Please post rationales here in groups of 5. It is so much easier for us to edit later.

Also, before your first one, please tell us why you selected your draft slot.

Draft position:

I had the second choice and selected the 6th slot. I wanted to be lower than last year as I hated
to wait so long between picks and have all my guys get snatched up. So I went as low as I
thought I could go and still snatch Westbrook. So now I have odds at 6 and evens at 9. Sort of
in the middle. With the first five picks at 6, 23, 34, 51, and 62, I thought I could get the guys I
wanted.

1.05 Brian Westbrook RB EAGLES
Hard to conceal with this group my affinity for Eagles players. It does help that the Eagles are a
good team. I do believe that Westie will have a good bounce back year. He was going great
until he stepped on his own guy’s legs and twisted his ankle. Considering he played the rest of
the year hurt, he did well. My other choice for this slot was LT -- another bounce back, but
Donkey took him right before me.

2.09 Marques Colston WR NOR
This is my third year with Colston and I am hoping that “Three’s a charm”. He is in a pass first
offense as a primary target for Brees and I think he wants to prove that last year was a fluke.
He needs to stay healthy!!! My real choice for WR1 was Jennings, but Slow snatched him from
me.

3.06 Donovan McNabb QB EAGLES
OKay, cut out the snickers. Whom did you think I would choose? Actually, I wanted a top 7 QB
and after Brees, Brady and Manning went, I felt everyone was pretty equal. I had Rodgers and
Donovan dead even and chose McNabb this early for two reasons: 1) I get to watch him play
and I think the Eagles are loaded with offensive talent this year and 2) if I waited until round #4,
he would have been gone and probably Rodgers too (DS took him with pick 3.10. Rivers was
taken at 3.08, so the good ones did go really early this year).

I also felt that the top tier RB and WR were also gone, so now it is a c**p shoot to try and figure
out who among the rest will perform the best. I think there are a lot of sleepers and some of
the past greats are starting to age and fade. Much less pressure on me I feel. Will try to
broaden my horizons and look for some non-Eagles...

4.09 Derrick Ward RB TB
Last year I had a terrible time with RB -- I did not have enough and I had two sets of RBBC and
always seemed to put the wrong guys into the starting line up. I was determined not to do that
again. So I looked over what was left and decided that Ward did OK with the Jints and he
should be the lead back in TB, so I chose him. (He is the 25th RB we chose.) Also the QB/WR
situation in TB is not the greatest, so I am hoping they run the ball a LOT! I just hope ****
does not steal the TD’s!

5.06 Donald Brown RB IND
Here is where I think I screwed up my draft. I had D Jack at the top (due to his Eagles pedigree)
in a long list of WR. I over thought the idea of too many Eagles on my team (I had McNabb,
Westie and D Jack last season as well), and decided NOT to take him. Regretted it immediately!
Stupid move. Not only that, all the other WR on my list -- 2/3 tier guys -- were taken before
my next pick!

I think that Brown will eventually overtake Addai as the starter, but why on Earth did I take
another RB at this point?? DUMB MOVE!! I hope it does not cost me.

1.13 Andre Johnson, WR, HOU
Picking at lucky 13, I was delighted to see RBs go the first 11
picks. I think that at least two of them are reaches. Just my
opinion, I could be totally wrong. Most NFL teams now use some
form of RBBC and there are some serious stud WRs out there
this year with the ability to consistently put up some serious
numbers on a consistent basis.
I’m seeing the NFL and fantasy leagues both changing from RB
heavy to a mix of RB and top tier WR. So getting one of the top
4 or 5 WR was my goal after getting a low draft slot is
paramount to my plan this year. After Fitz went as WR1 just
prior to my pick, it was a smorgasbord of Johnson, Johnson, and
Moss. Not necessarily in that order.
I also read somewhere that if you are picking at the top of the
draft, you obviously go for a stud RB. But typically after that
first top tier of RBs go off the board, the top tier WR will
outscore the mid second and third tier RB.

2.02 Calvin Johnson, WR, DET
I just can’t avoid taking another of the top tier WR instead of a
RB in this slot. I honestly was planning to take this Johnson with
my first pick. I do think that he is more talented than Andre, but
Houston has a better QB situation and a week 10 bye. I
seriously considered Jacobs, but he was grabbed at the turn, so
I though, ‘what the heck.’ I’ve been burned by Clinton Portis
more than once and as he won’t be getting short yardage and
goal line chances this year, he was not even remotely
considered. Plenty of talented RB to be had later and too early
(IMO) to draft a QB, though I did briefly consider Brees and
Brady here.
When you look at what Megatron did last year on a horrible
team with mediocre quarterback play, it is mind-numbing to
think what he may do with even slightly improved QB play.
Johnson is unstoppable in single-coverage and has the size and
ability to shred most double-teams. At just 23, Johnson is still
improving his craft, is huge, and lightning fast.
3.02Kevin Smith, RB, DET
When twilson indicated a willingness to move down in the third
round, I jumped all over the opportunity to get a decent RB and
Smith is highly underrated by my estimation. Playing for a team
that just went 0-16 will do that.
Smith was one of the last RB available that is his team's primary
ball carrier and one with considerable upside. His game should
see improvement in year two in the NFL. In addition, the Lions
will be better under the new coaching staff.
The Lions, under new offensive coordinator, Scott Linehan, have
installed more power running plays in addition the zone
blocking plays that Smith has been accustomed to in his college
career. These new power plays can only help Smith and his
hard-running style.
4.13 Leon Washington, RB, NYJ
The second leg of my trade with twilson. And a long time since
my last pick. Was hoping that Derrick Ward or Leon would make
it to me. Ward was grabbed, so Leon was the pick. I preferred
him, as the RB situation is to date somewhat unsettled in TB and
NYJ new coach Rex Ryan has publicly stated that he wants to get
the ball in Washington’s hands more often, as he has proven to
be a big play guy. He’s a great pass catcher and is a threat to
score from anywhere on the field. He adds further value as the
team’s main punt and kickoff returner.
5.13 Barrett Rudd, LB, TB
Going against my conventional draft style again, as I usually go
after a QB in this slot, but I’m changing up a bit on my usual
strategy and I decided I’d get a top IDP instead of a mid tier QB.
Rudd is definitely a stud. The new defensive scheme being
installed by DC Jim Bates is very MLB friendly. Projects 100-110
tackles and might be the top IDP this year.

Draft position-I chose the 1st draft slot without thoughts of any other.

1.01 Adrian Peterson, RB, Minn-Choosing the consensus number one fantasy football player was not necessarily a knee jerk reaction. MJD is a better pass catcher than AP, and at least before the acquisition of Brett Favre,AP was more likely to have the box stacked against him. I went with the safer choice, but whomever I picked will do better than my 2008 first rounder, Tom Brady.

2.14 Ronnie Brown, RB, Mia-I was not locked into the standard RB-RB draft strategy, but the top tier WRs were taken, and Twilson took Manning at 2.13 leaving another RB as the best choice. I chose Brown, but I thought that it was a tossup between Brown, Pierre Thomas, and Kevin Smith.

3.01 Dwayne Bowe, WR, KC-The 3 top QBs were off the board which meant that I could wait until later in the draft to fill this position. Bowe while not quite in the top tier should be as dependable as any of the remaining WRs.

4.14 Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ind-Without Marvin Harrison Gonzalez should get plenty of looks from Manning. It is always good to have a top receiver on Indianapolis.

5.01 Braylon Edwards, WR, Cle-Edwards is the 1st gamble that I made in this draft. He was great in 2007 but may have been the biggest fantasy football bust in 2008. My decision was between Edwards and the Pittsburgh defense, and while I usually stay away from a player coming off such a bad season,Edwards was too talented to pass on.

1.08 Frank Gore, RB, SF
The reason that I picked the eighth spot was that I wanted to be near the middle. I wanted to have the fewest amount of picks between mine. Wasn’t too sure who would be here at this point. Gore was one guy that I had in mind when I picked the eight spot. I have read that he is looking good in training camp, and with the 49ers looking like they will be running the ball a lot, he could have a great year.

2.07 Clinton Portis, RB, Wash
There was a run on WR’s that was going on and I wasn’t tempted to pick one at this point. There was one QB on the board that interested me, but I really hoped that a RB that I liked would be there. Portis was on my radar, and I was able to land him. Generally steady every year, I like my duo that I picked with the first two rounds.

3.08 Philip Rivers, QB, SD
Wasn’t too sure if this was too early to pick up Rivers, but I wanted a QB that would put up some points. SD has a high powered offense, so Rivers fits the bill. I thought about Rodgers in this spot, but I had Rivers placed slightly higher, hope that it doesn’t bite me in the butt.

4.07 Chad Ochocinco, WR, Cin
Hmm, I hope that I don’t regret this. I mean, he can’t continue to be an idiot can he? This guy can put up numbers, and can produce. His QB is back, and with TJ gone, he should produce this year. I really hope that he doesn’t act like an idiot this year, this pick kinda scares me, but I just think that it is worth the risk.

5.08 Dallas Clark TE, Ind
This was the first pick that I had through the queue this year, and I wanted a receiver. Wasn’t too sure who I would get, but was happy that I got Clark. I hate the Colts, and this guy seems to always make plays, and I hate him for it. But in FF, we have to put loathing aside, and look at #’s. With Harrison gone, Manning could look for him a bit more because of the comfort level. I have a feeling this could be a solid pick.

Draft position:
I had the #10 spot in the draw and wanted to stay as close to the middle of the draft as possible so the only choice I had was 10. Really wasn't another choice in my mind. The further down the draft, the more difficult to plan out picks.

1.10 Steve Slaton, RB, HOU
I wanted a 3 down back who could catch the ball out of the backfield and Slaton proved he could fit the bill last year. Houston has proven they can play in the AFC South, now they have to take the next step and win more games which equates to more carries for Slaton.

2.05 Marion Barber, RB, DAL
Barber played with injuries the last half of 2008-9. I expect him to revert back to his old running style now that the focus of the offense isn't on having to feed TO the ball. As RB2, I'm happy with the choice. He'll get the majority of the calls around the goal-line and will see the majority of carries for Dallas.

3.10 Aaron Rogers, QB, GB
With the "Top 10" WR off the board, I decided to go ahead and take a QB. In hindsight, I probably should have taken Gates, but we'll never know. The FP/G favor the QB so I'm not going to complain about having a thrower like Rogers. He's got a nice compliment of receivers and GB likes to throw the ball. A years experience will only improve upon his skillset.

4.05 Antonio Romo, QB, DAL
I went to bed with holt on the clock and Gates and Romo 1 & 2 in my queue. I'm not going into detail now, but I considered Romo a bigger plus to me than any players on the board at that time. Taking points away from someone can be helpful and there's also trade potential with either QB for the right price. The game will tell if this is a good choice or not.

5.10 Bernard Berrian, WR, MIN
Berrian's stock went up with the signing of their new QB. He has to get over a slight hamstring pull, but he's on track to be ready for the first regular season game. He's fast enough and talented enough to catch those 60 yrds bombs that new guy can throw. (They can practice on the side.)

Pick #5 - I always try and pick as high as possible because thats where the best players are.

1.05 Tomlinson
Everyone discounted him because of the awful year he had last year. Well he was injured the entire season and still finished as the #6 player last year. He is healthy this year and will return to his great fantasy status. I also considered DeAngelo Williams who ran off a nice looking 25 year TD run the night before I picked. I think he and LDT will both finish the year as top 4 running backs.

2.10 Steve Smith
I was hoping to grab one of the 8 WR I have in my top tier. When my pick came up I was deciding between Smith and Roddy White. I chose Smith despite his injury concerns. I has White last year and loved him but I am worried about a Matt Ryan sophomore slump. Although noone could be worse the Delhomme in that playoff game last year. I think Smith will have a great season and might even sneak in a return yard or two if I am lucky.

3.05 Thomas Jones
I had a 4 man queue of Pierre Thomas, Kevin Smith, and TO so of course they were the next 3 picks in line. I think Thomas was the best value of the group but I am happy with Jones. I think he showed last year that he is not dead and I think the Jets will be running quite a bit with a rookie QB. I am not worried about Washington taking carries away from Jones even though I think the Jets will try and get him the ball quite a bit.

4.10 Kurt Warner
I really wanted a QB this round with Romo and Warner available when the round started. I tried to trade up with a few people to grab Romo but I am happy that Warner fell this far. He is widely regarded as the #4 QB. There is a health concern with Warner of course but with his great receiving corps, he will be a top QB and was a steal this low.

5.05 Eddie Royal
I was between Dallas Clark and Royal on this pick. I had hoped Tony Gonzalez would fall here but it was not to be. I decided on Royal because of his return upside. Also if Marshall does not get his act together, Royal should get a few more touches. Also Denver should be in a lot of shootouts.

I chose this draft slot because 11 has two ones in it, as in 1st place and I'm #1.

1.11 Chris Johnson RB TEN

I'm still feeling awesome that Johnson dropped this far. I figured I'd be forced to take a WR but my figuring was all wrong.

1500 yds and 10 td's, only 250 carries and 43 receptions last season. 4.9 ypc. Pretty decent.

2.04 Tom Brady QB NWE

This is me thinking of last season and what might have been. I took Brady in the 1st rd in RIFC, and now here I am. Back in AAA. Brady owes me. Don't make a grown man cry.

3.11 Marshawn Lynch RB BUF

I can handle Lynch being suspended for 3 games. It's the only reason he was still available. After Lynch, there was a massive drop-off in the value of RB's available. I think any other RB would have been a reach. The WR's worthy of being taken here didn't look all that great to me. I did consider taking a TE here but then I realized that one of Witten, Gates, or Gonzalez would very likely be available at 4.04.

4.04 Antonio Gates TE SDG

Cool. I like Gates over Gonzalez because he has a lot less mileage. Gates can put up numbers equal to the WR's that were available, so why not take the TE? I'm so happy I didn't get squeezed at TE again. You know, like when you're deep in a draft and you still don't have a TE and you have to weigh undrafted against undrafted as your starter and you draft them even though you know they'll suck and you'll end up claiming a new TE every week... I can do without that.

5.11 Reggie Bush RB NOR

How much farther could he have dropped. I'm not a big fan or anything, but his first few games last year were sick. I need an RB2 to cover for Lynch's suspension, and here he was. Why not? Actually, deciding between Reggie and Fast Willie was like torture. I don't remember the exact reasoning now. The fact that I didn't have a WR yet was making it difficult to think clearly. I felt like Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now. Isolated and confused, but I had to decide.

Draft Slot:

I had the 12th choice and took the 12th slot. I could have had 13 or 14 but wanted to be more towards the middle. Plus you can predict what the bottom two drafters will be choosing, and make the first of your two picks accordingly. However, they started picking a bunch of linebackers early, and that strategy was diminished.

1.12 Larry Fitzgerald, WR, ARI

He was going earlier in other drafts. For me, it was between him and Jacobs, RB. I was hoping Jacobs would slide around the corner, but that was wishful thinking. My backup plan was to draft a top QB in the 2nd round, and that is what happened. I've always picked a RB in the 1st round, and I've always done crappy in AAA. I also don't think his numbers will dropoff that much if Warner gets injured. I predict Leinert can step in if needed and he is now ready. Cake schedule also, especially the playoff weeks, if I can make it. He has this quote....." I hear a lot of fans around the league tell me..You suck, .......but I need you to put up some numbers for my fantasy football team."

2.03 Drew Brees, QB, NO

This guy is only 6 feet tall and he's a pocket passer. I thought you had to be like 6 foot 6. Brees has been money for at least two years. Please do not change anything down there. Just duplicate last year. He doesn't seem to care who he throws to. Whoever is open on the given play. I didn't see any runners I liked here. I would have taken Gore, but he went early. I considered P. Manning, but he's on my G24 team, and Brady, the injury rehab guy. So now I have no RB's and do not pick until 3.12. As Kramer would say.......I'm out there, and I'm lovin' it.

3.12 Wes Welker, WR, NE

I have this guy in a PPR league. He's awesome. Hoping for more TD's with Brady back. He has proven to put up good numbers w/o Brady, though. Finding 3 good wide receivers to wheel out every week is difficult in this league. So, this year, I'm going to try to spend some early draft choices on good ones, and deal with RB later. I was also bidding on the twilson trade offer for slot 3.02. I wanted to trade up and get the last of the good RB's..P. Thomas or K Smith. I was unwilling to sweeten the offer and it went to mjd.

4.03 Darren McFadden, RB, OAK

Not sure about this pick. He was like the number one pick in the draft, so he must be good. Of course, it was Oakland that picked him, though. Why, he shares carries with those two other guys is beyond me. I think he was injured some last year, also. I probably should have gone with Gates here. TE looks deep this year, so I think that is why I didn't. A lot of upside with this guy. Can't expect to get Jim Brown in the 4th round, though.

5.12 Willie Parker, RB, PITT

One of the few starters left. Glad to have this guy. Hope he does the following things: 3rd down back, goal-line, back, stays healthy. remains the starter.
Not asking for too much there. FWP is not your typical Steeler, blue collar. I had nobody else in mind here, maybe one of the rookie RB's, and was glad he fell to me.

Draft position
I picked #7 because I wantred to be in the middle of the draft; other than AP and maybe Jones-Drew I felt most the rest of the top 5 or 6 RB were pretty equal and at 7 I could still get one and be better positioned for round 2.

1.07 DeAngelo Williams RB Car.
I was hoping LT would be here as this had been his average draft spot, but wasn't surprised when he wasn't.I was a bit surprised to see Williams here,as the highest scoring RB last year (20 TDs)I felt he was a bit underated.I briefly considered Steven Jackson but feel Williams has a much better team around him and a much better chance to excell.I fully expect a repeat of last year's performance (20 TDS& 1500 yds) and was extremely happy with this pick.

2.08 Greg Jennings WR GB
This is one of the few times in over 20 years and nearly 100 drafts I haven't picked RBs with my first 2 picks. I knew after last season and watching some other drafts that WRs, especially the top 10 would go pretty quick. I had Reggie Wayne targeted for this pick but he was taken a couple of picks earlier. As a life long Packer fan with Wayne gone this was a pretty easy pick. I did consider Colston and Steve Smith and even had a brief thought of Manning, but the homer pick won out. I think both he and Aaron Rodgers will continue to improve and expect great things form Jennings.

3.07 Ryan Grant RB GB
While I think th WR spot is growing in importance, there was no way I wasn't drafting my 2nd RB at this spot. Although the Packers are my favorite team, I think Grant has tremendous upside And had him ranked a bit ahead of a couple of players that were taken before him. I didn't really look at anyone else here. I like to win but have found fantasy sports to be more enjoyable if you can get a couple of guys from your favorite team to cheer for.

4.08 Roy Williams WR DAL
As much as I love my Packers I hate the Cowboys (sorry deepsnapper) but I needed another top reciever and I DO like to win; with T.O. and Jessica gone Williams should fit the bill. I had hoped for Houshmanzedah to be here but since he was gone I looked at Williams,Marshall and Braylon Edwards. Marshall has too much uncertainty,I suspect he'll miss at least a couple of games due suspension or "injury" if he gets in a snit again and Edwards plays for Cleveland...need I say more, And I expect Williams to outperform either one.

5.07 Joseph Addai RB Ind.
I was surprised/shocked ( what's she know that I don't) to see Brown taken by Judy the immediate pick before mine. I suspect by mid season one or the other of us will be looking for a trade ;-).I have heard the rumors about Brown getting more of the carries as the season goes on but I expect Addai to be the starter and although he may lose some touches later in the season I really only need him to help get me through my byes,I hope...

Simply took the highest pick left.

1.09 Steven Jackson RB STL
I am very high on SJ. Could be a HUGE pick--not to mention a great value at 9th. It appears that everything will go through Jack this seaosn. They will run him a lot and he will get plenty of balls receiving as well. He's going to be the man again. I'd have taken him a lot higher and I hope that he can help lead my team.

2.06 Reggie Wayne WR IND 08/24/09
For some reason, I thought LT fell to me here. I totally missed he went at 1.05. When he didn't I considered taking Peyton but I am just not big on taking QBs early. I've finished runner-up I htink every season in RIFC leagues but I just can't get over the hump in the final game. I'm hoping Wayne can do the trick. Wayne and Clark are the only targets who Peyton really has total confidence in and I expect Wayne will get the old Harrison-type targets in his prime. Sure there are other players listed ahead of Wayne on some sites--but I am high on Wayne.

3.09 Larry Johnson RB KAN
I think LJ will bounce back this season. I had to go RB this year and I'll admit this pick is a bit of a gamble. The KC offense paid a lot to get Cassel and they will undoubtedly pass a lot. However, besides Bowe, there really isn't alot that stands out. So, am hoping they run a little more than previously wanted. Add to the fact that KC's talent is seriously lacking and then you're wondering who is going to open up the holes and how often KC will be in passing situations--where LJ doesn't even play. Add to that Jamal Charles is up and coming and you have a risk on your hands with LJ. But his attitude is better and he's supposedly in his best shape ever. Still, it may be tough. Here's hoping.

4.06 T.J. Houshmandzadeh WR SEA
TJ was at the top of my list since my last pick--but I still took a lot of time thinking about it. There are several guys I also looked at but it all came down to the fact that I like Hass and the Seahawks schedule and I htink TJ will do well.

5.09 Patrick Willis LB SFO
Had no intention of picking an IDP this high, but no QB stood out that I wanted since I am really looking hard at Cassel and Hasselbeck. Looking at draft boards, there are several QBs listed above these two players. Also I have two WRs already and don't really want to take my 3rd one now. Am not going to take a 3rd RB here as no one really stands out and I have my starters for now. I will want to get another RB soon though for not only bye week but injruy and the KC situation. So with all that in mind I looked at all other positions and the only position where there is a player well ahead of the others at that position and not a huge reach turned out to be Willis. He will be a tthe top of the LBs in points and allow me to get the players I really want later w/o reaching. I don't think this was as much of a reach as those players I wanted are at this point.

Draft Position:
I selected the 14th slot because that was the last one left. Really. Actually, I really liked it as I could double up on my picks. I never had to choose between 2 players - I took them both.

1.14 Brandon Jacobs, NYG.
I wanted a top 10 RB unless 2 of top 3 QB were taken, then I was grabbing one. I had Jacobs at #8RB and he is from a running offense. Also, a great OL.

2.01 Randy Moss, WR, NE
I decided to save QB for later and had Moss as #1WR. I never want to draft at the end of a long run and there was a long RB run before me. The #13RB here did not appeal to me at all. Besides my son-in-law is a big Pats fan from Mass.

3.14 Ray Rice, RB, Balt
Here again a RB from running offense. Good OL. A young guy I had as #18RB picked as #23RB. I really did not look at other RB here except Leon Washington and Willie Parker. I am not sure who the goal line runner is for Balt, so later I picked McGahee as a handcuff.

4.01 Vincent Jackson, WR, SD
I had him last year, and he outperformed his ranking. I had him at #14WR, and I like their schedule playing in weak AFC West. It was him or Alex Gonzalenz, or DeShean Jackson, and I did NOT want to antagonize Judy. 5 QB's were gone and I did not like the second tier QB's here.

5.14 Jay Cutler, QB, Denver
I was hoping Schaub would be here, but I knew Cutler would not be around long. Also, I did not like the WR's or RB's available here in round 5. The RB would be a bench warmer pending an injury, and an injury to a top RB dooms your season anyway. I thought about TE, but the difference in #5TE vs #10TE is not large.

I generally like to draft 2-3 slots away from the turn, so I was originally looking at spots 3 and 4. After some research, however, I decided that there was enough of a drop-off after Peterson and MJD that it made sense to choose the 2nd pick.

1.02 Maurice Jones-Drew – RB, JAC
Jones-Drew was the top player on my draft board, though I probably would've taken AP #1 if it had come to that. MJD has been a top 7 RB in the RIFC format for all three years of his career thus far, and I expect the extra 75-100 touches he will get as the clear #1 in Jacksonville will more than make up for his loss of KR duties.

2.13 Peyton Manning – QB, IND
In my three previous years of participation in the RIFC format, I have always started my draft RB-WR-WR-RB. Regardless of draft slot, I would always be faced with the choice of a 2nd-tier RB or a stud receiver, and I chose the latter every time. With the sudden jump of WRs into the late 1st/early 2nd round, however, I feel that the value has moved elsewhere. I saw Brady, Brees, and Peyton as a clear top tier, and it will be nice to finally get a chance to own the most consistent player in all of fantasy football. I also considered Dwayne Bowe and Ronnie Brown at this spot.

3.13 Darren Sproles – RB, SD
When I looked at the board in the early 2nd round, I thought it very likely that the composition of available players in the early 3rd would not be to my liking. As a result, I began to explore trade opportunities. Once my preferences Bowe and Brown were taken at the turn and mjd's target was left untouched, I pulled the trigger. I would've made the trade anyway, as I was targeting Sproles with my 3rd round pick. Beastiemiked set the price on Sproles when he chose him at 3.14 in RIFC, and I wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to miss out. Sproles was the #15 RB last year in this format. With LDT finally starting to show his age, I expect Sproles to receive an increase in carries while still maintaining all return duties, with the outside chance that Tomlinson finally misses some games.

4.02 Jason Witten – TE, DAL
When it came time for my 4th rounder, I was again unexcited by the available options at WR or RB. As a result, I decided to take the top TE on my board. Despite being a diehard Eagles fan, I enjoyed having Witten on my team last year. Whether it was his consistent production or our (presumably) shared abhorrence of Terrell Owens, I'm not going to fight it. I thought about Gates, but his bum toe scared me away.

5.02 Santonio Holmes – WR, PIT
Given that I had never before made it past round 3 without two receivers in tow, I was in uncharted waters as my 5th choice approached. Luckily, the WRs were finally starting to look like solid values. I've been expecting Holmes to take over the role of #1 in Pittsburgh for a couple years now, so here's hoping that he builds off his playoff performances and finally steps up to that level. If not, his floor should be a repeat of last year. Ideally, he will return some punts as well. My other consideration here was Devin Hester, but I decided to wait until my next pick (which didn't turn out so well).

Draft Slot #4
I could choose 4 ,5 or any slot 8 or later. My top three rated players were Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, and Michael Turner in that order. I was hoping to get Forte with the 4th pick.

1.04 Michael Turner RB ATL
Unfortunately, Forte did not fall to me, so I chose Turner. Turner was very productive last season and I don't anticipate much of a dropoff. Last year was his first season as a starting RB, so I feel he still has a lot left and isn't a big risk. Tomlinson was my only other consideration, but I thought Tomlinson was a bigger risk because of the pounding he has taken throughout his carreer.

2.11 Roddy White WR ATL
White had 1400 yards and 8 TDs. I expect those numbers to improve as the Falcon's offense gets less conservative in Ryan's 2nd season. I also considered drafting T.O., but thought there was a better chance that T.O. would be available at 3.04 than White. None of the QB's or RB's left seemed worth picking at this spot.

3.04 Terrell Owens WR BUF
Owens wants to prove he is still a top receiver, and I expect him to do so. He has always played well and not caused problems in his first season with a new team. Owens keeps himself in great shape, so I don't think there will be a dropoff because of his age. My biggest concern will be the play of Trent Edwards who is an unproven QB.

4.11 DeSean Jackson WR PHI
I decided to pick my 3rd WR instead of a 2nd RB or 1st QB. The top QBs were already gone, and I thought a number of RBs would still be available next pick. In past seasons, I have always been week in WR, because I tended to pick my 2nd and 3rd RB too early. Last season, Jackson played great for a rookie WR. I expect his numbers to improve slightly because he has established himself as the Eagles #1 WR. I don't rank him as high as some other #1 WRs because the Eagles tend to spread the ball around more than most teams.

5.04 Matt Schaub QB HOU
Of the QBs left on the board, I thought Schaub and Cutler were on a tier above the rest. I didn't think either would be available next pick. The biggest risk is Schaub staying injury free. I like him better than Cutler because he has more weapons on offense. I still needed a 2nd RB, and was hoping that Reggie Bush or Felix Jones would still be avaiable with my next pick.
