Subject: Bad Idea to play Poker at betting sites?

I currently have an account on Betwwts.com and they also offer poker games. I think I read somewhere on the boards here that it was a bad idea to play there? Is there any particular reason why?
I have noticed that they automatically take a portion of the winnings, but I just assumed that every site does that, right? |

I am actually planning to change sportsbooks. Would you recommend Betwwts? If so, why?
Now, back on the subject. I really don't know the difference; however, I assume you would be playing with a much smaller number of players with less JUST POKER promotions and such. When I switch I have no intention of leaving Poker Stars.

I chose betwwts.com because of good reviews from sportsbookreviews.com or something like that.
Things I really like about it: -Excellent customer service (they even call you right after you register, kind of a courtesy call) -Very professional looking site (The worst thing you want to do is leave your money with shady looking places right?) -Has spreads, over/unders, moneyline for many games (some sites dont list over/unders
Bad thing: -Minumum Risk per wager is 10 dollars
I'd recommend it because I'm pretty pleased with it. Havent had any problems with it thus far. I'll look into referral bonuses and deposit bonuses if you are interested. We could split the referral bonus if there is one.
Is PokerStars a good site? Do you get a bonus for referral?

I love the PokerStars site. Only tried PartyPoker as a competitor; however, I think PokerStars blows it out of the water!
Not sure about a referral bonus...I e-mail the support to find out.
If I switch to betwwts I will definitely find you; however, I don't plan to make a deposit for awhile...

PokerStars support response:
--- While we appreciate your good word with your friends, at this time we do not have a player referral reward program. Instead we will from time to time also offer a bonus on the next deposit to all of our players, as opposed to just first time players.
We have a Frequent Player Points (FPP) promotion that rewards players for playing on our site. Players accumulate points by playing in ring games and in selected multi-table tournaments. Five points are awarded for each $1 in a tournament fee and one point is awarded for playing in each raked game where the rake reaches a specified amount. The details on the amount of rake needed to acquire FPPs in different games are listed here:
http://www.pokerstars.com/fpp.html
FPPs are redeemable for special tournament buy-ins, promotions, merchandise available in our FPP Store (http://www.pokerstars.com/fpp_store.html) as well as various other prizes which will be announced from time to time.
If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at anytime.
Best regards, Paula PokerStars Support Team ---

THK, I have been doing bodog for about a year now. The betting part of the site is good, but the poker is awful. I have removed it from my computer because I was getting bad beat after bad beat. I think it is set up or something. If you havent made your deposit yet would you be willing to use me as a referral?

Wiggs- I most definitely would have referred you but I made a deposit awhile ago.
The little poker I have played I have found that you see less solid hands than PokerStars and I have witnessed less bad beats...over time maybe that will change, but those are my early observations..
