I tried watching the Big Bang Theory...I wonder if they'll even air the 2nd episode?

I have finally completed Season 1 of Heroes and am watching the new episode tonight. Perhaps we should start a thread for Heroes only... for it is amazing and warrants such discussion.

I really like "Chuck" on NBC. A little different and a little quirky. Good acting, nice writing, etc. Has a great timeslot on Mondays and I think it has the potential to surprise many. Let's hope NBC sticks with it.

First Episode Grades:

Dirty Sexy Money A-
Dexter B+
Heroes B
Prison Break C

Anyone start watching a new show that they think could be pretty good?

Has anyone watched the new season of any of the CSIs? I think so far this season has been the best one for all 3 shows. I am not much of a CSI Miami fan because I dont like Horatio Cane, but even that show impressed me.

I already took a few shows off my Season Pass: Back To You, Big Bang Theory.

The stars right now are Chuck and Reaper (with Pushing Daisies tonight which should be good). I haven't watched Cavemen or Carpoolers but plan to tonight. Hello, train wreck. Also on board for Journeyman, but I haven't watched yet. And the lady likes K-Ville.

For old shows, I've watched How I Met Your Mother and this season is decent. Awaiting The Office and (especially) Friday Night Lights.

I caught "The Bionic Woman" that I had DVR'd from the other night. A decent set up in that there is a second sinister Bionic Woman out there to be a nemisis to the main characer. It may be interesting to see the direction this series takes. The jury is still out on this series for me but I'll give it a few more episodes.

Forgot about the Office:
I'd give that a B+ and My Name is Earl a B. Both of those shows would probably work out better as a normal 30 minute episode.

And Pam is really hot this season.

Speaking (again) of "Chuck," did anyone who saw it catch the "Lost" reference in the Dr. Zarnos scene at the Buy More?

gibberish... "Oceanic Flight 815 was shot down by..." more gibberish, but it could've been "CIA"

An interesting sidenote I just noticed- The longtime PA voice of the Texas Rangers is Chuck Morgan. Hmmm...

I just caught an advert for this on tv the other day.

Maybe some of you will be interested.

I believe it is a Fantasy TV Network game. You buy and sell TV shows.

I also liked Quantum Leap. I watched the first episode of Journeyman and enjoyed it. I have the next two queued up on TiVo. At the very least, it made the first cut.

Anybody watch Women's Murder Club last night? I love reading James Patterson, and next to Alex Cross, this book series is pretty good.

Just wondering how the series looks...

Chuck is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows. Anyone else watch? I haven't watched this Monday's episode yet, but I've been catching up slowly but surely and I REALLY like this show! I think its really the only new show that I'm sticking with.

My Name Is Earl has kinda dissapointed me this season, although last Thursday's was probably the funniest of the new ones so far.

I watch Chuck. It's alright, and I'll keep watching but it hasn't been exciting me.

Same with a lot of shows this year - Reaper, Carpoolers, Journeyman. I have 3 Pushing Daisies Tivo'd but I fear it'll be in the same boat. Watchable, entertaining, but not sticky.

That said, The Office and Friday Night Lights have saved the season. Along with How I Met Your Mother, it's a strong base returning.

I had DVR'd Chuck and watched them all over the past week (now that the Yankees are out). That show and The Bionic Woman are the only two new shows that I have watched this season. I usually don't invest into a new show until I know it is going to be around, then usually try to catch up (like I did with Heroes last year).

I like Chuck. It is kind of fun and a nice break from the crime and action shows that take themselves much too seriously (like Bionic for example which I'm still on the fence on).

I like the following shows:

Sunday: Dexter, Curb
Monday: Weeds, Californication
Wednesday: South Park, Sara Silverman
Thursday: Earl, Scrubs, Office, 30 Rock
Friday: Real Time with Bill Maher
Mon-Thu: Daily Show, Colbert Report

I think Curb is still the funniest of them all, but most of these shows are quite good. I also look forward to Rescue Me in the summers. The Office has been excellent so far, as 30 Rock, but Earl is not as strong. Dexter has grown to be my favorite non-overt comedy show. Very clever and a bit gruesome. Michael C. Hall is really good.

I think I'm about to give up on Journeyman. I also deleted Pushing Daisies without watching once, since I didn't have time.

I am down to this:
How I Met Your Mother
Chuck (2 weeks behind)
Reaper (3 weeks behind)
Friday Night Lights
The Office
Carpoolers (haven't watched this week)

Starting in 08: Jericho, 24, and Greek. I think that's all I'm scheduled for, unless they bring Traveler back.

The spring season is going to be sparse. Here's what I'm looking at:

- Jericho
- Chuck
- Big Brother 9
- How I Met Your Mother
- Terminator (been decent, needs to keep it up)
- Friday Night Lights
- Reaper
- Dirt (back March 2)
- The Office
- 10 Items Or Less
- Greek (if it ever comes back)
- 24 (if it ever comes back and doesn't suck as much as last year)

Am I missing anything?

The Office is probably done for the year. They can get 4 more episodes in if the strike ends by February 1st. (not likely)

24 was cancelled. They have 8 or so episodes completed which they'll use next year. (Tony Almeida is back!) Keifer Sutherland actually just got out of jail.

Shows I'm recording:

Prison Break - 5 episodes left
Terminator - last week was alright
Nip/Tuck
Lost (8 episodes in the can, will finish the other 8 if the strike ends by February 1st)

Rendle, How the hell is Almeida back? That's a stretch even for 24.

Everybody watching the Wire? That show is simply amazing.

It's really going to suck if we don't get those last 8 episodes of Lost this year.

There were some rumors prior to the finale last year that Tony would call Jack into a car and the season would end there. There was a Day 7 sneak preview that aired during the World Series:

Sneak Peak

Who knows how they'll do it? Hopefully it's better than the disaster that was Day 6.

I finished the 4th season of The Wire about a month ago. Easily the best written show on TV. I'm going to wait to watch 5 so I can run through it marathon style.

Lost is my favorite show on network TV. Apparently the ending to season 8 isn't a logical stopping point but a huge cliffhanger nonetheless. They were supposed to air 16 episodes of Lost the next 3 seasons so it will be interesting to see how they handle everything with the strike.

PS - Lance Reddick (Lt. Daniels from The Wire) is joining the cast of Lost this season.

The first 3 episodes for Jericho Season 2 have leaked to the internet. This is the site I use to watch shows online:

Unfortunately Episode 1 is now missing but it'll probably pop up sometime this week.

Damn leakage.

I'm excited for Jericho, but a little nervous. It ended on a serious high note. What if it doesn't measure up?

It's good that Friday Night Lights season 2 has been very good. Maybe Jericho will be as good.

Strike may be coming to an end

Entertainment Weekly reported this last week:

Procedural shows like CSI could crank out up to 6 more episodes.

NBC says they can crank out around 5 more The Office episodes.

Lost will be able to finish it's back 8 episodes

Has anyone seen the new AMC show "Breaking Bad"...? It's very good. Wild premise about a 50 year old new mexico-based high school chemistry teacher, struggling to make ends meet with a wife, teenage disabled kid, and a baby on the way, who learns he has terminal lung cancer. So, in a huge turnabout, he decides to become a drug maker (crystal meth), using his chemistry knowledge, to make $ to help his family before he dies. Only two episodes thus far, but very good; dark humor.

Is there a way to tell what shows will be starting in syndication? Basically I'm tired of watching Seinfeld and Friends every damn night when I get home from work... hoping something new is on the horizon.

I know recently Family Guy has been on TBS and thats some progress. But I'm just hoping there are a few new shows (How I Met Your Mother?) that I can start getting into...

Great One, it's usually after the 4th year in Prime Time. You'll get your Barney fix soon enough.

I just want to remind everyone that Jericho is returning on February 12 (Tuesday), at 10 PM. I can't imagine you've got anything else to watch at that time so PLEASE GIVE IT A SHOT. This is a great show but it's going to be canned if it doesn't get the viewership. So watch and tell all your friends how great it is.

Some news...

Some shows I watch are back, and some are not. The only one I'll really miss (besides Jericho) is New Amsterdam, which was really good.

Reaper will return at midseason, and Friday Night Lights will be back, although with a weird scheme - online in the fall, on TV in the winter. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will be back as well.
