Any FF Fans know of any songs written by Grohl about Nirvana or Cobain?
Thanks! |

Not off hand.
But since you started this thread, I'll mention that I thought the accoustic version of Times Like These was dynamite. That's on the Soundtrack of My Life.

I love the wooden music, and totally agree about Times Like These.

Exactly! That is why I am pumped about the new double Cd coming out with one side being all acoustic.

I have a Foo fighters CD that I don't ever listen to. The Color and the Shape, I think it's called. Too bad. That wasn't one of my favorites.

That's probably their best CD. Monkey Wrench, Hero, and Everlong are all top notch Foo songs.

I saw it at the store. I didn't get it. They aren't my favorite band, aC.
Tell you what though, I have been listening to alot of HIM lately. I like them alot.
And this week I have pulled out some of the old PJ collection, including Vs. and Lost Dogs. Some real gems made it onto Lost Dogs. Makes me wonder how they weren't LP tracks.

*Cough*
I've actually been listening to Lost Dogs a lot this week. Yes, there are some great songs on there. But a lot of them didn't really fit when they came out. Like Hard To Imagine would be very out of place on Vs. And it's not a secret song either - it was on the Chicago Cab soundtrack. A lot of the songs were Christmas singles. And some of the songs are really bad - I hate Sweet Lew and All Night, to name two.
But there are some really good songs on there - most notably Hold On. And Brother would be in that category if the real version was on Lost Dogs.

I can't remember what album Sad (Binaural?) was a B-side from, but it should have been an album track. Same with Other Side.
I really like the Whale Song, too, although I think it was one of those MOM songs--a charity album.
And man could PJ make a great covers album with the material they use. I would love to hear them work up Sonic Reducer, Redemption Song, and Masters of War in a studio.
Sorry to hijack the Foo Fighters' big thread. : p

I think you're right about Sad and Binaural. It would have been fine there.
Sonic Reducer actually has a studio version, as do a bunch of others like I've Got A Feeling and Crazy Mary.

The Sonic Reducer studio version I've heard is raw as hell and sounds like a demo. It needs some work. I have heard the version of Brother with lyrics, too, and don't understand why they went with the instrumental on Lost Dogs. That song would have been great on Ten if they would have bothered to produce it.
Are you going to the Atlantic City shows, bh? I put in for the ticket lottery but didn't win. I will wait until they tour properly to catch them, but man what a thrill it would be to see them up close in a casino concert hall with only 3,000 people or so.
