I didn't want to keep using the Idol thread so here we go. Am I to understand that America votes, but only one member per team is saved by the most votes and then the judges get to pick a second member of their team to get the total number down to 8? What I don't like about that is my three favorite performances from tonight were on Blakes team.
These were tonights performers:
Raquel Castro
Jared Blake
Beverly Mcclellan
Dia Frampton
Xenia
Lily Elise
Patrick Thomas
Frenchie Davis
I really enjoyed Dia and Xenia. I've liked both since their initial song and thought they did great tonight. I like Jared as well and thought he did an excellant job with his song tonight. I doubt he makes it past next week. My biggest concern is that either country America votes in Patrick Thomas or Blake ends up "saving" him due to his country bias. I don't think he is all that.
From Christina's team, I guess Beverly was the one I enjoyed the most. I like her attitude and energy, while her voice is okay. Raquel, Lily, and Frenchie just seem so average to me. |

I completely agree, Dia and Xenia were by far the best, and nobody on Xtina's team did much for me.
All the extra "digital" stuff is a waste of air time, imo.

Sorry TB I stopped watching.
The premise was great but from there it turned into a 2nd rate Idol ripoff.
Having 2 singers "compete" while doing a duet is nuts.
A duet is about harmony a complementing each other.
Have them both sing the same song and choose the best singer.

Glad and surprised Blake chose Xenia, thought for sure he would stick with the country boy Patrick...
Xtina's pick was predictable...
America's votes were right on both fronts, imo. Glad they got it right, as on AI they don't always...
Nobody real stood out for me on Adam or Ceelo's team, but most likely Nakia and Javier will get the fan vote...

I swear Blake looked disappointed when Dia was picked. Just a guess, but I am thinking he was hoping Xenia was America's vote so he could save Patrick. I am happy with the results.
Team Cee Lo
Curtis Grimes - meh
Nakia - I like this guys voice, but wasn't a great song choice...meh
Tori and Taylor - terrible
Vicci Martinez - love her voice and nice Jolene cover
Team Adam
Casey Weston - I really enjoyed her performance
Devon Barley - was just okay, meh
Javier Colon - preferred the original song over his rendition, but he is solid and will be surprised if he doesn't advance
Jeff Jenkins - also just okay for me even though I'd probably rate him 4th for the night
Who I'd like to see advance:
Vicci Martinez (America's vote)
Nakia (Cee Lo's pick)
Javier Colon (America's vote)
Casey Weston (Adam's pick)
If Vicci isn't America's vote, I can see Cee Lo saving her. If neither Javier or Casey is America's vote, I think Adam would save Javier.
The judges also get to see the iTunes sales and maybe even the vote results, so that could play a part on their decisions as well.

For those of you who gave up on this show, you missed a great episode tonight. I thought Frenchie was off just a little in the opening performance, but she picked it up and finished her song well and every other performer kept it going. Really great show. I can't believe four of them are going home after the results.
Beverly vs Frenchie - Solid showing for Beverly tonight. Good song for her and sang it well. She should advance.
Dia vs Xenia - Guessing America votes for Dia again, but I really like them both. Dia is more polished right now, but Xenia has a lot of star potential. I love both of their voices.
Javier vs Casey - I liked Casey more tonight, but will predict Javier moves on.
Vicci vs Nakia - Vicci's performance was hot. Nakia was great, but Vicci was the best of the night.
If I could pick my own top four it would be Vicci, Dia, Xenia, and...lol, man I really like Javier, Nakia, and Casey.

I think Javier and Frenchie won. I do like Beverly though. Vicci's performance was really good. Nakia did a nice job too.
I like Xenia's tone a lot but she isn't ready yet. I wish we could take the top 4 instead of one per team because I'd have Nakia over Dia.

I've been watching Itunes rankngs of the top 200 songs and here's the look;
Beverly vs Frenchie - Frenchie has been the lowest of all the singers only topping the top 100 from a brief time before falling totally out of the top 200. Beverly has been consistingly around 46,47 Winner and my choice Bev
Vicci vs Nakia - Vicci has been #12 most of the time and Nakia was in the top 25-30 for awhile before dropping off later. Winner Vicci and surprisely I agree after last nights performance. But my votes were split between them.
Javier vs Casey - Javier has been at #7 almost all the time and Casey made it has high as 45,46 before dropping late. Winner Javier, all my votes went to Casey as Javier was below par last night IMHO, plus Casey has been one of my favorites and I couldn't believe they passed her up the 1st time in the auditions.
Dia vs Xenia - Dia has been the top ranking Voice performer the entire time staying most of the time at #6, one above Javier. Surprising to me Xenia has the 4th hightest Voice performer during this time ranking 19th for the majority of the time. More surpising to me she has had as much as 4 Voice performance in the top 200 before dropping to 3 as of now. Winner Dia, but not by as big of margin as I would have thought.
Final notes is Dia was also the top rated Voice performer last week toooo!
My predications is Dia & (cough) Javier fight it out next week with Vicci not to far behind and Beverly bringing up the rear. But of course it will also depend on song selection.
Btw, you can hear more of Dia by searching "Meg and Dia", Meg being her sister and bandmate. Some decent songs there

I was not unhappy at all to see Bev beat Frenchie. In fact, when they judged a 50-50 split I knew Bev would win. Heck, America picked her last time too. Hate that 50-50 thing. Only Adam really voted the way he saw it. Needs to be a rule that you can't vote 50-50 split.
Saw where Christina gets $225K per episode and the others get $75K per episode. Still a far cry from what Idol pays.

Beverly (57% to 43% America's vote) didn't win by as large of a margin as I thought she would. I don't know that we really even need the judges votes. For Frenchie to win, Christina would have had to give Frenchie 57/58% of her vote and if you really want to win the competition as a judge, why would you go against the voters, who are going to make the final voting decision anyway? The only other vote by America that was close was Dia (56%) vs Xenia (44%). Javier (73%) and Vicci (75%) were clear choices by the voters.
I don't know what you mean by only Adam really voted how he saw it. Each judged explained their reasoning and I expected them all to be very close to 50-50. If anything, I thought Adam's vote was a bit of a dick-move, giving Javier such a huge lead. I know if I was a future contestant on the show, it would certainly give me pause selecting him as my coach if I had another option.
Speaking of coaches, I've really come to enjoy Cee Lo on this show. Didn't know much about him before this show other than the song Crazy from Gnarles Barkley.

I really like Javier and Dia, knew it would be between them, kind of surprised Javier won though. His fans must have really stepped up. Either way, I enjoyed the show and both will have nice careers...
Challenger, thanks for the tip on Meg and Dia, I really lie that Monster song...

Javier has a great voice, but have to wonder why he couldn't sell any of his previous albums. I downloaded a couple of them the other day and he sounds good. Songs are all pretty generic. I really enjoyed his finals song and can see that being a pretty good hit song for him. Enjoyed Dia and Vicci's final songs as well and would have been good with any of those three winnning. I didn't care much for Beverly's song. I did like the duet with her and Christina.
