With the current season winding down, I want to first thank everyone for playing this year. It's been fun building and running a game that I want to play, and finding that others want to play it as well.
I'm not planning any major shake-ups for next season. The season will be shorter, probably still ending with the Tour Championship - but that tourney will be in September. I'll still probably not get things underway until February. (January comes too quickly!)
I'm am planning to tweak the repricing algorithm next year. The current pricing model makes no distinction based on the difficulty of the hole. A birdie on the easiest par 5 is rewarded the same as a birdie on the most difficult par 4 hole. Next year, I will be taking hole difficulty into account. And players who fail to make the cut will be priced off the same formula, instead of applying a flat 5% price loss. (Of course, because they will have far fewer chances to make birdies, they'll still mostly earn price losses.) I expect the overall price sensitivity to be about the same, and the differences may not be very noticable, but the formula will be more reflective of actual value.
Other than those items, I have no current plans to adjust anything else. But I'm always open to considering ideas. So this is your chance to plant some seeds for me to mull over in the next several months.

Guru are you talking hole-by-hole difficulty? Say, tourney $change = sum of $X value increase/decrease for scoring Y% better/worse than the field on hole "n"?

Hear hear. This is the Othello of fantasy golf games - a minute to learn, a lifetime to master (or in my case, probably several lifetimes). The enhancements this year have made this just about perfect, especially in regards to the information available.

Let me ditto the echoes of how great this game is - just wonderful.
As far as any changes go - what do you think about having your provisional golfer come in ANYTIME one your players withdraws. Not just before round one - if one of your guys plays 2 rounds then goes home - have your provy come in for rounds 3 & 4.
Thoughts?
Thanks for a great game !

Re: Provisional Golfer. Not a good idea to have your extra dude come in anytime. It would just inflate scores and remove one level of skill in selecting the proper 4 golfers. The provisional golfer is a good idea to protect you against unforseen circumstances. It should not be used to make the game easier.

At first I thought this would be a good idea, but the more I think about it (no comment sarge), the more I agree with Wheatie.

The only difficulties I see with this game lie within golf itself, and that's the fact that top players don't play enough nowadays. When they do, they often only play for one week at a time, which means you have to spend a lot of money AND an extra trade to get a top guy.
I don't see a good way around this that wouldn't mess up other areas of the game much more, and since everyone is equally affected, it's not a fairness issue at all. Just figured it bears mentioning.
Just for fun, since you can buy a trade when you're out for 100 Guru dollars, what if you could sell a trade for $100 Guru dollars? It would make things interesting when you're just a little short of getting the guy you want. There's probably a gotcha in this I hadn't thought of.

Be easy enough to install the "gotcha":
Buy a trade: $100 Sell a trade: $75

Thanks for the game Guru. I'll be there next year and I'll recruit a few more. I will be thanking you through Pay Pal.
Great season and congrats to all that finished in the top 10.
Nice job Katie #14

Thanks AF! My wildyams and wb teams bounced around each other for the last 6 weeks or so. Go figure that the wb team ends with the lead in bb. Even with having to buy trades a time or two on wildyams...it worked out better than I had anticipated.
Already having golf withdrawl. lol
Congrats to all! A great season, and of course kudos to Guru for providing such a fun game.
