Hey all -

Forgive my ignorance, but I bought the wife a 30 GB Ipod for Christmas. She has historically used Napster for her music downloads. When attempting to put this collection on her Ipod, it comes up with some error saying they can't transfer "unprotected" WVA files?!?!?!? Whassup with that?

Certainly Apple hasn't made it so you can't transfer any file that wasn't downloaded on Itunes, did they?!?!? Help!

Hey Species, my wife bought be one of those for Christmas as well. I was able to import various mp3 files into iTunes and to my Ipod. So you may just have to transfer your .wav files to .mp3 as an intermediate step (that should also save you space incidentally).

Likewise, I got an Ipod too (the 3 GB) and when transfering all my songs, 9 of them would not transfer due to WVA protection or whatever. I had the CD for them so I just re-ripped them, but in your boots I'd call Apple and ask them about this. If the Ipod can't play Napster downloaded songs, there's probably a conversion tool or method out there that will allow it.
