16.05 Tashard Choice, RB, DAL
Handcuff for Barber in the event of an injury. He's a versatile back as was seen the last 5 games of 08. He averaged 90/ypg rushing vs PIT, NYG, & BAL on b2b2b weekends going down the stretch last year. The 168 combined rush/recv yds vs PIT in Pittsburg was also a nice surprise. Hopefully I won't ever have to use him. :)

17.10 Mark Sanchez, QB, NYJ
Purely a strategy move as a backup QB. Having some interest in moving Rogers or Romo for a #1 WR, I grabbed Sanchez as a bye week QB after he was named the starter in NYC. I would have probably passed on him until 18.05, but the Jets made the announcement, so I made the pick.

18.05 Roman Harper, DB, NOR
Harper was the best DB I had projected on my board for the position. If we do a summary, I might explain, but I don't necessarily like to talk strategy with a lot of people I play with. Tends to bite you later on. lol

19.10 Jermaine Phillips DB TAM
Phillips is an interesting guy. He was a safety last year and was converted to WSLB over the summer. Tanard Jackson.'s suspension has caused the coaches to move him back to safety, so which position will he play & which one will he end up playing? Stay tuned. Reason for drafting explained in 18.05.

20.05 Tony Scheffler, TE, DEN
2nd TE. He may get a lot of Targets from Orton based upon what I saw in the game vs CHI over the weekend. Not much time to throw, of course not all the defenses he'll see rush the passer like CHI. Orton like the TE so could become a nice hookup for the season, especially if Marshall kees batting balls instead of catching them.

16.09 Jermichael Finley TE GB
I detest the TE position. With the exception of the top 4-5 -- and I refuse to waste a high pick on
one of them -- the TE position is unnecessary. Sure a guy’ll get hot and have a good game or two,
but it is so unreliable for points, esp TD’s. I had penciled in Carlson and Celek, but they went earlier
than I wanted to pick a TE and with the rest being kinda even... I actually only read about Finley
about 30 minutes before I picked him! Supposedly, Finley has “established a rapport” with Rodgers
as a check down target. We shall see.

17.06 Nate Washington WR TEN
Being a WR in the Tennessee offense can be a lonely place. However, I think Nate made a good
move coming over from PGH. I thought he was wasted in PGH as they did not use him at all unless
one of the starters was injured. He is expected to be a WR1 stretch receiver for Tenn and had 1/2 (?)
preseason game and then torn his hammie. Hammies are a real pain to rehab, especially if you
depend upon speed for your separation down the field. (That was never my problem, but I over
stretched mine into scar tissue and it is a constant ache -- gotta stretch it out every single
day...)They are not sure just how bad it is, but I expect to use him sometime this season. I think he
slipped this low due to his injury.

18.09 Chris Horton DB WASH
If you have ever watched a Redskins game, you see this kid all over the field. He’ll tackle anyone!
Depending upon your source, he is good for 69 to 99 tackles. The Skins defense is improving, but a
lot of the other team’s still guys slip to secondary where Chris will be waiting for them! he is also
pretty good at breaking up passes.

19.06 Justin Smith DL SF
DL is another position where only the top guys are good for sack stuff. I had Peppers and Allen
drafted early last year --what a disappointment. Ugh. So, I waited this year. Smith is a DL who drops
into coverage almost as a LB on third downs. So he is good for tackles -- I’ll take 50 -- and some
sacks -- 7 is a nice number. The SF defense should be on the field a lot, so he will get plenty of
chances to shine for me!

20.09 DAvid Akers K EAGLES
Everyone says “Don’t ever take a PK before the last round.” Well, if you look at the TP the K put up
over a season, it is a heck of a lot higher than a lot of the IDP’s. So that is certainly silly advice. The
Eagles will score TD’s this year so his PAT score should be fine. They continue (ugh) to have trouble
in the red zone and that is where Akers is valuable. Now, if the EAGLES start scoring in the red
zone, his FGM won’t be so high. Oh, well. I get to watch him on TV and that is a plus!

16.03 Jason Campbell, QB, WASH

I wanted Pennington, because he fit in well with my bye schedule. But, he went too early. Jason looked like the top scorer remaining. Here's to hoping he only plays one game for me.

17.12 Jeremy Shockey, TE, NO

He went 4 or more rounds earlier in other drafts. Good backup for the ticking time bomb known as Kellen Winslow. Was not real healthy last year, or any year that I can remember. Had zero TD's last year out of 600 for NO. Not sure what the deal is with that. This is not much of a compelling reason to pick him.

18.03 Thomas Davis, LB, CAR

Never heard of him. Looks like the best LB left after the vultures in this league took all the good ones.

19.12 Terrence Mcgee, DB, BUF

I picked this guy in the 6th round last year. He owes me.

20.03 Rob Bironas, K, TEN

He has a bye week that nobody else on my team has. Plus he can boot 50 yarders.

16.14 Ricky Williams, RB, Mia- 16.14 and 17.01 were supposed to be handcuff players for Peterson ans Brown, but Davepyro took Chester Taylor right before me leaving Ricky Williams as my 16th round pick.

17.01 Muhsin Muhammad, WR,Car-With Taylor gone I focused on WR and liked Muhammad as the best one remaining.

18.14 Isaac Bruce, WR, SF-In these late rounds I usually try to pick backups or fill in for a bye week. I wanted another WR and think that Bruce still has the potential for fantasy points.

19.01 Peyton Hillis, RB, Den-Correll Buckhalter is the starting RB now, but I do not know if he will be able to keep this role for the entire season. Hillis could take over, and if not he may be returning kicks.

20.14 Arizona, Def-I liked Arizona’s match up in week 10, the Giants bye week, but the way the Giants defense is playing in the preseason, Arizona might end up as my starting D.

16.07 Glen Coffee RB, SF
This was a pick that I had foreseen when I had picked Gore. I had been reading that Coffee had been impressive in camp, and was nervous that someone might snatch him up. I may have reached and pick early, but he would have gone in the next two rounds. He is a handcuff, and I feel a lot better about my first pick having him on board.

17.08 Robert Meachem WR, NO
This was a pick that I really didn’t know who to take. I had a few people in mind, and almost drafted them, just needed to push the draft player button. But I was hesitant with all of them. I am still not sure about this pick, but I wanted a WR here. This guy has talent, and I read somewhere that he could be the 3rd receiver in NO. With a pass happy offense like the Saints have, he could come out of nowhere and be valuable. Who knew about Lance Moore last year at this time and picked him?

18.07 Heath Miller TE, Pitt
I was looking backup TE, and when I saw Miller still on the board, I jumped on him. Watching Steelers games, this guy makes some big catches, and Big Ben seems to find him when he is in trouble. Good bye week/Injury replacement.

19.08 Brandon Meriweather DB, NWE
This was a surprise to me. I thought that he was already taken. Very happy about the prospect of having him on my team this year. He could have a breakout year. Like Miller, good bye week/injury replacement.

20.07 Shonn Greene RB, NYJ
First of the last five picks. I had Greene in my queue for earlier picks, but wasn’t sold on the idea of having a 3rr back on his own team. But there is always the risk of injury, and I have heard rumours about Jones, so it could work out.

16.08 Charles Woodson DB GB

Woodson and Collins are the playmakers in Green Bay's backfield and I would have been happy with either here. While Woodson was slightly behind in tackles and scores he is part of the blitz package and makes up for it in sacks.

17.07 John Abraham DL Atl.

Time to finish up my defensive starters.I origially liked Justin Tuck for this spot but he went quite a bit earlier. Abraham is the dominant defensive players on his team and one of the leagues' sack leaders (16.5 last season).Although injuries have limited him in the past he played all 16 games last year and appears to be ready to dominate again.

18.08 Joey Galloway WR NE>

Yes he is the oldest reciever in the League, but he appears to have the 3rd WR place and with Moss and Welker he should always see single coverage. Brady's return may allow him to see enough touches that he could have some very productive weeks.

19.07 LeRon McClain RB Bal.

I know he has been moved to fullback, but at the end of last year he was the teams top rusher. It's hard to believe they will totally get away from him especially near the goal line, or if Rice or McGahee are injured or ineffective. Likely he'll just be stashed on the bench on my team but I still believe you can never have too many RBs.

20.08 Austin Collie WR IND.

At this point in the draft it's basically load up your queue and hope for the best. Collie is a rookie and if you count Dallas Clark probably the 4th or 5th best reciever on the Colts, but even at that on the Manning led pass happy Colts he stands a better chance of having some value by the end of the season than many of the WRs left and likely some of those drafted before.

16.06 Brian Hartline WR MIA
Was looking at Hartline or Collie here. Who knows what Collie's role will be. AGonz was the slot the past couple years and hasn't done a lot even with all those skills. Wayne and Clark seem to have Peyton's focus so went Hartline. This rookie has opened a lot of eyes and is still flying under the radar. At the time I drafted him, he was getting some #2 reps but was still thought to be a #3 guy. But there was talk that he was so impressive that he could take the job eventually. I actually looked at him briefly earlier but he wasn't drafted in ANY other Kafenatid leagues and wasn't on ANY draft board or cheat sheet that I looked at. If he really is going to be pretty good. I don't want to take the chance of losing him for trying to be greedy. A couple days after I drafted him, he moved up to #2 on the depth chart and has a real shot to start.

17.09 Edgerrin James RB SEA
Edge looked pretty good last year. They cut the backup RB when they signed him so they ar enot going to just have him in case of injury--he's going to play. Looks like he may get goal line and even some 3rd down plays but JJ will still be the workhorse. If given the opp. this could be a very good pick and more insurance in case LJ doesn't work out.

18.06 Keith Bulluck LB TEN
I wanted a LB here and still think Bulluck can score and is a tad underated. He's had some big games in the past and I really like the Titans D.

19.09 Richard Marshall DB CAR
OK ok...So you're looking for a bye week DB and not only do you take a player who has the same bye week...but he's on the same team?!?! What are you thinking? I discounted him for that reason, but I really wanted another DB. But as I looked at the other possibilities, I kept thinking man Marshall looks so damn good. SO I went back and looked at Marshall and I just couldn't resist him. He was very good as a nickel only player. He gets a great jump on the ball. Has good hands. Makes good reads and is finally the starter. I'm gettign him. Will get a 3rd DB later in the draft or find a scrub for the bye week.

20.06 Chansi Stuckey WR NYJ
OK, I just had found out that Higgins is back to #3 receiver again. So I'm going to go with Collie. He's been dominating in college (BYU) and named possibly the 4th best rookie in camp by some hot shot NFL-know-it-all. Peyton loves him. But a funny thing happened on the way to picking up Collie...His name is this player. Stuckey is suddenly getting a lot of love and he has done well in the past. Starting for the Jets and I gotta figure that Sanchez will be throwing quite a bit. Stuckey seems to be more of a sure thing than Collie's role in Indy as mentioned before in my Hartline rationale. Garcon is also in the mix. Of course, a day or two after I make this pick, AGonz seems to be down and Collie looks to be gettign soem tiem at #2 and #3. Still Clark will line up in the slot at times too--so who knows.

16.01 Chester Taylor, RB, Minn
I really wanted a WR here, but the pick was made for me. But I was very surprised to see a quality backup still available in round 16. I am very happy with the pick. Getting Betts and Taylor here really provided me some depth.

17.14 Antonio Pierce, LB, NYG
It was time to round out my IDP and I was surprised he was still here. I wanted a MLB from a strong defensive team with a good DL. I was hoping for Tatupu, but Judy took him.

18.01 Kerry Rhodes, DB, NYJ
I think I remember he had a good year last year, and he looked good in a preseason game. I also think their new coach will bring a defensive toughness. Perhaps, I should have researched DB a lot more.

19.14 Danny Ware, RB, NYG
I probably did not need a RB here, but I wanted to handcuff my first round pick. I did the research way too quickly. I wish I had just taken some more time.

20.1 Javon Walker, WR, Oakland
I was looking for WR depth and thought this was a lucky pick to find a starting WR with an easy schedule. I heard he was having a good training camp.

16.02 Jake Delhomme, QB, CAR

Jake signed a big contract extension during the offseason --
he's firmly in the driver's seat in Carolina. He came back from a
2007 Tommy John elbow surgery to toss 246/414 for 3,288
yards, 15 TDs and 12 interceptions last season. His numbers
landed him at No. 19 among all fantasy QBs, in the middle of
fantasy QB2 range. He threw for more than 250 yards in four of
his 17 games last year (he was within six yards of the 300 mark
on two of those occasions). Delhomme should easily post
similar numbers during 2009, although he is no longer a top
fantasy QB due to scheme. The Panthers love to grind out the
game with their running backs, limiting Delhomme's ceiling as a
passer -- he's had less than 450 passing attempts in each of
his last four seasons.
17.13 Mark Clayton, WR, BALT
Mark Clayton faces an important test in 2009. Clayton
experienced early success with 939 yards and five touchdowns
in just his second NFL season. His third year was expected to
be a breakout campaign, but an ankle injury derailed that before
it ever really began. So in 2008, most expected that THAT would
be the year he would really break out and establish himself as a
top-flight option. While he did turn in a solid campaign, he
didn't really come close to a breakout performance. This year
should really tell us a lot going forward about what to expect
from Clayton. Is he a budding superstar, waiting for his
opportunity to shine? Or is he a good, not great, receiver who
will simply be bye week filler? I’m hoping for the former.
18.02 Justin Durant, LB, JAC
The team appears to have made a move in the middle, as Justin
Durant should be their opening day starter there, and
(undrafted) swings back outside. (undrafted), while a consistent
and reliable sort, has never quite lived up to his expectations
when the team drafted him in the second round. Durant, a
second round pick out of Hampton, meanwhile was on the field
less than (undrafted) and still put up similar numbers.
Somewhat a sleeper pick, Durant could live up to expectations
and get regular play, or become WW fodder for another option.
19.13 Troy Polamalu, DB, PIT
Polamalu was a top 10 DB in consecutive seasons starting in '04
and was on pace to make it three in a row when injury struck in
'06 causing him to miss 3 games. After fighting the injury bug
for two seasons he returned to the top 15 last year on the
strength of a career best 7 interceptions. The one thing lacking
from his fantasy potential is strong tackle production. Polamalu
has posted more than 66 solo stops just once in his career and
managed a pedestrian 54 in '08. With a front seven the likes of
that in Pittsburgh, he's not going to find himself in a target rich
environment, but will make the big play when the opportunity
presents itself.
20.02 Jerome Harrison, RB, CLE
Cleveland has a lot of competition for carries this season. As
Jamal Lewis winds down, Jerome Harrison will compete with a
host of others to take over the bulk of the work. Bit of a sleeper
pick here, but he has improved over his first three years. Can
never have too many RB in the RIFC leagues.

16.11 Kevin Curtis WR PHI
At this point in the draft, I planned take WR5, RB4, QB2, IDP6, and IDP7 with the next 5 picks. K could wait until one of the final rounds. I expect Curtis to be the 2nd WR for the Eagles and get about 800 yards and 6 TDs. Capable of filling in if one of my other WRs get hurt.

17.04 Joe Flacco QB BAL
I wanted a QB2 who probably wouldn't lose his job and Flacco fit this description. He could fill in and get me some points if Schaub got injured. I didn't think he would be available next round, and there were no other QBs I liked.

18.11 Michael Bush RB OAK
Bush will be in the RB mix for the Raiders. It looks like Fargus has some injury problems, so McFadden and Bush should share RB duties in an offense the will run a good percentage of their plays.

19.04 Michael Lewis DB SFO
Lewis was one of my favorite players when he played for the Eagles. He is still playing at a high level, and should get plenty of tackles.

20.11 Antonio Cromartie DB SDG
Cromartie will get about 60 tackles, and makes plenty of big plays when healthy. An early season hip injury that he played through hurt his numbers last season.
