SI.com has an Eagles vs. Pats Super Bowl -- with the Eagles losing!

The dreaded SI curse -- maybe Michael Phelps broke it!

The luckiest 2 players in the league are those who play Judy in week 7. That's the Iggles' bye week. Judy will have about half a roster that week.... Alas I am not one of the lucky pair.

My DEF and IDP will rise to the occasion that week. I only need to find a TE and a K, positions that can be
somewhat useless anyway.

my roster is complete. Randy Moss faces Tom Brady and the NE-Defense in week 1. I like it!

for me week 10 will be tough. I have 7 players on bye that week, but only need to cover TE and IDP. should not be that hard, also because it is late in the season and a few players may already be out by then or replaced because they underperform.

judy,

We're just barely through the draft so far. There's still plenty of time for you to pick one up! Beyond Cole there's not a lot of high IDP predictions for the Eagles--that could change.

OK then.

I have frozen all the rosters until Sat noon, so if you made a mistake, now is the time to tell me!

Use the transactions --> claims to stake any claims to current FA's. These will be processed at noon on
Saturday.

Use transactions --> waivers to claim any waiver guy -- somebody that got dropped during the claims session
-- I am not sure when these will get processed, but dropped players go to the waiver wire for 48 hours which
would be Monday at noon. I will get back to you about that.

When I get home on Saturday night, I'll unlock the drop/add function and I Believe that is when you
can start picking up FA people -- I need to double check that.

Anyhow, if you want to make some claims for Saturday, now is the time to plan for that. Any questions, post
here! Anyone with answers, reply!

oh yes,

The claims order is the reverse of the first round of the draft. Claims and waiver wire order
changes (to the bottom you go with each rewarded player) are automatic and linked -- I have no
idea what that means, but I know I don't have to redo it each week like I did last year! Yeah!

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?

I've noticed that most of you have already set a starting lineup for next week. I would encourage the
rest of you to do so as well -- you can always change it later.

Fanball is pretty strict -- if you are missing a required starting player, you get no points for that game
and that would certainly put a damper on your early season! Although the first game is not until
Thursday night, it is a good idea to get ready early, in case something comes up.

I'll start:

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
stop, wait! I should have had a plan for this whole thing? I thought we all take best player available. thats not really a plan. ok, seriously, the plan was:
a) get good starters at the offensive positions
b) get good starters at the defensive positions
c) get some backups for the offense
d) draft DL and K last

I nearly accomplished that. waiting for a starting QB until week 11/13 was not really the plan but others kept drafting them pretty high compared to previous years.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?
favorites are my QBs: Bulger in the 11th, Rodgers in the 13th. both can surprise this year.
Randle El in the 16th.

there are currently no do overs, because my whole team is healthy and haven't lost the job they had when I drafted them

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
I don't see a great RB-combo, I don't see a great WR combo. every team has a weak link at one or both of these positions, mine included. if I really need to líke a different team I need to look at the defense positions. I'd give SwinganaMiss the credit to have the 2nd best team in the league. if I would trade my QBs over I'd be happy with either of these 2 teams, as long as I don't look to deep into the bench.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
that so many WRs went that early. After last years RB-RB draft, there were only 4 managers that went RB-RB. but after last years point-production of the top QBs/WRs that was kind of expected tough.
of course that we were much faster than the other leagues in drafting. the pace was really good and I always had the time to prepare long enough for my next pick.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?
I'd sign up for AAA2 because looking at their draft it seems to be an easier league to get back to RIFC. but this league is not about winning, it is about competition. it is much more fun if you need to fight till the end to have a chance at the playoffs.

I can't wait until the season begins. it will be Friday night, 1am local time, Redskins vs. Giants or Randle El vs. Bradshaw in terms of my team. Good luck to you all and may the best and not the luckiest manager win.

Here is the RIFC 2007 draft recap thread header:

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned? I wanted a premium RB in first round and got to pick 3rd so I got one. Then I was only going to take starters, but not at end of position runs. If runs happened I was switching to another position. I wanted one of top 4 QB's so had to grab Brees at #2. I wanted to really load up on IDP's as soon as the first one went. I went rookie for backup RB late in draft rather than go RBBC in middle of draft. I tried to stay with best value available, and I think I did. I wanted to stay flexible, and I did. Yes I think so assuming that I knew my own plan. My team should be better later in year if I do not panic.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over? 8.12 LB Lofa Tatupu 11.03 Antonio Cromartie SD DB, and 16.12 Chad Pennington QB Mia. Pick over = San Diego DT at 5.03 way too early for DT.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)? I really like Toral's and mjd's teams.

4. What surprised you most about the draft? The QB's that went early, and the long run on WR's early. Also, that a few managers kept taking RB's. But they are all smarter than me.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently? I would spend more time researching the IDP's. I would take the second pick in the draft to be closer to my next pick when the draft turns the corner coming back. I would take a back up RB in round 5.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

I didn't have a plan entering the draft per se. Having hte first pick, I was taking LT or AP. With 2nd pick I was going to take a high quality RB if there was one left. If not, I'd take a top WR. After that, I just wanted to draft my team in a way that I didn't have to reach or if other teams had their positions drafted--esp. starters--I'd stay off those players and let them fall if I could.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Could tell you better after the season! Guess Turner at 2.14, Chriss Perry at 8.14, Eli at 11.01, Hardy at 16.14.

Do overs? Gost at 19.01? A kicker that high? Dunno about that one. But he wasn't the first and another one went right after him.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

Tough call with several good teams. Maybe Swing's.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

WRs went higher and longer than I thought. But I jsut rolled with it and took other positions and when everyone else had basically drafted all they wanted, I got some sleepers. Just hope they wake up in time to be productive!

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

Every draft is dfferent. If DA isn't healthy, then I'd do that different. But I drafted him knowing that he is coming off a concussion. I drafted another nice QB just in case.

RIFC AAA 2008 DRAFT RECAP

1.What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
My plan/strategy at the onset of the draft was the same as it had always been in years of playing RIFC AAA and RIBC AAA and AA: to make it to the bigs. This season with the sacrifice of my marriage and practice, estrangement from my children and the use of an IBM mainframe I will make it happen. I wanted to concentrate on offense and then go onto defensive players. Picking and filling all of the number one players at each position before choosing secondary players with decisions modified by the best player available at the time was my basic strategy. I would have liked to have been stronger at the RB position, but this was my trade off for picking Brady number one. However, for the most part I was able to execute as planned.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?
My two quarterbacks were my favorite picks. I did not expect either Brady or Favre to be available at 1.09 and 12.06 respectively. I also do not expect Brady to duplicate his 2007 season, but I think that he still will produce fantasy numbers that will keep me in every game. Favre may not have the same rejuvenated season that he had in 2007, but he will be a good play in Brady’s bye week and a credible #2 QB if Brady is injured. When I picked Heap at 9.09, I did not realize how frequently he has been injured in past seasons. If he stays healthy he will be a good pick, if not he is the pick that I would like to do over.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
I think that Ref’s and MJD’s teams are the strongest giving an edge to Ref because of his RBs.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
I was not really surprised, but I was very pleased how smoothly the draft progressed.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?
As is usually the case with my drafts, I am pleased with the way my team has turned out and would not do anything very differently. Unfortunately the results at the end of previous seasons have not borne out my confidence at the beginning. I too cannot wait for the football season to begin and will be at Giants Stadium rooting on Big Blue on Thursday. Thanks again to Judy for commishing, and good luck to all.

Nice to know that's down there. At first glance you guys don't have nearly the dead weight that's present in AAA2. Just a couple of teams that are non-competitive from day 1.

First glance youngroman looks flashy, but not so sure that run of 4 idps in the single digit rounds will work out. Also waited the longest to take a backup of anyone in either league (I think) Still probably the favorite from the non top 5 picks. At least gets style points for having some guts.

From the first 5 picks I like ref tops, but more by default than anything.

I'll put something more in depth later.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

My plan was to stay conservative and not overdraft in the early rounds. Last year I had Cedric Benson Mojo Drew in the first two and was able to have a presentable showing despite a close to total waste for my first two rounds. I may have over compensated by not getting a RB until round 5 but I executed my strategy and we'll see how it plays out.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Don't know that I really have a lot of favorites maybe Pierre Thomas 16.01 Zach Miller 18.01 and Isaac Bruce 19.14 made for good depth in later rounds which always helps.

Manning at 2.1 I just didn't see a good RB left and I stretched a lot there. Probably in hind sight Jamal Lewis might have been the ticket.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I think ref got good quality at all positions. Even on defense where many cut corners.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

I knew RB's would move quickly but was a little suprised at how quickly. 24 of the first 41 picks. I don't think over 12-14 will be studs the rest will be in time shares.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

Take an earlier slot. I took 14 when 11 was available and that kept me from getting a RB early. Although Larry Johnson or Ryan Grant would have been my choice they do both have question marks.

Yeah it didn't appear people needed a RB by that point, so I let him drop two rounds more and I just hoped he didn't get nabbed. When I came up I jumped all over Perry. I was hoping he was good at RB with those 3 so I didn't grab a 4th until the last pick of the draft when I nabbed a backup. I like my draft--but who knows. So many guys went before it could get back to me with 26 picks in between. YOu just never nkow until they start playing!

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

I wanted to hold off on IDP's. I think it's easier to find a bargain there than other positions. I pretty much did that. I traded my 1.02 pick down and moved up in the 2nd round so as to draft Jamal Lewis. My draft / season hinges on Lewis and Addai staying healthy and duplicating last season. I always want a good TE, and I got one. Two, maybe.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

13.02 Chris Brown. The season hasn't even started and I have my first guy on injured reserve. Chad Johnson, injured shoulder...probably not good. Carson Palmer at 5.02. Way too early. That team is falling apart daily. . My first round pick....I ended up with Addai, but could have had any of the 2-4 rated RB's. Or Brady. Those were my dubious picks. My favorite picks are DeAngelo Williams 8.13, Scheffler 15.02, Ahman Green 20.13. I thought Scott Hatteberg was one of my favorite picks in baseball; so that shows what I know.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I usually don't bother to do this, but this time I did for some reason. E'ville , if some of his RB's pan out, can be trouble. Great QB and receivers. Ref.....anybody that gets LT is automatically a favorite in my book. Loki......I'm not sure how he got AP and Tom Brady. Donkey Hunter, if he can get any points out of his receivers.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

It went pretty fast. Lack of interest in DB's. IMO, the 20th best DB is better than the 66th best LB. QB's lasting longer than expected, after the top 4.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

Not make any trades? Not make the bad picks in item 2.

Good luck to all, and thanks to Judy and mjd and anyone else who helped for a smooth draft.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

My Number one strategy was to get Westbrook and I did. After that I wanted a good WR and I got
Colston. Then I needed an early QB (due to no round 4/6 picks) so I took McNabb. I did go “off key” with
Ricky Williams as my #2 RB, but I think he will surprise a lot of people. I always screw up my WR2 and 3
choices, but maybe the rookies DeSean Jackson and Eddie Royal will be pleasant surprises (Please?). I did
make some sacrifices losing picks in rounds 4 and 6 and that hurt my WR 2/3 choices.
Then I wanted to go early and load up on strong LB and DL. I am counting on at least 45 - 55 points
from my six IDP’s each week.
I also like to take chances on rookies (Rice, Jackson, Royal and Mayo) and on comeback players
(Urlacher, Peppers, Polamalu, Smith).

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Favorite picks were Westbrook, Colston, McNabb, Jackson, Allen, Peppers and Urlacher and the Colts def
(with their early bye --4 -- I’ll have more drop add flexibility.)

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I like Ref’s offense, mjd’s strength at the #1 at each offensive position and his depth there, Loki’s overall
strength and he has Brady..., E’ville with P Manning and Moss. I think that sometimes IDP’s provide the
differences and so looking at IDP’s and DST, I like Ref, Swing and DH.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

I was surprised at the quick depletion of good #1/2 RB’s, and that the strong DL/LB’s did not come off
the board sooner. I was also surprised at the draft grid to see so many teams with 6 RB and/or WR.
(Toral has 8 RB and 5 WR!) I have only 4 RB and 5 WR -- mostly because I hate to make the decsions on
who should start! I don’t plan for injuries...I plan for the bye weeks and handcuffs.

I liked that the draft seemed to go smoothly as the managers set up Q’s and trusted DP’s to make picks.
It was nice to have a few days to “rest” after the rush of drafting!

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

I really do like my team, despite the fact that I have 6 Eagles on offense. I really did not mean to do that
from the beginning, it just happened -- honest. Next year, I need to figure out a better way to evaluate
the WR 2/3 position. Colston will be fine in pass happy NOLA, but I need others to contribute.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

After selecting s top RB, I wanted to pick 3 top WRs (or 2 and as TE) and a #2 RB with my 4 picks in rounds 2, 3, and 4; wait until round 9 or so for a QB and then pick 2 in a row if 2 quality ones were left; get adequate quality at IDP without wasting unduly high picks; avoid unnecessary bye week conflicts by having different byes at all IDP positions and at TE/K/Team Defence; and pick up every backup RB with potential in the National Football League.

I was satisifed with my execuation.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Favourites:

All 3 top WRs
David Garrard 9.05
Maurice Morris 12.10

Do-Overs:

I knew from experience that Willis Mcgahee 3.05 has a bad attitude so have no-one to blame but myself, but was a little surprised that it was so bad that the Baltimore Sun began speculating he would be cut by the end of training camp. Still, I like him better than the next bunch of RBs picked, I guess.

No do-overs.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

The three teams I like best are those of (Kafenatid names) dror, eserel and footwedge. However don't break out the champagne as no team I have tabbed in this manner has ever won a league or come close.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

Nothing really.

Some picks I liked:

5.08 Selvin Young
7.06 Donald Driver
9.08 Matt Schaub
10.02 Justin Fargas
14.08 Eddie Royal
17.12 Kurt Warner
19.09 Jerry Porter
19.14 Isaac Bruce
20.07 Bryant Johnson
21.11 Kevin Jones (what the heck was he doing there?)
24.12 Josh Morgan

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

For once I can say, "No".

Judy-I can post this weekly, but it could easily be totally off base. The program also ranked the teams in our league by strength which of course impacts on these predictions.-l

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
My plan, unless something odd happened, was to get only 1 RB in the top two rounds but load up on WR and RB early. I wanted to get quality LBs given their higher point possibilities, and save the other IDP positions for late. I wanted to wait on QB given the overall equality of many tier 2-3 QBs.
I executed my strategy, though I'm not overly excited about the actual players that I got early on. My top two RBs are on many people's bust radar. That's scary. My top two WR both have the same bye week, which really handcuffed me, and Welker has some injury that might linger into the regular season.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?
As I mentioned, I'm not exactly thrilled with LJ or Edge. In retrospect I might've taken Holmes at 3.12 and picked a RB at 4.03 (Edge might've still been there). That would've let me get Holmes instead of Welker, so that I could've been more flexible with WR bye weeks. youngroman wondered why Burleson fell as far as he did....that was one reason. I would've snatched him at 5.12 or 6.03 if I didn't already have two WR on bye that same week. My favorite picks are Warner, who should really help me out if he stays healthy, and Clements, who was a beast for me last year. Also I got myself two good tight ends, which can help me with flexibility down the road.

Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
Last year I went to some pretty significant lengths to analyze the best teams. I don't have that kind of free time this year, so I'll be very un-scientific. I can see why so many like ref's team. It will be formidable if Turner and Perry produce and stay healthy. I also like eserel's team. I think the starters on this team match up well with any other teams. I could go on about strengths and weaknesses of all the teams, but I think it's a pretty well-balanced league.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
I was shocked during the draft with the backup QB run in 12-13. As I mentioned in my rationales I expected something better than Garcia to come back to me in the 13th. Overall backup QBs in our league seemed to go earlier than other leagues.
The sheer number of RBs drafted is pretty amazing...70 drafted when only 28 will be used in any given week. 71 WR drafted and as many as 42 of those will be used each week.
This league seemed more aware of IDP scoring than last year (AA for me). I got myself a lot of top-shelf LBs last year. This year LBs were going early and often.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?
Aside from the do-over picks above, I think I did about as well as I could've expected from the spot I started with. I wish I would've taken a second QB in Rd 12, but that worked itself out when Warner became available. I probably wish I would've gone ahead and picked some of the WR I had queued up but never pulled the trigger on....Hackett and Porter in particular, were on my radar for a while.

Good draft and good luck to all this year!

I think the easiest way to do it is to do a direct trade -- otherwise the dropped guy goes to waivers and that
might get messy.

I send an email to you and Dave to do the swap directly and then shoot me an email to approve it.

I will be rechecking gameday roster line ups on Monday and will remind those without a
complete lineup to fill them out. As of my last look (~ 3pm EDT) , there were no gameday
lineups for dave/thunder bunnies, DH/return of team 13, and Swing.

Also, mjd needs another starting player and DH needs to add a Kicker to his roster.

To keep me from getting nervous for you, could you please fix these vacancies no later

60: I just added it up. Not sure if that is what you're asking though.

61: You're asking me to separate the draft into thirds and re-do it?

I ordered it based on the avg. pick. As you can see, three of my picks were lower than other avg picks.

As I posted in Guru's consolidated thread, a lot has to do with the differences in draft timiing, the runs in each draft, draft peeks perhaps, and other biases that could skew the numbers. But it's always interesting. If my picks flop and I picked way ahead of avg., then I was way off base. But just because I reached--doesn't nec. mean it was a bad pick. Likewise, just because I got a player much later than his average doesn't nec. mean it's a good pick.

I have openoffice, but I've never tried it before. In excel, the columns are there and when you paste from IE, they just fill in the blanks. You adjust for space, etc., but perhaps that is where we were lost in translation.

Well, I think I get the prize for drafting my guys early -- 9 were at the minimum and another 7 were
below the average! Look at my total: minus 198! YIPES! However, 20 of my guys were
drafted by all of us, so that works for me. I like my 3's -- Booker (handcuff for Westbrook), Hackett (a
sleeper I think), and Polamalu (a comeback year?? -- if not he gets dumped soon -- DB are dime a
dozen).

However, I did have a plan (determined in part by my trades and subsequent draft order) and I believe it
worked. I like to take chances on rookies and comeback players and I clearly did. As a result, some of
them, I grabbed early to be sure I had them. Of course, the test is in the games, so we shall see.

NB I am not sure how the averages work since I was the only one to draft R. Mathis and his average was
23.13 and I drafted him at 20.08, so I think the average should be 20.08. Does anyone know what data
were used for the averages column --was it just our league?

It was all four RIFC leagues.

For me, some things I have to ttake with a grian of salt since I was on the ends. So within 26 picks, it still might be fine. But 58 picks early, it's likely no one else had them on their radar--but who knows? Several times people said I grabbed a player right before them. Several times players I valued were nabbed before it got back to me.

I was at Giants Stadium last night. The energy at the stadium was amazing; I almost felt that I was at a Jets game. Anyone who has been to Giants and Jets games knows what I am talking about. The outcome of the game was great except for my fantasy team. Fletcher-Baker 's name was announced time after time as the tackler, and neither Jacobs or Burress scored a TD although they both totalled greater than 100 yards.

YR-Thusfar it seems that you have a good chance of winning our matchup this week.-l

Tackle stats are now fixed. (See #84.) YR earned 14.5 not 19.5 points from Fletcher. Phew -- I was
concerned that I might need to do something with the rules, although GURU noticed it first.

I am so ready for some stats for MY team!!!

I just finally got back to reading the threads. I took a break from football and did some honey-do's. I thought it was way cool to see Guru's breakdown of all the pick locations in each league. I have to admit that I never looked at any other RIFC league selections during my draft, and it shows. My score is -134 which indicates I am gonna have a lousy year. Of course my 3 bad picks: Pennington, Cromartie and Kevin Curtis added up to -180.

Ref, and Judy, How did you guys get those draft grids inputted into your threads? Not that anyone wants to see my draft mistakes.

Actually I mixed up what you were asking dave. To get it into the post, I selected the square of cells that had the info, saved the selection as an HTML page, then just copied the entire source and pasted it. Make sure you select the radio button below for 'Ignore line feeds?' You also need to change the alignment to 'left' instead of 'center' in the html code.

There maybe be another way of doing this, but that's how I do it anyways.

who this time B7?

Buffalo Linebacker Crowell. Not that big a deal.

I finally got my season tickets after about 25 years on the waiting list.

That's unbelievable. Some follow up question if you have time:

* Is this the longest wait in the league? Green Bay?
* How do seats become available? Does somebody have to die?
* How many people were ahead of you when you originally signed up 25 years ago?
* Where are the seats at?
* How much do scalper/ebay tickets go for? What is the premium over the regular price?
* Why don't they add some seats, get a bigger stadium, or raise the prices since there is obviously a big demand for tickets?
* How many are on the waiting list now, and is there still a 25 year projected wait?

Sorry to get off-thread here. My guess is that other league members may be interested in this, also, though.

dave

this is how I did it.

I had to use Explorer as Safari did not let me copy paste. I opened Excel.

I opened GURU's thread and found my guys and highlighted each line and copied it into
excel, making sure that I kept them in the order I drafted them. For some reason, it
gave me extra columns which I deleted at the end. Then I figured out how many draft
picks my guys were from the average and made a new column and then added it up.

Then I emailed it to Ref who put it into the thread for me.

Also, don't worry about your -134, I am -198!!! I did get the guys I wanted so I am not
too worried just yet!!

I finally got my season tickets after about 25 years on the waiting list.

That's unbelievable. Some follow up question if you have time:

* Is this the longest wait in the league? Green Bay?--I cannot answer this, but it is my understanding that there is very little if any seat availability in GB because seats are willed to family members.
* How do seats become available? Does somebody have to die?--The situation is similar to that in GB, except that NY has had more yearly cancellations.
* How many people were ahead of you when you originally signed up 25 years ago?--I think that it was 20-25,000.
* Where are the seats at?-- Upper tier side end zone, but with very good sight lines.
* How much do scalper/ebay tickets go for? What is the premium over the regular price?--Believe it or not , the prepaid parking pass commands more of a premium than than many of the seats. Because of the construction of the new stadium, which is adjacent to the old one, only cars with this pass can park in the lot and tailgate there. The pass ($15 last year and $20 in 2008) for some games will sell for over $100. Why don't they add some seats, get a bigger stadium, or raise the prices since there is obviously a big demand for tickets?--There will be about 4,000 more seats in the new stadium that will shared with the NY Jets and is scheduled to open in 2010.
* How many are on the waiting list now, and is there still a 25 year projected wait? The waiting list is now at 130,000, but this will be irrelevant at the new stadium. The Giants and the Jets are selling Personal Seat Licenses with ownership required to purchase season tickets. The licenses are transferable by sale or may be bequeathed to family or friends. Since these can be sold at a profit to anyone, a waiting list will be unnecessary.

So, Green Bay is the place where you have to have the tickets willed to you. I didn't know N.Y. had such a turnover. It looks like you got your tickets just in time. Plus the Giants look to be good this year. The Giants waiting list of 130,000 exceeds the entire population of Green Bay and could fill two more stadiums.

davypro: You can save it as a web page. There might be an easier way to do it, but here is what I do as I just figured it out after a lot of messing with stuff...(doing htis from memory so hope I don't miss a step)...

1. Copy into xl and set up all the forumals cells, etc.
2. Highlight the area I want to save
3. Go to save as
4. enter the file name click on eeh radio dial to save that area and put it to save as a web page
5. Open up an IE browser
6. Click on File/Open
7. Browse
8. Find your saved html file and open it
9. Click on view source
10. Go to bottom of the source and hit cntrl F
11. Type in center and go up and hit enter
12. Change center to left
13. cntrl A
14. cntrl C
15. Go to rotoguru thread and hit chtrl V
16. click on radio line feed yes (for HTML table input)

FROM GURU:

"Suggs. Ugh.

Our past policy on position changes is that a player may continue to be used at the position he was listed
at in the draft. So, Suggs may continue to be used as a DL.

Unfortunately, this requires some messiness. Fanball does not allow me to adjust a player's position
eligibility. So, I will have to change the stated rules to allow no DL, and administer this manually. Each
team will still be required to start at least one DL (with Suggs considered a DL), even though the site will
not disallow a lineup with no DL. I'll just have to make sure everyone complies."

From Judy: I will explain ramifications later.

loki - you may be right. with Brady healthy this would have been a close matchup. I only saw a short replay of the play he got injured and did not think that he may miss the season because of that. losing the first pick a few snaps into the season must hurt. I don't know how this will affect my 1st round pick Randy Moss.

looking at all the injuries that happened yesterday I am pleased that only Burleson seems to have an injury that could keep him out for some games. I keep my fingers crossed, but it shows once again, that fantasy football is not only skill-based, it needs a lot of luck to succeed too.

Here's a STAT:

We drafted 24 Team Def. 14 played.

The average score for all 24 was 10.66 points. The best was Tenn with 24. Six others over 15 points were:
Buf (17), Eagles (19), Chi (20), PGH (17), Balt (21), and AZ (21). Buf and Eagles were benched! (oops)

The low was Oak with minus 3. YIPES!

Conclusion (at least for week 1): It is tough to get a lot of points from your Team Def. unless they sack, do
the fumble thing, and intercept!

I'll try to run this stat weekly to see if the pattern continues.

I also like to look at luck in the wins and losses. Your schedule can also determine your luck. If you play the high scorer more than average, than you are unlucky. If you play the low scorer more than average, that is good luck. If you score below the weekly average and still win, that is good luck. Of course you can be second high scorer and still lose a game. However, I believe the first tie breaker is still total number of points so does luck matter?

On the other hand, what do I know??

I think there are even wild card playoff spots based solely on total points so that luck cant hurt you too bad. But what do I care I had the highest total this week so I dont need luck!

As for pickoff I kicked your guys butt. I picked the Thursday night game correct then forgot to make picks for the Sunday and Monday games. So i am slightly in the positive. Maybe that should be a strategy. Find one or two games a week and dont bother with the rest.

There sure are! That's how I made the playoffs last year despite going 10-16, after Brian Westbrook sacrificed himself for his team!

Despite this I like the (fluke) W/L aspect of the game. There's nothing greater (I mean funnier) than hearing a guy's screams after he loses because of a flukey 90-yard TD pass in OT on MNF. THAT's Fantasy Football.

As I told Judy in an earlier email - I really hated the Live Scoring in Fanball during the second MNF game this week. I think my total point spread winning and losing was less than 3 points adding both games together. Every single play changed the status of losing and winning either game #1 with Ref or game #2 with S R. It was excruciating and I could not leave the TV nor the computer. Nice analysis. We have IDP's to score sacks, int's, and fumbles. I would get rid of those and replace them with return yardage for fumbles and int's. Increase points for PA and YA. Getting a rule change thru a Rotoguru Invitational league is harder than amending the U.S. Constitution, though.

I wondered what was happening! Thanks Ref. Glad you know what you are doing, 'cause I sure can't
figure it out! How should I "fix" the next one so it works?

B7 -- howze IKE? are you close --ie., Houston? or "just" Texas in general. I guess the big worry is
electricity now... and flooding...

I'm planning to run a weekly stat like above as well as the cumulative one. I can only get data from
our Team Def -- playing and bench -- so 8 team's stats are currently missing as they are not in use
by our league (currently = KC, CINN, STL, DET, CLE, SF, ATL, MIA).

We're just on the edge in College Station. We got lucky as it shifted a little bit east. Maybe 40-50 mph winds here. I've got all my lineups set in case the power goes out. I think I could use my I-phone if I had to, though.

According to ESPN, the Ravens @ Houston might not be played this Monday night. Here is the current
newsflash.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3585348

It will only affect you if you have Baltimore or Houston players in your line up. The decision could be made
this afternoon -- Look for it. If you see it before I do, please send an email to everyone in our league. I
also sent out an email alert.

Thanks.

Sproles and Bradshaw combining for 54.9 bench points is sick. do we get a bonus if the bench scores more than 100?

seems like I could go 2- again this week. this time it will be a lot closer. I hope Witten scores more than Randy Moss (2.2) yesterday.

DH

Romo can do whatever he wants -- I just need my Iggles to score >57.07 and >44.94 fantasy points.

It IS possible, but the def is not SL this week. Iggs had >84 last week.

And, of course, I need my Iggles to win the game. I say 31-24 Iggles.

Right now, I need 5 points from Zach Thomas to win one of my games, which is achievable. The mystery scoring is going to be crucial today. Even a few points gained my opponent will be crucial. Or a few points gained by me could make all the difference.

#171 Judy, actually this morning you only need 44.95 to beat me, and I will be only to happy to give you the first 44.93. Any additional points are gonna be tooth and bunny nails.

How many RIFC league managers get -1.00 from their 5th round draft pick?? I told you it was the worse pick by anyone in our league in any round.

My team is reeling. Injuries galore. My top several picks are all either hurt, sucking or both. The only player to do anything really was Eli and I got him at like 8.14 or so.

Fantasy football is no different than the NFL where the teams that go the furthest are the ones without key injuries. As for my team, when Brady went down, I thought that Favre still gave me a decent chance in the league. However after yesterday's game it seems that the Jets are making Favre play like the Jets rather than the other way around.

Hi to all,

Now that we have a little down time, see if you can find a LOGO for your team. Some really good
ones have been posted already -- check the live scoring (mjd).

BTW -- what was I thinking drafting a Dolphins RB (Williams) as my RB#2?? How could I not know that they
would be playing from behind and would be passing the ball after the first half? That's my first really stupid
pick of the draft -- I am sure that more will surface... Also, what happened to Fasano. No Stats this week.

As an Eagles fan, watching this game will be difficult.

I guess I have to root for a low scoring game.

Well so much for that.

They should try to find some good refs for these important games.

The gamebook is up on NFL.com. You can check for any changes yourself if you want. I didn't see anything when checking for my game. Lost by .74 because of Jackson's bonehead play.

That was an exciting night won one lost one. Both went down to the wire. I'm hoping no adjustments come tomorrow. I would hate to lose 1 in the closing minutes and another in OT. Speaking of which, if TO would have caught the ball on that interference call it would have saved me much worrying.
