takes Barber..very ballsy, but you got to love Barbers style.

Stephen Jackson drops down past 7? probably was worth dropping down as after LT and AP it's all about what you like from 3-8. I'm happy with Westbrook and his 90 catches, helps when the running game gets shut down.

Jimbo likes the fiery guys. Barber is a beast and you have to like the Dallas offense. Nice pick.

Westbrook gets it done every game one way or the other. Another nice pick.

No worries on holding off on my 14th pick. I'll sit tight in that one until Shak sorts it out.

Jim it was a terrible pick....Gary is just biased. Just kidding, like I said this draft is a little different and you won't see it go to form, you take guys who stay healthy, consistent and keep you alive, it's no good getting 30 points one week and 2 the next, you would rather have a guy who gets 10-20 each and every week.

Tom Brady for Gary? I guess he does score more points then anyone, probably could have gotten him a few picks later, should have dropped to #5-7 and chanced he was still there. Tom brady will never be a bad pick anywhere, so no argument from me. RB's may be thin on your next pick1

Hey Guys,
I pre-drafted my 2nd round pick in AM, but I leave at 13:00 EST to fly to Vegas on business (hehe, tough job), I won't be back online until around 22:30ish EST. Just in case my pre-draft picks get picked before it gets to me.

Edneck -- You're right, it would've been better to grab Brady in the 5-7 range. I would've done that except most of those draft slots were already taken when it was my time to pick a spot.

Bottom line: If he performs anywhere close to last year it was worth the pick. If he tails off to the low-30 TD range, not so much, cause guys like that will be available at #35 when I pick next.

If LT had dropped to #2 he would've been my pick. Even though I love AP as a player (even if he is a traitor), he's been hurt every year he's played football since his Jr. year in HS. He just runs too hard, too physical, and too upright. Takes more shots than necessary and they aren't always with him delivering the blow (unlike Marion Barber).

I just have to hope Brady isn't really hurt and hasn't found another supermodel to sire more children. He needs to focus on what's important in life...putting up points for my team!

Brady is consistant and rarely makes mistakes. If he has a season even close to last year, you're set.

no chatter on here. Looks like Ednecks is turning WRP in Monk. STB may have forgotten, or he is hoping to get immunity points in week 3 due to the fact that both his first two picks have byes week four. Dont forget about the trading deadline Tim. Boner is facing the same problem week 8. I love this game! Monkey man loves that name (he told me)

I'll add some chatter....

What the heck was STB doing in the Art Monk??? He completely jacked my 3rd round pick by taking both Witten and Winslow. I pre-loaded both and went to work. Never thought he'd take both. So, when bitching about the 7 hr delay on my pick, blame him. :)

Joe I may take all WR's and a kicker and QB. Playing it safe in the DG, just looking to get solid with Westbrook, Graham and Holt. Plus I was looking at a TE there also, but STB does like his TE's, they don't score as much over the whole season, but Witten and Winslow will get you 10+ points most weeks. I'll admit in the Art Monk I was looking at Romo or Owens @18, after that I wasn't in Love with any of the RB's.

I can live with Edwards and Fitz if they play like last year, if not I'll struggle. Just having a little fun with this lineup.

I see McFadden goes a little early as I expected, risk and reward I guess. JHHH is RBP this year, LT, Jones and Turner may be tough all year, good drafting!!

Joe first off the rock....a oldy but goody!! Plus he loves the attention.

so, after the 12 hours are up, have we decided whether to skip the turn or just draft the best pick for them? Did we vote about this last year? IM all for skipping (still, its the conservative in me). Why give someone a good player if they cant find the time to check the site in 12 hours?

I agree, the predraft aspect should eliminate someone breaking the 12 hours..don't use it and pay the price. Lets just hope he's OK and "Whats that Lassie?, Jimmys fallen down a Well" I really don't care If Shak wants to make his pick, it doesn't bother me..

Jon, the sad thing is, a few of these guys couldn't set up a list long enough to predraft, so they just make you wait and then when they have to wait, bitch up a storm. The respectful guy will predraft before going to work or class and the ones that don't give a shit about anybody but themselves make you wait for whatever reason..Double standards. It hasn't been terrible this year, but it still sucks when you put the effort forward and the other guy just pisses on your cornflakes!!

No, it's not a mandatory scoring position, they will be treated as a Flex postion, but their scoring is just a little different, 1 point per catch and bonus at 75 or 80+ yards I think.

Two things. Make that three things. Ednecks, yes, I do live for you. I will mirror your picks the rest of the way. Next year I will pick the team you have this year. I also often dream of a perfect world where you and I are together, forever. I want you to be my wing man!

JHHHHHHH, your situation sucks with the two QB's. Trade one of them. Preferably to a FNG (or monkey man) that is not familiar with this league. Sucks that someone that predrafts gets screwed ( BTW, sorry it took me so long in Green, Im usually a minute man;)

And this brings me to my next point, one that was brought up last year, and I really don’t know why there was no change. Why does someone that has their time expire get the highest pick? Why compensation someone that is so lazy they cant draft on time, in a 12 hour period, or predraft. I went all out on this point last year, wrote a lot about it, and don’t care to repeat myself. Like my boi Obama says, we need change! SKIP THEM! When they wake up, are finished with the delivery of their child, or are sober, they can pick then, hangover and all (remember Brady;)

Thanks guys

Perception and reality, what looks good on paper is sometimes not the way it happens, I do think if you didn't get at least a decent 2nd starting QB you may struggle off and on all year.

I'm happy with most of what I got, just need Rudi to start somewhere and I'll be fine. Since I have no RB in the AM, it may come back to haunt me...we'll see.

Next year I think if you miss your turn and the clock expires, you don't get to pick a player until the draft is over, because this is getting stupid!

If Tim Dahl can draft on time, then Buddy has no excuse, Not sure what's up with GR and whomever.

Sorry you got to wait Jimbo, I guess we have plenty of time and since I'm mainly the only one complaining, it must not be a problem with the other, so I'll shutup now.

Ednecks, I submitted my draft pick in Art MOnk this morning and thought it took...but I guess it did not. My bad, I should had verified. I'm all about doing a live draft. I have leagues with people from all over the world and it is not an issue. If you can't make the draft...don't join the league. Thats all.

GR I'm not thinking about myself, I think it's unfair to the rest.."I thought my predraft took doesn't wash with me Bud". Your right a live draft is better, Duh..you got 12 hours and a predraft to make sure you keep the draft rolling, it's not rocket science. I know it's just not you...I'm not bothered anymore.

The ACC is a little softer then the SEC for sure, might have more speed and talent, but getting knocked on your ass a number of times is the equalizer. Alabama is not even in the top five teams in the conferance. It's early and Clemson will play a little better in the second half.

Well, this is exactly what I was worried about. Clemson had all the speed and talent EXCEPT for the line. Unless you make big plays, defense wins. Alabama owns both lines in this game.

JHHH is at less then a minute on his draft picks
and like Millionaire McDuck, he spends 12 hours a day in his private vault counting his cash!!

No excuses fellows...My dog ate my homework didn't even work in grade school. Top 10 reasons I broke the 12 hour time limit

1. Lightening storm took out the power in the whole state and I lived by candlelight for 2 weeks
2. The dog ate the mouse and pissed on my keyboard and shorted the thing out.
3. I was out deer hunting and was lost in the forest for 2 days without water or food.
4. Everyones favorite, "I set the predraft, but all my players were taken" ridiculous!!
5. I'm at the academy licking more ass then a Monkey on crack.
6. Edneck is picking on me and I couldn;t draft for 24 hours due to my high blood pressure
7. The Sun was setting in Uranus and while folowing the North star on a full moon I was lost at sea.
8. The most True " My wife bitch slapped me and the computer was off limits for 24 hours until she got a little me time.
9. I is stupid!!!

I admited my fault and I'm truly sorry I held up the league. I didn't use it as an excuse...just stating the facts. Ahh the love. I am with Jon, if you can't predraft and get screwed like we did, you suck!!

My two QB strategy, or predraft screwup, is going to hurt. I could almost be happy, but I got a terrible pick for it, someone I wouldn't draft in the first place!!

I will move on though. Yes, this draft is getting ridiculous with people not predrafting. I know we are all busy, but even if you put a top three list together and set it, there is a chance it might get through and keep it moving.

I do see a few faults with Ednecks list.

1. All states are bordered by another state. Well Hawaii and Alaska aren't, but you should be doing other things rather than playing a silly game in those locations. No excuse.
2. The dog excuse isn't logical with spare computer that should always be in place for such occasions, no excuse.
3. Deer hunting and lost?? Ever heard of wireless?? No excuse.
4. Trust but verify, save and close. No excuse
5. Ah, school...teachers, lessons...woodsharking...PICK!! No excuse.
6. Ednecks picks on everyone. Find the 10 minutes a day he isn't online and post your pick then and take your medicine. No excuse.
7. Again...Wireless?? No excuse.
8. Tell you wife you are in charge and pay the bills...then spend the next month with the computer all to yourself. Well, except for the swelling on your left eye and the papers in the mail from her laywer. No excuse.
9. Yes you are Ed. No excuse.
And finally.. 10. As we all know, Joe belongs to MANY $100 websites, some are even football related, to tell him who to pick. Not all of them can be down at once. No excuse.

I know in other leagues at other sites, you can add players not listed, but I don't see that option here. If you make a post and send an e-mail, I am sure something can be worked out. If you were to put in the added players place, someone way down on the list who would normally never be drafted anyway, it would keep the site happy and the draft moving.

Fingers crossed Emmitt un-retires??

Ednecks, opinions are like STD's everyone has got one (or in same cases 3, right monkey man)

I happen to be pretty happy with both my teams right now, a little bitter that I waited this long to get a QB, but who knows what can happen. I was suppose to draft a QB in the 6th round. Unfortunately, I couldnt make the draft, and I asked BSB to make the pick for me. Thats the type of wing man I am;)
ANyway, he got confused in regards to which league he was drafting for and thought I already had McNabb. So rather then getting a QB, he picked up the backup QB for arguably the best RB in the league. Hey, anything can happen, thats why god invented injuries. My team is strong, Im content. Yours on the other hand, I am disappointed in you Ednecks. Awesome QB tandem of Eli, Campbell! Maybe you can convert Rudi Johnson into one two, I dont see him do anything? Only guy I really like is Westbrook. I have to go

time to vote on a new time limit? Listen, I know that we are spread out everywhere, and that sucks for timing. I also know at this rate, we WILL still be done in time for Kickoff. Nevertheless, this is BS! I dont care for myself as much as the fact that I dont like rude/inconsiderate people. This isnt the most important thing in the world, I know that, but there is no reason that it takes over a day for one round, or half a round. Pre draft if you know you wont be around (for who, for what?) Things come up, thats understandable. But 9 times out of 10, this can be avoided. I would just like to add that I have my team, and I have this league wrapped up;)

I agree, this is getting stupid. I had hoped we would finish the draft this weekend and it doesn't look like it now. I propose cutting the time limit down to 9 hours and more importantly, the penalty for busting a time limit is having to wait one round before you can make your replacement pick. 2nd violation (in either league) and you make your replacement pick at the end of the draft.

The other thing I don't quite understand is if someone is about to bust the time limit, why don't the next 10 owners make sure they have players predrafted, so that the tardy owner is sure to pay a significant price.

You guys may be waiting on me in the morning. I have pre drafted for this pick, but I am not predrafting for the next pick due to bye week issues. Between my 9th and 10th round pick, everyone has predrafted. So once I come up, there will be a wait. I am sorry...

The most enjoyable part of this league is the draft and how the strategy is so difference then your conventional leagues. Now I have to admit
Gridiron has busted the 12 hour time limit 4 times which is just taking the piss and Trashhaulers twice for whatever reasons along with a few others, now I really think you and us need to consider weather your heart is actually into this league, if not please don't come back next year!!! I'm sure there are owners who would love to replace you and show the league some respect.

Seriously, why is this board so quiet? Every year its the same old silence with the exception of me and Ednecks going at each other, ednecks yelling at the slow drafters like an old man yelling at kids on walking on his grass, Monkey man typing about hittin belly buttons, and a little (but 2 much) college football talk. Wheres all the other people? You could not have gotten this busy over the last couple years, I dont get it!

Thanks Ed,

Jon emailed me about trading one of his kickers for my 10th round pick in Art Monk. I am willing to do it but I need to make sure he is still good with it because the email he sent was from much earlier in the day.

If you hear from him tell him it's a go, just trade me Graham and he can have my 10th rounder. Shak- is this cool?

Strange last pick in AM for me, but all good kickers gone, went for a good sleeper TE (Utrecht) to cover for Crumpler

I have heard of covering QB's, RB's on byes, and even kickers (jhhhhhhh), but covering a TE? That was an interesting pick man. Some strange things this draft. I am not very happy with my bye weeks, didnt plan them out very well. And my kicker, is not that great. He has a rookie breathing down his neck. But playing on a high powering O like the NOS, I Hope he was a good grab in the long run. Plus he fit my bye weeks. Any WR/TE is iffy with the Bears QB situation man. Hope it doesnt work out to well for you;)

Tim,

From our previous thread, post #32:
We also said the trade deadline is once the draft starts.

was that a typo shak? Im pretty sure the trade deadline was before the end of the draft. Otherwise, who makes trades before we even have players to trade? I have to get some sleep now, so I cant check. But IM pretty sure we are trading during the draft. I remember trading with my best friend ednecks a couple years back cause he screwed up his QB situation/bye weeks. He has a short term memory and forgets how good I have been to him throughout the years. I think it was green for bulger or something like that. I know Bulger was involved.
Anyway, IM just jealous that I didnt think to try to trade with JHHH after his mishap(s).

Jim,

It doesn't matter to me, I thought it was allowed.

I am on my way to class and will get a break sometime around 1100 CST and I will check then. I am the last pick so just let me know your answer and I will either take me a kicker or trade the pick to Jon. I will check here and my work email before I make the pick.

Thanks,
Tim

October 07, posted by mr. immunity. WHo is that anyway? Anyways, check out the last paragraph, and when did this change?

And no transactions after the draft, you get what you draft to last you all 17 weeks! You can trade during the draft but the max # of players you can have is 10. All trades must be for even number players or picks ie 1 for 1, 2 for 2, 3 for 3 etc.

I thought we could trade until the draft was over...that is why I was frantically trying to find someone to trade before the 10th round ended. I needed to correct my mistake after the two kicker blunder (never draft before having your morning coffee). I'm not bothered with the result of what happens...I'm a big boy, I can live with my mistake.

You're probably right Joe, I was figuring if Crumpler went down or had a down year for some reason Utrecht would be a backup. We'll see what happens, that's the fun of trying different strategies with the two teams.

Joe I can't be bothered to evaluate everyones roster this year, you give it a shot this year if you want. "Now get off my lawn" or I'll have you shot.

Plus not real happy with the way the draft went, Didn't go so well for me, probably because I was in a coma during most of it!!

Monkey man, how was the trip. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right? Unless Little Joe shows up and video tapes via a poor quality camera phone about 12 random minutes of a drunk guy running around with a cubs cap on and no pants hitting on very unattractive showguys. Seriously man, with all that makeup, who would have know they were guys?

This is the first time I have been on fleaflicker and I must say, for a free site, it looks pretty good. Not all of the bells and whistles of CBS, but this is free and if my player is hurt, it doesn't matter as there are no subs. Great choice.

Rudi getting picked up really hurt Smith's chances. One little slipup and he will be riding Rudi's coat tails for awhile, until Rudi starts whining in Detroit.

I just hope that in week 4 and 8 I think there are some really bad scoring teams, I went with best available on one league and best available with bye week considerations in another. We'll see how that turns out.

I'll rate my chances and teams.

Art Monk QB: Rothlisberger, Delhomme, nothing exciting after the big 3, but I think Roth has what it takes too score big. Delhomme, well when Smith is on the field he's a compentent QB, mainly looking for a few big weeks when I need them.

RB: Chester Taylor and Leon Washington, probably waited a little long on getting a RB, but I'm hoping for a few injuries to boast these boys stats. I may pay for this strategy!!

WR/TE: Where I'll score my points, otherwise its curtains early and Joes a happy man, Fitzgerald, Braylon Edwards, Roy Williams, Driver and Heap all will be productive most weeks. I tried something different here and I think in this league you need consistent scoring from all three positions and this in my opinion was probably my worst draft of all time, not happy with it...lets hope for a miracle.

Darrell Green: QB: Eli Manning and Campbell, steady, nothing spectaculiar, waitied to long to get a top tier guy, lets hope Eli can be the QB we saw late last year.

RB: Westbrook, Graham, Rudi Johnson, I think that's a very solid threesome if Rudi takes over in Detroit then it will score me enough points each week to cruise through every week. Graham is the key, need some TD's out of him.

WR/TE: Holt, V. Jackson, Royal and Dallas Clark. I know Holt is starting to fade a little, but he's all they got, he'll get his points. Hoping that Eddie Royal makes a statement while Marshall is away and he can be a surprize every week. Vincent Jackson has all the tools and showed that in the playoffs last year, I have high hopes that Gates stays hurt and things remain the same in SD. Dallas Clark IMO is Peytons favorite target and I'll get some big weeks out of him.

Overall I think that is a very Solid team, with only the QB's maybe not getting me enough each and every week...happy with it.

In this format, a great looking team can leave at any week and I've managed the bye weeks pretty well, so I'm hoping that in the AM I get enough out of those WR's and that A. Peterson gets a nagging injury. In the DG I'll hang most weeks, probably would have been a better draft taking Thomas Jones or Turner rather then Graham, but I liked the way Graham ran the ball last year. Just not real happy with the QB's.

Not the usual steady Edneck Draft, waiting 36 hours for the draft to move 2 spots probably sent me into a crazy rage and that reflected in my picks.

Yes, making excuses already..
