Subject: Season VI redraft?

I'm throwing out for discussion the possibility of re-drafting for Season VI. While trends come and go and wrestlers' storylines increase and decrease, let's face it we have a core of teams that have been competitive and some that could never dig out from the grave.
It might be best for everyone, and rekindle some of the original excitement. Without a doubt a re-draft would be a blast........for everyone except wiggs ;-)
I could appreciate wiggs maybe feeling singled out - but the proposal is not intended to do that. It's not his fault that he made good trades and had good drafts that created sufficient value for him to trade for his stable of studs. The suggestion to re-draft isn't anti-wiggs, it's more one of re-energizing the whole league.
Obviously this does NOT have any bearing on Season V, so people's trades and keepers and whatnot to position themselves for the next draft would not be affected.
Just a thought. It would be a blast to recreate a team all over again. |

I'm always in favor of a redraft. Always.

As you know, I am totally against this, but that was a given :)

I guess it isn't that much of a surprise that I don't care for the idea, either. But I like the league and I like this particular group, so I'll go with whatever is decided.

as much as i'd like to see the Wiggs Empire collapse I'm against a redraft at this point. I'd feel a lot better about beating wiggs if I fixed my team instead of taking apart his.

Per GO's email:
GO says... I would do a redraft in VI but I think another idea to shake things up entirely AND not completely screw Wiggs would be you draft where you finish next season. You finish 1st - you just earned the number 1 pick. Would certainly make everyone move their chips to the center of the table next season and step it up. That would still redistribute the talent evenly - the top 40 guys or so… while also rewarding a good season with a top pick (the reward currently is you keep your team intact minus top scorer). And lord knows I am destined to finish 8th again, but I still think its fair and I think it would improve my team because instead of one guy having 8 producers and another having 4 - they will both have 6 or so wrestlers of equal caliber.
Honestly - the way things are laid out with Wigg's roster anyway, I don't think he will run away from us next season… I see some other squads that things have aligned very nicely for next year like Mike D and Tree and I love MITH's Christian/Shelton duo he is building around…
I think we tentatively agreed that the trade deadline would be the last PPV of the year before Wrestlemania… so roughly a month before.

I'm against GO's proposal if I am reading it right.
I have no interest in giving the #1 pick to the #1 team. That's just nuts.

farn, I think he is saying that the winner of the league deserves the number 1 pick if we do an entire new draft. If that is the case i totally agree. I dont think we need to do a redraft, because things seem to be working out pretty good the way they are, but if it happens it happens.

What I believe GO is saying is that the 1st place finisher would get the first pick (and so on) in the event of a redraft.

oh ok, that makes sense.
well if we redraft i think that's almost a must. gotta reward the winner..err..wiggs somehow.
but i still favor no redraft.

GO, If you do that, then I guess that means I can't abstain. Will vote against it.
Rather see if I can't guess right and build something here.

well thats 5 already I think that are against... so it doesn't really even matter at this point.
while people are checking in can we get a quick vote a proposal of stipulation bonus?
10 Point Bonus Hell in a Cell Elimination Chamber Ironman Cage Match Ladder/Tables Match TLC
the big ones... thats the simple proposal. we don't worry about scaling of the bonus or all the random mud matches or armwrestling contests or whatever... just the ones that matter. if there is a big one I am missing add it in please. If voting yes - vote to start now or at the beginning of next season. Thanks.
I vote yes obviously. Starting now.

i fought no - in most cases, these matches will be TV or PPV Main Events.
we will be awarding double points if we give more points for stips...

isn't TLC and Ladders/Tables the same basically?
Either way, I'm with Tree. It would just be overkill.

I didn't intend to put a redraft to a vote -- merely for discussion. Consider it tabled.
GO then put forth a vote on stipulation matches. I vote yes. I'm not sure kev voted no on stipulation points, it seems like he's voting against re-draft.
Please be sure to clarify what you're voting for. There was no vote put up for redraft.

For what it's worth, I vote NO for the redraft and NO on the stipulation points issue.
