You know what to do.

19.07 – Jermichael Finley, TE, GB

I really like what I’ve seen and heard about him this preseason. So much so that I overlooked that he has the same bye as Gates. I’m hoping that he will start strong and can be a piece of a good trade.

20.08 – Nate Kaeding, PK, SD

I usually get my kicker when I’ve gotten all the sleepers I’ll be bummed about not getting. I’ve hit that point, and my top PK is still on the board, so I’m taking him. I’m hoping this will induce a PK run that will allow me to pick the next 2 rounds from my remaining top guys.

21.07 – Redskins defense, WAS

Well, so much for the kicker run. Doesn’t matter though as I need to take some defenses. Everyone else took their first defense in round 14, so why did I wait so long? Because bluntly, I don’t think team defensive scoring in this format is predictable enough to warrant a selection before anything else. I took Washington because they play St. Louis in week 2 and Detroit in week 3. They also play the AFC West’s bad offenses during the season, with San Diego a week 17 matchup that doesn’t apply to this league. They have as much opportunity to play well as anyone else, and I was able to get the other players I wanted while 18 other defenses went off the board.

22.08 – Cadillac Williams, RB, TB

I was all set to take Roman Harper to fill out my starting lineup, but I couldn’t pass up getting Cadillac in round 22. The coaches have stated a 2/2/1 split for Ward, Caddy, and Graham. So I’ve got 4/5 of this, but split amongst 2 runners. That’s probably not a prescription for success, so I have to hope that this clears up quickly. The optimist in me says this should be settled by week 4 so that one of these guys can start for me once Fred Jackson’s opportunity window has closed.

23.07 – Bills Defense, DT, BUF

Best defense left on my board, and a nice home matchup with Houston on the ‘Skins bye week. Not much else positive to say but as I said before, I can’t predict defensive performance for squat.

24.08 – Roman Harper, DB, NO

I would normally never let DB slide this far, but this year the DB position is an absolute mess beyond the top 2 guys, who went earlier than I anticipated. Harper was ranked third on my draft sheet and has done great for me in the past. Plus, since we only have to start 1 it’s easy to fill this spot week-to-week if he falters for some reason.

19.12 Antonio Pierce, LB, NYG
This is another one of my favorite kinds of linebackers, tackling machines. Another 100 tackle year should be in the works, and as a backup for my team he should produced well in the bye weeks. Should any one of my starters go down he's an outstanding fill-in. Are you all going to let me have every IDP I want?

20.03 Patrick Kerney, DL, SEA
This is one of the guys I looked at in round 13. I let him sit in my queue until I needed to draft a backup. He's not exactly the pillar of health, but he's only had 2 unhealthy seasons (both in the last 3 years...) Last year in only 7 games he had already racked up 5 sacks, 2 FFs and 22 tackles. If you extrapolate that to a full season, you're looking at a potential pro-bowl season. Now he's moved from RE to LE and he should see his numbers stay pretty consistant.

21.12 Anthony Fasano, TE, MIA
Chad Pennington has a penchant for throwing short, high percentage passes. That usually means the TE sees quite a few passes. As a backup last year Fasano caught 35 balls, and I think that number could go up as high as 60 this year. He also saw 11 looks in the red zone last year, which was most for Miami, so hopefully his TD production will increase.

22.03 Robbie Gould, K, CHI
Kickers were starting to go. I wanted one who would be on a team that had a decent offense and who would be in the redzone quite a bit. Here's hoping Gould continues his great career.

23.12 Mark Bradley, WR, KC
He was recently named their #1 WR and while I think Dwayne Bowe is obviously their best WR, KC has cut an undrafted player who I thought would be their #2. This may be a total bust pick, but in the 23rd round why not?

24.03 Jacksonville Jaguars, DEF, JAX
They play Seattle who has a weak offense in week 5. This is San Diego's bye week.. Need more? (It's the 24th round for godsake. Who cares why I picked them, they'll be on the FA wire after week 5.)

19.09 Davone Bess, WR, MIA

With all three of my first string WR having the same bye, I made the conscious decision to try to find replacements in the draft. Bess should be the #2 WR in Miami and is one of the favorite targets for Pennington. Not a flashy player but should get *some* points every week.

20.06 Dhani Jones, LB, CIN

I needed a backup linebacker and Jones stuck out to me. He had a good year last year, and I enjoyed his show on the Travel Channel, so I figured why the heck not.

21.09 Mason Crosby, K, GB

Kickers are very hard to predict because the top half of them are all about the same skill level and its all about how many opportunities they get. Crosby is in a high scoring offense and he has a long leg so I took him.

22.06 Arizona Cardinals, DEF

I really really wanted the Colts D here, but alas they have the same bye as the Dolphins, so that was out. The Cards are no great shakes, but they will play a plethora of bad offenses so I figure they should score just from sacks and turnovers. They play Seattle during the 'phins bye so that should be OK.

23.09 Shaun Rogers, DL, CLE

Just a backup DL. At this point the players are replacable if they dont score well.

24.06 Robert Meachem, WR, NO

I needed to take a flier on a WR here to have a full set of backups. Hopefully he will get his shot as the #2 or #3 WR in a high octane offense and well engrained by week 8. If not, I can find someone else.

19.13, Alphonso Smith, DB, DEN - Read in the Rocky Mountain News that he was slated to be Denver’s starting KR & PR. Pure “buy the rumor, sell the news” move. If he does get that gig…hes 2-3 tackles plus the 5+ ppg he’ll get on special teams. Solid value in the 19th round.

20.12, Aaron Curry, LB, SEA - Needed some LB depth now that AJ Hawk isn’t going to be an every-down LB. Curry was a playmaker the minute he stepped on the field at Wake Forest and most scouts expect him to have a similar impact on defense. He was everywhere in the preseason and I can only hope that he continues that trend in the regular season.

21.03, Kerry Collins, QB, TEN - Backup QB for the one week I actually bench Peyton.

22.12, Chris Long, DL, STL - As Beezer mentioned in earlier analysis about Mario Williams, you want a solid DL with a high floor and a late bye (week 9). While he might not have the freakish athleticism of Super Mario, I hope he is able to be Luigi to Mario’s performance as he’s in a system that pressures the quarterback (Spags).

23.03, Adam Vinatieri, K, IND - While the bye week (6) is earlier than what I would have wanted…beggars can’t be choosers as I waited too long to take a kicker. He gives me value as he is in a high octane offense & will have perfect/near-perfect kicking conditions at least 11 weeks of the season.

24.12, Kevin Jones, RB, CHI - Backup to Forte. Yea…that worked out pretty well!
