0 Subject: Buying an XBox 360

Ok, so I'm finally plunking down the coin for a console. NHL 08 on computer blows, and my friends and I already miss it. :)

But... there seems to be a huge variety in consoles available.

1) Do I want an Elite? I have no need for HD space (my comp caries a terrabyte already) so 20GB or 120GB means nothing to me. Is there any other difference between the Elite and the others?
2) I'd prefer to plug it in to my wireless network, rather then a network cable. Does XBox Live run ok over wireless? And, should I buy the XBox 360 Wireless Adapter , or is a Linksys a better way to go?
3) Reading a few threads about the 360 over at xbox360forum.com, theres alot of talk about the new falcon chip. Whatever that is. What is it, do I want it, and how do I know if this bundle has it?
4) Is that bundle a good deal?
5) Are wireless controllers (and the recharger pack) worth it?

Thanks for any help guys. I remember back when buying a console was a 2-step process. Give money, play games... lol

I don't really think you need an elite and in the future if you think you need a bigger Hard Drive you can always just install one yourself.

Wireless runs good, but I think going with the ethernet wire is always a better option. Just a lot more stability no chance for interference. It all depends on how serious you are about online though.

I don't know anything bout the falcon chip.

Wireless controllers are key! They work great just as good as regular wired controllers but without the wires :)

Marvel Alliance is a killer game I played numerous hours on that.. Halo 3 im sure you know in the pinnacle of gaming. Haven't played forza motor sports, but I heard it is one of the better racers out there.

For some reason I never noticed much difference between HMDI cable and componet so thats a moot point imho.

I waited a long time to get my 360 also. It is the best system I have by far. While Xbox Live has a fee I think like 50 bucks for a year their service puts PS3 and WII's to shame. Everything is a lot more organized, and most importantly stable. All their games from the classic days always come with something extra. Most importantly online addition. For example I have SF2 turbo for the WII and its cool, but on the 360 they have the same game, but you can play against others over Xbox live and they also have online ranking systems.

If you do purchase one which you definately wont regret here are some great games that have been out for a while that you should catch up on

All the Halo's
Saints Row
Crackdown
Madden 08
NCAA 08
Oblivion (If you like RPG's)
Bioshock
Perfect Dark Zero
FarCry
F.E.A.R.

Im sure there are many more, but those a some off the top of my head.

If ya have any other questions lemme know ill be more then happy to help ya out

Sorry to butt in on this thread, but my kids just got and x-box 360 for x-mas, and I was wondering about the baseball games for them. I only saw 3 on amazon.

Anybody have recommendations? Should I wait for the 08's? When do they come out?

TIA,
D
