Unless JB Holmes has a great Rd2 to turn things around and survive the cut, my team "HRV-jeffg" will have no golfers making it to the weekend, which will be a first for me in all my years playing gurugolf.

I've also got one team with no one north of the current cut line.
Even worse, my other three teams each have only one! The cut line may go higher though, especially if afternoon scoring is like this morning's.
Last year, the cut line was at +2.

Guru - The crazy thing about your team with no one currently on the correct side of the cut line, in the improbably event that the line somehow dropped to +3 (and Day goes par/par or better), the whole foursome would make it to Saturday.

Only a handful of golfers in the morning groups shot under par for the day. The afternoon scores look a little better but I suspect not enough to keep the cutline from going to +2. Not enough to save Ernie and Boo.

Even though the scores are high, it seems everyone birdies the first hole. PGATour.com describes it as a 560 yard "double dogleg". The last group off the front nine today, Andrade (Ave drive 277.4 yds, 143rd), Dawson (282.6, 90th) and Overton (262, 195th) drive it 310, 333 and 316 respectively. Dawson bogies, Andrade and Overton birdie. Who says you need to be long off the tee?!?

Looks like things are going from bad to worse this morning. Scott Verplank, at even par when play suspended and well within the eventual cutline shoots 79, including a back nine 43, and misses the cut. Jose Coceres, even through nine when play suspended and also destined to make the cut shoots a back nine 46 and misses the cut. When do you suppose Jose last had a 9-hole score of 46? Brutal.

79 players make the +3 cut, which means we'll get another cut after the 3rd round.
Meanwhile, I see that 2-time defending champ bilmill has all four making the cut. Looks like he's going to take a big lead.
This may turn out to be a popular Mulligan week. I haven't activated mulligan scoring yet (I usually wait until the Masters to do that), but when I do that, this week will likely disappear for a bunch of teams.

Here are some cut stats for this week.
After provisional golfer subs, there are 224 teams which started the week with four actives.
Of those,
17 have all four surviving the cut (7.5%)
80 have 3 making the cut (36%)
84 have 2 survivors (37.5%)
42 have just one player left (19%)
Miraculously, no one is completely shut out. Some of those teams will probably wish they were.

There might be some more teams joining the fray when the double cut takes place - if they ever finish the 3rd round.
I wish I had zero players left as I only had one - who lights up the board at +5. Going down the leaderboard like a lead brick !!!
