I am looking to book another cruise. Now I've done your basic Caribbean and another to Bermuda, but right now I'm looking to try a different type altogether. Perhaps Alaska (via a stay in Vancouver first)... perhaps the Panama Canal... my buddy suggested going through Iceland (I was VERY impressed by the pictures I found).
Curious if anyone would like to share some of their experiences and throw out some reccomendations. Also, wondering if the Pacific is rougher than the Atlantic. I remember not feeling a thing in the Caribbean, but definitely felt the rocking in the Atlantic. |

My in-laws took an a cruise to Alaska that left from Seattle. They had the time of their lives, and came back with many a many of pictures. They didn't make any mention of rough water, so I can't comment on that aspect of the trip, but they did say they were not without things to do and see the whole time on the boat. They are even already talking about going again in the near future. Personally I am trying to go through the panama canal. I have heard from people it is a really cool trip, and if I had my choice I would probably take that one

My wife and I just booked a cruise, leaving from Galvaston, Tx and going down to Cozumel Mexico. This will be our first and we're really looking forward to it.

If you decide to go to Alaska, I can tell you a few places that you should make sure to see. I don't live up there anymore, but my family still does. Beautiful place.

GO.
We took the Alaska cruise and it was great. The ship normally travels in what is called the inside passage. The water is very calm. Went as far north as Galcier bay where you can watch as pieces of the Glacier break off and hit the water. The temperature even in the summer isnt that high so there isnt any chance to lay out on the deck but there are plenty of excursions too keep you busy. Each night of the trip the sun sets an hour later as the ship moves north. Very strange to get up at 2 AM and find it light outside.
