Does anyone watch the celebrity apprentice? Tonight was the finale and i was quite disappointed with the results. To me Joan Rivers was an embarrassment to the show. She was rude and disrespectful to both Anne Duke as well as Donald Trump. I dont think many people get away with the things she did in the board room. Also she quit the show and walked out because she didnt like her daughter being fired. I dont think that would go over well if anyone else did that either. Thoughts?

I watched the show and agree 100%. Aside from the way Joan acted I thought Annie was better at being a leader. I did think that it was obvious that Donald had a friendship with Joan previously. A few times in the boardroom he mentioned that they knew the same friends.

Annie was the strongest player, and a little ruthless at times, but I thought Joan's attacks were mostly unwarranted. The whole mother/daughter ganging up got old and I dislike both of them more now. Annie's act got a little tired and she can be annoying for sure, but that was Piers last year and he won. Don't know what really happened with the event planners since the editing can be skewed, but maybe the truth will leak out somwehere. I think it was said best that no one came unscathed out of this show...

I totally agree.

I was not a big Annie fan, but she did play the game very well. She raised a ton of money. Joan raised little money and was a b*tch most of the time. I am shocked they allowed a mother daughter team on the show in the 1st place.

I think the major mistake by Annie was picking Brandie first.
There was no way Joan was going to pick her and the last two pick would have been Melissa and Brandie.
Getting stuck with Jeff Green was a real burden.
Both Joan and Melissa are horrible people.
I had no respect for them going in and even less now.
I think Trump made some really bad decisions.
The first time Melissa stuck up for her mommy to the detriment of her team she should have been fired.
Sticking up for Rodman when he has an obvious drinking problem on the basis that he is "a champion" is pure horsehockey.
He happened to play on a team that won a couple of championships....sometimes in spite of him being on the team.
What has he done since then?
Firing Clohe just because she had a DUI?
She wasnt able to be on the show because she was going to her classes.
I would have fired her if she blew off her classes but not for going to the class.

After watching the show I am left with one question.
Does being a celebrity make a person dysfunctional or do a higher percentage of dysfunctional people become celebrities?

Wey-
I have to believe that the donald knew about clohe's Dui before the show started. If he was going to hold it against her, why have her on in the 1st place?

I couldnt agree more with your comments.

I doubt it takes a PhD to theorize that the when you combine the ego of being a celebrity with:
- everyone wanting a piece of you
- clubs/opposite sex/parties thrown at you just because you are a celebrity
- the pressure
- the magnifying glass of every move, every ounce of cellulite, every person you date being scrutinized

........that a celebrity is more likely to become dysfunctional than the average person.

I'll still take some of their problems though ;)

Annie picking Brandie was because they had become somewhat friends and she knew she could control her. Dennis actually did pretty good in the final, but was a disaster the rest of the show. He is still living in the past of what he did accomplish, not what he's doing now...he's just a sideshow now without the outlet to showcase the athletic talent he had. Annie should have chosen Melissa since at least she could have given her the role of producing the event...but Annie, like Clint, has to feel they are controlling every aspect. Leaving Tom to the other team would have been addition by subtraction!

All in all, what I take from this season is I am increasingly tired of Trump's pompousness. When he proclaimed in week 1 that he was the biggest star on the show not Dice or Dennis or anyone else, I about switched it off...For the entertainment factor they want some of these headcases to be on the show, and then keep them on longer then they should (aka Dennis). Also agree about the Chloe situation, it came down to Trump needing a reason to fire her that week, and he had that one held back in the bag. BTW, what we don't see is that the production team, mainly Mark Burnett, Trump and a few Exec. Producers make the choices of who to fire. That is why they are sent out and have to wait. Him talking to his "advisors" before they come back in is just for show and the outcome is already determined. Have to build up the drama each week.

Like all these reality shows, the editing is done in a way to make the contestants look better or worse and is a big complaint by all invovled. They are told not to talk about it though since their contracts specify they don't get paid if they don't follow the rules. Clint mentioned editing during the live finale so it couldn't be cut. Situations like when Tom (or Clint for that matter) is talking nonsense in the exec meetings, the reactions are amped up with camera cuts of all the others looking supposedly at him like he's an idiot, and come from other times. The editing is clever to make you think a 5 sec scene is more like 15 secs of drama!
