Alright, some of the kids I work with use Limewire like crazy.
They have an understanding that there are all sorts of security issues in the forms of spyware and viruses. What I want to know is the legality of it in Canada. Now I know ethically it is 100% wrong. I also know that the laws in the US are different than those here in Canada.
So...does anyone have articles, facts, or other information that I can become more knowledgeable?
And the argument that they are stealing from the artists and that the songs are only $1 on ITunes don't fly so well with 12-15 year olds.
Help!

Wikipedia is a good place to start.

Hmm...so from as far as I can tell, Bill C-32 is being proposed but has not been passed yet, making it a huge gray area.
Hmm, there goes one way for me to argue against Limewire.

Yes, but 50 songs are $50 and who wants to spend that.

12 year old kids don't, but the way I see them with their possessions and money...they sure do have the cash to spend.

Michael Geist seems to be the authority on the subject: http://www.michaelgeist.ca/
