Hey guys, I'm in the middle of Blockbuster's free trial, I was wondering if you could help me out. If you have a DVD in your queue and it says long wait, will they send you the next one on your list? Up next I have the entire third season of The Wire (just discovered this show through my Blockbuster trial actually), and all of the discs are coming up "long wait, possible 2 to 4 week shipping".
If they don't just send you the next available, would you recommend pulling it from the list? When they say long wait do they really mean it? |

with netflix, which I assume works the same, they will send you the next in your queue, until a copy of the "long wait" DVD is in when they receive one of your movies back....

Are you able to go to the store and pick up yout LONG WAIT items? Netflix is notorious for this if you're a frequent renter. They also delay your shipping and saying they received movies. It's a computer program that is called throttling by Netflix. They do this so they don't lose money by frequent renters. I got out of it a few months ago and am looking at Blockbuster--think it will probably be given to us as a gift.

SU...yes they will send you the first movie in your queue that is available.
When they say long wait...yes they mean it...I have had movies showing long wait for 6 months or more...other times it will show long wait and then be moved to available the next day. I have heard that if you have a very short queue or a queue with only movies that show long wait you are bumped up the priority and will receive those movies quicker than someone who has many movies available in their queue.

The Wire is damn good. I watched the first 2 seasons earlier this year. I'm thinking of picking up the third season Sunday at Best Buy where it should be going on sale.

I had season 3 of the Wire as a long wait for about 3 months recently. I caved in and bought it on Ebay last week. It started going back and forth between long and short wait for awhile but I never could get it sent to me. A problem I have had a lot is that the first disc takes forever to get but later discs are no problem. I did not see season 3 at any local stores either. I can give someone a good deal on my copy if you can wait til next week.

Also just noticed that episode 1 of season three is on BET right now. 930-1100 EST. I am sure it is pretty censored but that being said in the 2 minutes I watched I heard an "a" word, "s" word and "n" word. I also have no idea if they are playing through the season in sequential order. Might be something worth looking into.
