4 episodes of Taxi tonight. they just showed the one where Latka becomes Vick Ferrari. Classic! I haven't seen this show run in syndication since... I can't even remember. This has gotta be one of the top 10 comedy series in TV history (and the theme song must be top 5).
Unfortunately, from what I'm reading on the net this may just be a one-time deal for WGN. No idea on the details as to why this show isn't being run in syndication anywhere. Too bad. Really enjoying these 4 episodes tonight though.

I think it might suffer from the same problem as WKRP in Cincinnati. There's a lot of copyrighted music in it and they don't have rights to show it without either paying for the music or editing it out. WKRP was even worse because it was about a radio station - music in every episode.

hmmm, could be. btw, they're showing 4 episodes of WKRP on friday.
Flashback to the 1970s starts Monday, June 2 with four episodes of classic newsroom comedy The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Tuesday will have four episodes of the police comedy Barney Miller, Wednesday it is the classic Taxi, Thursday is back to school with Welcome Back Kotter, and close the week with the radio show comedy WKRP in Cincinnati on Friday, June 6!

yea, the Wonder Years is one of the remaining major TV series that has never been released in its entirety on DVD to the home market.
this has everything to do with the expensive musical licensing required for it. it sucks, but it's the nature of the beast.

It looks like WGN is starting to re-run WKRP on Sundays at 7 and 7:30pm eastern, the pilot is on tomorrow and there are episodes next week at the same times.

you know now that I think about it, I don't think there is very much copyrighted material on Taxi. the only songs that jump to mind are Sunshine of my Life and Vienna Waits for You. Also, I don't think all 5 seasons are even releasd on DVD yet. I could be wrong on both though, haven't really studied it.
