Wow I just got done reading an article saying that so far in the new year they have been easier to find. And with the question "is the major PS3 shortage over?" Haven't looked for myself though.

I can't remember if it was right before or right after Xmas, but I saw them available when I stopped at a Best Buy in Kansas City. I grabbed one and carried it around for about 10 minutes before deciding to wait until the price comes down.

I got mine out of sheer luck about 10 days before Christmas.
I walked into an EB Games over lunch. The employee was walking out from the back. You could see the UPS truck stick parked because the employee left that door open.
He walks in with three of them. 1 60 gig and 2 20 gig models. I grabbed the 60 gig model. 10 seconds later two guys walked in asking for PS3s. All three sold in less than 10 minutes of being in the store.

I've seen them on store shelves recently. So, they're not that hard to get anymore.
The Wii seems to be harder to find.
