0 Subject: Survivor Season 15 - China

Official CBS Survivor China site

Season 15 starts next week.

Not a lot of pre-show buzz about this season, as opposed to some of the gimmicky starts they had the last few years.

Seems like Sun Tzo's The Art of Waris going to be a recurring theme.

There will be two hidden individual immunity idols which will supposedly be hidden in plain sight, one at each camp. I have not seen a mention of Exile Island this season. Instead, it seems the winning tribe in the reward challenge gets to 'kidnap' one member of the other tribe, who stays in the opposing camp until the immunity challenge. The kidnapped tribe member gets a clue regarding the immunity idols which they must share in private with one member of their choice from the opposing tribe.

Unfortunately James does not posses the people skills to go very far in this game.
He will be gone very soon....probably this week.

IMO This is going down as one of the worst groups of survivors. Tonight was just a comedy of errors...

A plan to waste the immunity idol?
Finding the hidden immunity in front of everyone?
Trying to win the challenge?
Zhan Hu abandoning their throw the challenge plan?

The funny thing is things worked out for them anyway...the best thing that could have happened was Zhan Hu winning the immunity...now they still have James and the Idol and they got rid of sherea.

Courtney is mentally challenged and will need to be eliminated at some point. Todd wants to play the game but has no clue. Amanda seems to be one of the only players.

I actually felt bad for JRB at tribal. Those girls were acting like stuck up high school girls.

James is in a great position but I don't think he has enough strategy in him to win this thing.

This season is wide open which makes it semi interesting.

I thought it would be impossible to make JRB into a sympathetic figure but they are managing it. He doesn't like me...call a waaaambulance.

Wasting the immunity idol was definitely a dumb idea. But I guess Todds logic was to get James to trust him, burn one immunity idol, tell James to get the 2nd immunity idol and give back to Todd. That way he has the only idol and looks like a good guy for giving James the idol.

Finding the immunity idol in front of everyone was awful. Surely, they couldve sneaked away at a time others were away or sleeping. Have Amanda take everyone fishing a la Earl and Yau from last season.

I think PG and Jamie had to try on that challenge. Like we saw, Sherea was on the outskirts of PGs tribe anyway. Sherea dug her own grave by not communicating a thank you at the reward challenge causing doubt from PG and Jamie. They have an uphill battle regardless.

The worst move i thought was discussing who should be voted off and Amanda decides to say it should be frosti or sherea with Frosti right there. Frosti needs to get with JR, mullet chick and con anorexic girl into a freak alliance. Courtney is on the outs with Todd and other girl, i think that was obvious at Tribal council. If JR can work his "smooth skills" and convince Courtney to have a secret alliance that no one would expect, maybe she would go for it. I also think at this point that is the only person JR can beat if he gets to final 2.

Thank god Sherea is gone. I dont remember hating a survivor more in a long while. She was an absolute moron.

I'm loving this Survivor season! Ineptitude reigns supreme....WooHoo!!!!

We've got laziness, we've got stupidity, we've got foolishness unharnassed, we've got arrogance, we've even got NUDITY!!! Ok, it was James', but still.....LOL To top it all off, we've apparantly got the only group of Americans that have NEVER seen Survivor before! Idiots! I can't wait tell next week! LOL

I am so sick of Courtney, JRB, Jaime and PG....get rid of them all!!! Better yet, just dump them in the China Sea and make them swim home.

I know Todd is trying to play the game but c'mon.......telling everybody and their brother about the hidden immunity idol will NOT, I repeat, will NOT, save your arse later. And to try to get to it in front of everybody?? Incredible insanity! Todd, have you ever heard of NIGHTTIME??? Idiot.

Meanwhile, in full disclosure of my sorry affairs and how I see this whole mess sorting itself out, I'm kinda rooting for the Lunch Lady to win it all. She works hard; works well with everyone else; hasn't shown an irritating and grating attitude (to my knowledge) and is actually doing quite nicely staying above all the drama.

By the way, Sheree..........here's hoping the door did hit you and your super-sized siliconed breasts on the way out! Thank God she's outta there.

If JRB and Courtney end up in an alliance it would be the greatest thing ever. The pure hate alliance.

Todd definitely screwed up telling everyone he found the immunity idol. He's trying way too hard to micro manage the game.

The pace really picked up this week. Of coure, it wouldn't have taken much for that to happen.

Todd had a great plan, but the execution was horrible. He knows about the idol. He knows James is gone if he goes back to tribal council. He needs a third in his alliance since Aaron is gone. His new best friend is James. If he protects him, James would be loyal for life. James will win his fair share of individual immunities down the road. What does Todd have to lose? Keep your mouth shut and let the chips fall. Instead he's so full if himself and his foolproof plan he's stuck when the fools blow it.

If Amanda hadn't been being an idiot and looking for the idol in front of God and everbody...

If Todd hadn't gone to help her look for it instead of telling her to cut it out...

If Frosti hadn't jumped right in the middle of their business...

I did like Todd telling James "when you get back to camp, be sure to steal their immunity idol." What's unfortunate is it looks like in the previews Erik says something along the lines of, "What have we here? A hidden immunity idol." Do they see James'? If so they know what it looks like and they just have to grab the one at their camp or steal his, although I wouldn't be stealing anything from James.

Santino, come're. What's-a matter with you? I think your brain is going soft from all that comedy your playing with that young girl. Never tell anybody outside the family what you're thinking again!

They could change the words to "Never tell someone at tribal council what you are thinking again".
Courtney's brain must be as weight challenged as the rest of her body.
JRB was the perfect alliance partner.
He is always on the outside looking in and easily manipulated.
Now that she opened her mouth the alliance will need to contend with his premature defection.

Todd came up with a great plan but then couldnt keep his mouth shut about it.
Trying to lose the challenge was not very smart because if they won James would be safe and the idol is still in play.

I'm beginning to think these players are being selected like a jury pool.
We are only taking those who have not seen the show and are mentally challenged and easily swayed.
There are a couple of rules to follow to give yourself a chance in this game and every rule has been broken:
1. Dont be the player who does nothing at camp and sleeps while others are working. (JRB,Sharea,Ashley)
2.Dont put yourself out as a leader. Those who stick their necks out to take control of the tribe only make it easier to have it lopped off.(Dave)
3. Dont reveal your strategy at tribal council.(Everyone)
4. When someone asks your opinion dont be coy....give it but try to build a consensus and dont sulk or argue if your idea is ignored (Chicken, Dave, several other)
5. When you go on an individual reward challenge/get kidnapped dont come back to your tribe and go on and on about how wonderful it was while they spent the last few hours eating moldy rice. Dont tell them how you met 3 people on the other tribe who are the same religion/race/any other things you have in common.
Tell them about your experience but do it respectfully and without elaborate details.(Lesley)

Im sure the are a couple of other things that players get tripped up by but it seems if you follow these simple rules your chances increase dramatically.
"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer".

At least last night kept the momentum going.

All of a sudden everyone thinks they're so smart and has it all figured out. I thought it was hilarious that Jaime thought she had an immunity idol and practically campaigned for votes so she could use it.

And what happened to Jean-Robert's poker-face when she pulled it out? Come to think of it, wasn't he the only guy in either tribe that didn't know they had been discovered? No one else seemed surprised to see it.

Along the same lines, if I'm Todd, Jean-Robert, you just sealed your fate with your little, "Don't cross me" speech. Let me know how that works out for ya, buddy.

Todd seems to be the only one actually playing the game successfully, even though the "master manipulator" rarely wins. Pei Gei is trying, but for her it's a case of too little, too late.

Yes, Todd is playing the game but to say he's doing it successfully is questionable to me. For whatever reason, he now seems all swarmy and snarky, let alone arrogant---definitely not one who can be seen as a favorite to win.

PG is seriously low on the totem pole and unless she can cause some havoc very, very soon, she'll be toast.

As far as Jaime is concerned...thank God she's outta there. Here whole innocent act really grated me the wrong way...sorta like Calleigh on CSI:Miami. She may be nice to look at but deep down inside she was nothing but a snake. And a pretty dumb one at that! Good riddance.

Now that the teams have merged, it's time to start thinking about which Survivor you'd want to take with you to the final 2 or 3--whichever it is this year. Certainly, JRB has won over absolutely nobody and now Courtney has begun to isolate herself against everyone. Therefore, do you keep BOTH of them alive for the time being? I would. If its a final 3, can you imagine if both of them were in it? LOL The other person would an absolute guaranteed winner! That'd be great!

Having said all that, they must...absolutely must!.... vote off James ASAP. Unless all the remaining challenges are mental like this last week's, then James will certainly be the odds-on favorite in each challenge. Of course there's that little matter of not one but two(!) immunity idols he currently has. LOL I say the sooner those things come out to play, the better.

Meanwhile, Lunch Lady is doing well. Go Denise!

I like Amanda. She seems to at least to have some idea how to play this game. Unfortunately, her alliance is full of idiots. Getting rid of JRB is so dumb. How could anyone actually think he was the best choice to go? Hmm, let's get rid of the one guy that has absolutely no chance of winning.

Exactly. You always want to keep the jerk around because no one wants to give the cash to the jerk. Best example- Marqueques (?) when Brian kept Clay around when no one could stand him but they couldn't muster the votes needed to drop him. Brian was always able to convince enough people that someone else needed to go sooner.

Exception that proves the rule: Richard, Season One. All Survivor gamers learned from it subsequently, though.

How sweet a position is James in now, though? He's got two in the bank, although he really should give one of them back to Todd. He's locked in for two more rounds, guaranteed. And when, not if, he gets an individual immunity, that's one more spot.

I think James has gotten a little cocky. He should've went along with JR and led him to believe he was working with him. He was really lucky Todd was mad at JR for coming up with the same plan has him.

LOL.....Yes James is cocky but he's been that way since the beginning IMHO. He certainly SHOULD have been the one to go this week but the idiots that be gave him a mulligan when he coulda/shoulda been axed. I suspect this will come back to haunt Todd, Amanda and company.

First off, James will want to know who wrote his name down. For those counting, that would be Erik, PG and JRB. Since JRB is gone, Erik and PG are the prime candidates to be bumped in the next two challenges. I imagine that whichever one doesn't win immunity in the next challenge will be gone. If both don't win, get rid of the strongest player, right? Erik...see...you...later!

Secondly, James' two immunity idols won't be going away anytime soon. After seeing how close he came to being bumped off, he'd be a fool if he doesn't bring one to Tribal next week (if he loses the immunity challenge). He's a bigger fool if he gives one back to Todd or whoever. Keep them dude!

Meanwhile, wonder how Lunch Lady fills about being shunned at the "schoolyard pick" game. Nothing like finding out how where you really stand in the game. Methinks she'll be aligning with someone soon (COUGHJAMESCOUGH) or perhaps a Erik, PG, Frosti trifecta that along with Courtney could take control of the game. I think she is the swing vote now and it cause serious havoc. Either way, I think she knows she'll be the one bumped after Erik and PG if things don't change.

Unlike beastiemiked, I'm not a big fan of Miss Montana. Yes, she's pleasant on the eyes but I can't see where she adds much to the camp other than being Todd's top confidant of sorts.

Now, with that all said, who is now the least liked player left? As much as PG is annoying, there is nobody....and I mean nobody....more annoying than Courtney! She is one sad individual! I say let's sit her bony arse next to JRB at the Survivor Reunion show by bumping her off the show now. :)

Although the original Fei Long tribe still have five original tribe members left to Zhan Hu's three, I wouldn't be displeased at all with little Miss Courtney's departure. But with her being so disliked, I guess that means the others should keep her around 'til the end huh? Egads!

ugh. she has to be biggest anti-survivor in history. they get her to lighten the boat and she can't even paddle to keep it in the middle. she wouldn't ever win a pageant because if she turned sideways she would be invisible. maybe a hidden talent. but her susan lucci comment was funny.

who will she complain about next now that jr is gone?

Courtney wasn't so bad this week. Obviously, winning helped her attitude. It also seemed like she warmed up to JR a little bit. She laughed at one of his jokes at tribal where in weeks past she would've rolled her eyes.

There's only 4 people, James, Amanda, Frosti, and Todd that have a shot at winning this thing. James is definitely the frontrunner. Frosti is the underdog but he seems to be playing nice to everyone which is huge come final vote time.

beastiemiked....Kinda stating the obvious there but I'll play nice. James is on an island all by himself here. Everybody wants him on their team, he was a member of both tribes (if only temporarily), he's the strongest player plus he's the only one with two immunity idols--which most of the players know about. Depending on your point of view, he's either in great shape or absolutely horrible shape. I'll take the former.

Amanda and Todd are tight even though there seems to be a little crack in their alignment.

PG and Erik are aligned but I'm positive PG would throw Erik overboard if it meant saving her own hide.

Courtney and Denise belong to the strongest group (and don't you let this little thing called a merge fool you). But they are not in the inner circle. Frosti is in the middle. He doesn't really belong anyone, hasn't offended anybody to my knowledge and is just kinda hanging around. He'll be safe for quite a while and may end up winning this whole thing by default.

But it's Courtney, Denise and Frosti's votes that are THE key to how the remaining weeks line up. They can side with whomever they want and automatically will become the dominant group or can emerge as a separate secret trifecta and end up all going to the final three----if they play their cards right.

It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

So can anyone figure out just who is in an alliance with who?
I'm kinda confused myself, it seems like things are shifting around each day.
With 7 left this would seem like the time for those who are 4th and 5th on the "alliance list" to pull the old end around to move up to 3rd or 4th.
Lunch Lady and anorexic girl would seem like the obvious players to switch sides and vote with PG and Erik.

James is in such a power position but he seems to be lost as to what his strategy should be.
With two Immunity idols in hand he should be looking to see who the two people he would want next to him for the final vote.
Of the 6 left he would lose to Lunch Lady, Todd, Amanda and Erik.
That leaves him with PG and Anorexic girl that would make him the million dollar winner.
He needs to figure out how to bring them along to the final 3 and at the same time make it look like they were the ones stabbing people in the back.
The plan is simple.
You make a two player deal with Lunch Lady knowing that you could get to 4 of 5 before you cut her loose.
When Todd makes mention that maybe they should vote for AG you secretly go to her and tell her she is on the chopping block and let her get the votes together to vote off Todd.
You then align with PG, LL, AG and vote off Erik and then Amanda and then LL.
He could use one of his Immunity Idols to gain the trust of someone sitting on the fence and ensuring that they are in his allaince to the end.
I just dont know if James can look far enough ahead to make the right moves.

I never understood why they let one person gain so much power. I'm talking about Todd, of course. James is the one who should be in command of the game, but he still seems to listen to Todd calling the shots.

As soon as those 4 pretty much threw it in their faces that they were the "leaders" and you others can't touch us, the other 4 should have banded together and went after one of them. That was so cocky.

somebody needs to blindside Todd, he would never even see it coming....

That would be after last night's TC when James got voted off.
This was the inevitable waiting to happen.
James is a very likable person but had no clue as to what he was doing.
You have two idols and you almost get voted of two weeks prior and you decide not to use them?
Just having two idols makes you a very big target, they do you no good sitting in your bag unused.

The most surprising thing was that the rest of the tribe came up with a plan and didnt blab about it at tribal council.

I gotta believe Amanda is the favorite.
Hasnt done anything to piss anyone off.
Is playing the game but doing it behind the scenes.
The question is who does she take with her?
Probably Anorexic Girl and PG or Todd.
She will lose to Lunch Lady and possibly Erik.
My rankings on Favorites to win(assuming they make it to the finals):
1. Lunch Lady
2. Erik
3. Amanda
4. Todd
5. PG
6. AG

i really can't believe pg and/or erik tell james about the votes coming his way. letting him in on it would gain his trust and set up a 3 vs 3 vote next week, plus amanda would swing because she already wants to get rid of todd.

that being said, they are still winning immunity challenges so one of them has a decent chance.

james was a moron for not playing an idol. at tribal all lunch lady talked about was how you might think you're voting in a group but really that group minus you is voting you out.

weak, weak players.

my pg stock is rising but i remember she still threw a challenge earlier in the game. so i'd say erik, lunch lady, amanda, pg, todd, and skeleton.

I was finally able to watch it last night.
Wow. Amanda came up with a good plan and had good execution, even if it included The Stick; that's the first time we've seen that happen this season.

James just wasn't devious enough to hang around. I have to say I was surprised that Lunch Lady played along. She likes James. Next week's previews play her up as a swing vote. That means she makes Final Five. In two short steps she's final three.

At this point you want to start keeping around the people you really want to go up against in front of the jury. That will work against Lunch Lady because no one should want to face off against her for votes. As much as playahs want the jury to vote for playahs, very few will. They hold grudges and vote for the person they perceive to have slighted them the least.

James would have never voted with PG ever. He hated her and I'm convinced she would've been gone instead of James if she blabbed about it.

Amanda is definitely the favorite. I think she wins against anybody in a final vote. Pretty sure Erik would win if he somehow made the finals and Amanda wasn't there. My guess is there's almost no chance that Courtney or PG wins.

grrrr

with erik out, i'd like to see pg win. she is showing some real grit winning these challenges and she kept her cool by not blowing up at lunch lady for not picking her to go on reward.

lunch lady had the chance to turn the game around and she took the easy way out both times. 1) for the reward, she took amanda and gave a total b.s. answer to pg. she looked weak at tribal? who isn't? and 2) voting. she already has a mullet. get some balls!

great job by skeleton to act out todd's sister losing a baby. some people are a bit too into the game. may she fall into the fire and burn.

At this point Amanda and Todd need to decide who they take to the final 3.
Either AG or PG will do.
They both lose to Lunch Lady so my guess is she will be next to go.
They cant risk keeping her till the final 4 and have her get immunity and winning the million.

The question is what can LL do to keep herself in the game.
She missed her chance last week and I dont see how she can swing any votes other than PG to get a majority.
Erik and PG would have been her majority if she would have made the right vote last week.

At least the mystery has been solved as to what happened to those extra lunches she brought home.

It's time for Todd to go, and it wouldn't take much for him to be sent packing. "Next time on... (wait for it) 'Survivor'" hinted as much.

If PG somehow manages to hang on it will be the biggest come-from-behind since Chris beat the Amazon Women (at about this same point in the game, IIRC.)

There's no way PG wins against anyone except maybe Courtney and Denise. Honestly, if those 3 had any clue they'd band together to knock out the power alliance of 2. If either Todd or Amanda make it to the finals without the other one it should be a landslide. I kind of hope they both make it there as I think the winner would be determined by whoever gives the best answers.

I still hold to my prediction that Denise wins if she is is in the finals.
The problem is I doubt very seriously she will be able to get there.
She didnt do herself any favors by not taking PG and probably lost her vote.
Then she made the mistake of not picking up on Amanda's plan and voting out Todd.
If either Todd or Amanda are not in the final three I think they will hold the other one resposible and vote for Denise.

I gotta believe that a finals with Todd/Amanda/Skeleton would be close with Amanda winning by the narrowest of margins.

I think The Stick is a lock to make it into the Finals, but she doesn't get a single vote.

Amanda was never considering sticking with PG. The only reason she "talked" with her was to get her vote when she gets to the final.

I noticed they said there were 3 more tribal councils. I was under the impression it would be a 3 person final but I guess not.

Ugh.....Miss Montana, Mr. Self-Professed Know-It-All, Miss Skeleton and The Lunch Lady all in the Final Four? Not exactly the four any of us would have predicted at the outset of the season huh?

Well, I wonder how it's going to turn out? Hmmmm, first off, Todd has made a ton of enemies I suspect and certainly will not win a million dollars. Secondly, Miss Skeleton is not liked at all by hardly anyone and thus will not win a million dollars.

That leaves us with Miss Montana vs. The Lunch Lady. Well, the Lunch Lady has no shot at making the final three unless she wins immunity next time out. I'm guessing she doesn't and thus, will end up in fourth place. Therefore, by default, Miss Montana will win the million dollars! Unless The Lunch Lady somehow makes the final three, Miss Montana should win in a landslide.

Overall, I'm thankful that this has turned out to be a pretty entertaining season. Wonder what would have happened if Chicken or Ashley didn't have such personality quirks? The game would be a whole lot different now. Of course, we could say the same about any of the previously dispatched contestants. But besides having our usual mix of uninteresting and unentertaining players, just having Survivor in China has turned out to be about as good as I could hope.

The only question left is:

When will they have Survivor: All-Stars 2? ;)

With Todd winning and another final tribal council where people understand it is a game, I guess this season's Survivor has finally morphed into a game where the jury is ok with picking a schemer and the strategy of just trying to take someone along who betrayed alot of people may no longer work. The Amanda style strategy of hoping you sit next to someone who was just a little more devious than yourself, and someone who just tagged along may no longer work, even though it had in prior seasons. Even Courtney got more votes than Amanda.

Anyway, the season as a whole was not very memorable, and there were few stand out 'characters' who usually add some personality to the season, but I thought the season finised strong.

Re Survivor "All Stars 2", it looks like season 16 is going to feature a tribe of intitees from seasons 9-15, and a tribe of Survivor "fans". It just wrapped up filming in Pulau and is going to be called "Survivor Micronesia - Fans vs Favorites". It airs starting in early Febuary.

I give Todd one of the better jury performances in the games history...I have been waiting for a schemer to take just that approach when it came to the final jury. Just keep emphasizing the game aspect of it and admit to all of your scheming. At that point the jury has you figured out and they know you schemed and lied...don't continue to BS them...they will see through it.

But I do not know that this will always work...it just depends on the jury...if you get a jury full of gamers they will give you credit...if you get a jury full of spoil sports they are not going to be able to get past their own disappointment. I never can understand the people that are pissed that they got lied too...if you have not figured out that everyone lies in this game and there really is no way around it. They should not let you in the game if you can't figure this out. Face it whoever makes it to the final 3 is going to need to betray some people.

Agree 100%.
You show me someone who makes it to the final 10 and doesnt lie or decieve to get further in the game and I will show you a Survivor Juror.
The one good thing about this final TC was there was a lot less crying about being stabbed in the back.
"How dare you stab me in the back before I could stab you in the back".

I thought Todd almost made the mistake of taking it too far.
"Not only did I stab you in the back but I threw you in the mud pit and used your remains to get across so I wouldnt get my feet dirty".

I also give Todd credit for his entire master plan, which he made sure included:

1 - bringing somebody WEAKER than him along, so that if they did poor in early team challenges that they could blame THEM (Courtney) instead of him....

2 - aligning with the strongest alpha male type, being the intellectual/strategic partner with the big physical presence

Denise still totally wimped out though by not going with Erick and PG to try to get in the Top 3 instead of being at the bottom of a group of 4.

PS - how....weird...uncomfortable...awkward was it to have Denise almost begging for a job on the show?!?!? Getting whacked from being a Lunch Lady to being a janitor? Now that is f'd up.

So this was the first time that a car wasn't given away. 12 of the 14 previous seasons had a car challenge ... leading to the "curse". But a car was given away in all 14 seasons.

Hatch was given a car in addition to his million bucks in season one, and Ozzy was given a car during the Cook Islands Reunion show.

I agree with your point on Denise.
When Skeleton made the comment about her life sucking I thought it was kind of rude.
However, when Denise says she now has to swab toilets I think AG might have been too kind.
You are readily recognizable as even she says that all the 3rd graders wave at her in the hall.
Is the school the only employer in town?
Are you staying there out of loyalty?
Was the school loyal to you?
How many people can survive under harsh conditions and the durress of playing a mind game for 39 days and then accept a demotion to a job as a janitor?
Get up off your azz and find another job.
You are a minor celebrity....surly you can figure out a way to parlay that into a $10 per hour job.

The classic moment for the season was when Todd shut up JR.
It was that look someone gets when they slowplay aces and the river brings a 3rd suited card and they get check-raised all-in.
It was just that blnk stare of "geez....how dumb could I be"?

Denise lied about getting canned. She was promoted to janitor which pays $17 an hour before survivor. Her begging for money and stuff was just a ploy. Courtney >>>> Denise.
