When I look at standings I see that some teams have 5 trades available but most like mine only 4. Why would there be a difference?

If you own the winner of a tournament, you get an extra trade. So teams that had Howell last week now have 5 trades.

Phil Tataurangi will withdraw from the Mayakoba Golf Classic.
An article from New Zealand explains that he found out that he was in the tournament on Monday and can't get to Mexico in time. It is an interesting excuse considering he has been listed in the field since last Friday on the PGATour.com website. The first alternate is Spike McRoy. [Rotoworld comment]

The season doesn't really start until Bo has withdrawn from a tournament. Let the games begin!

Does changing a player who drop out of a tourney for a provisional count against your trade total?

Kyle[8] - it only counts as a trade if you've held that player since the previous week. If the player who disappears is one that you picked up for this tourney, then dropping him does not count as a trade.

Kelly Gibson has withdrawn.

The list of alternates has now been completely exhausted. I never remember that happening before.

254 GuruGolf teams have 4 active golfers this week. Only 55 different golfers are represented on at least one team - which I think is an all-time GuruGolf low.

Good news: My worst ball team is in last place.
Bad news: One guy made the cut...
That team's done.

9th place overall, haven't had anyone miss the cut yet... and 50th in money.

Yessir, I'm LOVING the new pricing algorithms!

I don't think the new algorithm worked very well for this event, when there were no expensive golfers in the field. Most golfers gained a little, no one gained a lot, and no one lost a lot. I may have to figure out a better way to calibrate it to the strength of field.

This was a rather unusual field, however.
