Subject: Albums--I started listening to again---

I thought it would be cool to start a thread where we could all share albums (from the past) that we have started listening to again. The music today seems sterile----where's all the guitars?
With all the great music fans on this site I am positive some of you will share albums that I need to grab or dig out of the old CD box.
My first choice:
Screaming Trees: Sweet Oblivion
A gem without question. Every song has a nice flow and excellent lyrics. Mark Lanegan's voice has a blue's tone intertwined in the 'Grunge" era. "Dollar Bill" and "Winter Song" are some personal favorites.
Though the album is known for the hit "Nearly Lost You", (I believe it is also found on equally excellent "Singles" Soundtrack)---other tracks like "No One Knows" and "For Celebrations Past" rival it easily.
There are great acoustic riffs throughout the album.
It is a gem from 1992.
Please share others or thoughts on this album.

I've been listening to Pearl Jam's greatest hits off of iTunes. Brings back a ton of memories. What a cool compelation too.

(insert random comment about Pearl Jam here)
I'm a bit of a Screaming Trees fan as well. I think Sworn and Broken might be their best song (at least of the mellow ones).
Also check out Lanegan on Mad Season's song Lone Gone Day. It's some impressive vocals.

London Calling and Combat Rock by The Clash.
Since last November or December I'd had this urge to hear a pretty obscure track from the Combat Rock album, "Straight to Hell". I probably hadn't heard it since I was a teenager, as it isn't typical classic rock radio fare. But for over a month I couldn't get the refrain (which was all I could remember of the song) out of my head. I got around to downloading the album via itunes and immediately realized why I'd been playing Straight to Hell in my head. M.I.A.'s steals a very distinctive sample from it in "Paper Planes".

Welcome to the Monkey House by the Dandy Warhols
Not quite the older songs like you guys are listening to, but I havn't listened to it in quite a while. A 2003 release, it's been sitting on my CD shelf since 04 when thier Black Album came out. The Black Album has a great verson of "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"
I've also been listening to The Weakerthans "Reunion Tour". It's been on heavy rotation on my CD player since it came out in 2007. If you are into the "folk-punk" genre it's a good listen.

40 oz to Freedom by Sublime from start to finish is always a trip down memory lane for me. Such a balanced and varied album. I always loved just sitting out on the front porch in Charleston with it blaring out the windows.

Any Tom Petty fans out there should pick up the Mudcrutch album. Good stuff from Tom's side project.
