man. imagine if i actually had 6 guys scoring points for me instead of four...

I hear ya Tree.
I just don't understand why people with dead spots don't pick up guys who score points every week. Guys like Coach. Or Lillian. Or 2Hotty. Or heck, pick up Sharmelle. She scores every week and she even has a match next Thursday. That's at least 15 points. And you know she'll get at least 4 more backstage when they show her being scared.
If you have a dead spot pick up people who score. Stop sitting at the bottom of the standings and saying "my team sucks". (this isn't directed at Tree who is off to a good start)

For me, the reason is my current high waiver priority and the hope that I will get a chance to take advantage of it on someone more impactful than valets, low carders and the like.

Farn Sustainer
ID: 451044109 Fri, May 27, 2005, 11:45
Ok, I had forgotten about that.
I wish we could come up with a system for silent claims. That way people could improve their roster by picking up these bottom feeders and still keep their priority spot.
Nobody is computer savy enough to make a script to put in claims on kinda like Yahoo has? Have it set to finalize a claim in 24hrs and appear for people to see?

I'm fine with it this way. If a few weeks go by and no one comes up I'll probably go with a bottom feeder, especially if Wiggs is still ahead of me in the #1 spot. Its a matter weighing the value of the available bottom feeders vs the liklihood and potential of someone more valuable coming along. If I wait on Melina or Sharmel for 4 more weeks, I'll miss out on maybe 20 - 50 points in that time. In my opinion that's a reasonable sacrifice for the chance that another Gene Snitsky comes up.

I hear you MITH. With all the buzz surrounding the new Edge/Lita angle and the calls for the WWE to bring Hardy back, at what point do you piss away a high waiver priority on the off chance they bring Hardy back? It would be a big payoff if it happens, but some report I read said Hardy is booked through July in various shows, but the longer these rumors stay around the more of us would start to buy into them, and then all hell breaks loose, waiver-wise.

I don't think its very likely that Hardy will be with WWE in the near future. He's someone who comes off as pretty principled and we know that he feels he has been seriously f'd over by them. Maybe it would be different if he was desperate but as you say he looks to have a number of things in the works.
From the WWE standpoint they're already able to generate plenty of real heat from the fans for Lita and Edge without having to bring Matt into the mix. I'm sure they see the potential draw for an Edge/Hardy feud at this point but they must also see a notable risk in reintroducing Hardy, who might feel burned enough to try to enact real revenge on his former close friend.
I think the only likely way for Matt to return is if the whole thing turns out to be a work, which I highly doubt but wouldn't be beyond what Vince is capable of, even if it is further than he has taken any work that I know of. In fact, it would be quite brilliant. But I'm pretty sure that it isn't one because keeping Kane in the mix as Lita's husband for this long would be pretty pointless if the plan all along was to bring back Matt to feud with Edge.

i'm lucky my team is doing as well as it is, but as for dead spots, i view the season as a marathon, not a sprint. i feel confident that'll get points for the Dudleys of the world soon enough.
as for matt hardy - i dunno if you'll see him back. apparently, he's invested his money quite well, and saved quite a bit, and doesn't "need" the WWE money anymore.
he's getting top dollar for indy appearances, he's already signed for work with TNA that appears to be getting a monday night deal with WGN, and he seems excited to do so.
at a recent indy show where he made an appearance, someone yelled out "Ring of Honor baby!" and Hardy responded with "50 more days, and i'm in!" which is a literally "counting the days" until he wrestles for ROH, which to me indicates he's excited.
