I just witnessed one of the best fights I've ever seen tonight on Showtime. If you have Showtime, I'd highly recommend watching the reruns. |

Definitely, I have been watching fights for over 25 years and this, bar none, was the best I have ever seen. The rerun is scheduled tonight at 8:00EST on Showtime II. Believe it or not there is another potential classic fight brewing on June 4th between Kosta Tszyu and Ricky Hatton. Hatton is reowned for his relentless fighting style and Tszyu for his power and accuracy.

Another boxing match that I watched just a few days before was the Ruiz-Toney match. After Toney moved up in weight, I was rooting for him and I agreed with the judges who gave the fight to Toney. Now he flunked his drug test. I knew when they said it was a non-narcotic substance that it was steroids and yesterday they confirmed it. Under their rules they call the fight a no-contest and since Ruiz was defending his belt, he is reinstated as the winner.
I think I'd rather that boxer had to forfeit and declare the other boxer the winner, just like if your corner steps up onto the apron during the fight, but oh well. Now I wish Ruiz would have just beaten him.

Speaking of Boxing, did anyone see the Lamon Brewster fight on Sat? I would say it was the Brewster/Golatta fight, but Golatta was knocked down three times before the ref stopped it :51 into the match!
This guy reminds me a lot of how Tyson was when he started. Very strong and aggressive. Obviously Golatta is on the way out, but I've heard things about Brewster for a few years, but never seen him at this level before. I think he will be the next heavyweight champion.

The much-anticipated rematch was messed up by Catillo failing to make weight. So it's now a non-title match at Welterweight. Corralles keeps title regardless of outcome.
