I thought we didnt give an extra 5 points to people who were already in a match that had a promo right after, unless they atleast talked. I can think of numerous times someone finished a match and someone came out to challenge, the person who just wrestled didnt get 5 more points. Can someone confirm these points?
I always give promo points after a match to people involved.

Well I don't know about past regular scoring techniques, but it just seems like common sense that they should get extra points if something else goes on that had nothing to do with the match. Alas, I think the scoring system is a bit stingy as it is, though.
I seem to remember times when wrestler A just won a match and wrestler B came out to the ramp and said something like "You may have beat that guy, but you are nothing til you beat me next week" or something like that. The guy on the mic gets points, but the guy who finished the match doesnt get any extra points.
OR
Match ends and someone interferes with the match or the end of the match- the person in the match does not get the extra 5 points.
if someone interferes only that person gets the extra points.
If someone comes out on the ramp and says "you can't beat me" and immediately walks back to the dressing room only he would get the 5 points.
But if someone comes into the ring and says, "You're a piece of trash; You think you can beat me? I will mop the ring with you. Don't give me that funny look you moron. I should knock your head off right now." I would say that involves a nice lengthy promo involving numerous people and people should be getting 5 points each. Of course Regal and Cena would get points anyway. They both spoke. But if Cena comes into the ring, directly speaks to both HHH and JBL for minutes on end, eliciting reactions from both, they are clearly part of the promo and should get 5. And if you watch closely you can see JBL talking to Cena and screaming at Regal during the promo. He just doesn't have a mic.
I'll gladly hear opinions from others but this one seems pretty clear cut.

It did feel like a seperate segment to the show than the match to me. I'm not sure how to quantify that.
