Haven't gotten this thread in here yet.

How's everyone's progress going? I've just now gotten Las Venturas unlocked and got my pilots license, even though it took me about 3 hours to pass those tests.

Which leads me to my problem, I'm stuck on the second? "Zero" (voice of David Cross?) mission where you have to kill 5 delivery boys and still get back to Zero's roof without running out of fuel. Combine in the fact that I'm absolutely terrible trying to fly that thing, it doesn't seem possible to get to all 5 of em without running out of gas. Anyone beat this mission yet?

And what other celebs have made cameos?
Samuel L Jackson
Andy Dick
David Cross
James Woods
and of course, the old vice city guy who's name escapes me.

Robert Loggia?

I have been playing off and on, but the last mission I played was a motorcycle chase through Los Santos where this guy on the back of my bike was shooting at the guy we were chasing. He never did kill him, either. The guy finally stopped his bike and got off of it, and then I hopped off and shot him to death.

I have some questions about some things for those who have figured it all out. I have maxed out my strength at the gym. Do I lose muscle if I don't continue to work out occasionally? How often can I go and maintain top strength? And do you only need to eat when you are injured? I haven't figured out a reason as to why the food aspect of the game was included. What if I never eat? What happens?

Overall I've found that this game takes more skill to develop skills and master techniques than the other GTA's on PS2.

Sounds like you are flying through the game, J. Pun intended.

I dont think it was a robert...you'll see him in a mission in san fierro.

You do lose strength, but I cant really figure out what good strength is. For food, you do get "tired" which just seems to influence your stamina for being able to run or swim somewhere.

I pretty much only eat when I'm hurt or when I get a message saying I'm tired.

You get messages saying you're tired? Never had those...as far as I can see strength is used for punching people and it helps your sex appeal.

In terms of food, as you use energy you use up your fat (food), but if you have no fat you start to lose your muscle (strength).

J that mission is damn tough, my friend said though it isnt necessary though to beat the game. Ive played it a good 20 times, and Ive killed 4 delievery trucks before, but the 5th always seems to be running way away before I can get it.

So I should eat alot of salads and workout like every day? Man, that's too close to actual life. What fun is that?

Progress:

Whole map opened up, about halfway done with the "vegas" missions as best I can tell.

As to the plane mission, wait until you get thru pilot school and the mission becomes 10x easier.

But if you are hell bent on doing it right away it's all in the order you take the people out. Take out the three to the south then the two to the north for maximum efficency and stay on the gas the whole time the fuel is on a timer not on how you work the throttle. And you actually have to fly the plane all the way back to the pad after you kill the 5th guy so be aware of that.

Your muscle goes down if you don't workout, and eating fattening foods hurts both your stamina and muscle. Some of the girls like fat n smelly guys so you will have to re-earn your muscle through workouts after dating the girls.

The plane mission is necissary for 100% but it doesn't prevent you from moving on, it is an "asset" mission not a storyline mission.

Most fun thing to do to waste time is to take the rustler (p51 mustang plane) low and fast over area 51 and head towards the grand canyon and try to beat out the SAMs before they shoot you down. Then after shaking the sams try to shoot down a harrier if you manage to hold off for about a minute you drop to 4 stars, but I've never beaten the whole rap without halo-ing into a safe house...

I pretty much roll everywhere in the rustler and parachute out when I get where I want to be to make quite an entrance. Maybe it isn't the fastest plane, but it sure feels fast.

I was in the San Fiero just about to complete it and move onto the next one (and got all gold in Driving school man that was a bitch).

Anyway Playstation Underground sent me a demo disc in the mail and I decided to play it. Later that day try to load up GTA and it starts from the beginning to data found. I was so pist mest with it for bout an hour. Thought my memory card just broke then found out later that there is a glitch in the demo disk that erases the whole memory card when you play Viewtiful Joe 2. So now I have to start all over again which I havewnt got around to yet and dont know if i want to. Here's a link to the story

well, I finally beat the Zero mission last night. You've just gotta be able to kill each guy without them fleeing even a little. The last guy on the bike is the toughest, but its possible!!!! twice before I actually beat it, I ran out of fuel as I was flying back to Zero's and I could see the marker, I was just seconds short. One of the most frustrating missions I've done.

Also, I started my importing/exporting vehicles business. You can get SOOOO much money, $35,000 for these cars you bring them.

I'm right below 50% complete now, there's so much I still haven't done!!!!

It's the new hotness. Can't...stop...playing.

And the maxed out buff CJ with a 'fro and goatee looks oddly like Donovan McNabb.

That's the style I have for him, too, sox. Last night I decided he would only wear a green face kerchief, green sneakers, dogtags, and the heart boxer shorts until his sex appeal starts to go up. Although I may have to change that afro soon. It looks silly.

I think I'd do that zero mission 5 times before going through the back-country missions again, all the freaking driving.

I've finally got the gang wars back active, time to roll with the DEagle, and jetpack, and occasionally the hunter...

Opened the later Wu Zi casino missions finally. Flying is awesome.
CJ still looks like McNabb, but I bust out the blonde cornrows every now and then to keep the sex appeal up.

If anyone is into shooters/stealth i'd suggest Metal Gear Solid 3. I dropped GTASA for it so far. Haven't really looked back yet, probably go back to it once I beat MGS.

I finally got around to dedicating some serious time to GTA: SA. I had a four game backlog going and I wanted to get thru those just to spend some quality time with my favorite franchise, GTA.

I'm hooked on this game. I'm thinking about wearing something green to work every now and then.

I don't know if any of you have played God of War, but it makes GTASA look like Mario Party.

This may simply be the best console game of all time. Extremely bloody and violent but it's truly amazing in terms of game play, graphics, story line and challenge. Only drawback it's pretty short, about 15 hours.

I liked the way God of War looked on the commercials. I may have to try it now.

Can anyone believe that I never really got into GTASA? It's been collecting dust for about 3 months while I've been racing through a full season of MLB `05. Pretty sad really. I think it was the working out and haircuts I didn't like. Wait! Just like real life.

i received god of war and the soccer 'starting eleven' the other day but haven't started them up yet

finished gtasa 100% last week... don't worry about the gym and the superficial stuff motley

later on in the game i only needed to go to the gym to bulk up once, and once you get the right clothes and haircuts for respect/sex appeal there is no real reason to change them unless you just want to wear something new

Clinton seeks video game sex scene probe

Players who download a modification, known as "hot coffee," from the Internet can make a male character engage in various sex acts with a virtual "girlfriend." Sex is suggested in the official version of the game, but does not happen on screen.

Anyone make it to this level ;)

I saw where even Congress passed a resolution for the FCC to look into this. Don't they have anything better to do?
