American Wolves vs. Hardys vs. Dudley in NYC on TNA tonight... should be pretty good. Perfect thing to watch while doing a mock draft.

GO can you explain to me why I am picking 1 then 4 the rest of the way? I won the lottery and finished the regular season 7th. Shouldnt I be 1 or 2?
5

I've always done it reverse order of playoff finish. Except for the lottery first round that gets shuffled.

I think thats something to look into. you are better off bombing the playoffs intentionally to get better picks. who cares if u finish 5 or 7 when u improve ur draft position for the next year. for example farn finished ahead of me lost in the playoffs. he still earned 2 over all and picks 2nd all draft. hes definitely in a better spot then me winning the toilet bowl and getting 1 and then straight 4s. not sure the best way to do it but the whole lottery thing was to keep teams from punting the season. now we can just punt the playoffs
7
GO
ID: 065299 Thu, Aug 28, 2014, 10:01
But if you punt the playoffs you have 0 chance at a top 3 pick and that's where all the value is. Once you miss out on those first couple studs its all mid-carders, divas and tag team guys.
And obviously Rude has the worst team - so he needs that bit of extra help in the subsequent rounds to get that additional depth.
8
wiggs
ID: 30714512 Thu, Aug 28, 2014, 10:44
rudes team is the worst team because he punted. he has 5 picks in the 1st 23 picks. that was his choice to punt which is fine if that's what he wants to do
9
Greg Rude
ID: 272352420 Thu, Aug 28, 2014, 20:03
Maybe going forward we should consider the Lotto winner gets the 1st pick in the 1st and 2nd round, then sort the rest of the draft by playoff finish?

RJ

I like the current system as is.
11
GO
ID: 065299 Fri, Aug 29, 2014, 12:18
I do as well. I think it provides a balance of earning the top pick on the one side for a bottom squad via the playoff showdown - but the subsequent rounds provide help in order of the worst current teams getting the first pick and so on.
If you unload everyone as Rude did leaving yourself with the worst team, he gave up his shot at a Top 3 guy. I think that's penalty enough.
In the old days he would have finished dead last and would have just gotten the top pick each round including the #1 overall. I think that's what we have protected against.

I guess what I am saying is that there is really no reason to even try to win the toilet bowl. Yea you get my lottery balls, but there is a chance you dont get that. Just look at farn- he jumped up and took the 2 pick.
I dont really know if you get top 5 pick how much it really changes in the 1st round, but i think 3 picks up in all the following rounds does change things. Pretty sure from now on if I am not in the championship round I will punt the playoffs.

I feel complete opposite, I feel after the first couple picks of the first round you fall off a cliff to midcarders rest of the first round. Thats where the real value you is. You gotta get that stud.
I could care less where subsequent rounds are. Does it matter which Uso I wind up with? or which Diva? I want Cena or Reigns or a healthy Daniel Bryan. I don't want Kane or The Miz as my first pick.

RJ

Yeah I think it's a real edge to get a guaranteed top 3 pick and (best chance at #1). After the top 4-5 there's generally a big drop off in talent level.

i'm not watching,but i heard rumors of a Sami Zayn sighting..true?
To be safe, I guess if its revealed to be Christian later then I retain Fox?
Question though, do I get points as long as it stays the bunny? Or would they retroactively go Nailer as owner of Christian? Could reak havoc on standings and playoffs if it drags on. Not to mention that Christian is his prospect.
20
GO
ID: 344132921 Mon, Sep 08, 2014, 23:57
we made this rule, not sure if it can be applied here until we know who the bunny is but I don't think we'll be rewarding retro active points to anybody... cause we have no idea how many times a particular wrestler played the role of the bunny.
When there is debate about wrestler identity we will default to award points to the real person - not the character i.e. Hunico would earn Sin Cara points end of 2013.
I think if its revealed to be Christian thats fine... and on that night Christian would get the points. Doesn't mean the next week there still isn't another bunny and then also Christian.
I read somewhere today the plan was to reveal Darren Young as the bunny after a few more interference appearances but that may change.

Anyone in the Philly area Sat 11/15/14, I'm buying tix for House of Hardcore tomorrow. Let me know if you would like a ticket.
So Reigns was in the hospital. Rollins had them raise his hand and declared winner by forfeit.
How the heck do we want to score that? Reigns gets DQ lose and PPV match points? I think i have to give Rollins the "win"
25
RJ
ID: 44111015 Wed, Sep 24, 2014, 11:46
Yeah it's a good chance to hammer out forfeit scoring since it happens a few times a year. I'm cool with whatever- a win makes sense.

I'd think it's 30/15. It's not a count out or DQ. Bell never rang. But he was declared the winner of a match.
That said I'm totally fine with 18/10 for this and going forward.
28
Greg Rude
ID: 272352420 Wed, Sep 24, 2014, 17:22
They bothered to ring the bell and raise his hand. Does WWE still post official results on website? Is it listed? I'm good with Rollins count out win, Reigns count out loss. (+PPV for story line buildup)

RJ

18/10 (+ppv) is ok with me too. It's only going to happen once in a great while. I'd say file it in with dq/count out/forfeit
30
Farn on phone

Does Rollins get the 12 too? I'd assume Reigns doesn't because he didn't appear.

Rollins count out/forfeit points, +12 for ppv showing. Bell was rang though it was a gimmick win.
Zero points for Reigns since he wasn't there at all. Imo, you have to be match present in some form not just be listed on the card (we all knew he was in the hospital). In fantasy football, you don't get points for being on the roster.
If he was walking to the ring and got cold-cocked before entering and they rang the bell while he was laid out...then he'd get c/o loss points.
I think you should give Rollins DQ win points and his PPV bonus, and since if there is a winner there has to be a loser and think Reigns should get DQ loss points but NO PPV bonus points seeing as he was not actually on the PPV in body.

My executive decision based on everyone's input is to go with Zyre's suggestion exactly as written as he kind of sums up where most were headed.
So we'll lump in a forfeit win with DQ/Countout/Forfeit and 18/10. Both sides will get it since we need a winner and loser.
And I also agree in order to get those 12 PPV bonus points... you need to actually appear live on the PPV in some capacity. Even if its arriving in the limo and you get jumped I'm fine with that. You were part of "the show" and the PPV story of the forfeit. You need to be live at the show to get the PPV bonus.

VOTE Do we want Rounds 2-6 of the draft to be in the order of playoff finish or regular season finish for those in the Fatal Four Toilet Bowl? Meaning if you win the bottom 4 contest do you automatically get #1 pick all rounds (after a 1st round lottery)?
Currently I make the order the order we finish the regular season with the losers bracket winner getting most lottery shots in round 1, and then pick 4th each subsequent round.
Final Four finishers will always pick reverse order of playoff finish so that is irrelevant to this vote. Champion will pick last etc.
38

A) Regular Season finish order for rounds 2-6 B) Playoff finish - Toilet bowl winner gets most lottery balls AND #1 pick each subsequent round

Yeah, we need a 5-3 before making any moves.
As we have now is basically NBA style except you get more lottery balls for competing and being the best of the worst. Our best 4 teams draft reverse order of playoff finish all rounds - win the Super Bowl, you pick last all rounds. Winner of Toilet Bowl gets most lottery balls used to determine 1st 3 picks. Reverse order or regular standings used for all subsequent rounds.

Firstly, I appreciate all that you guys do (GO/Farn/etc) ... but do we not keep an overall individual scorer spreadsheet anymore? That was very helpful with a listing of each wrestler, their score... and more importantly the free agents/available people and their scores. I can't make heads or tails of anything anymore without having to do 45 min of research.

I think I may have the color thing figured out. But the guy that helped me do it had to change to default colors... and our colors are from like original excel and aren't defaults in the more modern versions.
But the code he wrote me will take that master list of players and color code the name conditionally based on if they are listed under someones team name square or not.
Will try to debut it for next season. If anything I may just have to change everyone's colors around. Then I just go through our historical chart and paste the new color over the corresponding history of a franchise.

I think we can get it done this week. I know I'll be traveling etc. but all I do is take 10 minutes to write up my 40 names or whatever and I can email that list to myself or print it out and carry it around. How about I open it up during RAW tonight? That gives us 2 more days than usual when we are waiting around on SD spoilers (which already taped).
I think its worth the push cause these season is so short anyway, the extra week could help the "regular season" have a bit more length.
