Also a big thanks to Wolfer for stepping up to commish! It's truly a thankless job.
I just registered for the Fantrax site (literally seconds to do, which is always nice) and so far it looks to be a pretty nice site.

To give wolfer a hand (and to help those of us who are uber anxious) here's the list of who's in, who's qualified, and who's on the waitlist. Judy's filled AAA #1 so we get the scraps (of the best players available :P)
Signed up The Beezer Goatlocker jseth333 wolfer Toral Frick Kyle Nerfherders
Qualified Gangsta Brizzilz Jaydog Pancho Villa* Promize Sandwich Statics Tree Valkyrie*
*have confirmed and put e-mail in this thead
Waitlist 1. TD 2. russelldl 3. Toral 4. Art's in the Hall 5. Slizz 6. Taxman
#1 and 2 are based on the post in Guru's first post here. The rest are based on the first come first served basis. Should the other 2 teams in Guru's first post (Doug, Weykool) show an interest in returning, then they will receive #3 and #4 priority and the rest will be moved down to their appropriate spots.
We have 15 people qualified to be in a 14 person league. As Guru said, it's first come first serve, but I have a feeling we may be drawing from the waitlist.

I'm going to go back and look at last year's threads, and see if Sandwich Statics and Gangsta Brizzilz are handles or team names. I have a feeling they are team names for people with different handles.

i'm registered - but i'm about to go camping for a week with very limited internet access - if any.
i will try to check the boards with my phone presuming i have celly access...
if this thing gets randomized and i have to make my choice on where i'm picking while i'm away, if it somehow is a top 6 pick, go ahead and slot me with the highest one.
anything after that, try and give me a day or two to check in, after that, i guess whatever the highest is available?

Here are the results.....
Kyle gave me this set of numbers: 12 13 10 11 9 6 7 8 14 4 2 1 3 5
So that means, if you start with the list in #36, we get the following:
Tree Valkyrie Promize Slizz Pancho Villa jseth333 Kyle Nerfherders wolfer gurudan Frick Beezer Goatlocker Jaydog
Beezer's set of numbers were: 1 14 12 13 3 6 11 4 10 8 5 7 2 9
That leaves us with: Tree Jaydog Beezer Goatlocker Promize jseth333 Frick Slizz gurudan Nerfherders Pancho Villa Kyle Valkyrie wolfer

Some more housecleaning from my end.
Where is everybody from? Do we have anyone from outside the US?
What are everyones thought on the best time to start the draft? The reason why I wanted to start ASAP was that I wanted to get a good start before I go to the Astro- Brewer game next Sunday. Since I live on the other side of the state (Wisconsin), it will almost be an all day affair for me and I will have no access to the internet.

From Indiana, but CST (Northwest Indiana, near Chicago)
I think anytime will be fine with me. ASAP would be best since I'll be gone from the 27th to the 30th. I'll have to have my friend watch the draft and I'll also e-mail picks when he can't during that time.

I'm going to be on the road both the weekend of the August 21 and August 28. I'll have limited access during that time, but I would prefer to have the draft start as late as possible. It's not fun to your season over before the first game because a high pick gets injured in the preseason. And the compounded effect of the a random drafter getting to draft his now much more highly rated replacement. Injuries are definitely part of football, but starting later is preferable to me.
If people are good about leaving queues or using Kafenatid we can knock out the draft fairly quickly.

I too think a later start makes more sense. My initial thought was aiming to start on Monday, August 17. That would give us 23 days for 24 rounds of drafting, which should be easily doable.

"the next AAA 2 champ FEAR THE MONKEY" "Boy, lot's of people don't realize that I am the one headed back to RIFC where we all know I belong."
I called it first! That means I'm going to win. And yes, my smack talk consists of 4th grade taunts and tactics or "calling things". :)

Is there some reason why the east coast seems to think they are on standard time and not daylight time? I prefer standard time and would like to switch too if it is individually possible? or is this just an east coast thing? While I am on it I want season saving time- the longest day of the year shouldn't be in June the start of the summer but in July or August in the middle of the summer- similarly the shortest day should be in January or Februsry not December- Can't we just move all the seasons back a month and call it season savings ? I suggest we just skip April or May in 2010 to accomplish this?

I grew up with EST, none of this crappy EDT that I have to deal with now. No time changes for the win.

Valkyrie, I don't remember anyone ever saying CDT or EDT before in my life. Now I'm not the oldest player in the league by any stretch of the imagination, but I've always heard CST.

Wolfer I PROTEST you can't stop a 4 hr clock from 11 pm to 7 am EDT- That means a PDT could be timed out before 8 am PDT- In addition the PDT cut-off is 8 p.m - Why does everyone have this tremendous anti-west coast bias??? A stopage from 3 am to 9 am EDT would be much more fair. West Coast Manager.

Valkyrie - that's too much of a swing the other way. 3 am??? are you kidding me.
but i also agree with you about the west coast problem, despite being on the east coast.
i'm trying to remember what i've done when i've commissioned, by i feel like i did a 4 hour clock that was 9 am to midnight on the east, which is 6 am to 8 pm on the west.
that pretty much allows both coasts to not have to worry about being awake at an ungodly hour.

Tree- think about it a 3 am east cut off means if you checked at 11:30 pm and you still weren't up ou would only have to check by 9 am to keep from getting timed out. It's really not unreasonable at all. Similarly west coasters could still make picks until midnight. I have never drafted with an 11 pm eastern cut-off or an 8 am timeout- what do you think you are Rotohog?

Valkyrie - West coasters can make picks, even with the clock off.
anyone can pick with the clock off.
