11.12 Fred Jackson, RB, BUF

He's starting the first 3 games and I may need him while Wells and McFadden prove they are good. Not sure after that, but bye weeks start up and he may have to go.

12.03 Josh Cribbs, WR, CLE

My 4th WR and bye week fill-in. If he can catch any passes, it would be a bonus. Also, Breaston and Welker are banged up and he may be needed in week one. So far, I have one IDP and you need to start six. I hope I can find some bargains, or some that were passed over. A lot of LB"s are gone.

13.12 Danieal Manning, DB, CHI

He returns kickoffs and dabbles at defensive back. I had a short list of Farrior and Morrison and they were both snagged with four picks to go. This threw me off, and my two picks here were my worst.

14.03 LaMarr Woodley, LB, PITT

This is my #1 LB. Good luck with that. Plus he depends on sacks, which are hard to predict.

15.12 Rober Mathis, DL ,IND

One of the last useable DL's. He missed three games last year, so his 2008 stats would have been higher.

11.13 Curtis Lofton, MLB, ATL

Lofton was very impressive against the run in base defensive
packages last season and, with (undrafted) and (undrafted)
signing with other teams in free agency, Lofton is slated to
move into an every-down role this season. Lofton should make
the transition without difficulty and could be one of this
season's most improved all-around players.

12.02 Chris Henry, WR, CIN

Henry is never going to win sportsman of the year. His off-field
problems have hounded him these last two seasons and the
promising career that he had after 2006 has all but disappeared.
He posted career-low stats last year and had only one game
where he scored more than 10 fantasy points. For Henry to be
an effective fantasy WR, he'll have to prove himself all over
again. Though I don’t take preseason games very seriously, I
did see Palmer and Henry hook up on a nice catch and run for a
long TD. Plus there seems to be some sort of rift between
Palmer and Chad Diva and Palmer has been praising Henry
publicly for his excellent work ethic in the pre season.

13.13 Terrell Suggs, OLB/DE, BAL

Suggs doesn't get the fan fare of guys like Shawne Merriman,
James Harrison or Demarcus Ware but year in and year out he is
one of the most dependable 3-4 OLBs in the game. Only once
in his career has he failed to reach 8 sacks in a season. Suggs
versatility has been a key to Baltimore's defensive success over
the past several years. His ability to shift from 3-4 OLB to DE in
a 4-3 gives the coaching staff great flexibility and keeps
offenses guessing. We’ll see where MFL positions him this year,
but it won’t matter to me either way.

BTW, MFL has him listed as a DL.

14.02 Antoine Winfield, DB, MIN

Winfield is one of the best all around CB in the league and
arguably the best run defending CB. He is annually near the
league lead in tackles among DBs. In the last four full seasons
that he has played, Winfield has had more than 80 solo tackles.

15.02 Carolina Panthers, DEF

Every team now has a defense and I wanted to grab a second
one before the pickins get really thin. The pre season rift with
Julius Peppers has been rectified, as the loss of him at DE would
have been devastating. Worse case, they are an adequate bye
week fill in. Best case, they are better than expected and
become a valuable asset as trade bait, due to their early bye
week or a legitimate spot start on occasion. On paper this unit
appears capable of holding opponents yardage and scoring in
check while generating plenty of big plays.

11.01 Brett Favre, QB, Minn-Favre has burnt me before in other leagues, but that was when I chose him as mt number one QB. This time I picked him to use during Matt Ryan’s bye week, and who knows, maybe he has something left in his arm. Minn is playing GB the week that I plan to use him, and we have seen how well he can play when his emotions are involved.

12.14 Correll Buckhalter, RB, Den- I was going to pick a LB or DB at 12.14, but this pick was a function of being in the right place in the draft at the right time. Knowshon Moreno and Lamont Jordan are injured most likely making Buckhalter the starting RB so Buckhalter seemed like a good choice

13.01 Yeremiah Bell, LB, Mia- Time to stop neglecting IDPs, and Bell was the best one on my charts.

14.14 Justin Tuck, DL, NYG-I think that Tuck has the potential to put up the best fantasy numbers among DLs, and he fit in with my need to work on my defensive players. This was a little early to pick a DL, but I think he will do very well.

15.01 Nick Barnett, LB, GB-I chose Barnett to continue with my strategy of using these rounds to complete my defense.

11.06 Trent Edwards QB BUFF
I wanted to get a second QB early just for the bye week and that may prove to be a huge mistake.
Edwards had what I considered the best matchup vs a DEF in week 4 -- vs Miami. The others I
looked at were vs top DEF. However, Edwards has stunk up the joint -- although maybe with TO in
there it will be different? With any luck, Donovan will stay healthy and I will only need to use him for
the one week. If Donovan goes down, I certainly do not want Edwards as my yearlong QB...sigh. I
think next year I need to think long term QB2 and not just for the bye week...

12.09 Jason Avant WR EAGLES
Jason is my 4th WR and I find him to be a very steady player and a frequent target for McNabb. He
does not stretch the field, but he is a big kid and I am hoping that he will be used inside the 30 as a
partner with Celek for some TD’s. D Jack and Maclin are a bit small to be used that close the the
goal line. We shall see.

13.06 James Laurinaitis LB STL
It was time for another IDP and I wanted a guy who could tackle and Laurinaitis fits the bill. He is
the MLB for a crappy team and is wearing the headset so he will be directing the Defense. I expect
the STL defense to be on the field a lot and that is one of the reasons I chose him. I am hoping for
100+ solo tackles.

14.09 Lofa Tatupu LB SEA
Lofa had a good year last year at MLB on a downward trending Seattle team. I am expecting 80-90
tackles this year again as his totals have been pretty consistent the last four years. He will be inside
on the new 3- 4 defense and that should up his tackles.

15.06 Bart Scott LB NYJ
The Jets defense is poised to excel again and the LB corps will be a big part of that. He and Harris
followed Ryan from Baltimore. I had them rated equally and Harris went a lot earlier at 12.05. At
ILB, Scott is projected for around 80 tackles with a coupla sacks tossed in. Ryan is trying to make
them more aggressive. We shall wee what develops.

I now have three LB that I am pleased with.

11.14 New England Patriots, DEF
I had wanted a top DEF, and they were flying off the board. I was sweating that they would last as I had them at #7DEF and 9 were gone. I did not like the next tier. I was also looking TE, but all the ones I was looking at went in rounds 10 and 11.

12.01 Earl Bennett, WR, Chicago
I liked the fact that he worked with Cutler in college, and was probably a sleeper, but I had watched a lot of people of interest fly off the board. There really were not a lot of WR of interest here.

13.14 Chad Pennington, QB, Mia
I realized suddenly that I had no back up QB and there was not a lot of real quality left. I had him last year, and he over performed for me. He looked good in a preseason game.

14.01 Brent Celek, TE, Philly
It was round 14 and I had not stolen an Eagle from Judy all draft, so I sucked up my courage and grabbed one. I felt he was the best of the 3rd tier TE. I was looking LB, but some real good ones got picked right before here. I thought Shiancoe, but wanted a reaction from Judy and did not get it. Oh well.

15.14 Ladell Betts, RB, Wash
I wanted some bench here and he is a good RB2 for Wash. I really think that Jim Zorn is under rated for a coach, and Portis is old for a RB.

11.10 Zach Miller, TE, OAK
I wanted to fill out my base offense before concentrating on defensive player and Miller was the top TE on my board. With the WR situation in Oakland the way it is, Miller should get plenty of targets along with the RBs.

I usually use this as a throw away position unless I can get one of the top 5 (Gates, Witten, TG, Clark, or Cooley). I'll wait and see how Miller performs before deciding if he warrants a permanent spot

12.05 David Harris, LB, NYJ
My 2nd LB taken, Harris is a tackling machine for the Jets. I like him because he stays on the field for all 3 downs which is important in todays era of specialization. With HC Ryan's emphasis on pressure defense, if oould be a great year for Harris.

13.10 Dallas Cowboys,DEF, DAL
With most of the top D's going off the board, I made a pure homer call and took the Dallas defense. Wade Phillips is the Defensive Coordinator as well as HC this year and he's proven to be sucessful in the past in that role. Also the schedule favors Dallas as they play the NFC Sourth & AFC West this year, one of their easier schedules in years.

14.05 Julius Peppers, DL, CAR
With several quality LBs & DBs left on the board, I decided to take a top DL with this pick. Peppers is working under the "Franchise" tag this year and is not happy about it. He's worked in the offseason moving to LDE to take advantage of the ORT. I expect his sacks & tackles to go up if he starts shifting positions in the line and making the offense find him on every play. #94 in Dallas used this very effectively 2008 to post 20 sacks.

15.10 Quintin Mikell DB, PHI
With B**** D****** gone to ******, Mikell assumes the role as the 8th man in the box for Philly and the top tackler in the secondary. Another tackling machine.

11.08 Oshiomogho Atogwe DB, STL
To be honest, I didn’t know too much about this guy, but when I looked at the numbers that he has put up, he is a beast. The Rams have a head coach that was under Jim Johnson and upgraded the Giants D. (Undrafted) was a monster at FS for the Eagles under the same system. He should continue to put up great numbers, and I am looking forward to see what he will do under a coach like Spags.

12.07 Steve Smith WR, NYG
I wasn’t too sure where to go with this pick. I thought about picking a DL, but thought it might be early for who I wanted. RB, but didn’t see anyone that picked my interest. Smith was a guy that I had considered instead of Driver, so when he was available here, I thought I should take him. He has talent, and with the situation in NY with the receivers, there is a chance that he could become the guy th QB looks at regularly.

13.08 Kirk Morrison LB, Oak
Here again I thought about going DL, but thought I might be able to get the guy I wanted later. Thought about getting a second LB, and when Morrison was still there, I jumped on him. He tackles a lot, but doesn’t do much more than that. 90 solo tackles at least in 4 straight seasons. Didn’t notice thought that he has the same bye as E.J., but that is no problem.

14.07 Osi Umenyiora DL, NYG
Well, I went DL here. This is my second choice as IDP that was injured last year, but I believe like E.J., will have a good year coming back. Hate the Giants, so as long as he has average weeks against the Eagles, I will be ok with him.

15.08 Kyle Orton QB, Den
Here is where I had planned to take a backup QB. Orton intrigues me. He was usable last year on the Bears, so this year with McDaniels, I get the feeling that he could become much better. Plus he has a lot more weapons to throw to. One year I picked Drew Brees later in the draft in his first year in NO, and it really paid off. Could it happen again with Orton?

11.08 New York Jets Def.
With the hiring of Rex Ryan and the addition of Bart Scott,Lido Sheppard, and other defensive starters I expect the already good Jets defense to be greatly improved this year. Although their Schedule grades out as one of the more difficult this year I still think there is a very real chance for their defense to end up as a top 10 if not a top 5. I actually had Coles ahead of them in my queue, but am very happy to get them in this slot.

12.08 Ed Reed DB Bal.
Again a couple of WRs were taken out of my queue and I'm beginning to seawt about that spot. However, Ed Reed is a perrennial Pro Bowler who led his team in interceptions last year and turned 3 of them into scores, always a plus from a defensive player. The departure of Scott leaves a bit of a hole in their secondary, but as always teams will often be forced into passing against The Ravens and I expect another Pro Bowl season from Reed.

13.07 Chris Chambers WR SD

Finally a chance to address my WR needs. I haven't drafted a WR since the 4th round and am the last to get a 3rd WR, I hope my efforts to get better in defense haven't hurt my recievers too bad. Last year Chambers started the season with 5 receptions in the first 5 games; then after an ankle sprain never saw the endzone again. This year he's healthy and in a contract year (I've had luck in the past with guys in a contract year) so I hope for a return to last years early season production. Hopefully with a strong RB core if my WRs stay healthy I won't HAVE to play him often.

14.08 Kevin Boss TE NYG

Although Boss averaged only 26 yards a game last year he finished with a team high 6 recieving TDs. The Giants love him around the goal line and while I never worry too much about the TE position I think Boss should give an occasional boost to my team.

15.07 Fred Taylor RB NE.

I was kind of surprised to see Taylor still available here. It sounds like he'll share carries with Maroney and while Faulk will play on passing downs and Morris at the goal line Taylor is one injury away from from 15-20 carries a game. At this point in the draft it's all about potential and Taylor has it.

11.09 Dustin Keller TE NYJ
I had looked at TEs for awhile--knowing I didn't want to reach for them as they always seem to disappoint--and I've had some supposed great ones. I targeted a TE here only if it was Keller or Zac and possibly Carlson. Well Keller was still ehre and I think both of the others had been taken at this point. I could still wait for later but he seemed much better than the others (don't know if that is significant or not at this point) but felt I could pull the trigger and be happy aobut it. He was going great last year and is supposedly even better this year. With a rookie QB, I'm thinking he might even be an outlet valve a few times.

12.06 Johnnie Lee Higgins WR OAK
Thus far, this seems to be my biggest regret pick. At the time though he was said to be the #2 and Chaz was probably going to be out longer than first thought--maybe missing 4 games or so. With that and the fact that teams didnt' want to get burned by the rookie and Higgins returns punts--I took him. My other consideration was Burleson. I already had TJ, but love Seattle's passign game this season. Branch was right there and they had paid him a big chunk so figured he'd get his. Now I've learned that Branch may even be cut. Oh well.

13.09 Chad Greenway LB MIN
I wanted a LB here and Greenway seemed to be the BPA for what I wanted. He wasn't nec. ranked as high as some others, but I lvoe his tackles and the otehr things he brings to the table. I think Minny will be pretty good this year and he will be a part of that.

14.06 Green Bay Packers DEF GNB
Looking at different ratings and Ds were literally all over the board after the top 4 or 5. I actually was targeting the NYG but they went in the round before I was going to take them. I've waited a really long time to take a D but the Packers were the last D I was ally thinking about. Not sure how they will do, but they were better than the ones left I think.

15.09 Chris Gamble DB CAR
I think the Panthers D is underated and Gamble and Marshall are a big part of their secondary. Gamble does ok on his own but he also returns so that will be some padding onto his numbers. He wasn't ranked on many boards at all, but you can't go purely on those things--esp when it comes to IDPs.

11.04 Laveranues Coles WR CIN
Coles replaces Houshmandzadeh in Cinci, and I expect him to produce decent numbers (800-900 Yds, 6-8 TDs) for a WR4. Also considered taking a DB with this pick, but none of them stood out as being that much better than the rest in the top tier.

12.11 Lawrence Timmons LB PIT
Timmons has the potential to be one of the top LBs this season. He will be starting inside next to James Farrior now that Larry Foote is gone. He has speed, makes big plays, and has a chance to make a fair number of tackles. Still waiting to pick a DB, DL, and DEF until a later round.

13.04 Adrian Wilson DB ARI
I consider Wilson one of the top fantasy DBs in the league. I didn't think a DB at this level would be available with my next pick. Wilson makes big plays and gets a lot of tackles.

14.11 Trent Cole DL PHI
I needed a DL and thought there was a big dropoff after Cole and Tuck. Being an Eagles fan, I naturally chose Cole. He should be one of the sack leaders and get 50-60 tackles.

15.04 Washington Redskins DEF WAS
Most teams had already drafted a defense at this point, and some were going to chose a 2nd one soon. The Redskins defense was good last season, and should be stronger this year with the addition of Haynsworth.
