1. What was your plan entering the draft? Were you able to execute it as you had hoped?

Plan???? Actually I was slow to RB's last year and vowed not to let that happen again. It worked well since I drafted 8th which is higher than normal for me. I got C. Johnson and Portis in the first two and was able to play fill in the needs after that.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

I liked Addai at 6-07 I know he's not the first round pick of the past but even sharing time he's better than that. The do overs will come to mind when they start getting hurt and/or under performing.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

ArtOfTheMonk has good balance and AP. Also I like Taxman's team, again good balance.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

Big difference of opinions on RB's. A lot went earlier or later than I expected. I know kick return value bumped lots of them(Leon Washington - round 3).

5. If you could start over, what would you differently?

My only concern is my WR's. I was a little slow to pull the trigger in that area and have concerns. I may need trade and/or waiver wire help in that area later.

1. Plan?? The 1st pick was obvious and I wanted to get some solid WR. I was able to execute it, but in the middle of draft I got busy and make some mistakes.
2. Pierre Thomas could be huge, I also like A. Gonzales and E. Royal. Later picks Earl Bennett he played college ball with Cutler. Earnest Graham could also be a huge steal in the 12th.
worst pick by far was Josh Wilson, I put him on my que so I wouldn't forget about him and he made it to the top, hopefully he will still rtn kicks, but way too early. I wish I would have got a better qb and TE.
3. I like VP and Druss.
4. I was surprised I took a K in the 14th rd, but I just didn't know where else to go at that point.
5. I would have done more research on IDP. I haven't done a draft with them for quite some time. I do like my team, but a lot of the season comes down to luck. I bought into the hype on Pierre Thomas and NO offense. He could be a top 10 RB or he could completly suck.

(1)What was your plan entering the draft? Were you able to execute it as you had hoped?

I have seemingly missed RIBC playoffs too often due to lack of quality RBs, injuries (last yr at QB) and no K/P return points. This year my plan was centered @ RB quality and depth, a top 5 QB, a reliable QB back up, a slew of 2nd/3rd tier WRs and a K/P return guy. Goal accomplished (on Paper). Came away early with LT, Ronnie Williams and Aaaron Rogers, later (15th) grabbing Delhomme as a backup QB. Found good RB value midway through draft with Chris Wells (Ariz) and Julius Jones as 7th and 9th round picks. Receivers exceeded my expectation with DeSean Jackson, Gates and Ward and got the return guy(S), DB Alphonso Smith and WR Miles Austin.

Thought my execution went better than planned except for early deviation to draft Pit D.

(2) What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Favorite picks?

(2nd) Aaron Rodgers, (5th) Antonio Gates and (7th) Chris Wells and (13th) Alphonso SMith.

Do over:
#8: Pittsburgh Steelers Team Defense (was several rounds early)

(3) Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

No particular order, but all s/b in playoffs: Coldwater (maybe best fantasy drafter yr in, yr out, no matter the sport), Toral, Motley Crue and Art of Monk

(4) What surprised you most about the draft?

Number of WR coming off the board in first three rounds. I was one of three managers (Coldwater and Footwedge) with ZERO WR in first three rounds. This may be the result of NFL trends towards RB by committee and the increase of WRs that can produce level weekly as used to be the domain of only RBs and five or so WRs

(5.) If you could start over, what would you differently?

Not much. I would take a Team D later (although Pit can put up RB type points). I Traded IDP studs for depth at RB and late WR picks. We will see how the theory stands up.

1. What was your plan entering the draft? Were you able to execute it as you had hoped?

Drafting twelfth, I wanted a top RB with my first pick and either another RB or a top 4 WR in the second round. I expected to pick 2/3 WRs and 1/2 RBs in the next 4 picks, varying to pick up a top QB or TE should one fall below where I thought he should be. After picking up a QB, I planned to start at about rounds 10/11 to take an IDP or TeamD with one out of every two picks so as not to be without quality on D. I select my IDPs so that there is no bye week overlap.

I wanted to be aware of the irregular bye schedule, with a crush of week 7 and 8 byes.

I was able to execute all right with one strange interlude. I was hoping to get Matt Schaub in the 5th round but was disappointed when Motley Crue took him at 5.09. That meant waiting for a QB. Heading down in round 7, my top 3 ranked QBs all had a week 7 bye. My 4th choice, Eli Manning, was a week 10 bye. For some reason I was concerned that drussell, drafting after me, might take 2 QBs back-to-back, something I sometimes do when stuck with a late QB. I was pretty sure that he wouldn't take two week-7 bye QBs, though, so I took Manning, hoping to ensure that I'd get one of my higher ranked QBs later. It worked out all right when David Gerrard was available in the 9th round. So I ended up intentionally selecting my backup QB before my starter (although matchups can be played with these two).

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Favourites:

2.03 Brian Westbrook
5.12 Darren Sproules (RIFC CDA "Steal")
11.12 Domenic Hixon (RIFC CDA "Steal")
16.03 Kyle Orton (RIFC CDA "Steal")
24.03 Mason Crosby

Do-Overs

10.03 Kirk Morrison -- shoulda varied from plan and taken Josh Cribbs

I wanted Westbrook's backup like all his owners do but he went early so I don't have him --yet.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I like the teams of ArtofMonk, Taxman and coldwatercoyotes.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

Three and Out's early selection of IDPs, and picking 3 DLs. VP's picking 9 IDPs including 3 DLs. 4 other managers picked 2 DLs.

5. If you could start over, what would you differently?

Refine my identification of, projections for, and assessment of when to pick KRs. I still don't have any KRs as having gone way below where they should have but I could be wrong.

1. What was your plan entering the draft? Were you able to execute it as you had hoped?

My plan is normally 2RBs in the first 2 rounds. Then add best available players on offense (wr, rb, te, qb) over the next 8 rounds or so. I usually want to hold off on QB as long as I possibly can and then start adding IDPs around the 10th round and adding one every other pick.

Obviously that whole plan flew out the window. I took Brees in round 2 because I thought he was a better play than any of the RBs remaining at the time. I don't think I've ever went with a QB early in RIFC so we'll see how that goes.

I did manage to pull Ryan Grant a round later so I felt like with a little RB depth I would be ok. Then I made the mistake of drafting Brandon Marshall. My real concern at the time was his hip. I knew he would be a headcase but I never expected him to blow up like he did. That led to me having to pick up multiple late round WRs and ended up taking a bite out of my needed RB depth.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Williams at 1.11 (went either 6th or 7th in the other RIFC leagues).

Heyward Bey at 22.04. The upside of a starting WR playing with a QB with a big arm in an offense playing from behind all the time. And like I said, I needed some WR depth.

Dustin Keller at 15.11. I needed a good TE2 in case I need to play him in the WR/TE slot.

Regret-Brandon Marshall 4.04- He was by far the best available guy on my list and the only "stud" left IMO. That was before he started knocking down passes at practice.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

Coldwater, taxman

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

More a surprise about the NFL then the draft, but the value of RBs seems to have declined. So many RBs by committee that there are more options than there used to be and more guys with uncertain roles.
Also with regard to Toral's statement about how many guys went with 2 DLs. I had a DL bust a couple of years ago and struggled all year to come up with a reasonable replacement off the waiver wire. So that's my reason for carrying 2 DLs.

5. If you could start over, what would you differently?

I probably wouldn't have taken Brees so high. It may have been the right choice but I'm going to be fretting over it all season.
Also, the Brandon Marshall pick in round 4 could prove to be the biggest bust of the draft.
